LabCorp staff education and behavior

I went twice to the same Linden, NJ location to have a 3hr glucose tolerance test. I am pregnant and the doctor needed me to have this test done. The first time I went, I was told by the technician that she was unsure about the prescription because she claimed that it did not indicate how the blood was supposed to be drawn. I went back to my doctor and the office called Labcorp. Labcorp told my doctor's office that the prescription was correct. I went back to the Linden, NJ location and this time the supervisor Ms. Scott told me that the prescription was incorrect. I tried reasoning with her that the 3hr glucose test had 4 samples of drawing blood because they are supposed to be done at fasting, 1st hr, 2nd hr, and 3rd hr. She did no see how that could work like that and refuse services. On my way out, she said to me have a nice day. As a professional that has been working in the human services and psychiatry field for over 12 years, I found her sarcastic comment very intolerant. How was I supposed to have a nice day? I could have had gestational diabetes and for two consecutive weeks, the incompetence of the staff and supervisor alike impeded me to have this test done. At that moment I thought of going to another location to see what they say about the prescription. I went to Edison, NJ and the receptionist and technician said that the prescription was fine. I was able to have my test done and my results are back normal.
I am writing this complaint to emphasize the need of education and training to certain staff specially when the supervisor sets the mood of how staff treat customers. I was very upset that day because I found Ms. Scott's comment very unnecessary. I was not disrespectful with her but I did argue her ability to read a prescription. If I could get something out of this complaint, it would be to have your staff assessed and re-assessed about how much they actually know. They should also be trained on how to deal with clients because they are not doing any favors. Everything is paid for or billed to the insurance.
Thank you.
Helen

LabCorp disposal of csf

My husband had a lumbar puncture on 9/22/17 at Reno Diagnostics in Reno, unfortunately for my husband, they sent the fluid to your company instead of Quest where I am employed. The sample was picked up by John, the courier at 256pm that day. According to Gail Petterson, Labcorp would have never excepted this due to a certain test ordered but it did get accepted. The person who normally handles these was off that day as I learned from Reno Logistics, it was never labeled as an irreplaceable sample, it was transported to Phoenix with all the normal samples and from there the entire sample was sent off to National Prion Surveillance. My husbands sample was never logged after it left Logistics in Reno, the Doctor was never notified nor was Reno Diagnostics. My husband has to endure another Lumbar Puncture due to Labcorp inadequate handling and the policy for chain of custody on an irreplaceable sample was never followed. I see a legal matter in our future, your company broke every compliance statute on the book regarding this sample.

LabCorp front desk customer service

I would like to make a complaint regarding the front desk receptionist at the Pasadena Md, mountain rd location. She was rude and nasty as soon as I walked in the door. My sons pediatrician asked me to take a stool sample for my son. He has been having major issues and we cant seem to figure out the problem. Believe me, collecting a stool sample wasnt fun. It also hasnt been fun going to all of the doctors appointments and watching my 13 year old feel embarrassed, vulnerable, and humiliated as doctors (no fault on them) examine him. Im sure you can imagine.

So i wasnt given much explanation, just take the sample and drop it off at the lab corp near you. So we read the instructions, etc and today i went to drop it off. As soon as i walked in the front desk receptionist had a diagusted look on her face. I get it, its stool samples. Believe me, this isnt my idea of fun either. Exactly why i chose not to go into a medical profession, but she has. She began nastily barking orders at me about his mame being on viles, etc. I had no idea what was going on before she shoved a basket in my face and told me to take them outside. It was humiliating to be treated this way in front of everyone in the waiting room. Then she asked for my insurance card. I was trying to explain that i didnt have the actual card, but i had a copy. She cut me off midway through my sentence and in a very nasty tone told me she needed the actual card. At this point, now im mad. Im a paying customer, and you know what, people come here because they have problems and need lab work done. She has no idea what they have been through.

So i said, no you dont need the card, you just need.. now she got very loud and started saying 'lab corp policy.." and i said i am done here, im not dealing with you, i will go somewhere else.

I was really upset and shaken. So i decided to look up reviews, and she has had other complaints for screaming at customers. I really think, this is not the job for her. She should not be representing your company.

LabCorp bad experience

To whom it may concern (probably directly to the management).

Please, improve your service quality, including the stuff.
Very slow, not enough employees, there are always 3-4 people ahead in the line.
Your customers are people too and they have no time to sit and wait over 2 hours.
Making appointments is another sad story.
In general, this place is a complete mess and I regret I spent time on dealing with you.

