Lenovo / huge shipping delays!

1 United States Review updated:

I ordered a z61t thinkpad from lenovo on 11/14th 2006. It was shipped exactly one month later on 12/13th and is supposed to be delivered by ups on 12/22nd.

Complaint #1. In spite of being the 3rd largest pc producer in the world, lenovo is taking more than a month to ship a laptop.

Complaint #2. The customer service reps have no clue about when your system might ship. So calling them is just a waste of time.

Complaint #3. After going through several forums, I realized that lenovo has this problem for the past one year, which shows their carelessness towards the customer.

Complaint #4. When I complained about the huge unexplained delay, the only option given to was to cancel my order. No compensation what so ever.

Complaint #4. After reading the threads by several other customers like me in forums. Notebookreview. com, I came to know this. All the orders from 10/30th to 11/27 for z61t model were fulfilled on 12/13th. This is certainly not fair for the guy who ordered on 10/30th.

I ordered a z61T in december'06 with a shipping date due on Jan 16. Not only did i not receive the notebook but the customer service reps and managers have been lying about the delay.

I spent more than 20 hours on the phone with the Lenovo customer service reps and they still dont know when my notebook will be shipped, one chap gives a discount and another takes back the discount and puts the price back to the original. One manager says it will be shipped in 2 days and the other says in 3 weeks.

They are all over the place, lying, lying and giving me pure BS. My order delivery date and price are so volatile, they keep changing every week.

Me is in a quandary. I wasted so much of time just to understand whats going on. Still shamelessly I'm somehow waiting for my thinkpad.

I've purchased one N 3000 note book with Vista preloaded, the damn thing is so slow I've to switch it on before going to my bath room and come back and work on it. The thing is real depressing and leaves no room for any adjustments. The whole set is disgusting and a cheating device for customers. I wish I could get rid of the notebook.

I've just bought one Lenovo N 3000 series note book with per loaded vista, the thing is so disgusting that I'm planning to sue the company for that. It is so slow that I've to switch it on before going to wash room and when I come back it is ready, it is so slow and painful, I'm cursing myself why I bought it. Cheating ads and cheating customers. God help us .

After reading all the nightmares about Lenovo's problems fulfilling orders on this machine I ended up calling about my early July T61P order (after multiple emails were ignored.)

As others report, they 'lost' the order. After countless hours of call backs, escalation, transfers to folks who couldn't/wouldn't help and statements that what I'd ordered so long ago was no longer available I finally got to a senior manager who claimed that he'd sorted out the mess and I'd have the machine soon.
I asked for compensation and it was refused.

    Several more weeks go by.

    Finally the machine arrives.

Open it up, fire it up and see that the 15.4" WUXGA is the worst LCD I have ever seen. There's a tremendous amount of light bleeding up the screen from the bottom and even on the brightest setting it's very dim.

Again I contacted Lenovo on this.

Their response: That's perfectly normal and well within our specifications, but you may send it in for inspection. NO, we will not upgrade you to on-site service (a $50 difference.) I told them to go ahead and pick the machine up as this is unacceptable in what is supposed to be a top of the line machine.
A full 7 days later they finally arranged for their carrier to pick the defective machine up.

I don't understand how Lenovo could have gotten such a good reputation with all the complaints I read about on here (and all over the net) and the absolute proof in my experience that many of these are true.

They have the machine now, if they return it as is I'm done with them. It's been a very unpleasant experience that's for sure. Having dealt with companies like HP, Dell and Sony in the past this experience with Lenovo puts them at the absolute bottom of the barrel in terms of customer service and quality.

This all appears to be so true. The company must tender apology and replace such faulty system.

I totally agree to the above comments. I had the same issue, and had to cancel my Order due the long shipping time tken by them to deliver my T61. And now i am having issues getting bak my money. The customer support of Lenovo is by far the worst that i have seen. Can somebody tell me how can i raise this issue and get back my money soon.

Their delay still exists today! I ordered a y730 on 9/21 and its 11/01 and still haven't received the laptop. My new ESD is 11/13, which will be almost 2 months of delays! The things that really bugs me is that i get a new excuse every time i call, from exuberant demand which lasts 2+ months and shortages from batteries to LCD screens. But when i asked them why does their online ESD gets shorter every week after my ordered date, they would just kiss ### and brush me off. I guess it takes more than 3 years for this company to shape up. Simply pathetic...

I'm truly angry with the Lenovo product and its customer service. I ordered a IdeaPad Y710 in June and it'd been having these unexplained problems since the first day I got it: random black screen freezes, poor sound quality, and a non-functioning headphone jack. Having sent it to the depot three times to get it fixed, it seems to come back worse with even more symptoms than there was in the first place. Then I decided to have it exchanged, even though it'd take this even more ridiculous process of making phone calls and being chronically put on hold. Finally, this one woman named Lakeysha Talley from Customer Complaint services promised to give me an exchange as soon as she receives the laptop personally to see if the problems are legitimate, then she ignores me for more than a week (not calling back, not picking up my calls and needless to say, I haven't got that exchange either). So this morning I had to call the Lenovo number and talked to a few operators in India for hours before being finally connected to that Lakeysha's colleague, who makes the same promise to look at the defective product and has now, unsurprisingly, gone off the grid. How on earth do these people think they can get away with this bs? Did they assume we'd just forget about this issue as long as they don't bring it up?

I'm having the same problem with my X300 order placed on 1/14. Initially, the rep said that this was an outlet product so there is no "build time" for the unit and would he said, be shipped 7 to 10 business days. I logged on to the Lenovo tracking site and it said that the "shipping date" is the 1/23. So I called again and the rep told me not to pay attention to the website, since those are "just computer generated dates." The "real" shipping date she told me was 1/30. I asked why. Then her telephone service rep training kicked in: "We are sorry for any inconvenience." So she had no idea why but was absolutely sure that "once it has shipped" it would "just" take another 3 to 5 business days. I then asked if I can change the shipping method to overnight. To which she told me that if I did that, it would actually take longer to ship the unit since the complex mathematical algorithm involved in shipping a 6 pound box would have to be started over again. So it looks like my order would take about another 2 weeks, on top of the week that I have already waited. I hope there are no other snags along the way. I will never be placing a order with Lenovo online again.

I have tried for three weeks to get anyone in Lenovo to return my phone calls. I send in my IdeaPad for service at there Repair depot and my laptop was returned in worse condition that I send it to them. When I have called to question them I was told someone would call me back to discuss the issue. I have called back 5 times over the past three weeks and still have not spoke to anyone about my issues. This company doe not care about customer support.

I think Lenovo laptops are creating issues these days and when compared to Acer laptops, Must say Acer laptops are quite good.So they I had bought Acer spin 3 laptops and must say Acer have done a great work in manufacturing this kind of laptop, You should give a try to this laptop as it is having a great design, long battery backup, and with good features. If still, the problem persists contact https://babasupport.org/pc/acer-customer-service/161 for their help. Their technical team is quite good.
