Three days agao I had a charge show up on my credit card for $1.00 from a company named Lalibco.com Portugal NDL. Not knowing what this was for or what this company did, I looked them up on Google and found that they are some sort of Internet Tech/Service company but the site was very vague. I decided to contact Lalibco from one of their support numbers and was greeted by a "hello" from some guy with a heavy accent - no company name or anything. That was a dead give away that is is probably not a legit company, or a very professional service. I asked what the charge was for and what Lalibco did for business and the service rep told me that they provided billing service for numerous adult web sites and that the charge meant that I had made a purchase on one of those sites. Well, I am the only one that has access to my card and I know I did not make any online purchase on that date, and certainly not on some porn or adult site! The service rep then said that if I supplied him with some more personal information about me and my card used that he could track it in their records to determine where the charge might have come from. I said NO WAY! I would never give an unknown, online company any information and told him that I didn't think they were professional or even legit, and ended the call. I then contacted my credit card company, informed them of the issue, and they reversed the charge. Now, I know it was only $1.00 but it was more about the issue of a company like Lalibco having my card details and how they got it. WATCH OUT FOR LALIBCO!
HELLO, I ALSO HAD NEVER USED THE CARD ON THE INTERNET, MY CREDIT CARD COMPANY FOUND THIS TO BE A FRAUD AND ALSO REVERSED CHARGES AND GAVE ME A NEW CARD, NOW I RECEIVED A COLLECTION NOTICE BY CRB FROM OHIO SAYING THEY WILL REPORT ME TO THE CREDIT BUREAU IF I DON'T PAY, SO I CALLED THEM AND EXPLAINED IT WAS A FRAUD, THEY DIDNT WANT TO HEAR THAT SO I TOLD THEM TO SEND ME DATES MY CARD WAS USED, IP ADDRESS WHERE IT WAS USED AND HOW THEY CAME TO THE AMOUNT OF 161.96, AND THE EMAIL THAT IT WAS SENT TO AS LALIB CLAIM ON THERE WEBSITE THEY SEND A CODE TO YOUR EMAIL TO ACTIVATE YOUR ORDER, AGAIN THEY HAD NO INFORMATION AND SAID THEY WILL SEND IT, IM STILL WAITING, SO I LOOKED UP CRB ON THE BBB WEBSITE (BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU) ACCORDING TO THE BBB CRB HAS A HISTORY OF NOT BEING ABLE TO PROVE CHARGES AND THAN CANCEL THE DEBT, SO DON'T BE INTIMIDATED BY THEM JUST MAKE SURE THEY SEND YOU ALL INFORMATION TO PROVE IT CAME FROM YOU, ALSO I SUGGEST IN A FEW MONTHS CHECK YOU CREDIT REPORT AND IF THERE IS A NEGATIVE, WRITE THE CREDIT CARD BUREAU AND THEY WILL INVESTIGATE AND FIND IT TO BE FRAUD
Becareful with this company. I found almost $1, 000 worth of charges on my credit card. I, too, had no idea who this company is or what they did. When I found them on the internet they refused to disclose any information to me until I gave them ALL of my personal information. I refused.
This was back in July, 2008. Now they have sent this account to collections and they are threatening to put this on my credit. Now I have to spend a lot of $$ and time to try and get this resolved.
Be forewarned, don't assume this is over by just closing your account. Follow through and file a police report and document all correspondence with them. If you don't, they will come after you too.
Hello, i had 4 charges of 29.99 from lalibco, i also called them and was told the same thing, i pressed them to where the got my credit card number with no answer, i called my credit card company and i was told this company is being investigated for fraud and they canceled my card and will issue me a new one
