I visited this office 3 weeks ago and got a new prescription for my contact lenses and bought 1 year supply of the clear contact lenses from them. On one of the sites on the internet I found beautiful colored contact lenses with my dimensions and I ordered them. When a representative from the site called the Dr.’s office the first time, to verify the...

LensCrafters never go there

I bought $500 Chanel Sunglasses, polorized, no-line bifocals, non stratch, all the pluses. I took them back after one lense started cracking inside the lense. I was told by the manager that there are no coatings on this lense, but they buy the lense, then cut it to fit my RX and frame. She talked me like a 10 year old on how to take care of my glasses. I have been wearing glasses for 45 years and I have three pair, all purchased at Lenscrafters in NE Mall in Hurst, Tx., and I paid $500 or more for each pair. Lenscrafters will not replace the lense for me because the manager says that most people get new glasses every year anyway! This was a defective lense and I have been told that by several other eyeglass places. Shame on you, Lenscrafters, for being such a scam. Shame on you, Lenscrafters, for not standing behind your product. Too much money for such shotty products. I will never go back there.

"Polarized" is a laminate- inner, outer lens & polarized laminate sandwiched between.
The problem you are experiencing is due to the cutting/edging of the lens and/or
poor quality.
Interior damage as you described is delamination.
If Lenscrafters refuses to remake your lenses, contact THE BBB.
If necessary, write LETTERS to the editor.
The squeaky wheel gets the lens.
They already made over at least $300. PROFIT, after all expenses from you-
don't quit, don't give up.

LensCrafters cracked lens

Bought glasses less than 1 year ago-lens cracked in corner on both lens.
They will only replace if I pay 1/2 price of lens.Price quote for the new lens replacement is $185.00.This is suppose to be 1/2 off. I feel they should replace lens since they are not even 1 year old.

As a member of The BBB, Lenscrafters has an "unsatisfactory" rating.
You can easily receive the BBB report.
Call The BBB and you will receive an automated service that will ask you to type in lenscrafters local phone number.
You will immediately find out lenscrafters has for years earned The BBB's lowest rating.
Lenscrafter is not the only national optical that has earned very low marks for price issues and service issues. "Consumer Reports" lists other national opticals to strongly avoid due to excessive and very misleading pricing, regular & repeated consumer complaints regarding "Bait & Switch" issues and much, much more.
When you call a doctor's office or optical and ask "how much is" regarding contacts, frames & lenses and you don't know what lenses you want, what prescription you need, what frame you prefer & what you may wish added to the lenses, you are telling the person at the doctor's office or national optical to lie to you, mislead you, say anything they've been instructed & trained during required lectures to pull you in by giving you a low price that doesn't ever-NEVER exist. Once they start writing up your order and the prices are always $100.- $300. higher than they stated on the phone, you'll start to learn why it is IMPOSSIBLE to shop for glasses over the phone & Internet. They are well trained by experts to lie & mislead. Once you say the well worn phrase “give me a “Ballpark or range of prices” you have told them to LIE to you, and they will lie to you. Additionally, how can you expect to receive a "Ballpark" or range of prices whan you have NO IDEA what you really need or want? Do you ever call a grocery & ask the "Ballpark" price of a bag of groceries?

LensCrafters poor customer service

I was recently in to the lenscrafters store in Pineville, NC. They looked not too busy on that particular day. They are usually busy and understaffed ! So I decided to come in to get my glasses adjusted. A young white girl was sitting at a front desk helping someone and she greeted me and told me to sign in and we would be right with her. She was friendly. I signed in. Evelyn, another associate, didnt come to the sign sheet, she saw me waiting with my glasses in a ziplock bag. she confronted people coming out of the doctors office with prescritions in their hand and handed them a box and put her name in it. She never spoke to me. I approached her and she said that she was busy and the other associate was finishing up and that she could get to me quicker. The nice young lady said that she would help me in a few minutes. then i saw evelyn do the same thing, greet customer coming out of doc office. and preceded to help him as well, over me. when Melissa finished with her customer, she helped me. It only took 2 minutes for a screw and nose guards. she was very helpful and polite. she apologized for my delay. when i was leaving, evelyn didnt speak to me, she turned her head. evelyn only wanted people who were here to buy. when i need new glasses, if i come back, i will remember Melissa who took time to help me no questions asked ans stay away from that foreign saleslady ! she wont get my business, and I will tell everyone who will listen.

