Lexington's Athletic Club's president, Jeff Graue, has put me and my family through ***.
I put my two children on a year contract. After completing that year contract we were put on a month to month contract. After requesting termination of which after being put on a month to month, they called me about my credit card. I told them that I no longer wanted to continue the contract month to month and they told me I had a 30 day termination waiting period *First to my knowledge*. Instead what they did was bill me for 3 more months onto my credit card!
I reported this to my credit card company who investigated them and reimbursed every cent of the $497.00 they billed me for fraudulent intent. I wrote their president, JeffGraue, to explain to him what had happened and the concern I had with his company trying to do this to me. He wrote me back stating that I live in an "English speaking Country now" and that they intend to "report me" for the monies that were reimbursed to me from the credit card company.
After speaking with my attorney, they have already crossed a legal boundary by trying to scare tactic me by threatening to "report me". After their racist and condensing letters I've reported them to the Better Business Bureau and intend to tell everyone I see how unprofessional and racist they are to hard working american's with an accent. If you have kids, do not go here. THIS PLACE IS RUN BY A SCAM ARTIST! They will never get a dime out of me, if anything they will be paying me!

Absolutely ridiculous treatment from Jeff. He insulted me and laughed when I asked for his help. Stay away from LAC.
They got me for $2, 623.00 plus $452.00 in attorney fees and a 12% interest when they sued me and 12% is to high and they told me i was only in a 1 year contract and it was a 2 year, now i've been paying since may 2010, thinking about filing banckruptcy on them seriousley 3, 000 and some dollars i have to pay the.
They pulled the same thing on me. I had a month-to-month contract with them and after a few shorts months, my economic situation had changed so I cancelled my membership. They sent me one more bill, but since I had already closed the account they were authorized to take automatic payment from, I was not out any money. I sent them another letter explaining that I had already requested they cancel my month to month contract in the previous month. I never heard a word out of them. Over a year later, I got a letter from a collection agency claiming I owe Lexington Athletic Club well over $2, 000. This is insane. If they aren't going to honor month-to-month contracts, then they should not be offering them. Lexington Athletic Club is indeed a scam. I'm a new resident to Kentucky, but will be contacting the state's consumer protection authority as well as the better business bureau.
I had a 2 year contract with Lexington Athletic Club and I had lost my job and couldn't pay it in 2007 and today in 2011 the sheriff just served me a paper from them, total is 2, 668.00 from 1558.00 which is ridiculous and now I have no choice but to go see a Lawyer to see about filing bankruptcy because this is highway robbery for people that don't have this kind of money. I hope they investigate this place because they really really need to be. I will never ever refer no one to this place. I am so sorry I stepped foot in there building.
As a member in good standing with the BBB and a long history of ethical and fair treatment of our customers I strongly recommend that you request an arbitration hearing through the BBB as I disagree with your comments above both personally and professionally. We are more than willing to participate and abide by whatever decision is rendered through arbitration. The BBB is a champion of fairness to the public consumer and we applaud their daily efforts as well as this valuable service.
