LifeWatch Life watch

I had my life watch for about 6 months. Well a few days ago the front part popped off and the battery inside was swelling up . Which it then blew up. Watch was never near anything hot or water. I do not have a picture of it as I had to get it off as fast as possible to prevent any serious injuries. I wore it all time charged in correctly. I am not sure what was the issue but it was very frightening.

Desired outcome: I would like a refund or another watch I would appreciate a response back

LifeWatch Replace watch

I bought 2 Lifewatch Pros in November, 2022. The one I use would not upload the blood oxygen readings to my iPhone. I complained and the company replace the watch in Jan, 2023. As of 5/15/2023, my lifewatch will not charge. I tried a different charging device 5/16, and it still will not charge. I called the company and they said sorry, your watch is out of warranty. A watch that only works for 5 moths before you have to buy a new watch is a scam!

LifeWatch Lifewatch complaint: plastic on face of watch, whear the watch band needle attaches to the face of the watch, has broken.

I ordered the watch March 7th, 2023. I purchased the life watch for health reasons. Less than two months of wearing the watch when it broke. The plastic that holds the pin in, broke. I was sitting down when the watch fell from my wrist onto the floor. One side of the band was not attached to the face of the watch. The plastic hole, whear the watch band needle slips into, had broke. I paid $125. for the watch and a leather watchband.

I would like a replacement

Desired outcome: Replace the watch face.

LifeWatch The watch doesn't stay on and the touch screen doesn't work.

My Life watch doesn’t stay on so I can’t use my touch screen or I can’t change the time on my watch or use the functions on my my watch. I received my life watch about 2 week ago and I had left it on charge for 1 week without using it and when went to use it and turn it on it came on only fr 1 second and then it went off and I kept on hitting the button to keeping turning it on, however it wouldn’t allow me to use the touch screen functions, so I also tried to adjust the time but the watch wouldn’t stay on long enough for me to adjust the time and the touch screen didn’t work either for me.

Desired outcome: I like to know how I can keep my watch on so I can use the touch screen features on my watch to change the time and use the other functions on my watch

I wanted to know if you ever got the issue resolved. I am interested in getting a LifeWatch for my wife and I. Did you try holding the power button to shut it off? After shutting the LifeWatch off, wait for 30 seconds and power it back on and see if the issue is resolved.

If the issue with functionality persists, I recommend contacting LifeWatch support for additional help.

LifeWatch heart monitor

Biotel or Life watch Heart Monitor,

I was unable to use the heart monitor. The Glue burnt my skin and I had to return this item early (ordered for two weeks) to my Dr. showing my red, itchy bumpy skin to them. I have contacted the company by phone, fax and mail with no resolve. When I finally did reach them by phone (after waiting forever) I was hung up on. They continue to bill me for $800. for a device I could not even use.
Nor have they contacted my insurance for payment. Which make me wonder why they want a cash payment from me.
Very unhappy with this device and their lack of concern or customer service.

I am ex employee of the company and want to suggest every patient to restrain using BioTel technology for heart monitoring. If you have 5% to 9% abnormal readings they gone post study as normal. We technician are forced to hide abnormality. I don’t think this is fair business. They have to improve technology to avoid such blunders

Changed Conmed electrode with the new "hypoallergenic" electrodes (making sure to apply on new area on skin).. still formed allergic skin reaction to this product also. Very painful allergic response to this product. On 4/15/18 called Lifewatch toll free # to obtain advice and was instructed to remove all electrodes. First contact failed in doctors office, second failed on my way home when I went shopping and then loaded car in 96 degree weather. Battery has ridiculously short life. Light stays on all the time burning up the battery. Phone overheats if I put in my pocket, afraid it might burst! I'll never buy a Kyocera product, junk. With all the data they supposedly collect it could at least show your pulse rate! Great idea but poor implementation. The good news is it says no hard work so I get two weeks without cutting the grass!

LifeWatch Sent 3 defective monitors and ...

Lifewatch has sent me 3 defective monitors, low batteries that do not work in the sensor, the wrong electrode sensor patches several times, sent chargers when it is the cell phone monitor's port that is bad, and here I am going into 5 weeks still trying to get a working monitor, batteries with a full charge, and am fed up with LifeWatch.
According to the staff at LifeWatch all equipment is checked to make sure it is working and charged when it is sent out. They are not checking equipment because if they were I wouldn't have been sent two heart monitor cell phones with non working charging ports. Supposedly a fourth monitor will arrive Tuesday, 9/1/15 and work.
I will never, ever let my doctor prescribe me this company again.