LabCorp billing

The staff are unable to read a back of a card and submit your claim to the correct address. Sad that in this day and age they aren't submitting the claim electronically and then have the possibility to get paid faster. I had to call my insurance and have them call labcorp to get issue resolved. though the claim might still not get paid because they sent me a bill for the service 4 months later and most insurances have a timely filing limit of 90 days. I work for a billing a company and if we have a problem getting a claim paid we call the insurance company that is what a billing company is suppose to do. Thank god I mentioned I need to have lab work done in october and I was saying I wanted to cancel because I have so many issues with labcorp and they added Quest. So greatful they added quest and I now have another lab I can use and not rely on the incompentance of labcorp.
Invoice # [protected] Invoice Date of 9/7/17.

PS if the claim still gets denied for timely filing I am not responsible for this bill and will not be paying this invoice.

If your child is screaming in doors...YOU ARE THE PROBLEM! Kudos to the nurse for telling you to cover your screaming child's mouth. You should think about other people every now and then! It's people like you, who have no concern for how your child's actions negatively affect others, that give parents a bad name.

LabCorp long wait time

My daughter and I have been sitting in LabCorp in White Marsh, Maryland for an hour and a half now. Another lady asked how long of a wait there is and the front desk admin said "unfortunately this is our lunch hour and we can't close so you're going to have to wait". I would have loved to have known that it's there lunch hour when we arrived and hour and a half ago! IMy poor daughter is so very sick and we could have left and went somewhere else! I have never heard of such! I will never return to this location! Now we just got called back and the tech is on her cell phone. Wow!

LabCorp medical billing

I received the first notice of a balance that I owe left from my insurance payment on 8/22/17. It listed charges from6/23/17 and was a past due notice. I then received a third party collection notice for this bill on 9/11/2017.
This is a blatant violation of the FCRA and UUCC. They did not bill me or contact me prior and sent this straight to collections under the 30 days.
I want to file suit for erroneous credit reporting and harassment. I did pay the bill but now I want this cleared up from my credit file.

LabCorp about service

Hello today I made my visit to the richmond hill labcorp where I needed to make my blood work done. When I had got there I had seen a long line of people just waiting there. Here this is always common as I always see that there are too many people waiting. Yet this time, the limit was crossed as the front desk woman had fought with about 6 patients who were complaining for there lack of organization as they had taken a lot of patients for walk in. They had took those who came walk in and those who had appointments were neglected. When I came today and all the other times I come here I always see the workers sitting around and talking. They take so many breaks in between that as they take their breaks, the line of patients grow. My complain is their laziness and how they give the lowest respect towards their patients.

LabCorp lab work registration, incompetence and ignorance.