LensCrafters improper lens fitting

On wed. April 7, 2010 i took 2 new eye glass prescriptions to the lenscrafters in palm desert, ca. I chose 2 new frames, one for regular glasses & the other for sun glasses, both with bifocals. I asked the person several times who was helping me to be sure that there were "blanks" for the sunglasses. Finally yes. But when i wore the sun glasses i felt like my eyes were being pulled right out of my head. I called the store 2 days later, speaking to the mgr & to inquire about correcting this prob. When i did return & explained this very uncomfortable sensation. It was discoverd that the sun glass lens had not been properly inserted into the curved frame hense my viable complaint with the "pulling" feeling. The person who had heped me with this new rx was included in this situation as well as the department that puts the lenses into selected frames. Hopfully everyone at this location has learned from their error. . I do not think that i will be returning to lenscrafters as this was the second time i have the same problem with sunglasses.

Wow pay cash and your problems fade away? That being said, I assume you get paid commission and don't give a rats [censor] about people's vision. All you see are dollar signs everytime someone walks through the door. I think you are in the wrong business buddy. I've been searching on reviews about lenscrafter stores everywhere and I end up with the same general review. A disgrace to optometry. You all might as well be working at ford dealerships trying to sell cars because of what I'm reading over and over again, most lenscrafters associates are just trying to rip you off. Sorry if I offended legitimate employees trying to make a living, but after this guys comment, damn, he blew it for the whole company.

You have NO idea how many lenses the lab produces in a week.
Things happen.
Be quiet.
You should have been charged extra for the extra time spent.
We have enough to deal with.
Put them on & be quiet.
See you in two years when, again, your insurance pays for everything.
You want discounts? You got discounted service.
Pay cash & your problems fade away.

It is likely that the lenses do not fit the frame properly but it also may be due to the cleaners you are using. Most other substances other than lens cleaner or water are not safe for long term use on your glasses and can cause cracking in your lenses. (I know, because I worked in an optical lab)

It is not LensCrafters fault that you have to drive 2 hours to get there. You said that they replaced the lenses for free, what else are they supposed to do for you!? If you live a long ways away and decide to drive to get glasses then get used to driving for what you need. Obviously you drove for a reason, you should have factored in the cost of gas into the purchase price because that was a cost incurred in order for you to purchase your glasses. What your review or complaint tells me is that LensCrafters stood behind their product and you are upset because of your own decision to drive two hours to buy them.

LensCrafters staff poorly trained

I have been trying to get my daughter some contact lens from lenscrafters. We have been there several times. Their poorly trained staff gives appointments with no doctors available. They never called to inform us the contacts were available for pickup. Finally they gave us the wrong prescription. We asked for a contact lens prescription they gave us the glasses prescription so we would be forced to go back to that horrible place. They have bad attitudes with little regard for your time and money. As I have 2 insurances, i had to insist that they look at both insurances to get me the cheaper prices. This should be automatic. I will never go to Lenscrafters again.

I received poor service and almost no real help outside of "fashion advice" from the obviously amaturish staff at Lenscrafters. After paying neraly $600 for 2 pair of glasses, I returned 5 times and still never got a proper adjustment. I went to my optometrist and got the glasses fitted properly and was told the frame selection was poor for my prescription. I will never go back and advise all others to beware. They are WAY overpriced, push products and obviously don't have a clue what they are doing.

I bought a pair of glasses and frames in September of 2017. The frames apparently have a painted on tint. This tint stared to peal off, but it didn't bother me at first because it was not noticeable on the outside of the frames. It then started to peel off on the outside of the frame, so I went to LensCrafters and all they would offer me was a new frame @ 50% off. This is a defect of the frame and not damage, so I would expect LensCrafters to replace them at no charge. I was told that it was past the 90 warranty and that they would not replace them. I asked them if it meant that they were loosing a customer and they just said "I'm sorry, but that is our policy" Where is customer service these days to gain customer loyalty?

