Light-City Buses centre bus door closing on me

I attempted to board the 500 bus through the centre door from bus stop 43 at Para Hills today 27/3/18 at approx. 8.30am as a man alighted from the same door. The door forcefully & quickly closed on my arm forcing me off my feet, back into a pole, while knocking my front foot into the bus shelter while my right arm was still in the door. Luckily a passenger yelled to the driver to open the door.
The bus driver came half way down the bus & asked from a distance if I was ok. He then lectured the bus on how we should only use the centre door during 7-9 am at interchanges & in the city only. He was not mean or hostile but it was news to me & many others as there is no signage to indicate this & most drivers open the middle doors in the morning to let people on.
Had it been an elderly person they cold have broke a bone & had a bad fright. I was very shaken for a several hours after that, such was the shock of the force that the doors shut & sent me flying. So much that I had to get off the bus after 10 mins to compose myself as I was very shaken, in shock & upset. I will have bruising on my wrist & ankle I suspect.
The driver was a younger fair haired driver & tallish.
Could you please either have consistency with your instructions & drivers & clear signage as I would hate for this to happen again. Although people at my work have seen this happen several times which is a real concern

Light-City Buses passenger waits 25 mins for bus new year's eve, hails bus, driver sped past without stopping

A friend of mine in her late 50s waited about an hour on New Year's Eve for a G10 bus to pick her up. When she complained about the first bus driver not stopping for her at stop no 17 on Goodwood Road going into town, scheduled to depart stop 18 at 11.17 pm, didn't even slow down or indicate he was going to stop despite her desperately hailing the bus, waving arms, even stepping onto the road, Caucasian male bus driver with short brown hair staring straight ahead not even looking at stop 17, Adelaide Metro tells her in an email that CCTV footage shows that the driver collected 3 people from stop 17. That's not true. Friend walked to stop 18, waited more than half an hour for final bus for the evening heading into town due to depart stop 18 at 11.47 pm. This bus driver, young Indian-looking man, collected the lady who had been waiting about an hour alone at two bus stops in the cool windy dark. Friend believes that first bus driver who should have stopped earlier at stop 17 was preoccupied with own thoughts and not paying attention. Friend was careful to give full accurate details to Adelaide Metro but they are telling her that CCTV footage shows that the first bus driver collected 3 people! Friend feels that bus company is simply covering up for the driver.

I tried to delete this complaint as the matter has now been appropriately investigated. Friend is satisfied now that the correct CCTV footage was identified. She doesn't want Draconian consequences for the erring driver, just for him to be alerted to his mistake so that he has a chance to improve. We all make mistakes and this driver could yet turn out to be one of the best!

Light-City Buses bus not stopping to pick up passengers

After the cricket finished at 2200 on Saturday 2nd December at Adelaide oval I walked to Bus Stop 1 on Sir Edwin Smith Drive north side to catch either the 203 or 208 bus. About 20 people were also waiting at the bus stop. A 203 bus came past and several people hailed the bus. The bus driver ( the bus was not full) did not stop and went on. 15 minutes later a X029 ( I think) bus which is supposed to be a special bus for large events did the same. One woman stood in front of the second bus and forced it to stop. The bus was not full and the driver did not speak to us to explain why he would not stop. A police officer forced the wonan off the road and did not try to trouble shoot and ask the driver (who may have been frightened by two fat middle aged ladies )why this stop was being ignored. The police officer said I should phone your company but I did not have your number.
I walked to bus stop 2 and 15 minutes later a 208 bus stopped when hailed. He said that bus stop 1 is a valid stop and he had stopped there himself. When I asked him he did not know why the other buses had not stopped.

Why did two half empty buses not stop for legitimate customers? The woman who stood in front of the bus was a worker from the grounds and looked exhausted. No one at the stop was drunk or disorderly.

Why is it OK to leave women standing in the dark for 1 hour to wait for a bus driver to finally do their duty? It is not safe or appropriate for single women to be forced to walk in the dark and be frightened by the possibility of an attack on them after 2200.

I live near stop 16 and I was not home until 2320, when should have been a 30 min commute.

Public transport is what we are encouraged to use for these events and yet this situation is a disappointment that put us at risk.

I expect a reply promptly from you and an explanation of why this happened. I also expect a correction for future events at Adelaide oval.

Light-City Buses Bus Service / driver

The 273 bus (number 1225) at stop number 28 on North East Road this morning (7:31am)- 9th Decemeber 2015 was running on time but did not have the courtesy to wait 10 seconds for myself and another passenger to cross the busy North East Road. This driver had stopped to pick up another passenger at this stop and despite our waving of arms in order to get him to wait, he seemed to be very eager to take off just as soon as the passenger boarded. The traffic was heavy so the bus was only able to move a matter of 10 metres or so and so we both waved at the door for the bus driver to let us board once again - but he just shook his gray-haired head and waited for the traffic to move on...I think that this sort of service discourages rather than encourages more people to leave their cars at home and catch a bus! I would suggest that the Adelaide Metro should be encouraged to "weed out" this sort of driver as I have been using the bus service for a few years now and the vast majority of drivers are good. Thank You for your time and I hope that the time we have both spent on this issue is not in vain.

your one job is to be at the stop well before the bus is due ... that's not hard ! ----- be responsible for yourself ... and if you had fallen trying to get on the bus away from the kerb, you would of blamed the driver !
