Leon's Furniture poor quality control

In March of 2007 I bought a couch, chair, and recliner from Leon's. After about two months the couch and matching chair were not wearing well and Leon's replaced it for me in July/07. In July/07 I bought a washer and dryer and the dryer came and it didn't work. My husband took the back off the dryer and the computer board had never been hooked up inside. Luckily he knew how to do this and the dryer worked after he connected it. Two months later the couch and chair again were not wearing well and Leon's said that I could chose another couch and chair which I did. They came with two trucks, one to pick up the old set and one to deliver the new set. They drove away with my old set and the delivery guys couldn't get the new set in the door. I must say they didn't try very hard. The truck returned only with the old couch. They said the chair had been dropped off already. Leon's said I could pick out another set which I did and it took until the beginning of December to receive. I ordered it at the end of September. This couch had a rip in it so Leon's said that they would replace it. I got the replacement at the end of March and this couch had a big black mark on it. They sent out a cleaning company and they removed the black mark. It was over a year that I was dealing with this. It certainly took the fun out of buying new furniture. I sent in a lengthy letter of complaint to head office and to the Saskatoon store and a customer service lady from the Saskatoon store called me. I never did hear from the head office and this lady that called me was a lady that I had complained about dealing with in my letter. I did not hear from any manager either in Saskatoon. They offered me some gift certificates but never said how much and I declined because that would mean I would be buying something again in that store and I refuse to even set foot in there. Leon's did do everything that was expected in replacing the furniture but to have four out of four couches be faulty in some way makes me question their quality control. I wouldn't recommend Leon's.

Leon's Furniture used goods???

Enough is enough, This has been going on for close to 3 months now, 3 months that my bedroom has been in shambles, 1st off the head board I ordered was delivered 1 month late and was the wrong size, I reselected it took yet another month to be delivered and there is a chunk out of it, I am not waiting another month to receive yet another headboard...this is pathetic! I called the sudbury store and complained they gave me the run around, All I want is my money back and for your store to come get the whole bedroom set I purchased and refund me, I am not waiting yet another month before I can set up my room/bed...I will go make a purchase at another store where I know I won't get the run around and won't receive damaged goods...GIVE ME A FULL REFUND! 2 and 1/2 months is long enough, I have clothes all over my bed is incomplete, Nothing is set up b/c now I received damaged goods...• Makes me question if they pulled the headboard out of mark down, I purchased a whole new bedroom set...Sudbury store called on Thursday to say that the headboard was not in and that I would have to wait, I then told the girl to cancel my order give me a full refund, as I prepaid for the order cash, and I will go somewhere else as this is enough, the next day the delivery guys are here with the stuff, they leave it in the middle of my living room, I then noticed that the top piece to the headboard is damaged in which I took a picture there is a chunk out of the corner, and some scratches, I do not wish to have a technition fix it, I paid for "new" stuff I expect "new" stuff...Not a fixeruper, If I wanted damaged goods I would not have spent the money I did instead I would have just went to Value Village...I expect quality...I expected to get new stuff not damaged!

Leon's Furniture defective furniture

At the end of August, we purchased a coffee table, two end tables, a flat screen tv, and an entertainment stand for the tv. Well, we had to pick one of the floor model end tables because they didn't have enough in stock. The rest of the tables were delivered last week with damaged corners - the entertainment unit was also delivered with a large gash on the front corner as well. The television has not yet been delivered.

We contacted Leon's about the quality of the furniture and were told there was nothing that could be done as we only had a couple of days after delivery to examine everything. No one told us about that - most stores give you 7 days to return anything. Very convenient that Leon's failed to inform the customer of this policy - something that legally needs to be done. Needless to say, we are now stuck with furniture that is damaged and we don't even get a discount because of it. Will never shop at Leon's again. Worst customer service around.

Leon's Furniture poor service and delivery

Two store owners and had to deal with both. I have been waiting a month to have a set of bunk bed delivered and still no show. I have been calling and all I get is sorry but I don't have them yet. Knowing that they were back ordered and I wasn’t told. Week after week I was told next week. When they finally did get to their store they were damaged and had missing parts. One of the 2 owner told me that he was going to make sure the missing parts were sent on the next day and have the beds to me when they arrived ( with damaged parts wanting another 3 weeks for new ones.)When I called the store, of course that owner was not there and I had to talk to the other. They informed me it would be 6 days or more before the parts even arrived at the store. I will give a little credit to the first owner he did try, and gave me a discount on one of the 2 dressers. After saying that I decided I couldn’t wait any longer then I all ready have and I canceled the order of the beds. The dresser that was to be delivered with the beds that I still want, the second owner refused to deliver it at my convenient and hung up the phone on me. Telling me that he would not deliver after hours where as the first owner was going to. I was also informed that I writing this complaint was going to do nothing for me and that it would be sent back to him to deal with. So in other words I am wasting my time. After saying all this I just want your company to know that when you have private owner adverting your name you should screen the people you let do that! You have just lost another customer and I will spread the word.