I have never been treated so poorly in all my life. I will nevver go back and I encourage all oters to find somewhere else to buy glasses. After a 3 year interval, I went with my family to get new prescription filled. When we went in a clerk came over to help us. (I have to call her a clerk as she is not a lady or an assistant) As I was looking at the frames she was bragging about how she gets her glasses for free, even the expensive ones. I found a pair that I liked and she got all excited, stating that she had not seen this pair before. She literally GRABBED THEM OUT OF MY HANDS and took them up to the register! My husband and I stood there absolutely dumbfounded. I did not want to deal with her any more so I took advantage when another employee entered the scene, actually telling her how how did and did not like glasses on the clerk helping us. We had gone through many glasses and we had established a possibility pile when another customer came in the door. The same clerk then came over to my selection of about 4 possibilities and TOOK ONE OF THE FRAMES THAT I HAD CHOSEN to make my decision from! She took this pair up to the front and gave them to the customer! By this time I am in shock. The customer leaves and the 3 sales people in the store RUN to the door, again leaving us standing there, and the man that had been helping me starts saying that the lady just retired from the service as a major and she has this fancy car, a BMW I believe he said! The lady clerk that had taken the glasses out of my hand then made the comment that she was glad she had given the glasses to her as they would look much better on her! By this time I am hurt and shocked and I said I thought the glasses would look just as good on me as they did on her. THere was dead silence. The manager then sent the guy to lunch and the clerk disappeared to whereever leaving us standing alone again! I was in tears as we left the store. I have to wonder if this is more than rudeness. Perhaps it is even prejudice as I am older and overweight and I do not drive a fancy car. I can't begin to tell you the humiliation that I felt and still do. And by the way, have you ever tried to get ahold of upper management of LensCrafters? Impossible! I did receive a genuine apology from the Orcahrd Town Center but as of yet not from the manager and clerk of that store!

Went to store today to get glasses. I took a printed out copy of the frames i wanted, and my insurance information. When the glasses were done they had used the wrong frames(More expensive ones) and added an optoion to the lenses without discussing any of this with me. My insurance did not cover this extra stuff. And the lens option was not needed for reading glasses. I dont think it is right to have to pay for stuff i didnt ask for, and the fact that she got the wrong frames when i gave her a print out from your website with an i. D. Number on it and it wasnt caught till they were done should not be my problem. But im the one who had to pay out of pocket for these problems. This was the first time i have been to lenscrafters, it was not a good experience i guess i am hoping that you will make it right before i decide if i will go again, to another store thank you.

My husband and I both went in for new glasses. He bought one pair of new glasses, I got new glasses and sunglasses. They had the prescription flip-flopped on my sunglasses and the prescription for my regular glasses was just never right. I went back to wearing my old glasses for normal use. I decided I would never get glasses there again.

My husband went back a year later to get new glasses because the ones he had broke and needed to be replaced quick. It's been two years ago now and we started getting a bill from them for $29 for that visit. He paid by check before he left his appointment, when they added up the bill why didn't they give him the right amount then? And why would you come back two years later and bill somebody for $29?

Tawnya, you should not have accepted them and stood your ground hun. You would be surprised what you can get accomplished when you will not just go along with someone elses mistake. I would have never accepted them and would not have left until I had satisfaction. You should ask for the corporate office or even the CEOs number next time. Belive me, they do not want that much trouble and I guarantee you they would have done something. Don't let people run all over you, stand up for yourself!

LensCrafters another set of horrible customer service

I went in because my I was struggling more and more with my glasses on the computer. Originally I went to Walmart to try and save some money, but I was having a hard time wearing those glasses. Instead of taking them back to Walmart, I figured I would just spend the extra money and go to a "real" store/doctor. Big mistake.

The sales people at the galeria at tyler store are so rude it is amazing. They talk down to you like you're twelve and never let you expain a thing. The original lady I had talked to asked if I had vision insurance, I was trying to explain to her that I just have health insurance and that they offered a discount, but I would get half way through the sentance and she'd cut me off and continued to ask me if it was a vision insurance or not.

Then after I got my new glasses I had a terrible time adjusting to them, so since the doctor told me if I had a hard time I should come back and they'd readjust them. Apparently they really didn't like that because all I got when I called again was attitude. The second doctor that examined told me no less than 3 times that if this adjustment didn't work this is as good as it gets.
I explained to her that I don't actually want to come back, it's a pain to go to that store, but apparently that didn't dissuade her from continuing to talk down to me and tell me I can't go back and forth and exchange lenses. This is the only time I've come in for a readjustment! It's not like I've been there 3 times already.
Then she proceded to push contacts. I told her I couldn't afford them, I already had spent a lot of money on the glasses. That didn't dissuade her from continuing to push the contacts, and to tell me that the nosepads on the glasses I have were "gross". I really did not need the color commentary, and I didn't want to pay for contacts. (Needless to say I didn't get contacts, they won't get any more of my business).