Hopewell Road, Downingtown Facility. I was there the last week in April 2017, and you decided to call a co worker while working on my case and entering my information (incorrectly)and complain to myself and a coworker on the phone about the bad conditions with Lap Corp and that you feel as an employee shouldn't have to work like this. That their policies suck and that you entered your mileage from you home and now they are telling you you cannot do that ! So I had to sit there and hear you complaining about this which is unprofessional and ignorant. Because of your nastiness I felt uncomfortable and felt I needed to act like it didn't bother me so that you would not bruise me during the blood work that I was having.
On May 1st 2017, I took my young teen to Hopewell Road to get some blood work and testing done, Downingtown Pa. We have been there before and had choose to go back there because we usually had pleasant and knowledgeable service with a person who has been with the company for more then 20 yrs. Unfortunately this is not the case anymore the employee who had been profession and handled things was not working there that day.
First of all my teen has never had to go through medical testing before and had no clue how to handle things and so I was teaching him. The person there was rude and nasty to my minor child. Its my place to teach him how to handle business when going for testing and such, not yours! So when I am providing the information for my minor child you will ask me the questions and for corresponding paperwork and NOT put my minor child in a position that they were uncomfortable and feeling awkward with when the entire testing he was having was embarrassing and uncomfortable for him to begin with. If you were doing your job you would have entered the information into your system CORRECTLY. Then because you had entered the information into your computer system, you had caused an unnecessary trickle of effects which are ON GOING to date. When I got home and noticed that you entered the information INCORRECTLY, I immediately called your customer service and spoke with a young lady who I was on the phone with for 1hr and 20 min to try to correct your erroneous mistakes. She told me she had corrected it. That because she corrected it properly it would be billed correctly. Well that is only half of that issue. The bills for myself had been changed and processed BUT the main reason I was calling was because the information that your incompetent staff at that facility had put into the system, didn't even match the information on my child's medical card. Go figure that out! Especially when you work for a business that requires such detail and specifics when dealing with client testing, because this could mean a matter of life and death in some cases. Anyway, So we finally get an invoice from your company and an EOB from the insurance company and I immediately call your customer service again and again explain the information is wrong and the employee said well OK I fixed it now. Well she failed to do so because she made it worse and it was kicked back once again. So I called again and spoke to another rep from you r company who was just as incompetent and said OH yeah I see the issue I will fix it and re submit and again she messed the information up once again but this time she even managed to change on her own the Policy holders information because she felt it was incorrect. I had told her "NO"" YOU DON'T NEED TO CHANGE THE POLICY HOLDER INFORMATION AT ALL! " " NOW YOU CAN PUT WHAT YOU ERRONEOUSLY DID BACK TO THE ORIGINAL INFORMATION FOR THE POLICY HOLDER !" "WHY WOULD YOU CHANGE SOMETHING THAT YOU WERE NOT EVEN ASKED TO ?" She said OK everything is corrected and ended the call. Well NO it was SCREWED Up Even More so now because of your INCOMPETENT, IGNORANT, UNEDUCATED and NEGLECTFUL Staff. I had called at least 5 times and its on file and your stupid people are messing it up more. I have provided a few times the corrected information and you choose to ignore it and the insurance company has provided you with guidance and you fail to process it properly! WTF SO NOW To date YOU will NOT be paid until YOU OPEN YOUR EYES AND PUT THE PROPER INFORMATION INTO YOUR SYSTEM YOU HAVE ALL of the information right there in front of you and YOU can do YOUR OWN research and Cross reference against the previous current record and FIX the ISSUES and Turn it into the insurance company who is waiting for the corrections on your end! Maybe if you Hired COMPETENT PEOPLE who were paying attention, rather then complain to customers and clients about how they aren't going to follow policy because they feel they are above everyone or some stupid story that I have to sit through and hear or that try to intimidate and bully a teen who had never been through a medical issue and was scared about what he is going through, These issues wouldn't be happening and people wouldn't get angry with companies like yours. Because Frankly, I don't really need to use your facility at all I have other choices and can take my business else where.

LabCorp service counter person

I went in this morning for some doctor ordered blood work. The person at counter had a terrible attitude. I employ staff who work counters working with customers and if they were as rude as this woman I would fire them. She obviously doesn't like her job and I gave her absolutely no reason to be rude with me. When I stood at the window she had an attitude right from the start. When I inquired why she needed my credit card and how much was she was going to charge me, her rude response was "if I were going to charge anything I would have told you ok, so just sign the papers".
I don't think a company as large as lab Corp should have people such as this person dealing with customers. Regardless of knowing her job or not, she obviously has a chip on her shoulder. As a manager of a service department, I would rather employ less qualified staff who have good positive attitudes then someone like her. I didn't get her name as she doesn't wear a name tag. Probably because she must receive lots of complaints. I expect some kind of apology and some course of action with this person.

LabCorp billing & customer service rudeness

Lab Corp's billing system is an absolute atrocity and their customer service for billing questions are outright rude. I had blood work done on 2 separate occasions, in March and May 2017. I received the March billing statement after insurance covered the majority and the remaining balance was my responsibility. I did pay the remaining balance online using my MasterCard. First, there is no confirmation number after you pay nor any email receipt. In other words, no proof you paid. Good thing I had my credit card statement. However, I continued to receive billing statements that the March amount was still due after the fact. I called the Billing department and apparently the balance I paid online was for the May statement. I never, ever received a statement for May's services, only March. Furthermore, you must enter an invoice number when paying online. The invoice numbers between March and May are totally different. How could my March payment even possibly be applied to May's? When I called Billing to inquire, the male customer service rep was rude and hung up on me even though I was polite but firm. The first rule for customer service reps is NEVER to hang up on the customer. You allow the customer to end the call first. Any idiot knows this. I called back and the second female customer rep was more helpful and polite. She sent out an entire statement history to me so I can see each date of service, the charges and amounts insurance paid. I did finally pay off the entire balance but it looks like they sent the last bill to collections, despite this being entirely their fault.

LabCorp new procedures;

I understand you no longer take walk-ins it's appointment only now. Well your new plan is NOT working, It's very poor scheduling, it's a mess. I went to LabCorp in Orange City, Florida on Monday my appointment was at 8:45 I didn't get in until 9:40. I waited less time as a walk-in. You need more people or a better way of scheduling. I wasn't the only on upset there were many. You can't schedule more people at the same time than you have people working. Unfortunately the people who made up this new plan are sitting in there nice office away from what's happening they have no clue what's going on. The employees however have to listen to all the complaints and it's not there fault. People are angry the New system as it stands now doesn't work. One thing that LabCorp could do for those diabetic people that have been fasting for more than 8 hours to show you care is give them a snack as soon as you draw there blood. I am not a diabetic but there were plenty in the office. Some were starting to get headaches because they were waiting so long. Do something soon fix the problem.

