Loan Detector South Africa [LDSA] Scam

After I filled in my online application and then suddenly I was charged R399-00. from what I can remeber I didn't even tick the box. one applies for a loan because they need money, not be made out of. Suddenly you handed over and charged legals costs. This an additional debt to the debt. They are making monies out people the easy way. The NCR needs to check this.

I applied for a loan online via these scammers and the agent called to confirm if I'm still interested and I said no when I had about all the charges. A month later R399 was deducted from my account and i reversed it. Now I'm being treated with legal action. For what? What exactly am I paying for?

Loan Detector South Africa [LDSA] services not used and cancelled they want to charge you for it.

The supposed agreement of me to pay R399 is absolute hogwash. I emailed them numerous times to say that I will not take the service as I cannot afford it. This company is a fraud and utter crooks and I believe this is the way they make money. The attorneys they are using Esterhuyze

Supports them in this type of behaviour and this just shows that they are doing this on a continual basis. I never took a loan and told the legal firm I am not paying anything as I told loan detector I am bankcrupt and will not be paying anything.

Loan Detector South Africa [LDSA] unscrupulous methods

Letter sent to fraud prevention units saps
All victims of this company - please report them as well

Dear sir / madam,
I wish to report an online company: loan detector (www.ldsa.co.za) this company has an online site, where they offer loans, and through a underhanded way, get the person to "agree" to their terms of a debit order of r360 per month which they then deduct of the bank accounts of the applicants. They provide nothing for this fee: the unsuspecting person is only looking for a vehicle to facilitate a loan. Their methods are suspect, and there are hundreds of complaints against this company.

I was caught by this company, and instructed by bank to return the debit order and to put a stop on any further debit orders from this company. Now I am receiving voice messages and emails from their attorneys demanding that I pay or face blacklisting.

I, like hundreds of other unsuspecting people, have been tricked by their unscrupulous methods of solicitation.

I respectfully request that you do an investigation into this company so as to prevent them from taking other people for a ride. I would greatly appreciate it if you can advise me what other methods I can take to put a stop to their threats.

This is a multi-million scam and I am tired of being the only one fighthing this! ive since been retrenched and have no income!
Seriously people, take some responsibility and take serious action! why dont we toy-toy and destroy property like the majority in sa do when they want to be heard? see my above comment and take serious action. I now have no income so will probably be legitatemately blacklisted, but the rest of you will be faced with this fraud when wanting to buy a home or a car some day!

Also in same boat. Spoke to Producer of Special Assignment who is interested in this story, as clearly a scam.Yet having reached out to all in similar situations (and know there are hundreds, if not thousands), have only had about 20 or so people respond. This is a massively highly corrupt and illegal institution, yet if people dont want to come forward to expose them, they are going to continue making millions by scamming unsuspecting victims. Although I have a job where often work 12 hour days, and honestly dont have the time to take them on, one on one, was hoping that the masses would respond to my appeal for their experiences, and would be able to expose them via the media... You can contact sharonsbw1@gmail.com. Ive been in contact with producer of Special Assisgnment months ago, yet went cold due to lack of response. Could try to revitalise story, but need enough people who have been scammed to come forward.

Hi I am in the same boat and my story is very similar. In my case I never filled in the application form. I never contacted them because in my mind it was only an online query. I called now and was on the phone with one rude individual. I am also seeking legal counsel and have reported the case at the Credit ombudsman. I am reversing the debit orders as it's coming through. Did any of you get a solution or any response on how to resolve this.

I totally agree with everything above, and I also experienced their rudeness and they actually have an attitude. I have also not even completed sending them all the documentation that apparently completes the loan application, but now have contracts with two places which are certainly linked to each other as I only filled in one form to one place. I too have had money removed from my account, and while the fine print is there, they also have a legal obligation to fulfil a service which I could do myself . The follow up is that you get debt councillors calling you until you want to go insane, and they harass you to a point of no return to complete the forms. They now want 2x R989.00 from me for cancelling the agreement. They swear that Loan Detector and Loan Quest have nothing to do with each other. Despite me only filling in one form, and not submitting the documents that they requested and calling them two days later to tell them that I do not need their service I can do it myself. They took R399.00 x 2 out of my bank. I suggest that we lay a charge of fraud at the police station. I am going to at lunch time. If nothing else at least they will not be able to defraud and insult anyone else the way that they did me.

