Stay away from LifeQuotes, Inc. If it sounds too good to be true, it is too good to be true. I know because I gave it a try. Yes, they will pay you $23 an hour for Talk Time but you will be taking incoming calls from customers who want to be transferred to their agent so you will be acting like a receptionist. Only thing, you'll be logged on 4 to 5 hours to generate 1 hr of talk time. You are required to commit 5 hours a week, but after I joined they increased it to 25 minimum. They will give you leads but you will be following up on old, recirculated leads who have been called over and over (these people don't want insurance, can't qualify for it, or don't have money to pay for it. Many of the leads are from insurance agents checking out the site so you will get bogus names, bogus telephone, email and mail addresses). You will actually speak to prospects who have heard their radio ads for buying $500, 000 of Life Insurance for $15 a month. When they tell you that they are 55 years old, Type 2 diabetic or 300 pounds and you quote them much more than $15 a month, they hang up on you. Lifequotes also wants you to sell a $300, 000 Accidental Death policy (with No Living benefits, that ends when the client turns 75) for over $30 a month or $45 a month for family coverage). Yes, if you are an experienced Life Insurance agent, you will actually sell a few policies. I actually sold 12 policies out of about 100 leads during my 2 months with them. And you will be doing all the grunt work (following up on APS, Paramed exams, missing client signatures, that LifeQuotes tells you that they do, but they don't. I actually received leads as I was logging in at night to try to get West Coast cases. But the leads were originating from NY, NJ and I couldn't call them because it was after 9 PM and the company prohibited us from calling after hours because of the DNC rules. I would leave messages the next day or sent emails that evening, but never received return messages. I suspect if they did call back, they were being routed to their own employees at their call center. And finally, after about 2 months while your cases have been underwriting, when the commissions that you worked so hard for (at 30% commission) start to come in, you get an email from LifeQuotes stating that they are dropping you because you can't close. This company is a revolving door. They know that they can get agents to do all the grunt work, terminate them, and then they keep all the commissions after about the 2nd month. They have a call center of full time agents in Illinois who get all the best leads as they partner with GEICO. They tell you that they have case managers, but in reality, you're doing all the grunt work and you only get paid $23 an hour for when you actually speak with someone. I've been selling Life Insurance for over 21 years so I know I can sell Life Insurance and close. Take my advice stay away from LifeQuotes, Inc.

I want to purchase term life insurance through lifequote. I understand there are complaints by former employees. I got from lifequote a good price quote for Genworth. Is it safe to purchase the insurance through lifequote? I live in California and would never come face to face with a lifequote agent so everything would be over phone and internet. I just want to know that my premium payments go directly to the insurance company and lifequote doesn't receive the payments.

I work for lifequotes for over a year and never made more that $3k a mo yet met and exceed my sales goals! I work for a little as $5 hr at times. I was going to school so I felt that any amount of money I could make from home was worth it. The final straw was when Bob Bland took it upon himself to try and pin an E&O claim against me that was ALL his doing! My advice STAY AWAY FROM LIFEQUOTES IT WILL COST YOU MORE MONEY THAN YOU'LL EVER MAKE WITH THEM!

Bob Bland,

You are a horrible man. You call yourself a practicing Catholic? You are a scallywag! You are a devil in sheep's clothes. I will pray for you. I will try to forget the time you groped my breasts in the back room by the coffee. I will try to forget the way you undressed me with your eyes. God help you bob.

Squadfather,

My name is Potter. You have RUINED my life. I became lost in a world of prostitutes and drugs because of your greedy companies hasty decision to fire me. My wife left me and my kids abandoned me. If you notice fecal matter smeared on your front doorstep you can be SURE it was me.

Turnover. Unbelievably bad back office. Customers have to fax and relax and refax the same document. Can you ask someone to see if it was received ? No. Bob Bland forbids that. Life Quotes Is a churn and burn shop. And, they like it. The rules change. Commissions never appear. Every call is monitored and you get quality control reports. No concern over back office quality. Do Not sell insurance for this company! Move on!