LabCorp rude employees

Employees were watching soap operas on the lab computer and seemed irritated that they had to stop to help me. I told then that my doctor's office had my urine sample, and they told me to go get it. Then they asked ME what the ua was for, and I, of course, told them that I don't know. They then told me that I had a balance, that no bills are sent out anymore, and that I needed to pay today, which I did. Then they tell me that I will have another balance after today, for which I left a credit card number, and was assured that my card info would be destroyed after it was used. Their demeanor was less than professional, and they seemed agitated that I had questions regarding the billing and it seemed they cared more about getting back to their tv time. *location on st. Luke's way in the woodlands TX

LabCorp unethical behavior

I was at labcorp, 81557 dr. Carreon blvd. Indio, california. On august 12, 2017 at my appointment @ 7:30am. And a female nurse by the name of christina torres, was looking down my shirt & asked me "what is down your shirt" I was startled and replied nothing. Nurse torres replied "no that". I looked down & between my breast was my pocket knife, I took it, from between my breast & attacked it to my bra. I assumed, this unpleasant conversation was over & she would do her job & draw my blood b y then she decided to start sounding like boys from the hood & said to me, "where do ya be hang" I looked at her & replied "I have been attacked by people, I didn't even know & I felt it was safer than a gun", she replied "why such anger in your heart" & then said "you be hangin in the wrong place with the wrong people" I was shocked because she doesn't know, me & I do not know her, well enough for her to be looking down my shirt! Or try to elaborate on my heart! I hope that this unethical behavior it look at if labcorp would like to talk, call my any time [protected] thank you

LabCorp wait time

I tried to have my blood work done twice. The forst time I came, I waited almost 2 hours to be called and ended up leaving without getting my blood work done. There were two people working, a waiting room full of people and in the 2 hours I was there they only called 3 people. The second day I went to try again, at 9:00 am, with a room full of patients (again) one worker decided to go out and get breakfast. She came back ten minutes later and went to the back to eat her breakfast. The ther worker called one person and began to input her information into the computer. When the other worker came back from eating breakfast, she also sat down and began inputting information into the computer. A half hour later, they were both still sitting at the computer and no one has been called. The wait time is ridiculous, I have to keep putting money in the meters, and they seem to take their time. When asked how long is the wait time their response is "we don't know. Just sign in." I CAN NOT STAND COMING TO THIS PLACE! Evry single time I come whether there are two people waiting to be seen or ten, the wait time is ALWAYS extremely long!

LabCorp phlebotomists was extremely rude and used brute force on my son

7/25/17 - Today I went to the LabCorp in Montcalair, NJ. An older male hispanic man (think was called Raul) refused to use a butterfly needle on my son. I insisted and he became upset and refused. He then proceeded to draw my son's blood and jabbed the needle into his vein and moved it around. Afterwards, I was so upset but didn't want to argue in front of my son. Afterwards, my son complained that his arm hurt and it bled for a while. LabCorp should scrutinize who they hire. I plan to contact LabCorp as well and notify them how upsetting this visit was. I've been going to this location for years and neve encountered someone as rude and unskilled. This man should be FIRED!

LabCorp poor professional conduct

On July 20, 2017, I left work in Media, PA to get routine bloodwork drawn. The man at the registration desk has been there for awhile and after registering me, he sent me back to one of the rooms. He had drawn my blood before and I never had any problem after the needle stick. However, on this occasion, a second phlebotomist came into the room and asked me for my paperwork. Of course I didn't have it and he asked me for my name and birthday, which everyone else in the little rooms could hear. He was very abrupt and tied the tourniquet very tightly. He finally said something that was more friendly, as he was sticking the needle in my arm. He put gauze on my arm and taped it. I left. Nothing abnormal, except when I walked back into my office building, I noticed that the gauze was soaked with blood. Not only did I have a horrible hematoma, there was actually a scratch in my arm from the needle. I don't know the man's name, but he should not be doing this job. I have heard horror stories of people losing their arms because of bad needle sticks. All I want is that he doesn't do this to someone else. What if it had been a little kid? I have a picture of my arm, but I don't know how to get it to you.