HI The same happened to me. Within 7 days I tried to call them to say CANCELL anything as I kept getting spam sms from Debt counselling companies and they were driving me crazy with sms. I did not get any money and yet on 2 occasions they debited my account with R399 and now they threaten to blacklist me saying in their mail...If you do not pay within 24 hours then I will be blacklisted. Today I got another email saying. I regret to advise that unless payment is received by today this instruction will be processed in order to effect a summons against you and then proceed with blacklisting against your name. This will seriously affect your credit rating so I urge you to make payment immediately. Failure to make payment will result in punitive legal action against you. Now they ask for R1322.50. they have done NOTHING. Haven't given any funds. You apply online for a financial assistance as you already have NOTHING. This company is a FRAUD and must be shut down. Look all the complaints on Hello peter.com. If you call their office the unprofessional people laugh in your ears and shut the phone down in your ears.

Loan Detector South Africa [LDSA] Collections for R399

Loan Discovery SA seems to be handing everyone, who "apparently" subscribed to their service, to their legal department. Why on earth must we subscribe to something that we need to pay for? Especially since nothing gets telephonically communicated. Then apparently we can't read, whatever is on that website needs to be restructured. This is unethical and when you call to find out you get rude people answering who should rather be sweeping the street than on the phone.

Something really needs to be done about these people cause whatever you guys are trying to achieve by this is just pathetic!

I refuse to pay for something that didn't benefit me especially when I didn't sign up for it. I am not as stupid as you guys proclaim us to be.

I also received an email letter from this so-called company's attorney

IN RE: LOAN DISCOVERY //
YOURSELF

We have been instructed by our client, LOAN DISCOVERY to adress this letter to you.

It is our
instructions that:

1. You submitted an application for our clients’ 2
in 1 service package online via our client’s website, which includes telephonic
legal advice assistance plan
as well as a complimentary loan finding
service.
By submitting the application, you confirmed that you have read
and agreed to our client’s terms and conditions. The terms and conditions,
which is in plain and understandable language makes it very clear that the
amount of R399-00 will immediately become due and payable should your
application for our client’s services be accepted.

2. Your application for our client’s services was
accepted and accordingly the amount of R399 became due and payable.

3. In order to submit your application, and with
the purpose of bringing your attention to the following material terms and
conditions, you had to tick off a box with the following wording next to it:

“Yes, I hereby irrevocably agree to the policies
and procedures of Loan Discovery. This means that I have taken the time to
study and thoroughly understand the terms and conditions, Terms of use, Legal
Disclaimer and the Privacy Policy (collectively known as the policies). These
policies will form part of your consent and will form a binding digital mandate
and agreement between yourself (the applicant/client) and Loan Discovery and the
amount of R399-00 will immediately become due and payable should my application
for

Loan
Discovery

service package be accepted. If you agree to the policies, “tick” the box and click “submit
application”. If not, do not submit your application.”

4. If you submitted your application, you had to
tick off the abovementioned box, confirming that you have read and agreed

to our client’s policies (terms and conditions, terms of use, privacy
policy and legal disclaimer) AND that you are aware that the amount of R399-00

will immediately become due and payable should your application be
successful. If this was not over-transparent already, the application
furthermore states that you, the consumer, should not submit the application if
you do not accept our client’s policies and payment amounting to R399-00.

5. There are furthermore static notices on each and
every page of the website clearly stating our client’s services as well as the
price thereof.