Leon's Furniture damaged goods

Bought kitchen set, it was delivered damaged, had to go and get my own replacement. When I first purchased the set, I asked the sales rep if there were any sales or promo's comming up, especially with the new store opening down the road, he said no not at all, on week later, there was a sale ($100) off, I called the store and they said they new the sale was coming up, I feel the sales rep could have saved me some money, I am on a tight budget and could have used the extra cash on other furniture. I will shop at Teppermans next time

Leon's Furniture re-stocking fees

Over the years we’ve purchased several items and were satisfied until our most recent purchase. Leon’s Furniture on 140 Akerley Blvd, Dartmouth, N.S. We purchased a dining room table with 8 chairs. Later we purchased the hutch and buffet to match the table. When the table set arrived one of the chairs had a scratch on it, I took it back to the store and it was replaced with a new one still in the box. When that chair was taken out of the box, it too has a scratch on it. So I returned that chair and again a new one was given, still in a box. This one was O.K. So we enjoyed using the table and chairs, for a few weeks, then we began to notice that the seats on the chairs were starting to sink in. It felt like we were sitting on a toilet seat. We also had to keep screwing in the screws, as they kept falling out, from under the chair, and to tighten them up as well. So, I went to the store, at Customer Service and spoke to someone who sent a repairman to have a look at the chairs in question. He cancelled on two occasions but when he finally arrive, he indicated that the chairs were poorly made and had no support under the padding and that there was no way that they could be repaired and that we should go back to the store and select 8 chairs of our own choosing, preferably hard wood chairs, as the store had plenty of chairs to choose from. I went to the store and looked for replacement chairs. Most of the sets all contained the same type of chair, padded seats of a valour texture material. At the time that I looked there were only three sets of kitchen tables and chairs that were made of wood in the seat area, and the color did not match the set we had. A sales person questioned if I needed any help and I asked if the store would be getting anything new. I told my situation and he said that I should speak directly to my original sales person, he looked on the computer to find out who it was and went and got him. I again explained my dilemma and he said that they got furniture all the time but didn’t know if what I was looking for would arrive in new stock. He also said I should complain to Customer Service and recalling my husband that he should be able to get something done.

A new flyer for the store had come out and I took it to the Customer Service Dept and spoke with Katelyn, (June 1) I mentioned that I wanted to complain about the set I had which looked similar to the one in the flyer. She spoke to someone, behind a tinted glass, and when she came back to me she said that she would give me back some money
$ 327.00. I questioned her why. Then she asked if I was satisfied with the set, yes of course, it was the chairs. She then talked again with someone, and when she came back she said we’ll take the whole set back, just find something else. I left and spoke to my husband that night . He said fine, but how long before we would find something we liked. With an empty dining room, So back I go to the store, I asked to speak to Katelyn, (June 2) since she was the first person that I spoke with, she wasn’t in, she would return to work the next day, I went back to the store the next day, (June 3) again asking for Katelyn. she was off sick, and I had to repeat my dilemma to Teal, asking when they thought some new furniture would come in. They get new stuff all the time, just for me to keep looking. I asked if I’m paying for this furniture, thru finance, and don’t have it, they may not get what I like. Then what? I asked if it was possible for them to take back the furniture, since they offered to take it back, and cancel the contract with the finance company. Teal would talk to Gloria LeBlanc and get back to me. June 11th Teal calls back and, Yes, it could be arranged, but I had to pay for a re-stocking fee 20% of the original amount which amounted to over $600.00. WHAT?

I’ve checked all documentation that was given to us by your company, Leon’s, and the finance company. I’ve gone on the internet and no-where does it state that a re-stocking fee would be charged if returned for cancellation of the contract. My husband got mad and paid it, which ended up being $486.72 and made arrangements to have the furniture picked up. ( What happened to the $327.00 that I was told I would get back?) Then the store had the nerve to call back and ask what was being returned, the table and chairs or the hutch and buffet, or was it all of it. I mentioned to her, that it was Leon’s that suggested that they take back ALL of the furniture and that was what they were getting ALL OF IT.