Anyway, the upshot is now I'm waiting on the new pair of glasses, but I will NEVER go back to this store again. They are all EXTREMELY rude, arrogant and most certainly do not care about their customers.

Clean your nosepads with a Q-Tip & alcohol.
They WERE gross!
Everyone that saw you, saw those disgusting nose pads.
We should not have touched your glasses.
You may have given us hepatitus!
Walmart, too? You got exactly what you paid for.
National opticals?
Have you yet learned your expensive lessons?

LensCrafters extermely poor service, late, prejudice

My father ordered prescription glasses from Lenscrafters at towncenter mall in Kennesaw Ga. We did not get any phone call from them so I called after 3 weeks. Store rep said they are in store Lab. 3 weeks ago at the time of purchase they were being sent out to Ohio. Then a girl who said she was the manager told me that Ohio is backed up with Orders & lenses just came in. Next day i went to pick them up. My dad couldn't see through the reading glasses. Rep looked irate when asked for reasons for blurriness. He was RUDE (he did not yell but his temperament with my father & I was very mean because my dad couldn't see through the lenses & he didn't really felt like dealing with us). Lets see what happens what happens after few days. Per rep the eyes should adjust to the lenses in few day.

I had something like that happen once, and I did need to go back to the optometrist who did the test and wrote the Rx for the glasses. I was retested by another optometrist, and the result was a different Rx! After that, Lenscrafters gave me at least one pair of new lenses at no additional charge. It's true that the people who provide the glasses, use the Rx they receive for each eye, fit the lenses into the frame, and can have nothing whatsoever to do with a customer's disatisfaction. Once, however, I ordered lenses and frames from the optical department of a major department store and couldn't see properly when I received them. I gave it a couple of days, and then went over to Lenscrafters with the glasses. They actually found the problem: The lenses were not positioned properly into the frame...something about the axis... I was so grateful to Lenscrafters, got a refund from the other company, and reordered the replacement glasses from Lenscrafters! I have been their customer ever since--about 21 yrs.

Somehow in your tirade, you forgot to explain why Lenscrafter was prejudice. Just because the ethnicity of the associate and that of the customer are different and they have a disagreement, doesn't make one of them prejudice.

If the associate was rude, I would suggest sending a formal complaint to LensCrafters corporation. They are very good when it comes to responding to customer complaints, and I can almost guarantee you that the associate's behavior would be discussed with a manager. As for your father's vision, try out the glasses for a few days; and, if the problems persist, either return the glasses or better yet, go get a follow up eye exam with your doctor. Optometrists do make mistakes, and sadly it is the opticians or the lab technicians who most often get to face the customers' scorn. Furthermore, LensCrafters does give you a 3-month prescription guarantee where we cover entirely for any prescription changes the customer might have. It is something we stress to customers at the Canadian location I personally work at, and you have every right to avail it.

I understand your frustrations, but there are means to get your problems solved. We are in the customer care business, and at our end, most of us try to do the best we can to make sure you go home happy, and come to us for life. At the end of the day, despite being a part of the same company, each store is different and offers a unique experience. And sadly, this particular GA location couldn't provide you with the ultimate customer experience we'd like you to be a partake in.

Lastly, I must add that I am not someone from HR, just an associate meandering through forums in boredom, stuck at the lower echelons of the salary scale.

LensCrafters poor quality of lens

After the forth pair of lens they still can't get it right. Now they refuse to refund my money, they want to keep trying to get the lens right. 7 weeks 4th pair ! I think not.
I've worn glasses for 30 years and never have I had as poor of quality as from them.
I've never returned a pair of glasses ever in my life. These lens are crap. They even used (so they said) the best material they have.
Well they have poor techs working on them too, first 3 lens they gave me had scratches all over them. But they asked why I couldn't just wear them like that!
I told them the Purple Fringe was the worst I've ever seen, the head tech asked me what that was.
I told him I would expect someone in his position should know that.
(look it up on internet)

If you are doing your research and looking for quality... DO NOT GO TO LENSCRAFTERS !

Purple fringe is more of a photo term- in the eyeglass field you would refer to it as chromatic aberration. As for your situation I would go to the LC website and contact customer service via email. Most stores, after going through that many remakes, would prefer to just give the money back than dealing with the issue again.

