Locke's Heating & Airconditioning / Undisclosed billing
This company installed an A/C air handler unit at my home in the spring of 2007, and charged me $2, 700. Less than six months later, the unit was not working again. I called Locke's and reported the problem and was told that they would have one of the owner's come to my home and perform a dye test to find the leak in my A/C unit. It took them four months to get to my home and perform the test. I was told after the dye test that I had a leak in my A/C coil, and it would have to be replaced, however, the parts were still under warranty. They ordered the parts and installed them shortly thereafter. Even though I was told that the coil was still under warranty, on May 21, 2008, I received an invoice from Locke's billing me for $650.00 for installation of the coil. At no time was I informed that there would be any charges related to the new coil. When I called Locke's in an attempt to resolve this issue, I was told that the charges were for labor, not the parts. I advised them that I was not informed of any charges for the coil installation, and was told that it would be replaced under warranty. I have already paid this company $2, 700, and believe that the leak was in the coil all along, but they insist that one repair has nothing to do with the other. Locke's refuses to attempt to resolve the issue and has already told me that the will see me in Court if I do not pay the bill. If I had been informed that there would be $650.00 in additional charges, I would have refused to let them do the work and hired another company to do the repair. I have been having problems with this company giving me the run-around for over a year. At the time they replaced the coil, I just wanted the leak repaired and then planned to take my business elsewhere. They say they pride themselves in their customer service, however, my experience with them has been extremely unpleasant. They never do what the say they will, they never return your calls, and they have a total disrespect for their customers. I have in good faith attempted to resolve this issue with Locke's, however, I do not feel that I owe them any more money, especially, in light of the fact that I was never informed of additional charges prior to the repair of the coil.