When the furniture was picked up by your deliver people, they asked for the ninth (9) chair, which we never got or had. Exchanges only. I feel that to be certain that we were not lying they asked (2 people) to use the bathroom, and went upstairs to use it and check. Leaving dirty boot prints on the bathroom mat.

We would like to have this matter resolved by getting our money back $486.72 or legal action will be taken.

I was recently asked to pay 30% restocking fee for wanting to return a sofa and loveseat the next day after it was delivered. I asked if they can waive the restocking fee or match what other stores are charging (10%) if I decided to keep one of the couches so the manager of customer service said she would lower it to 20%. If this inconsistent restocking fee is not bad enough, I was then told that I would only get a store credit. I will never shop there again and would NOT recommend anyone purchase furniture or appliances at Leons.

Well we bought a sofa and chairs from Leon's here in Mississauga and believe me it's been a battle our sofa seats have sunk in a number of times. It feels as if we are sinking in the bottom of the sofa, they have restuffed the pillows but they went back the same way. I have a sofat that I purchased fifteen years ago in Toronto and the this sofa has lasted the fifteen years with the exception of torn fabric. This sofa from Leon's is only two years old and feels like a dirty old thing. We have fought we Leon's and still no answer with them, they wanted to charge us the restocking fee also, but we decline, we are stuck with such poor quality sofa that we are still paying!

These two earlier comments obviously come from Leon's employees!

We are experiencing the same problems with our TV except it has been 8 months since we started this fiasco and they still have our TV!

1. The re-stocking fee is on the back of your large reciept on the bottom
2. If you were running a company would you want something back someone had in their house for several weeks and be stuck with old used furniture? No.
3. No legal action can be done as once again re-stocking fee is on the reciept
4. The $327 was either A) Money off to keep the set as is or B) a rough estimate of how much the re-stocking fee is

I only know all this because I deal with Leons all the time, they are the only guys I want to deal after seeing how other places treat people.

Leon's Furniture Crap quality

For Xmas we ordered off the Leons Website a kitchen table & 8 chairs. When delivered, 3 of the chairs were broken which we had to physically return ourselves and pick up our own replacements strictly because it was ordered off the net, not directly from a store location. A wk after using the table we noticed the table top was already showing signs of ware & tear - AFTER ONLY 1 WEEK! When the 4th chair started to come apart we made the complaint to CS and they kindly informed us of their NO REFUND policy. We went in, found another style of Table & 6 chairs and did an exchange. This set took 6 wks to be delivered. Of the 6 chairs ordered we received only 5 and 1 of the 5 were broken. Once the table was put together we found it had been damaged along one of the hinges so the extension could not be pulled out. Another complaint call into CS and another replacement table & 2 chairs ordered. Yesterday only 1 chair arrived and before assembling the newest of 3 tables we found yet again it had been dropped during some part of the process and one of the corners was smashed in. I am currently sitting on the floor here in my kitchen where a beautiful table should be waiting for the store to open up so I can once again go through the pains of telling my aggravated annoying story to another CS employee who simply won't care. We were told by the delivery guys that they don't get paid when they have to pick up damaged material. We then watched him roll the table (#2) out of our house and down 4 concrete stairs, down our driveway and he threw it in to the back of the truck. No wonder some of the stuff arrives in such Crap Quality Condition. My kids sure will like the idea of eating on the floor but it will get old for me very quickly!

Leon's Furniture bad service and products

Well lets see, it took almost 3 weeks for our first piece of furniture to arrive, when we looked at the couch underneath there were holes that they tried to cover with staples, they already started ripping, so first lesson is check the couch over with a magnifying glass, top to bottom because if you find anything wrong with it after you sign that piece of paper saying it looked ok when they delivered it you have to bring it back in to have them look at it, and all warranties are void if it is not moved by professional movers on any of their items.
They lie about when things are going to be delivered, like say it's going to be delivered on Saturday and 5pm Saturday you find out only the washer and dryer(the wrong colour and no pedestal for the washer) were only on the truck, you call and they say oh yeah I'll look into it, and then it's oh it's going to be 2 more weeks for the dining sets. 2 weeks you call back and they says another 2 weeks, so now it's been 6 weeks and we have yet again to call, I wonder what they are going to say this time.
Finally we were suppose to get two more couches, they call and say they will be delivered Tuesday, they show up at 7pm, only to find out they only had room on the truck for the pedastal for the washer, and they had to leave the couches at the store and will get them maybe next Tuesday. So maybe we will see them next week.
Unless you actually buy the floor model so you get it right away I don't recommend buying anything from Leons if you want/need it in a timely manner. Also if looking for quality buy elsewhere, what you see on the floor is not what you actually get. Never again we have learned our lesson.