LensCrafters paint comes off the frames

I have had 2 pairs of glasses from LC that the paint came off of. The first time they gave me frames for free. the second and worst time, I was a couple days over the one year mark and was too busy to get in. I was using permanent marker on the frames daily so I wouldn't look ridiculous. They would not credit me past the 1 year mark. So if your glasses fail you, get in there ASAP even if you hafta cancel meetings at work or with sick patients like I had to do.

Nobody wants to hear the sob story about how you have to neglect sick patients to get your glasses problems solved. Two different frames and the same problems happen? Obviously it's your fault for the way you care for your frames. It's not their fault you manhandle your frames causing paint to chip off. You were aware of the warranty and how you have exactly a year, therefore you should've found a way in. Unless you work 9am-9pm seven days a week, there is no excuse.

LensCrafters horrible customer service

After having my eyes examined to re-order contacts I received a call from the Lenscrafters in Sanford, Florida mall to change my prescription on my form...When I ordered a 6-month supply of contacts I flew to Illinois for the Christmas holidays. I have not been able to read at all and wore them for almost 2 weeks until I flew back home to Florida..

I checked the copy of the contact prescription in my files and they had given me the worn prescription to begin with. I am planning to return to the Sanford mall tomorrow after classes at college and will receive the right prescription. I am very pissed them again after this horrible customer service...

LensCrafters poor service poor customer service

Dec 6 9009 Went in for exam and 2 pairs of glasses.I wanted 1 to be sunglasses.First she made out order we left after leaving store and on orad home she called about 20 minutes later and told us that the pair my hubby ordered couldnt be ordered so we had to turn around go back and re-order.We had to wait another 3 to 7 days before the money showed back on our medical insurance debit card.We got our glasses about 3 weeks after we ordered. But not my sunglasses. Those came later and the lenses are bad and unacccetable by their standards. So now here it is 1 month later still waiting for sunglasses and I am getting every excuse they can come up with as to what is wrong.LOVED it today when they said that they talked to my husband on his cell phone. He never got a call and he does not leave his cell phone laying around where others can use it.HELLO lenscraftres DO NOT LIE.

So you're mad that Lenscrafters rejected lenses they received from their lab because they weren't to their specific quality standards? You're right, they should've given you those lenses since you're incapable of being patient. They also don't make up conversations they had with people, as they have no motive. I'm sure they wanted your glasses out of the store so they didn't have to hear any more whining out of you.

LensCrafters scam, do not use

I purchased my eyeglasses from Lencrafters, Camp Creek Market Place, Fast Point, GA. I returned to Lencrafters, the same store the purchase was made, and ask for my nose pads to be replaced. They did replace but charged me $10 plus. That was several months past.

Today, I visited Pearle Vision and ask for nose pad replacements. Pearle Vision replaced the pads without a charge and did not even ask where I purchased my eyeglasses.

Lenscrafters have lost a customer.

I work at the Lenscrafters in Joplin, Mo. We always gladly do free adjustments for our customers, including new nose pads and screws. It doesn't matter if the glasses came from us or not.

We have now changed our repair policy and all repairs and adjustments are free, no matter where you bought your glasses! We'd love to help you out with any repairs in the future. =) -Lenscrafters employeee

Yep, optidude is correct. Luxottica owns both, so go ahead and get your next pair of glasses at Pearl vision. I'm Luxottica would love your business! They have signs that say the price for an adjustment, screws, or nose pads. If the charge didn't seem right to you, you should've said something. The service to a pair of glasses purchased at Lenscrafters is free, but they probably assumed you didn't purchase them there. Them assuming is wrong, but you not complaining to the associate, but taking it to the internet is just as wrong.

LensCrafters late delivery and poor customer service

My mother had an eye exam from a Dr. in the local LensCrafter store and then ordered glasses with the help of Debbie in that store. This was in November with an estimated delivery date of 11/23/09. It is now 12/21/09 and we still do not have the glasses. The store blames it on their lab because they did not make the glasses as ordered. I made a call over a week ago and Debbie then advised that the lab was just sitting on the order since they didn't know how to fill it. This is very bad customer service!

LensCrafters worst place to go

I purchased a pair of Oakley glasses from LensCrafters in San Mateo Califoria. I paid in advance with insurance to have the prescription filled. They called me a few weeks later to tell me Oakley could not put a prescription in those frames (why didnt the sales rep know that?).

I tried to find another pair at their store but didnt like any. I returned a few months later with a pair I purchased elsewhere and requested to hve the prescription filled in them.

