SKREW! Those damn parking tickets. I would understand if parking tickets were like $20 bucks but $60 buck is WAY to much for something like that! For making a common mistake like going over the time limit a couple of minutes the city decides to charge its residents HUGE fees! Thank you city of Los Angeles. Its not enough that youve cut down jobs, but you decide to skrew people over even more by charging CRAZY parking fees.

The same happened to me in Hollywood in August. I couldn't see a sign that it's not allowed to park here. After 40 minutes I went back to my rental car and saw that I got a ticket. I went to the parking violations bureau in Wilshire Blvd. but it was closed because it was sunday. I wrote my credit card number because I had to leave LA the next day very early. They didn't charged the card but I got a letterfrom the office with a total due of 80 US$. I wanted to pay online but the site was not availible, I tried to pay by phone - no chance. What can I do now? Today I got another letter with a due of 170 US$. It's impossible to pay. What will happen if I ever come back to LA?

I received a parking citation in Santa Monica at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday 12/16/09. The location was 1100 3rd St. E. side. It was angled parking and all the spaces were full. Someone was just pulling out as I came by. I took that one. I own a Toyota Prius with clean-air access stickers. I have never had to pay for parking in a metered space before in this vehicle. The parking citation states "street cleaning" as a description. The street was full of parked cars. It was full of parked cars when I came back 30 minutes later. Only I had a citation. Before I pay a fine of $61.00 to Santa Monica, I would like to know why nobody else was cited. If the term of free metered parking for clean-air stickered vehicles is over, I would like to know why I wasn't informed. And why was this not reflect on the citation? The citation number is [protected]. The officer's name was Rodriguez, ID 3634.

I have the problem, I'm from Belgium, I got ticketted in August in Hollywood Blvd and I received a mail from the Parking Violations Bureau asking me to pay for November 16th. I tried by internet but the site is unavailable and by phone, my ticket number is rejected... What can I do? What would be my sanction for not paying if I ever go back on holidays in the US?

I have also tried numerous times today to pay a parking fine for when my boss was in the States. Refused to recognise card number and unable to get through by telephone.

Same thing happened to me. The online system didn't recognize the ticket number. The phone based system said "Ticket is closed". I tried twice with a week in between - both times same result. Then I get a late notice from the Parking Violations Bureau and the refuse to drop the late fees. Major scam!