LifeWatch Overcharging

I was told by Dr. Broderick and his staff that my copay was to be $20 for a 24 hour test on a Lifewatch monitor. It turns out I was charged $220! I'm glad I did not have the follow up exam, perhaps another $200? They use 3rd party, LifeWatch. Watch out, ripoff! Supposed to be $20, what a lie!

They lied to me and I have the sound byte recording to prove it. What a lousy operation!

I'm also glad I did not go the 7 days... let's see, that would have been $200 * 7 = $1400! I only did 24 hours, as Dr. Broderick directed for a $20 co-pay, but maybe got charged for 7 days? What a lie! I've had this dumb test at 3 places now. I'm sick of it and being lied to all the time... such incompetence!

I've had too many tests. I run 5 miles, workout, and have no problems I'm complaining about. I will not be going there at Cardiology for appointments anymore and I told everyone I meet and our huge email list for our business to not trust you guys and on social media blogs.

LifeWatch Poor Product & Customer Service

The heart monitor is a poorly designed product with even worse customer service. The product is a hacked cell phone that was "customized" and whose battery quickly depleted; the hanging neck harness was unnecessarily large and clumsy and had electrical leads that came out with minor normal movement; and, the body sensors which have a gel adhesive were always falling off. Long story short, it was unusable and I was billed an extraordinary fee for a product that did not perform the required task. As for the "techs", they are offshore and tend to call at ungodly hours because it is convenient for them. Difficult to understand them as well. Overall, a very frustrating experience which I shared with my physician and his staff. If you have an alternative choice, take it.

I'm 72 years of age. I received my "Life time / Lumen watch" with nearly- 4-week delay. I read the "Instruction Manual" several times, and I'm not the wiser for it. It's pure double Dutch. If you are not a computer or smart phone expert, you cant' even implemented this bl...gadget (watch).
The advertisment said : "waterproof (50 m max.)", the Notice book recommends NOT to use it in water! Useless for an old-man who sails most of his time and want to have his heart pulse, pressure and oxygen monitored...
Customer and Assistance service keep harping on the same string : "Read the manual !"
They are totally hopeless. And call you "Chum" readily! Education is totally unknown to them...
I wrote for help over the phone, they kept sending incoherent mails without answering my need for help.
God, Alllah and Buha damn them for ever!
To top it up, the French help service is in Spain... Why not Hong-Kong ? No local correspondant, except in S. Ireland.
Impossible to get any address where to to send the watch back and be refund.
A fine instance of Internet swindle.

Exactly the same experience as I have had, plus my sensor wouldn't communicate with the cell phone. When I disconnected the leads (to take a shower), the cell phone didn't know that it wasn't actively monitoring me any more. Lifewatch wouldn't have had a clue if I had dropped dead. They promised a replacement monitor in overnight mail. Four days later, it hasn't arrived, and Fedex shows no status for the tracking number. Stay away from these guys.

LifeWatch Missing events and auto triggers, poor billing, terrible customer service.

My experience with LifeWatch was pretty good IF I were to evaluate it based on the equipment alone, it functioned well and was comfortable, no complaints there. The service though, is quite another story!
My first contact with them took place after I was wearing the monitor for about 2 days. I had a problem with the monitor not connecting to the phone. I called tech support and the woman was rude and did not help at all. I caulked it up to one bad apple or someone having a bad day, and figured out how to fix the problem myself.

Then, about halfway through the monitoring period (in Feb. of this year) I received the bill which had me listed as self pay and had my name misspelled. The next day, I sent the bottom half of the bill back as it instructed with my name spelled correctly and a front and back copy of my insurance card. Over the next month I was sent 3 more bills still with the same misspelling and self pay status. I contacted the billing department via email as the bill instructed, to inquire about this problem. I sent messages, 1-2 a week for about a month until I finally got an answer. I was told that the misspelling of my name was why they could not verify my insurance and NOW that they have the proper spelling they will process it and send me a new bill that reflects my coverage. It has been over 2 weeks and I still have not received the new statement nor a response to my latest inquiry on if it has been submitted.

But that isn't the worst of it! They also did not accurately log my events! I received a copy of the report that LifeWatch sent to my doctor. The report has 51 recored events. I'm sure I triggered it over 100 times but I realize my count could be wrong, however I was able to count at least 12 events that were specifically missing based on the activities I entered and a few where I entered the symptoms but closed out before entering an activity and some other specifics. It was also missing all the auto triggers. It was my understanding that the device would auto trigger for heart rate over 150bpm and under 40bpm, 2nd or 3rd degree blocks, pauses over 3 seconds and some other perimeters that are not relevant to my situation. During the period my rate was well over 150bpm (usually around 160-175) near daily when I was running and it never set off an event. Also, my pulse did drop below 45bpm while awake quite a few times (asymptomatically) a while before I triggered an event for other reasons which tells me that surely my pulse dropped under 40bpm while sleeping (it did when I had the 24 hour holter done). Also, I did trigger an event where heart block was present which leads me to wonder how many times that was missed by auto trigger.

