LeaseTrader.com Getting rid of a lease

In the past, I only searched LeaseTrader to attempt to acquire a car and while I never closed a deal, it was an OK experience.

However, trying to list the car entirely different case. Literally seconds after I completed the first half of a listing, before I even saw the online prices, somebody from lease trader called me and told me that I need to spend $500 to $700 and that was normal for my type of car. After I said "no" several times, he then offered me a 50% discount.

I still said "no" because it started feeling like I was talking to a used car salesman. Now, I'm on their email list, which would seem normal, BUT THE ONLY WAY TO UNSUBCRIBE IS TO WRITE SNAIL MAIL LETTER TO FLORIDA!

Their reasoning is priceless:
"If you no longer wish to receive emails from LeaseTrader, please write to us at LeaseTrader Customer Service, 1835 E. Hallandale Beach Blvd. Suite 431, Hallandale beach FL 33009. E-mail transmission cannot be guaranteed to be secure or error-free as information could be intercepted, corrupted, lost, destroyed, arrive late or incomplete, or contain viruses."

Somehow, every other Company in the world has figured out how to do an unsubscribe link, but not LeaseTrader. And I love how a snail mail letter is supposed to solve all of the supposed problems with e-mail listed above.

This may be a legitimate business, but they certainly have shady practices.

LeaseTrader.com The threats start as soon as you place your ad.

On June 27, 2015, Lease Trader charged me $19.95 for service I did not order, and threatened me with legal/collection action if I contested the charges. Because of this, I canceled the ad I had placed with Lease Trader that was to last until my vehicle was successfully leased. I never received any material services from Lease Trader, and I canceled my service with them and removed my ad on June 27, 2015.

On May 3, 2015, I registered on LeaseTrader.com to explore the possibility of selling my leased vehicle.

On May 4, 2015 at 10:14 a.m., I received a telephone call from Lease Trader. Their representative tried to sell me on placing an ad with them, and claimed that they would have no problem finding me a buyer for my vehicle.

On May 4, 2015 at 10:16 a.m., I received an email from Lease Trader asking me to call them back as soon as possible.

On May 4, 2015 at 5:39 p.m., I received an email from Lease Trader stating that they had a candidate interested in my vehicle, and asking me to call them back as soon as possible.

On May 27, 2015, I placed an ad with Lease Trader and paid them $99.95 to list my vehicle until it sold. Lease Trader responded with an email confirming my order, stating that this fee was non-refundable and threatening to take collection action, and charge me attorney fees if I contested the charge.

On May 28, 2015, I received an email from Lease Trader stating they had submitted my vehicle ad to search engines. This email also stated that I would be charged $19.95 for the next search engine submission unless I canceled this service before then.

On May 28, 2015, I tried calling Lease Trader to cancel the automatic monthly search engine submission service that I had not ordered, but my call was not answered. I then went online and canceled the search engine submission service by unselecting the check box provided.

During the next month I received zero inquiries about my lease car from any potential buyer. There was no indication that Lease Trader ever even listed my vehicle, and they certainly did not make any effort to fulfill their promise to find me a buyer.

On June 27, 2015 at 12:15 a.m., I received an email from Lease Trader stating that they charged me $19.95 for search engine submission service. This same email stated this fee was non-refundable and threatened to take collection action, and charge me attorney fees if I contested the charge.

On June 27, 2015 at 2:33 a.m., I tried responding to Lease Trader by email and asking them to refund the unauthorized $19.95 charge for their search engine submission service. This email was returned as undeliverable.

On June 27, 2015, I attempted contact Lease Trader by phone several times but could not get a person to answer. I then canceled my ad with them by removing it online, and contacted my bank to contest the unauthorized $19.95 charge for search engine submission, and the $99.95 ad fee.

Despite Lease Trader’s promises to easily find a buyer for my vehicle, there was never any indication that they provided any service after I placed the order.

Lease Trader made it impossible for me to continue to advertise my vehicle with them by making unauthorized charges to my credit card and threatening me. I never received any material services from Lease Trader, and I canceled my service with them and removed my ad on June 27, 2015. I am currently seeking a refund for the fee of $99.95 that they charged me on May 27, 2015.