Leon's Furniture stained matress

Good Day To Whom It May Concern
I am not sure when I purchased a matress from Leon's Furniture I have this matress about 18 months. 78 Crown Vienna NF PT Matt Senna # [protected]-004 ath a cost of 2200.00 dollars.
I have always kept the matress cover with the cover I purschaesd when I bought the matress. I had a matress from sears before i purschased this one it was 15 years old with no stains and never a matress cover.
However last month when I removed the cover to wash it I notiiced a large yellow stain, not where we sleep. But on the side and in different places the white foam has a yellow tint appearing in different spots. I called the store they sent in someone to look at it and told me the matress compnay would be in the province next week and he would get them to have a look at it . Well I didn't hear back from them and spoke to the Manager of the store and he informed me that the gentleman he send out to look at the matreess said it was stained and the warranty doesn't cover stains, I can 100% assure you this matress was never used with out the cover and that nothing had ever been wasted on it even if it were how could it get down throough a comforter blankets and a matress cover made of rubber. I want an explanation as to what could have happened to this matress doess the pillow white top foam turn yellow after a while this looks to me like what might have happened if so I should have been told this when I bought the matress. I really don't understand this but I bought this matress in good faith with a ten year warranty. The manger of this store is very professional and his position is second to none. I have purchase d furniture in the pass with no issues and had every intention of doing so in the future as I am currently building a new home and because of the great store and its manager was about to head to Leons once again but I am know rethinking my postion on this decision.
Thank you
I hope someone takes the time to read and respond to my emal maybe it is a manufactures defect if so I would need that info to contact them.
In any event I expect a reply from Leon's Furniture and something done about my matress. Again I feel very strongly that this what ever it is on my matress is not something I did or didn'ftdo.
Please respond

Leon's Furniture bad service, leon's = liars

I am having my own HORRIBLE experience with Leon's Scarborough (Toronto). I ordered a sofabed and loveseat and everything came on the proper date. Problem: The 3 cushions on the sofa bed in the showroom were all attached to one another which was a good thing, BUT the sofa bed that arrived here came with 3 individual cushions... which slide off the couch every single time one sits on it! You get comfy... and the cushion starts to slide. You get up... the cushions slide off. Pathetic! I want what was shown to me in the showroom! I call to complain ... Leon's tells me it should have come as 3 attached cushions and that the manufacturer doesnt even make them seperate and that they shouldnt have been delievered like that to me. Ok... so we make another date for a new delivery of the 3 attached cushions...well after waiting all day on the day of delivery, they bring us the same damn sofa bed cushions that we already had! Wasted a day waiting for nothing! I send the guys back with the sofa bed and cushions and didnt even have them bring it inside.

I call Leon's Scarborough to complain once again. They apologize and then say they will call me back. When they call me back, they suddenly tell me that the manufacturer no longer makes the sofa bed with 3 attached cushions and that they all now come with 3 seperate cushions. I tell them to send me the one from the showroom. They agree to do so. Then they have the nerve to tell me that they only deliver the first Tues of each month... BULL!... as they were just there the day before which was a WEDNESDAY! They had already been to my home twice in 2 wks! Liars!

So today I get a phonecall and they tell me that they dont have the 3 attached cushions anymore. That appearantly a designer took the couch and put it in the clearance area and someone bought it! OH GOD! THE IDIOTS! Why do I feel like they just keep coming up with more and more excuses to not have to do anything about this? If this 'really' happened...then why didnt the guy get the cushion off the showroom floor asap as soon as we hung up so that this delivery could get underway? I dont even believe them anymore.

To top this all off... I paid for their 'leathercare' on the loveseat and sofabed. They explained to me when i purchased the furniture, that the couches are unpacked and sprayed with the 'leathercare' and repackaged. Well, if that is true, then why did they bring a couch with the 3 seperate cushions to me the second time around? I mean the whole reason for the delivery was to get the 3 ATTACHED CUSHIONS! I think the whole 'leathercare' is a scam. I will never get that again!

NEVER NEVER AGAIN WILL WE BUY FROM LEON'S! NEVER! AND I AM TELLING ALL MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS!

PS: I will have to let you know what the outcome of this fiasco is

Wow thta really sucks, but now that you have this couch may i suggest putting velcro strips (the ones that stick now sewed on) to keep them in place. it won't show and you won't be frustrated every time you sit.

