I purchase a lia sophia necklace and turn out to be plastic beads for the high price cost. when I check with the company they stated the necklace was imported from China. The necklace have no sterling silver or any silver. The necklace are made in China at a very cheap cost. They sell them in Ebay so i decided to try and purchase one in Ebay and it was identical with the same plastic beads. Unbelievable over price. Yes the offer replacement for life but it looks like the manufacturing cost is 1/8 of the price. I decide to stay with jcrew and other name brands instead of paying this overprice china cheap made item. Target has better quality for half of the price. Sorry NEVER AGAIN!.

The necklace I purchase was Fantasia for $56.00 from the advisor catalog, no gemstones just a few pieces of cheap glass and the rest was plastic. You did not deny that they are made in China. Rhodium plated do not last as long as you think. But you can always refinish sterling silver. When rhodium plated wore out due to friction it expose the alloy and can irritate the skin with a red rash. The other item was fruity pebbles bracelet for $38. All plastic and your so call gemstone of amazonite and amethyst were just tiny chips on the side of the plastic resin and mussel shell coins.

The quality of this jewelry is HORRIBLE. I have bought 30 pieces from them and have over 7 that have broken- finishes come off, chains break, pieces fall off- the glue they use is laughable. Most of these are after one wear. A few things have come broken. The company claims to have a "lifetime warranty" but they charge $5 per item to exchange it. And if you don't have your original receipt (because you've already returned something on that receipt!) than you're SOL. My friends who also have 10 or 20 Lia Sophia pieces have all had at least 5 broken or defective pieces each.

DO NOT buy from this company. The quality is ridiculously bad for the price that you pay.

Most Lia Sophia jewelry IS made in China. It says so on the little tag attached to the item. Some are made in other countries, too. On one of my Lia Sophia necklaces ("For Keeps"), the tag says "Made in Korea."

I saw the jewelry at a party. The designs were lovely but it was clearly very poor quality. I was shocked at the high prices considering the quality. I would really estimate that the jewelry is only worth about 25% of the price. Go to Lord and Taylor and you will find much nicer jewelry for much less. At Lia Sophia prices you can get genuine Sterling Silver if you shop at Lord and Taylor (they always have a coupon out for at least 15% off)

Rebecca, I couldn't tell from your post if you actually made your purchase through the company or if you purchased on e-bay. If you purchased through the company I am sorry you were not satisfied with your jewelry purchase. Did you exercise the option of returning it? You are eligible for a full refund the first 45 days after purchase. The pieces purchased through the company are plated with rhodium and not sterling because rhodium actually sells at a higher price per ounce and because it is more durable and keeps its high shine without requiring polishing. Ask your local jeweler about the difference between rhodium and sterling and you'll be surprised to learn that most white gold rings are generally coated with rhodium. Many of the pieces sold by the company do use other materials like gemstones, mother of pearl, abalone, jade, hematite, turquoise, jasper, tiger eye, fresh water pearls... perhaps you would have liked the piece better had you selected an item made with different materials. Perhaps not. If you did not purchase it through the company you should know that only some of the necklaces on e-bay are old stock that individual sales people sell even though their contract prohibits them from doing so, and some are knock offs sold out of China. They look convincingly similar but are not lia sophia pieces and the quality is very poor. If this is what you purchased I can certainly understand your disappointment, because you did not actually experience the lia sophia product.