I contacted the company through the "contact us" section on their website about these issues, the first time being in the second week of March. I sent them a detailed list of the exact events that were missing and my concerns about the lack of auto triggers. After a week with no response I sent it again and again the following week. The 3rd week I sent a shorter message asking if they received my messages about the missing events. I got a reply that day saying only that "all the events are there". He clearly did not read the first message with the details. I replied to his direct email with the long form message with all the details and got no response. The next week I sent it to him again, and again to the company "contact us" section hoping anyone would reply. I have been sending it weekly since then with no response.

The problems (pauses and pulses syncope) that I was put on the monitor for in the first place are still occurring but due to the incomplete information my doctor received from LifeWatch he does not think there is a problem. I had no syncopal episodes during the monitoring period that I know of but they can happen during sleep as well which is why the auto-trigger was so important.

Thanks to LifeWatch, I have no where else to turn with this problem. The doctor says I'm fine and now insurance won't cover further testing. Now all I can do is hope LifeWatch contacts me with the rest of the events and auto-triggers or just keep hoping that every time I pass out my heart will continue to start again.

LifeWatch Elderly Clients Beware

In 2006, my mother signed a contract with Lifewatch at which time she paid a refundable deposit of $100. On Aug.16, 2011, I returned all the equipment to their Lynbrook, NY office since my 96-year-old mother was moving to a facility following hospitalization. On Aug.22nd, I was informed by Jasmine, a CR, that the equipment was received and a refund will be sent out in 4-6 weeks. On Sept. 9th, I called, hoping to finalize some of my mother's bills and paperwork, and Maria informed me it takes 6-8 weeks. On Oct. 15th, 8 weeks after they received the items, Jasmine said she would have to "take it up with Paule, the billing supervisor, to see why the requests were never followed up." On Oct. 21st, Jasmine said the check was processed on Oct. 19th and "waiting for signature."On Oct.31st, Jasmine said the check was mailed on Oct. 26th and to allow time as it was mailed from New York.I am writing this scenario on November 11th, over 13 weeks since Lifewatch received the equipment. No refund has been sent...and also of interest is the fact that the rental fee is paid quarterly and not prorated when equipment is returned.
It is hard to conceive that this company would take advantage of elders who more than likely forget that they have money coming back to them. Is this how their customer service reps deal with those customers and their advocates who are efficient and follow up on what is rightly owed to them?
Regarding their service, only once, after several calls requesting a digital pendant for my mother's neuropathic fingers, did they finally oblige.Otherwise, they did respond quickly when she pushed the button...but that dept. is not the same as their Business Dept.
My advice, find another company and hope to be treated as one should.

LifeWatch - Poor everything

My doctor prescribed a Life Watch heart monitor, with a cell-phone transmitter. I started into a cardiac event at 8 p.m. and hit the manual switch to send an alarm to Life Watch. AT MIDNIGHT, someone called me to ask if I was OK. The battery on the cell-phone transmitter only lasts for 5 hours, so that means the transmitter goes dead in the middle of the...

I found a Lifewatch device in my friend's condo while she was in the hospital. I called MANY times to ask what I should do with it and the "friendly staff" were somehow never available to answer the calls, nor to return my messages. The last message I left stating that if I didn't hear from them in the next two days I would simply throw out the device. Of course no one called. I made the mistake of calling one more time and actually reached someone who said I had to send the equipment back. I was not told who ordered it in the first place although I know for certain my friend would not have initiated the call. Because she has dementia, all she can remember is that a strange woman came to her and ordered it for her, using her debit card to pay $99.99. She never saw the woman before or after.

I did not find the bracelet, nor did the service I hired to clean out the condo so I can sell it (my friend is now in assisted living), but Lifewatch wants to charge me for not returning the bracelet. I have made many phone calls and cannot find out who the strange woman was. Maybe she was a sales rep from the company, although Lifewatch denies it. But I really don't believe anything they say and Lifewatch is the last service I would hire if I needed a medical alert system for myself or a loved one.

If you don't believe this, just Google "lifewatch complaints" and you will see what problems others have had.