I on the other hand have had an issue myself. i bought the warrently care package. my kids have drawn on the armrests and the pen wont come out. no only that the leather has torn as well. Well I've called and had to leave a messege. hope that when they do cll back they don't give me a hard time...afterall they did say that even if a knife is taken to the couch they would cover the cost to fix or replace.

keeping my fingers crossed.

Leon's Furniture extended warranty!

A person purchases extended warranty for a reason. RIGHT! With Leon's extended warranty you would figure that there would be no problems. LOTS OF PROBLEMS! Back in January (2nd week) of this year I contacted Leon's Extended Warranty because of a few things that had been falling apart on mystove. Said they would have someone out to take a look.

Now I waited until the last week of February to contact the extended warranty program and they stated I needed to contact my local appliance dealer. In Point form this is how it went:

1) Called Appliance repair shop - said that Leon's had not yet contacted them with answer. Faxed them several times.
2) Called Leon's they said they had not received anything.
3) contacted local leon's furniture store in Winnipeg. They said they would find out what as going on. They called back saying that the repairs would not be covered because it was abuse.
4) Called Leon's warranty, they had no clue what was going on and that they did not have a work order for my stove. I asked them how did Winnipeg get and answer.
5) Called local appliance repair shop and asked them to fax me the work order.Got work order - called leons warranty - said someone had seem it because there was some writing on the side.
Complete DENIAL that they had seen it.
6) Talked to one rep said that she had found it later on her supervisors desk. Asked her to get supervisor to call me I wanted to know where the failure in communication happened.

This is where it gets good:

7) Conversation with supervisor - I was accused of
a)Getting someone else in to clean my oven
b)all repairs that where needed should not hinder in the process of cooking. (plugs on top, light in oven, storage drawer on bottom rollers broken)
c) the only thing covered by the extended warranty was the elements
d) Told me that it was my problem that I used my stove to much.

This conversation steamed me and it was not over yet. Inquired about the 7 year parts and labor that the salesman put on my warranty certificate. She said she had no control over what the salesmen put on the warranty. All in all I still got nothing accomplished. Complete denial on leon's part. Filled with accusations and lies to cover their butts.

In the end I will never by anything from Leon's again never mind the scammy extended warranty program.

I’m afraid I’m another one of many who have fallen for the phoney warranty scam of Leon’s as well.

On the principle alone I will fight this company tooth and nail along with my attorney.

I will make sure I expose this company on all social media platforms that I can find here in Canada .

A person pays the extra for these expensive purchases for piece of mind in the event of a product malfunction. Instead, Leon’s uses this along with high interest cards that apparently go out of business to extract as much money out of the poor average consumer as possible.

All I get is busy phones? No reply to online claim forms?

My next purchase will never be from this company !

Leon's Furniture more than a miserable service!

I have bought a fridge and a stove from our fellow here... they set me up for the delivery today... after waiting and calling them they finally arrived... at 5:30 pm... very nonchalant they announced me they could not complete the delivery because there is snow in front of the building... about 10 cm... I said we have to do it even if I have to shovel the snow... by the time I went inside to take the shovel, they simply and cowardly took off! TOOK OFF! If you can believe it, like that, knowing that is nobody at the store to answer me back and leaving for their saturday night off duty... do not meter that my appliances, the old ones I gave them back to the owner of the building... long story short:day lost, rotten food, miserable service!

Vive leon!

Leon's Furniture terrible experience!

On August 26,2008 . I purchased a sofa bed( After months of B/S they delivered it December 01,2007), coffee table and two end tables and a bedroom set. I set up delevery for Sept 01,2007 well they sent half the furniture and most of it was damaged. ( Coffee table chipped , scratched, wood missing & 1 end table was defective. Bedsidepanels had cracks on them (cheap lamenant). When I contacted Leon's Brampton they kept me on hold for 15min and told me that they would send a "Technion's" to examine the damage and he might be able to fix the problem (glue the piece) It took 1 week for him to come and he had no idea what to do and tore off a piece of the furniture and made a report to replace the damaged pieces( He also had no knowledge about the furniture). It took them 2 weeks and they replaced the damaged pieces with other damaged pieces. Long story short (I could go on and on) They came and took my bedroom set I wanted a full refund NOT a CREDIT and they have not refunded my Financial Institution yet! That was Dec 29,2007. My Financial Institution contacted me on January 30,2008 and informed me that they still have not sent the refund to them ( Go figure). They have also sent me my 3rd defective coffee table and have scheduled a pick up of all 3 tables for February 13,2008 and requested a "Stocking Fee". (I don't think so) They are unprofessional, disorganized, scammers and liars. They do not stand by there products at all. They try to rip off the consumer and they don't want to be accountable for the CRAP they sell. They should step up to the plate refund my monies and stop playing games. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM LEON'S.

