I am an independent writer who was seeking a way to print my book. I chose LSI for cost, professionalism, and ease. They lose on all three.
Here is my last letter to this company. At this writing, no reply although the email was marked PRIORITY. In short, do not go with LSI.

I need to let you know I am, at this point, very displeased with Lightning Source. My paperwork was "lost" to open my account, so I re-sent the paperwork. Now, six working days later, I am told I need to change my log-in information so this can be processed. But I cannot change ANY information because I am not in the computer system - I still receive the "Hello, Guest" at log in.

At this writing, the following is due:

Sign your New Account Application and then fax or mail it to us (If applicable, also sign under Section IV: Credit Card Payment Option). Pending
Fax or mail to us your signed Lightning Source Inc. Print on Demand Agreement. Completed Online
Fax or mail to us your signed IRS Form W9. Pending

I sent the New Account Application and the signed W-9 in either late March or early April. I never heard from Lightening. I emailed my Sales Representative, Yolanda Hall, who explained the package must have gone to "New Accounts" and asked me to re-send, to her, via email. I did this on April 26. I then emailed her asking when I could open my account and download files; I was told 4 business days. My account is STILL unable to access.

I cannot change any information because I cannot get into the system because the New Account Application and the signed W-9 has not been processed.

I have kept in touch with my sales rep, Yolanda Hall. But this does not seem to expedite matters. I am due to make an important presentation soon to over 1, 000 people and need book copies. I have many people emailing me wanting to place an order, but my account has sat here. I am losing money, time, and patience.
Please contact me. I am attaching, again, the New Account Application and the signed W-9 to this email. I am also attaching a copy of emails between my Sales Rep and myself to assist you in understanding the issues.

My book is called "The Devil You Know" and you'll soon be seeing it on createspace... NOT LSI!!!

    Their customer service is piteous and designed to torture all clients. No replies, rudeness, everything is always the customers fault even if they send a proof which looks like its been through a god damn flood. Taking my service elsewhere.