I REALLY wish I would have done more research before I invested $1, 500 in out of state licenses when I agreed to join Life Quotes. Amazingly enough, the day before our training started, I was sent a "new contract" to sign. The minimum hours went from 20 a week, to 30 a week... the paid training was eliminated and they now offer FREE training... and they've implemented a new program where star performers get all the best leads. So the Rookies just starting out with the company get very few inbound calls, or play receptionist, and are forced to work the old leads that have been called on multiple times. NO WONDER THEY HAVE SO MUCH TURNOVER!

The CEO has changed the comp plan yet again and I'm sure a breach of contract lawsuit is piling up. The incompetence at every level in this company is astounding . Do not go to work for them. I'm a top 10 agent there and won't break 60k.

I fell for this scam, of the 6 hrs I logged in, I had about 3 hrs of talk time per day . The leads, came in but as one of the callers said "sounds too good to be true, must be fake advertisement". People calling in where mislead. Take my honest opinion this is a scam. Take a chance and you'll become another victim.

The absolute WORST job I have every had! And I am not an agent. I have seen the total disregard for employees. They only hire part timer so they do not have to pay any benefits. Training is non existent. Management is a joke. Glad that will not be my life career.

I am so glad that I found these comments - before I spent the $1000 for the extra licenses that Lifeuotes requires. I have already, over the past 5 weeks, detected an enormous amount of incompetence and unprofessionalism with this company. From the 20 page document that I was emailed (which was rife with grammatical & punctuation errors) -- to the so called recruiter, "Nathan." This guy is a bumbling fool and idiot who has not done one single thing he said he would do. When I have spoken with Nathan, I have found that he cannot answer even the most basic questions. Training webinars have been scheduled -- then cancelled at the last moment. Emailed inquiries get no response; promised documents never arrive. And, oh yes, the pay plan has changed twice in the last 5 weeks -- and I have not even started yet! I should have known that there would be a problem when Bob Bland (CEO) emailed me and asked: "Why would a veteran agent, who already earns over $100K annually, want to join life quotes?" I now have a better idea why he asked me that. I now know that he does not want a veteran, superstar, producer because I would call him out on his shenanigans.

BTW, the two posters that have so, vehemently, defended Life quotes -- are obviously company employees. And, attacking one of us, professional, life insurance salesmen by saying: "You have to work hard and stick with it, etc., etc" You are full of it. Please do not respond with ad hominem attacks on me. I will continue making 80% to 140% commissions (on term policies) at my current job - and retire in comfort in 5 years. I repeat, you Life Quote employees need not reply with non sequiturs and ad hominem attacks. Look those words up if you do not understand what they mean.

I am so glad I saw these -- and about 200 other, poor, reviews. I will not waste another moment of my time with these charlatans. There are many other web sites that feature poor reviews of LifeQuotes besides this one. Just Google the term: Life Quotes reviews. I will run - not walk away from Life Quotes.

All of you are a bunch of complainers and washed-up salespeople. LifeQuotes, Inc. is an absolutely fantastic company to work for, and, like every other grown-up job in sales, it can be frustrating to make a sale BUT IT IS POSSIBLE. And it is possible to make 100k. BUT BELIEVE IT OR NOT, IT IS HARD WORK. If you are a quitter, don't work here. If you cannot thrive in a fast-paced environment, dont work here. If you are not going to devot yourself to the customer's needs, then don't work here. If you are serious about making bank, and you don't complain about every little detail AND you get your ### done on time, then submit an application. Please also read the POSITIVE REVIEWS about LifeQuotes, Inc. because - ready for the shocker? - DISGRUNTLED former employees DO exist! They cannot work as a team and are not serious about hard work.

Does anyone know of a good lead company or system if a person wants to work at home? I'm not going to continue applying at Life Quotes now after reading all of this. I can see all this stuff happening to me if I continue forward- so I won't. BTW, I found out about this company because I tried to get a policy with LQ. The agent told me my couple hours of flying this year shouldn't be a problem and gave me a great premium quote. After 4 months! of waiting to see if I can get a policy through ING, through LQ, I was rated close to quadruple the premium and the agent sent me a letter that tells me that I didn't notify him of this "medical history" (?) and that I should accept the insurance for a year to avoid a "not taken" incident on my record. Disgusting that he says this to people if they don't know better- it's his record and yearly comission he's worried about.
If someone could answer my first question with a good referral I'd appreciate the advice a bunch!