It is not about what you are buying, of course if I am buying a 5 piece bedroom set for 599.00 I would expect it not to be the best and I don’t expect it to last me a lifetime. But it is the way you get treated when you are talking to the customer service rep’s and not ti mention the 18 year old customer service manager (MANDY in BRAMPTON) They don’t care, because they have the power to do anything, they do. I am a pretty reasonable person, but when you get 4 dressers in the course of 6 weeks, and all are damaged to the point that you can not even take a discount to keep as is. That is when the gloves come off, that is where I draw the line, I don’t expect perfection, I expect at least, something that is not going to look like it is 15 years old and I expect that the manager can do more for me. The fourth time, I was livid, she said that she can do a next day delivery, I said I can’t I have meetings can she do it after 3:00, not she can not drivers are gone by then, weekends, no they are booked. Well what can do? Can you take a day off work? I asked her, can you? Now that I have bought the furniture, I am expected to wait for techs, take time off from work, spend 20 minutes on hold and then finally, talk to a 18 year old manager (MANDY) who should be working at McDonalds flipping burgers or in school right now. You have to put your foot down sometime!

I have bought furniture, electronics and appliances at Leon's for over 45 years. I have never had a problem with service and I have always been treated with the utmost respect. That is not to say that I have never had an issue with a tear, or a scratch on a product I've bought, but I do realize that for he most part it is the manufacturer that sends damaged products to Leon's. I find it really hard to complain when you can buy a 3 piece living room set for under 2 grand and one of the pieces might not be entirely perfect. If you want perfection go to a ultra high end furniture store such as the Art Shope in Toronto where you might be lucky to get a sofa for under 5 grand. Lets be reasonable people. Were not buying Bentley's, were buying Ford's.

We bought 2 pce. sectional in June. We have similar problems the sofa was riped at dilivery and the problem is not solved yet. The technician came and sad to us that back seat will be replaced. Finalley they called to tell that the part is in and they are coming back to fix it, but the same day we got a call that instead of a back seat they received the chair. So we are waiting again for how long we do not know. And with all this I not talking about other smoll problems we had.

Leon's Furniture bad customer and delivery service!

My wife and I had purchased a front load washer and dryer from Leons. The delivery boys tried to slug the washer up two flights of stairs with no equipment to assist them. They set the washer down and slice through my laminate floor. Owner of the woodstock store refused to pay for damages. However when i set the washer in place and hooked everything up it did not work. Called the store to remove washer and replace with a new one. Customer service insisted they send a service tech. to fix. After much debate I said fine, service guy showed up later that day said it was no good, and he would let the store know what his diagnosis was and they would contact me. Three o'clock that afternoon still no word from leons when I called I was told " well if i could get off the phone I could get something done" Since we have been at the laundry matt for the last 4 weeks i needed something at home soon. I had to take a floor model they had for an additional $100.00 and still wait till the next day for delivery. Owner has yet to talk with me about repairing my floor the appliance manager assured me they would take care of it. I will never again purchase anything from leons. In total we have probably spent over $10000 to leons for furnisher and appliances, never again. They clearly don't give a crap about customers at all. Which is totally stupid because thats their business.

We have had an ongoing issue with our washing machine. After 5 months of persistent calling to Platinum Protection, I called the store where I purchased the machine. Within an hour, I got call back, offering to replace the machine.
Hang in there. If you get no satisfaction from one source, call another. I wonder how the actual salesperson would respond.
Ryan, I sincerely hope you are no longer allowed to enter people's homes unaccompanied.

Also it never a companies fault that you waited 4 weeks to get a new appliance. I can also just about garauntee that you showed up to the store said i need a new washer and dryer yesterday and they delivered it to you that day (if thats not customer service i dont know what is). I can also bet that the company did later fix your floor and that your full of #$%&!

What do you expect when they want to send a service tech to look at the appliance. As a appliance store employee and ex technition, You would be surprised at the amount of people that say their appliance doesn't work and they just have not turned it on! It is alot cheaper to send out an tech whos job is to know appliances to look at the product instead of taking the opinion of the customer who doesn't know a thing about appliance other than clothes go in it.

Leon's Furniture worst service ever!