When picked up the glasses I complained that the prescription was not correct and it was blurry. They told me they were sorry but the 30 days had expired. I have been trying for weeks to get someone to realize that the 30 day clock should start ticking when a pair of glasses with a prescription has been received - not when they are ordered and unable to be filled with a prescription (especially if due to their error).

Although that makes common sense this organization has policies in place that store managers cannot be deviate from no matter how ludicrous.

There is no way to escalate to anyone else other than customer service. They told me they will look into it but so far are not returning my calls.

Costco has a much better return policy, very high quality, nice people and better prices. You can take your own frames in to be filled.

I would not recommend going to LensCrafters if you can avoid it.

First of all, Oakley is different from the rest of the frames at Lenscrafters. Some can not be manufactured in store and have to be sent to the Oakley lab. Depending on your prescription, lens material, coatings, and ocular center, the frame may not be made with what you want. Most of the time the computer system identifies the prescription being out of range for the particular frame, but some slip through the crack and only the Oakley lab technician can determine if the glasses can be made. There isn't direct communication between the store and the Oakley lab until the lab determines they can not manufacture the product. That's the way Oakley is, and they play by their own rules.

The 30 day guarantee absolutely applies from the date you pick up the glasses, not the date you order them! I would call corporate or visit another location and explain your situation.

I had a check sent to my local store Lenscrafters in Phoenix AZ located on Camelback Road. The check didnt have my name on it, so the store elected to just case the check instead of holding it and see if a customer comes in. I showed up 2 times and was told I had to provide cancelled check. I had to request a copy of the check to get my refunded and they still wont after the 9th time visiting their store. Its 85.00! and no services were provided! I have bee trying to get my money back for 3 mo. DONT shop there

LensCrafters service and product

In September, we went to LensCrafters to make prescription eyewear for my wife. She made one pair as prescription sunglasses and another pair as progressives for her work and daily use. We were told initially it would be an hour and within minutes were told it would take 10 days because it was to be sent away to the lab. 9 days later we got a call saying there would be a delay because one lense was of the wrong prescription. We waited again for a week and when we got in and tried it out, my wofe found that the prescription was not correct. One side was the wrong prescription. It was in fact worse than what she was using in the past. So we told them about this problem and also noted that what was to be the good lense was chipped. We also asked why was it not edged polished as her last pair as was requested. They then proceeded to polish the edges and fix the chip. We waited and when we got it back found that the removal of the chip actually caused a dent in the edge. The optician said nothing till we told her. She then replied that she knew about it and only wanted to see how it fitted. We asked why was the service so poor and the long wait to get a good pair of glasses. The answer we got was 'I only work here, I have no conttrol of what goes on'. I think that is the lamest excuse of service and should not be tolerated by any client or business. We then had them redo the prescription to what we wanted and they again told us another 10 days. Today is Tuesday December 8/2009. We were told this on November 24th. We called them last Thursday December 3rd and was only told it was not in as yet. At no point did they call to explain any delays or issues. Today, I am about to call them again and complain. But from what I see on this site, I will not hesistate to take my business elsewhere the next time. I will also be talking to our family doctor who we have been going to for the last nearly 20 years. Unfortunately his clinic is next door to Lenscrafters and he needs to know how bad their service is. I hope he ends his business relations with this Lenscrafters outlet.

They say "in most cases" glasses can be made in an hour. If you order something that the lab does not have the machinery or products to create the lenses, they have to be special ordered. They informed you of this. You didn't come back an hour later, and "Surprise! It'll be another 10 days!" Some stores accidentally place a polish on lenses because their machine has this set as a default. They have to change it to not polish a lens. A polish is an extra charge, so I hope you're not complaining about not receiving what you didn't pay for. Sometimes lenses received from the lab don't read correctly and have to be ordered. This is why they reordered it. Plastic lenses chip. If it was in a semi-rimless, it will definitely chip. Perhaps your transaction wasn't the most efficient, but they seem as if they are working to reorder the lenses as many times as it takes to get them correct. They would probably appreciate you taking their business elsewhere as you have complained on this website about them working to solve your situation.

LensCrafters guarantee scam

I took my daughter to get her first pair of glasses. The girl convinced me to upgrade her lenses to a polycarbonate lens with a scratch resistant coating because they're better for kids and resist cracking, scratches and would be safter for her...guilty mom reasons, etc. So I paid more.

It has not been 30 days. They refused to take the glasses back because the 30 day "no questions asked" guarantee clearly states they have to be in the same condition as when they were picked up and they wouldn't have given her a pair of glasses with a crack in them. She is not athletic, the frames are in perfect condition and the crack is coming from the side of the lens with no other damage around it.

