A friend of mine was looking for bridesmaid dresses and found light in the box! She emailed me a picture of a dress, I looked at the email and all was fine. I then he following day went into my emails to find that my home page was telling me that I was on vacation! I went into my settings to see what was going on and then I found they had accessed my settings and sent emails out to everyone in my address book with an email starting dear friend I have found this great Eshop... it went on to say how amazing this shop was as if it had come from me. They had changed my settings to say I was also on vacation! I cant not believe they could do this and I feel this company needs to be shut down! Please no-one risk using them they are a scam.

Beware buying from Light in the Box if you are in the UK. Your item will be withheld by the courier until you pay DUTY of about £30, on top of the large delivery price you already paid to Light in the Box. November 2014

Your friend is the one who send the email not the company. And what it sounds like to me is a virus has attached itself to your computer attacking your email account. These are everywhere and most people don't even know they have one when they send a email. That is how they are spread around via email. As for changing your setting to being on holiday. Never heard of that in my 10 years on the net. But who knows with today's technology. Email viruses attack your email account and steal all your friends email address then uses your account to send the emails. You get these viruses from open attachments or clicking on links in emails. And yeah you can get them from someone you know. Cause like I said most people don't even know they are under attack. I have had personal experience with this. I had one a few years back and my internet company at the time wanted me to pay excess fees for a going over my quota. I got the tech to tell me what was causing the "over the quota" and they said I had been sending out mass emails and I mean thousands of emails. I told them this was untrue and they told me I must have had a virus. I told them that because I was on my first trial fee month and that they had knowledge of this going on and did not notify me that I would not pay for the excess for that month. Funny thing is I was in the right and they didn't press the matter. So I didn't have to pay it. Thank god. Just so you know I am not in any way affiliated with light in the box and not sure about them either.

I was thinking of using them as a dropshipper I did my first purchases as a test. To this day I am not sure if the item has been received or not I am waiting for my customer to let me know. But that was a while back now. I found that it took 8 days to process the sale even though I use my credit card to make the purchase. I got two emails telling me it has been sent. I had 5 items listed on ebay and got a question about one of the items. I sent a email asking them for the answer to the question but never received a reply. Even tho although the lead up to my first sale they where helpful. Makes me wonder if they actually want my business?

Well that is my experience as to weather they are a scam or not who knows. But to say they are scam because they come from china is very raciest as many people have said. They don't hide the fact of where their company is based. Scams usually hide behind a front for instance a website. Well good luck with your virus hope you don't get stung by a big bill.