My wife and I ordered a bed from Leon's for my daughter's birthday, and were told that it would absolutely be delivered on time (they had two weeks). When two weeks passed I called them to see if the bed had arrived, and was told that it wouldn't be in for another two to five weeks! I asked to speak to the manager, but he was not available. I was told that he would call me back, but he did so only three days - and several phone calls - later. The result? Tough luck. There was no apology. When the bed finally came in after a month I asked to have it delivered. Apparently Leon's wanted to be paid in advance for the delivery, which meant me coming down to the store. I asked to pay over the phone using my credit card, but apparently that was "against their policies". I canceled my order, and asked them to reimburse my credit card. They said they would, but I guess we'll just have to see if they do. Bottom line: I will never deal with Leon's again. They don't give a rat's hindquarters about their customers.

Leon's Furniture poor delivey service!

I also will never buy anything from Leon's Furniture again! I bought a five-piece bedroom suite and was initially going to pick it up. I put a down payment and within their 2 or 3 week deadline for paying the balance it was paid off. After discussing the amount of pieces we had bought we decided to get the furniture delivered. I phoned that in on the same day we paid off the balance. I agreed to have my furniture delivered on a certain day. Anyway on Thanksgiving Day I get a phone call from one of the reps and she asked when we were going to pick up our furniture. I proceeded to tell her they were going to deliver. She said she had no record of the delivery. She hung up and looked into it and she called back to tell me they couldn't deliver on the day we were suppose to and that we still owed $34.00 for delivery. I then told her I asked about that amount when I called to get it delivered and she told me then we did not owe anything. I told her to double check and she told me we did not owe. The manager called me back and admitted it was their mistake and again if we wanted we had to wait two more days to get it delivered and we still owed the $34.00. I said forget it I changed my mind about buying the furniture and went down there to get all $1,040.00 back. I will also tell all of my friends and relatives not to shop there.

Thanks for listening!

I agree with the last post. As an employee at Leon's there are some things that are out of control and our business is dictated by manufacturers, owners, customs, rail and shipyards. Im not making excuses for the company because I do know that sometimes bad things happen to good people.

The other thing is that Leon's stores are both franchise and corporate stores, that means that the stores may have different product and slightly different policies or wait times. The best thing to do is to look over your purchase BEFORE you accept it, this goes for any furniture store. We all are people not robots and unfortunatly we have to allow for a bit of human error so sometimes we miss things, forget things or make mistakes, all of which Im sure youve done at your job at some point as well.

I understand how you can feel frustrated, upset or occasionally cheated in certain circumstances but the best thing you can do is to stay calm and talk to your sales person. They want you to be happy because without you they cant live and that is the basis of commissioned sales. If talking to your sales person doesn't help then talk to management but avoid the yelling and screaming because really thats not going to get you anywhere but more frustrated. If I came in and started screaming at you at your place of business what sort of reception would I get? Things can work out the way you want them too but more often than not it will work out when your being reasonable and respectful, remembering that we are all people and there is no one trying to Maliciously hurt you in this situation.

I know the sales person who posted earlier and as a former employee (not a salesperson) I completely agree with what he is saying.

My advice to the customers is this...call head office..or send a letter via email. Don't yell and scream and act like a crazy person to someone who is working part time while in school. The associates at the store don't make the rules. If you want something exchanged, skip the yelling and write an effective letter to head office and you will get your exchange.

ALSO, if your furniture is not in perfect condition when it is delivered send it back on the truck. This will save yourself the headach and allow yourself a faster turn around to get a good working product. Exchanges take longer then normal deliveries. The goods are not yours until you have accepted them. I would also reccomend inspecting your product from top to bottom while the driver is still in your house.

I purchased $5400.00 with of items @ Leons with no interest or payment for 15 months. I called the # on the statement and asked if I could take a cheque into Leons before the due date and was told YES YES YES.

i drove 25 minute to Leons and was told that they do not accept cheques and I could not pay the bill there. I told them I called and that is what I was told so they got in the phone with city financial and they basically told me I was lying and that I was not told that I could go to any Leons to make the payment.

While there the 3 people working there stood staring at me so I had to say something to them before I left explaining I did not appreciate them glaring at me as though I was a ### or a liar.

LEONS YOU JUST GOT YOUR LAST PURCHASE FROM ME. I think that they get ticked off if people pay the bills off before the due date... They cannot make money off of you that way. They are all crooks

I am truly sorry you had a negative experience dealing with Leons. I am not very pleased with the direction of the company as of late. They have overloaded the floor with sales associates which are all struggling to make a living, This does not however excuse anyone of them to not fully disclose the company,s policies. The company will offer a 3% discount for the pick up of goods other than accessories including products under $498.00, small televisions, prints, portraits mirrors and plants etc...