Lease Trader focuses all of their resources on aggressive billing and customer intimidation. Their rating with the BBB is not indicative of any customer experience with them; it only shows that they have a staff of lawyers assigned to respond to complaints. They do not really provide an effective advertising solution, and consumers should avoid them.

LeaseTrader.com Lease Assumption

This purpose of this post is express my distaste for the services provided by LeaseTrader.com.

LeaseTrader.com is nothing more than VERY expensive gimmick.

The lure in to the notion that they "handle" the lease assumption process when all they do is charge outrageous fees for nothing.

Now one would expect that with such fees would come some perks... this could not be further from the truth.

The only thing that LeaseTrader.com does is makes an easier process overly complicated while collecting huge fees.

I also forgotten to mention that they require you to be pre-approved with them which means they collecting all of your personal information and do a credit check.

This down right comical because they do not do the actual approval rather the institution that is holding the lease does the approval.

All they are doing is collecting your information and selling it for advertising and informational purposes.

Don't waste your time and money on such a pathetic, useless and unnecessary service.

LeaseTrader.com TRANSFER PROCESS

This company is a joke...
The require you to buy a membership and then do a credit check.
In others words, they just sell your information.
The actually leasing company does the actual approval!
When I called, the yelled at me and told me to "hold forever".
Do not waste your money or time with this site.

LeaseTrader.com leasetrader credit policy

http://leasetrader.com wants to check your credit before allowing you to become a member. This benefits the sellers (somewhat) because leasetrader uses this as a selling point.

"All our members are credit approved."

What it also does is ding your credit score... twice. leasetrader dings it first by initiating an inquiry, then it gets dinged when you actually want to do the real credit check to take over someone's lease. As I understand it, the number of credit inquiries you receive can drive down your credit score.

Here, I need to get a credit check before I ask if someone's seats are heated?

And that is why I won't ever use them. I'm happy to pay a fee, even double their asking fee, as long as I protect the number of inquiries into my credit. But to run my credit just to ask a question?

no thanks leasetrader.

LeaseTrader.com credit check

As a third party in assuming leases, they demand that they do a credit check to "screen" potential buyers. But first you must pay 40 dollars to be a user on leasetrader.com. Then let them a non-finacial instituion, determine your credit worthyness. How can this even be legal? Who's protecting your information? And if I didn't use their service, why can't I get my money back?

I understand fully how lease assuming works. Leasetrader.com screening method reeks of identity theft, outright scam, or shady. Be warned!

Looks like it's much easier to sell a car on leasetrader than to buy one...

What a scam this is... if you find a car you're interested in you would naturally click the "contact seller" button like I did. Then they ask you to register which is fair, so I did that. Then you DO NOT get to contact the seller! They demand that before you contact the seller you give them your social security number and let them run a credit check on you! Of course I did not do that, so the harassing emails and even PHONE CALLS started from day one. They call and email EVERY DAY telling me to give them my social security number. What are they, based in Nigeria? Are they going to tell me I had a rich uncle die and they need my bank info to give me my inheritance? What a bunch of slimeballs. Avoid this company and whatever you do, DO NOT give them your email and phone number!

I was attempted to use Lease Trader until I read the reviews. I posted my car on TradeALease.com and it was free. Yes Free - I sold it in a week, no extra fees. They don't get involved in any of the financial s and were very helpful in pointing me in the right direction. I would recommend  everyone to TradeALease.com to get rid of a lease.

I have used both Swapalease and LeaseTrader.com to list my car, and all I can tell you is LeaseTrader.com works.

Every person that Swapalease sent me was denied by my finance company, and the first person LeaseTrader.com sent me got approved the first time. I would use them again.

LeaseTrader.com - Took Money out of my account with no authorization

This website is a huge scam. First you have to sign up for 40.00 to put your car on the website. Then you find out it cost 10.00 to put pictures on it. Then about 20 minutes later you get an email saying they have found you a buyer but you have to upgrade to the gold package which is 69.99 to contact the interested buyer. Without me ever signing up for that...
