Legacy Visa / It is a huge money making scam

1 United States Review updated:

Legacy Visa ***, they rip you off with opening charges that are not legit. Credit limit of 300 and charge you initial fee of 175.00 freaking scammers. They prey on young kids trying to get credit, old people who are on low income, and people who have bad credit and are trying to help build up their credit scores. Well here is an idea, if you don't have money, don’t buy it!!! Credit card companies are out to get money on money that you borrow. Why pay $600 for something that only costs 100???? Don't do it. Save your money, and if you insist on credit cards then stay the heck away from LEGACY VISA.

On 5/14/07 I sent a $9.00 check for a pre-paid Visa to Legacy Visa - a susidiary of 1st Natl Bank. The Check was cashed but no card ever arrived. I called the 1-800 # on the in closed pamphlet, but was given the run around, not once but several times. I requested they just return my money, if a card wasn't going to be issued. I was told they they never received my fee and refused to do anything about it. I was hoping to use this card to re-establish my credit, after my divorce, but to no avail. I WAS JUST PLAIN - RIPPED OFF BY THIS EXCUSE OF A COMPANY.

My next option is to take this to one of our local TV stations that handle situations like this. If you are interested in this type of action and/or a class action against this company - contact me at my e-mail above.

I was invited to apply. Not that I felt special, so I went on anyway to apply. I don't have the card yet and hope I won't get it. But if I do, I don't want to use it. I want to send it back. Will I still be charged a fee and can I post a flag or comment on the various credit reporting agencies? I wish I had read this site before I sent that blasted application in to Legacy. Once I close the acct. can they still do damage to an even damaging credit score? Thanks for your advice..anyone.