With a twenty to thirty percent pay-cut in the near future by means of them adding more associates only paid by a small commission I do not see myself there much longer. Their wrongly conceived science experiment will not include me in their petrie dish. I see customers being harassed by greedy and desperate sales people, and ill-informed in the near future by the pimpled faced inexperienced newbies they so want to underpay with their new ill-conceived mad science.

While I am still their however I pride myself in honesty and would be pleased to assist you in dealing with the company in any way possible.

Leon's Furniture buyer beware (poor policy)

I purchased a 61" DLP from leons.ca and when the set arrived it had bad prism issues (purple blob) on the bottom of the screen. I contacted Leons right away and was told they have a no refund, no exchange policy. They offered to send out a repair person but who the heck should spend $3400 on a TV and have it repaired once you open the box?

I will never shop there again and strongly advice you to pay more attention to their policies before you do.

I used to work at Leons but don't anymore. I would assume that it was a Toshiba or a Samsung tv. If this is the case, heres how it works. Toshiba does NOT have a DOA policy keaving Leons with no choice but to send out a technician. Samsung on the other hand has a seven day DOA policy so it should have been covered immediately. It also depends on what store as there are corporate and franchises. Franchises run things a lot differently than the corporates. I'm not trying to make Leon's sound good as I do not work there any longer, just to help you understand what kind of restrictions the manufacturers put on Leon's.

Leon's Furniture poor service!

We have spent over $4300.00 at Leons. Expecting the best. They were more than happy to take our money. Once the money was received they than informed us that the total delivery time would be about 3 weeks. Some items arrived in the first week 2nd and so on.

The last item to arrive was our fridge. It arrived damaged. They then sent us a new one... This one was damaged as well. We have yet to receive our new fridge. It has been a total of 6 weeks now.

What has leons done for us... Nothing!

For those of you that would like to use this company.

My husbanad and I purchased an electric sofa, love seat and chair plus a king size box spring and mattress. From day one the loveseat had a grease mark on it and the right side did not fit properly. The box spring made my bed 33 inches high off the floor, talk about a rude awakening when I got up, I almost had to jump into bed. Condsidering I did not order this size box spring it was replaced. We purchased their 90 day satisfaction guarantee. I don't think anyone should have to pay for a satisfaction guaranteed policy. The box spring was replaced but then I had to argue that unless I received the new love seat, and I mean new, and not having the part replaced due to a default. We chose Leons for their customer service, value and inventory, but are vwery disappointed. The delivery people managed to get mud on my newly cleaned carpet and I had to clean it. Has customer service and respect of others property gone by the wayside. I refused to wait another week for delivery and said if I didn't have it tomorrow then they could send someone to pick up my entire purchase. Guess what, it is coming tomorrow. Will I buy here again or recommend them, not on your life. They sure don't mind selling you the best but they don't give the best service.

I also spent over $4000 at Leon's. The salesman was nice but everything went down hill after that.

For example

My kitchen range had a gash, my washer did not work. I called Leon's and they told me to call the manufacturer myself to have things fixed. Not a pleasant experience calling Samsung and Whirlpool, be prepared to be put on hold for 20 minutes.

The movers spoke french only and they scratched my walls. They were also very rough with my merchandise.

Delivery got mixed up and my mattress was not delivered on time. Again the movers were banging my matress box like it was a rag doll.

I had to wait four weeks later for my bed frame & dressers . I took a day off work on friday to wait for the delivery and I got a call that it would be delivered on Satuday!

So you end up with so much aggravation that I will have to agree:

"I WILL NEVER SHOP AT LEON"S AGAIN!"

October 6,2007 I purchased Sado dinette set and told that it's going to be delivered in 2-4 weeks.I sent an email to LEONS and asked whether it going to be delivered in my house since 4th weeks is due.I got a phone call and told me that it's going to be delivered on the 5th week , I've waited and 5th week is due. I phoned them and asked if they can update me with my order and i have been told that it's going in there warehouse and will be delivered in 6th weeks...If I only would have known about this service, I wouldn't waste my time and money just for that Dinette set and JUST tonight 9pm NOVEMBER 22, It's just now that they send me the Incomplete DINETTE SET ( MISSING TABLE BASE and MAGISEAL) . I was expecting them to bring and deliver it in the afternoon instead they came late (9pm).