Just had to check to see if there were complaints against LQ before I took the next step. Glad I did. Judging from the treads there are enough agent complaints to keep me away. As for Ibelieve - is it really necessary to cut and paste your entire story every time you reply? Annoying and defeats your defense of the company. The ratio of dissatisfied agents to satisfied agents is 2 to 1. It that isn't writing on the wall. If the owner is really that bad then perhaps he should think about this when he either reads or writes a comment. When you are only concerned about your wealth and ignore the health and welfare of your employees you will be held accountable by someone. It is just a matter of time. Sounds like you may have gained the world but lost your soul.

SCAM, SCAM, SCAM Robert Bland is running a scam not a legitimate insurance agency. His management team is forced to recycle agents, so the mastermind Bland can maxiumize his profit line. His main objective is to hire agent's to build up a book of business and then force them out without recieving their commisions. I'm sure any positive comments on this site are posted by Bland, so he can continue scamming. If LifeQuotes was not a scam he would not continue to push out agents that have made it past 6 months or more to replace them by new hires that will end up with the same faith. He will continue to set new hurdles for you to jump over untill you jump or fall out. The set goals are only achived by a limited few according to his own post that he e-mails out every blue moon and even then his so called top agents don't always hit the goals on those post. They will try and tell you that you aren't achieving their minimum goals but because you have no control over the faxes they recieve, the mail that goes out or comes in, your not allowed to contact the insurance carriers, etc. they can control your faith and keep you from achieving the forever changing minimum goals that they set. Beware, I don't care how experienced or exceptionally good agent that you are your time here will be limited and threats of termination will be endless.

I was once an employee of Insure.com, now Lifequotes. I can honestly say that no telephone agent nor outside agent has ever made $100k. Commissions were posted monthly for the entire office to see. No one made $90k. Every rebuttal put on this site saying that Lifequotes is a great place to work has been posted by Bob/Robert Bland; I'm sure. I can also say that you can send an email to the CEO/Mr. Bland, but you will quickly be told by your team manager to never send 'Bob' an email. He doesn't want to be bothered by his employees. I keep in touch with former & current employees still who all say the same thing: 'Bob is constantly making this an even worse place to work.' There are new guidelines/filters added regularly regarding the pay plan. If an employee doesn't sign off on it, they are fired right there on the spot. You're not given time to review it or have your attorney advise you on it. The contract says that the compensation plan can change at any time. How is this such a great place to work if it's always hiring? Look at the company financials, it isn't growing at all. It's just a revolving door company.

I think if u cant close a deal after 3 objections u let it go. 30 times for one sale? id say you were underperforming. This comPany is gOod and pays if your also good. If you have the drive and convince, probe use buying clues, scare tactics, adjust coverage. Hear your customers and listen with a purpose and you can make a sale on every call!

I'm so glad I found this website before I put out any money to get additional licensing! I just put in my application with lifequotes and finished my aptitude test last night. I was kind of skeptical to begin with and was only going to try this part-time to see if I would make any money. I know from experience that it is hard to get business from leads but was willing to give it a try anyway. Does anyone know of any companies that are legit and you can make money with?