I am sure this has happened before. I talked with another professional who said that they don't use this material because it's really poor quality and doesn't understand why Lenscrafters would use it and why they charge so much for it because it's the cheapest material you can get. Read: not worth the extra $200.

I found this Industry Trouble Shooting Guide which I will bring with me to a different Lenscrafters tomorrow. This article clearly states that often the cracking will not show up for days after the lens is made. This makes it possible for us to be returning them in their original condition, with defective lenses. They just weren't visible at the time.

Hopefully anyone who has this problem can find this article. I think it's terrible that Lenscrafters knows this material is notorious for cracking, it's very low quality and sells it at a ridiculous price. Consumers don't know anything about lenses and are at the mercy of retailers who'll rob them blind in "about an hour".

First of all doctors prescribe (Demand) polycarbonite for kids for it's impact resistance (safety). Secondly, there is not an epedemic of cracking polycarbonite lenses. The problem you had is either caused by lab manufacturing, or the frame. In either case the particular store you were in SHOULD have made it right. It is irresponsible of you to claim a retailer to be "robbing people blind." Anywhere you go should be putting your child in polycarbonite lenses. Millions are sold, some have problems, just like with any problem. Do better research, and deal with an individual store that will take accountability for their mistakes.

LensCrafters beware

Today I went to a scheduled appointment with a doctor at Lenscrafters in Boise ID, for an eye examination. I planned on buying glasses there also. I filled out the required paperwork and was waiting for my appointment when I asked the receptionist "where is the restroom?" He told me customers (we are not called patients or clients) are not allowed to use the restroom but must go next-door to Target.

There may not be laws requiring doctors to provide facilities for "customers", but how weird is it to be waiting for a scheduled appointment and told to go to another business to do your "business".

I am deeply upset and dissatisfied with the way that I was handled by North Star Mall security and the assigned Police Officer, on today 11/17/2009. Specifically, I would like to file a complaint and report for this incident.

Today I went to Lens Crafters and my $ 300 cell phone was stolen from the store counter while I was in the store. I used the phone in front of Lens Crafters employees for I called Lens Crafters Customer Service from the store.

After sitting with Brittany to price glasses, I sat my phone on the customer counter. I walked away to replace a pair of display glasses and my phone was gone. At the time there were about 4 employees in the store, and one customer.

I insisted on filing a report and complaint to make Lens Crafters and the mall aware of the incident, but constantly got the runaround, being told that I could file the complaint on line, there was no phone number to call.

Unbeknownst to me, security was called, Mr. Mendoza. He spoke to me and seemed helpful at first. He then told me that an officer would come to take the report, Officer Ingram. I told him that I would walk to my car and return. I gave him my second cell phone number in case I missed him.

As I walked to the car, 3 officers approached me, Ingram asked "may I help you". I told him no, for I did not know that he was the one that Mendoza called. Ingram did not asked me if I needed help with my phone situation so I figured that I would wait until I returned to Mendoza. Immediately officer Ingram exerted his authority, through me against the wall, handcuffed me and threatened to arrest me if I said one word. As on lookers watched, he asked that at most I could shake my head as he asked questions, and if I said one word he would arrest me. Mendoza then said to me "You really *** up now", while Officer Jason told him he should not have said those words.

Ingram was very much in my face trying to provoke me to get arrested. I did not allow this to happen and was released.

I was told by Lens Crafters and by Mendoza that I could file a complaint and incident report and I wanted to. I still do. But, I was told by Ingram that there was no such complaint that I could file and that if I wanted to file a report with the police department nothing would happen, but I could try to do so on line.

I have never been so humiliated in my life. I am a black man. All parties involved were Latino or White. This felt really strange.

Additionally, Lens Crafter employees were very customer unfriendly. Particularly Brian, the manager on duty. He did not want to come to speak with me about this matter, though Brittany tried vigorously. He tried to bribe me by offering deep discounts on glasses for the humiliation. I told him that it would not erase the humiliation and he shouted to Mendoza, "take him away from my store". Michael, another Lens Crafters employees "freaked out" (according to Brittany as well) for some reason and became arrogant and argumentative with me about the matter, though he was marginally involved. He showed me his iPhone and argued that he had no reason to steal my phone, though I never accused him of stealing it. Ultimately, Michael called security. Brian then came out explaining that security was called to help me file a report. Little did I know they were called to harass and torment me.

