They advertise solar panels as being approved for CEC rebate and 250Watt output but supplied me with 160W panels, not approved for rebate and 24 volt instead of 12Volt as ordered. They do not respond to emails or letters once the scam is exposed. They do not tell the truth on the phone. They are totally crooked. Consumer affairs in Victoria were useless. Asic does nothing. I am now going to apply for VCAT small claims hearing which will cost me.

Many people have been ripped of by this scummy business. I woulld like to get up a posse of their victims to deal with these creeps while they are still around. Please contact me on [protected]@live.com.au if you are willing to join in an action. I have no car but I can go to Sydney by train. I am a pensioner and they have taken me fort over $3000 which I have to pay back at high interest to the nab. Australia has no viable consumer protection system. We'll have to help ourselves.

Hello fellow victims - I've just been awarded $3000 by VCAT after a hearing which the LHP Power (the respondents) persons did not attend. I feel that my chances of collecting my award are very minimal. You best visit them with a posse of friends and some persuasion equipment before they disappear. I am the person who posted the original item on this site. Very good luck to you - I am Kay on kasch@live.com.au if you need some moral support.

This must be a lhp representative being facecious - pretending to be the ###ed aussie can be a good way to close a discussion.
Rationale - who would respond to that lot of meaningless bull?

The company did nothing - I obtained a garnisheer order from the local court in Blacktown NSW and had $3083 taken out of LHP's bank account by the ANZ in Bairnsdale Victoria, who mailed a lovely check to me. The amount had been decided on by the VCAT tribunal during a hearing where I represented myself, but LHP did not send a representative. It required a good record of communications, receipts, and a statement by a licensed installer and patient persistence. Very satisfying.

Hi, I am also a victim of solar energy store. Wrong product delivered, sent back and never to see another product again. Various emails with no reply. Hundreds of phone calls, which only result in being told its "dispatched". I am in north Queensland which makes it very hard to deal with them. Has anyone been to there premises and confronted them in person with success. I believe that these businesses should not be allowed to advertise in the various 4wd camping magazines, and wish the publishers would stand up for their readers.

hello victims,
I worked at this store for about 9 months or so and know exactly how they operate the business. The business is a total scam, they send out incorrect items, sell items knowingly that they are out of stock, use false advertisement and send out broken or damaged items in order to buy time. I'll tell you in details what happens if you call for your missing item, first you will reach the sales team which they will tell you that the "dispatch" team will call you on the same day, the dispatch team would then call you back and state that the item has either been sent, lost in transit, missing in transit, stuck in transit or damaged during postal etc. They will then state that it will be marked as "urgent" and send you one immediately and you will receive it in 1 - 2 weeks. All this is total lies, they are just making ### up to buy time in order to buy stock from china. The sales team and dispatch team are basically the same people. They also have a couple of websites and eBay stores, there primary goal is to serve the eBay sales so they don't receive negative feedback. Depending how lucky your are you will maybe receive the purchase item between 1 week to 8months. YES 8months.

False advertisement?
If you ask them where the items were made from, they would state all there items were made in USA but the truth is that the items are made in china or other Asia countries. They would make the warehouse people take all the stickers and user manual out so no evidence is left in the box.

So what can you do if you got scammed?
First off their is no point treating them over the phone or calling consumer of fair trading etc..
They will not take the treat seriously... even consumer of fair trading will not do anything, they will ask for the manager, the sales team would say his not here then they would hang up. Total useless. The best bet is to go up to the store and demand for your item. The boss is a white guy euro looks guy in his 30s or 40s so make sure you get very angry at him. He can write out checks. SO DON"T LEAVE till you get your money back. The best bet though is to sue them.

Good luck everyone.

I have bought a spa through eBay from Luxury Home Products. First I waited nearly 3 weeks for delivery, with someone else answering the phone each time, and with outrageous excuses, Then I have the one problem after the other. The air blower ended up faulty, with water running into it, the one Whirlpool 1.5kW pump motor burnt out with water leaking on it, then the cover arrived, damaged. To date I had calls and emails back, but no replacement parts or a payment of the electrician's accounts. I will also take it up through eBay. Ettienne Botha, Adelaide. (ecbotha@optusnet.com.au_

I purchased a 45 litre Infomon Fridge Freezer from this LHP company in November for the Xmas season, but the 240 volt step down transformer was faulty, so I sent it back to them, as they asked and I still have not received the replacement. I have rung them and rung them and each time I have had a different excuse, it is not that I'm asking for the world all I want is the 240 power source so I can run the fridge it runs on 12 volt okay. So threatening them and asking for my money back would be a waste of time I guess, the only other way is to see if anyone knows where I can Purchase one to suit that product. Has anyone got any results from protesting?

Cheers Cath

Hi
I too have been ripped off by this company that advertises in a lot of 4x4, camping and caravanning magazines
as solar energy store. Fortunately I have only lost $114, but it is the principle more than the money. I ordered from their web site a 12/24v twin cylinder air compressor
rated at 150L/M. What they sent me was a much smaller single cylinder one. When I rang them I was told to send it back and the correct one would be sent to me.
I sent it back and when I never heard back from them I sent several emails that were never answered.
About a month later the same item was sent back to me with a $36.95 postage charge. I refused to pay and it has now been sent back to them.
Each time I phone them I am told someone will ring me back but they never do. I have sent more emails but they never get answered either.
Thank you for putting up your web site to warn other people about this company.I will do the same via forums involved around 4x4 camping and caravanning.
Cheers
Kev.

Hello Victims, of which I am also now one of them. I would suggest that anyone comtemplating any purchase from this company to be very wary. They deliver solar panels that are up to 30% under stated capacity, do not respiond to email, facsimiles or telephone.
In my case they have promised to send me another panel to make up the shortfall, but it has never arrived and all I get is lies about it being dispatched. They also took nearly 3 months to arrange a credit for a double charge on a solar regulator, despite assurances the cheque had been posted. It did finally arrive but was dated a month earlier.
This company should be brought to justice and should not be allowed operate in the manner in which they do. As Kay states, the Manager is never there and you get someone different each time. Potential buyers- Beware as you may get done over by this company. They have no ethics.

HI Kay,
I too have been a victim of the Solar Energy Store, paid $1435.0 for 3 items 35 days ago and only 1 has been delivered that arrived yesterday well over a month since they took my money.
I have rung them 11 times and sent numerous emails and faxes and have been promised by the sales team that someone will ring me back...to date I have never had a call or email to explain why the items have not left the warehouse.
They just keep saying that they have been dispatched, yet the independant shipping companies tracking service shows that they have never been dispatched.
When you ask to speak with a manager they are either not there or in a meeting and to top it off Ken the manager dosen't have a last name, telephone number and its not possible to speak with anybody in dispatch.
I have reported them to the NSW office of Fair Trading, by the way LHP, Solar Energy Store and Bulk Imports & Exports Pty Ltd all operate from the same Sydney phone number, so I assume that Bulk Imports & Exports is the parent company...BEWARE OF THESE BUSINESSES