Class action law suit would be nice...if we could get anyone to listen to us... I complained to everyone I could think of and they never even got back to me...it is a sad state of afairs when no one will listen to complaints that concern an agents commisions... that is how we make our money...my advise to any of you is to complain complain complain... to everyone...the carriers and affiliates BBB..any lawyer who is greedy enough would love to get this case...and any ethical person can see this is an equal opportunity complaint... do you know how much money this guy is really getting off this scam of spinning out so called outside agents? He knows that is how we make our money and we need to get paid...for petes sakes... I paid thousands for licenses as per his request... I lost thousands on this deal... my goodness some of my deals I left on the board I worked back in November...were worth thousands of dollars in commisions...and some I just closed even more of them...that was a lot of hard work to never see one dime of the money...for what ever the reason...no matter for talk time or nothing I should've at least got paid my 30%...this guy somehow figured out how to keep it ALL... I got NOTHING!... I was the one who sold those deals... I called them... I talked to them... some I spoke to more than 30 times to get to close a life insurance deal... you know life insurance is an important purchase... people want to know if there loved ones are going to be protected and it isn't something people buy on one call...this guy got thousands of dollars per agent he didn't pay... I had a lot of people in underwriting that were already approved and needed their delivery requirements faxed to him and that is it! WHO the freak knows how much he got from me...I was just waiting on my commisions and this guy gives me this malarky that I am not performing... well hey I said "I did just fine... my problem is that you won't pay me for my work and you have all these excuses why you don't want to pay me for my work"... AND WHERE ARE THE AUTHORITIES?...this is a work from home scam and a rip off? someone has to be watching over these work from home scams...and this takes the cake... it's bad news...and it makes legit ones look bad... trust me they aren't all bad... I been working from home for 4 years and this did set me back a bit but I am recovering now... I pay $1000 a month now for my leads and make $5000 in commish and get paid every two weeks and I keep my clients for life... so what was this guy really talking about? I mean when I was in the thick of it I was so angry... but now that I am out... I can clearly see the numbers and that contract were all smoke and mirrors...ONE HUGE WORK FROM HOME SCAM... Agent beware... you don't have a chance getting involved with this debauchery...

Lifequotes Sucks. I just wonder how many agents they've screwed like this. I am in total agreement with you, Agent4you. Now they even screw you out of your talk time by adding another stipulation, that if you don't do 1 app for every 2 hours of talk time, they don't pay you the talk time at all. And then when they terminate you for non performance, they screw you out of all your commission. There management sucks, you can't get in touch with anyone and it takes days for them to follow up with you. I think we should start a class action lawsuit. Anyone interested.

I just got let go at Life Quotes, Inc. I am happy... a lot of hard work for absolutely nothing... I had commisions due to me and everyday it got worse and worse and worse... IT issues... noone to help me with my cases... it was one problem after another... and a complete waist of time and money to get going... everything these people said is true about the leads and the case management and they won't answer your questions... training... oh please...every day the training was canceled or you would wait on a web ex for no one to show... they are only spinning people out... they are horrible.. have serious IT issues... they are a bunch of bunk...they tried to bash me too and say it was me that they are fast paced...but I wouldn't let them... I told him to stop bashing me. I am an ethical agent and I wouldn't allow it... I just told him to pay me and let me go because I think he scammed me... I feel like an idiot... I can't believe I fell for this... never again.. I am working on growing my business and securing residuals for my retirement... the guy is spinning out good agents and it is not an equal opportunity employer... an outside agent doesn't have a fair chance...I also caught them selling my clients GI from a carrier the OA did not have access too... bad news... total waist of time and energy...

The Life Quotes program is a nice program for agents -- if you can sell. The leads are fresh and exclusive and I get 10-20 of them per day.
I work the days and hours of my choosing and the training is excellent and thorough. Mike Bruce was wonderful and patient. I took about 15 hours of training - all from home.
Several top agents there have no insurance backgrounds and make $100, 000+ in earnings. Mgt. support is great and there are always daily workshops to attend. The customers are also wonderful to work with and they save a lot of money because Life Quotes compares 30 companies' rates.
CEO answers his own e-mails and takes chances on young people and even those with no insurance experience; he promotes young people all the time. I called him several times, even off hours and he loves his agents.
I know of a young agent that was made a Sales Team Leader before her 26th birthday! It is not a high pressure system, either. They do use scripts, of course, but encourage agents to develop personal relationships and to do through needs analysis on every customer before making a recommendation. The firm's 30-company rater is out of this world because it gives accurate quotes for 30+ illnesses, which life buyers love.

You stated that LQ compares quotes with 30 companies...just as I was told. Well..who's right ! Can you quote or even name the 30 companies ? This is advertising...or is it false advertising... You and me are the agents with E&O insurance and could be liable with false advertising information...I could go on and on about how unethical this company goes. I know of a young #1 agent that was made a Sales Team Leader before her 26th birthday. It is not a high pressure system, either. They use scripts, of course, but encourage agents to develop personal relationships and to do through needs analysis on every customer before making a recommendation. The firm's 30-company rater is out of this world because it gives accurate quotes for 30+ illnesses, which customers love.