I know that I had and used my phone in the Lens Crafter store. There was a total of 4 employees in the store (George, Brian, Michael, and Brittany), and one customer. There is a possibility that my phone was stolen by one of the employees and I wanted to report the incident. I was never able to report the incident, but am now sending this email to you, and will contact the SA Police Department.

Eventually, I did get the phone number of the Lens Crafters Regional Manager, Terry Garcia, from Brittany. I left a voice mail with her and 2 with North Star Mall management. I do believe that Brittany was trying to be helpful.

The fact the Lens Crafters staff, SAPD, and North Star Mall security was so demeaning and humiliating for someone who broke no laws, is something that you should seriously investigated, if North Star Mall management cares. If not, I have no doubt that everyone's absence of politeness will flare up into a more significant problem some day.

As for me, I never plan to go to your mall to shop (nor Lens Crafters) and fill out reports on this matter, post blogs, inform friends, management, media and authorities.

What a horrific experience! You really should investigate this matter and let me know how to go about filing a formal report and complaint.

Your prompt attention to this matter would be appreciated.

December 8, 2009

Dear Mr. William McManus, Mr. Mayor, and US Department of Justice:

I wanted to inform you of my decision not to pursue filing an SAPD Internal Affairs complaint. Coming to this conclusion was not easy for I assure you that the incident as I presented did occur. In spite of knowing the mall surveillance tapes would vindicate me, I still feel that the best decision at this time is to drop this matter.

Here are my reasons:

1. The SAPD Internal Affairs process is threatening and intimidating, i.e.:

• Sworn notarized SAPD-written statement required, and my already written statement not accepted
• Potential requirement to take a polygraph test
• Potential perjury exposure
• Only the complainant (me) is subjected to the above requirements, but not witnesses involved in the incident.

2. Lawyers, whose primary interest is making money off of my misfortune. I never had interest in filing suit against anyone. I have maintained that I was only interested in preventing the treatment that I experienced from happening to anyone else. I worked briefly with one attorney, Melaina Hood, who wanted to charge over $ 3000 just to sit in the Internal Affairs interview with me. ...this was not to file a suit...just to sit in the Internal Affairs interview.

3. Fear of retaliation. I have searched the net to find numerous stories of unethical, as well as questionable SAPD Officer's behavior and practices. This includes the very officer who was abusive to me. It is for this reason that I have posted my experience on the web to make it public knowledge. Similarly, I have found numerous complaints on North Star Mall and LensCrafters that seem to have gone nowhere.

4. I have informed the public of this. I have posted my experience to the web on various blogs. I have received support and feedback from others, including attorneys trying to encourage me to sue. Again, I am not interested in suing. I am only interested in civic responsibility.

5. Avoidance of stress. I came to realize that pursuing SAPD will be very stressful and could be damaging to my health.

6. No confidence. I don't feel that anything will ever be done to rectify my concerns. I now realize that the SAPD has had more significant police abuse complaints that go back to the 1960's and 1970's, many involving minorities. I believe that the federal government has had to intervene historically. There seems to be a very deep rooted problem with SAPD.

7. So far, no or marginal follow-through. I have written and called the mayor's office, the US Justice Department, the San Antonio City Council, and various other private and public agencies. I never expected anything miraculous to happen with regard to these communications, but do feel good that I put the story out there so that perhaps on the 1000th such complaint, someone will "get it". Again, the most responsive individuals have been attorneys interested in "a buck". I avoided them, though. I hopeful that LensCrafters and North Star Mall will respond with the results of their investigation, but will not hold my breath on this.

I want to make it unequivocally that I am telling the truth, and posed no threat verbally or otherwise to justify the treatment that I experience from SAPD, Lens Crafters, and North Star Mall.

God is my witness, as well as North Star Mall surveillance tapes. I was profiled by SAPD, North Star Mall security and LensCrafters. Unfortunate to each of you, I am not a criminal or thug, but instead a well educated and well travelled citizen.

However, I will not proceed with the SAPD Internal Affairs complaint for the process/system is too intimidating and all the odds seem to be stacked against an honest citizen who wants to make "bad things" good. This is unfortunate, but "it is what it is".

I have found some relief in the fact that I have voiced, documented, and publicized my concerns about North Star Mall, LensCrafters and SAPD.

In fact, this email to you will be published on the web, by the time you read it.

Warm Regards,

Kevin M. Vidal