6. In our opinion our client’s terms and conditions
are extremely transparent, and our client cannot be held responsible if you
have submitted an application which terms and conditions you failed and/or
neglected to read, and/or apply your mind to. The cooling off period (being
five days) referred to by the Consumer Protection Act only applies to direct
marketing, which is not relevant hereto. Our client has however implemented a
standard 7 day “cooling off” period in terms of which the consumer can cancel
the agreement, irrespective whether or not the agreement was concluded as a
result of direct marketing.

7. Assuming that your cellphone number and email
address above is correct, our client’s records indicate that you were in fact
duly notified that your application was successful and that the amount of
R399-00 be paid, and could you have exercised your right to cancel the
agreement within 7 days.

8. Our instructions are furthermore that our client
did not receive any notice of cancellation within the 7 day cooling off period,
and accordingly the amount of R399-00 is due and payable

9. Our instructions are furthermore that you have
submitted a Loan Application, but could same not be processed due to the fact
that you have failed and/or neglected to pay our client the amount of R399-00.
Should you pay same, our client will gladly assist you with their services as
indicated.

10. We wish to reiterate that our client’s terms
and conditions, which clearly state their services and the price (which is
indicated in bold in the terms and conditions) thereof, are transparent, plain
and understandable as required by the Consumer Protection Act.

11. You
furthermore consented to Attorney And Client Costs, which at this moment
amounts to:

Taking
Instructions
R114.00

Letter of
Demand
R36.48

TOTAL
R150.48

It is
furthermore our instruction to to demand from you, as we hereby do, immediate
payment of the sum of R399.00 (due to our client), which bring the total
outstanding to R549.48.

Unless the total amount of R 549.48 is
paid to our offices within 10 (TEN) DAYS from date of this letter, legal
action will follow, which will results in further legal cost and collection
commision.

Loan Detector South Africa [LDSA] Criminals

Last year I filled in some online application from loan discovery SA just to see if I qualify for a loan. I never used their service and didn't take a loan from them. I received a call later telling me I owe them R399 for some service. I refused to pay and told them I didn't use the service. They kept going on about how this is clearly visible on their site and I accepted their terms and conditions. I don't need a "telephonic legal assistance plan" and would never have agreed to this had I seen it. Now they have handed me over to lawyers and these are trying to threaten me into paying. I REFUSE! I will not pay this money and if they try to deduct it again or list me I will take them to court. DO NOT do business with this company, they are only out to fool you into paying them money they do not deserve for NO services rendered what so ever.

I checked my bank account today just to find that they have taken R399 off my bank account ON 15 July 2013 without my permission. They rendered no service to me at all. they are refusing to refund me because I agreed to conditions when I logged into their website. Funny enough, they forwarded me the bank details to deposit the R399 to proceed with the application of my loan which I did not do as I was surprised at this kind of conditions. I want my money back as i never gave them permission to take it from me. They had no right. I support all the others that these scammers to be closed down. These people are criminals and should be dealt with.

Loan Detector South Africa [LDSA] Unauthorised debiting of my account

I visited their website to enquire about a loan and I completed an electronic application. When I got back a response and read that I have to pay about R399 for 2in1 legal before they will even look at my application I cancelled, so I did not make use of their services at all. That same month my acc was debited, I returned it promptly! After phoning numerous times and arguing with them I received a letter of demand from attorneys who will proceed with legal action if I do not pay in 10 days. How can a company do this? I did not ONCE use their services, nowthey treathening me! What do I do now, do I pay them to get them off my back or can I do something to report them!

I phoned there call center and made enquiries regarding a loan because their online application requires banking details. The call centre agent could not give a reason but I was desperate and submitted a application online about 2months ago. They then emailed me application forms and said i should pay R399-00 before they would process my application. I would not have borrowed money if I had so i did not continue with the application. They sms me today with my ID number displayed and told me my debit order has been sent back and they will proceed to their legal dept. Not knowing who the sms came from I called the number and they said because i didnt cancel the loan or inform them that i didnt want it I am responsible for the amnt outstanding. This is daylight robbery and I am disgusted how the poor and desperate are being exploited in this country.
