KyLinTV Kylin TV

On 1 August 2021 we subscribed to Kylin TV Taiwan Pack
On 2 August 2021, we were charged.
On 3 August and 4 August 2021, we asked for the Kylin TV account to be cancelled. We told them that the person who was supposed to watch Kylin TV died suddenly - car accident. We asked for fees and charges to be refunded.
To date, the account is still active. They have not responded or closed the account.

Desired outcome: Cancel the account. Refund all charges

KyLinTV Set top box deposit refund

I have cancelled my subscription with Kylin TV after being customer for several years. The service has gotten from bad to worse and finally they have confirmed the cancellation. However, after this they still have not refunded the deposit fee after 4 months.

KyLinTV Phone, tv, customer service

Phone was not working from time to time. TV programs were cut into random fragments and not matched to the titles. The customer service was terrible.

At the end first year of two year contract for unlimited plan, with no normal phone service continuely for three months and frequently calling customer service and support testing/replacing box, I called to cancel the service due to their technical difficulty . They said I could cancel with no penalty but I need to pay other fees almost equal to next full year's service fee. Also they dug out a fee "they mistakenly refund one year ago" as refund my months of abnormal service. Their attitude was terrible – they just want your full payment for the contract without providing normal service.

KyLinTV Services

I have used KylinTV for more then two years. KylinTV phone and TV quality were not good and the connection dropped or disconnected very frequently. The most what I complain is they increased the service fee every year but did not notice me. I found this until I read my credit card bill after a few month late. So I decided to cancel their services.

KyLinTV Quality of service

I always experience difficulties with the service this year. I had been a customer since 2006. Never thought the service would get worse. However this year whenever I fast forward when viewing, the box just "jump" the screen to the next program and I never got to see the programs I wanted without viewing the advertisements. I never have the patient and time to wait for that 5 to 10 minutes of advertisement of just after 10 minutes of viewing so I gave up. I expressed the frustration to the customer service and they didn't treat me seriously and refused to refund any fees.

KyLinTV Bad and dishonest business practices

Stay away from Kylin TV. This company should not be in business. Two years ago Kylin TV started to remove all the popular shows from certain channels and put them under a pay per view channel. I don't like their shady way of doing business, so I called their customer service to cancel the service. But they did not cancel it until I contacted them again to stop the service. Ridiculously, they sent me a bill of $23.72 for the service I did not request. They threatened to forward the bill to a collection agency if I do not pay. I returned the TV set-up box to them, ten weeks later, they sent me a check of $26.28 instead of the $50 deposit that I had paid. I am disgusted with this company. I don't know how they can get away with this kind of shady business practices.

KyLinTV Bad billing service

DON'T USE KYLIN TV! STAY AWAY FROM KYLIN TV! They have EVERGREEN condition embedded!

I called Kylin to cancel my account in Aug 2014, but they said they said that I have prepaid for one-year service, and they can't refund us any money. The contract will end in Nov 2014. So I said OK if Kylin can't end the contract now. I can't do anything but show them my intention to terminate the contract.

But this January, I received a letter from them saying that I still owe them money. It turns out that they automatically renewed your contract without getting your verbal or written approval. I already showed them my intention to close the accounts a couple months before. Now they are accusing me that it was my fault that I didn't call them again in Nov 2014 to tell them close the account. I already asked them to close my account back in Aug 14, they said that they can't refund my fee and the contract will end in Nov. They did NOT tell me that they will renew my contract automatically again if I don't call them! What a ### service they have!

I will never use this service ever again. I would NOT recommend any people to use their service! I never have this sort experience with other TV service provider. Now I can say Telus and Shaws are much better service providers. They don't do this ### evergreen (automatic renewal service) things. None of my friends or family members will ever use their service. I would rather pay a premium to Telus and Shaws to avoid this ever renewal contract!

KyLinTV Wrong Charge

I have subscribed Kylin TV service for 1 year. I found the TV channels they provided were old, low picture quality movies, as they are so call HD TV. I called them to cancel the TV service and I have return the Kylin TV box to them for refund. But Kylin still kept charging my credit card $259.00 for 5 years (Total charge $1, 408.31 plus tax) and they refused to refund to me even I cancel the TV service 4 years ago. Finally, I have to cancel my credit card to stop Kylin drawing money from my account. I can say Kylin company is a pirate company. I advise all viewers don't trust this company at any cost. By the way, their customer server is very bad. Kylin TV customer support hot line [protected] is a dummy telephone line. There are no representatives to answer your calls. It played robot music all day and hang up on you automatically. Remember to avoid this company, Kylin TV at any cost or they will rob your money.

KyLinTV IP Phone Service

I have ordered KylinTV home phone service 09/18/2014. it was the worst mistake I made.(1): the sale person told this service fee is $15.99 as long as I am in this service, but never say about 2 years contract and $50 deposits. I was so dummy and trust what he did not read the small print in the order email later. (2): the important future that we can have a China call back number was not ready yet. (3): the phone service is bad, people tell voice is bad, they cannot hear me all the time.(4): they don't the voice message without tell us until I asked again and again about I have not receive any voice message yet. (5): customer or Tech support phone are so hard to get through, I spend a lot time wait and deal with them. Finally, nothing changes, the service has been cancelled after another bad conversation. I was so MAD and don't want think again at all. it was a week ago. Now I received an email and ask me pay the cancellation fee about $300 and will use collection service. How can this company still in service? Can they keep fraud people. I wish I was careful and research online first before I talked with those sale people. I don't I need pay these cancellation fee since they never give any service except trouble. is anybody can help me with this issue.

KyLinTV Unable to cancel the service

We use KylinTv for over a year when my parents were here with us. We cancelled the program after our parents went back to China. Our contract ends last Christmas so we cancelled the service at that time. The customer service told us that someone will call us, we can only cancel the service after we receive the call from their cancelling department. The call never happen. We forgot this matter, then this summer we saw KylinTv charge our credit card. We called them again, telling them that we need to cancel the service. It has been 3-4 weeks now, we called them every week, get the same answer like last Christmas. But no one ever called us, and they still charge us because the "cancellation" does not officially happen. Never has this kind of experience with any company. This kind of business practice is really really bad. My advice: Do not book KylinTv service. Once you are on, hard to stop it.

Easy to talk to a representative if you are a new customer but extremely to talk to a person if you are an existing customer. Get rid of KylinTV.

KyLinTV Billing Scam and Bad customer service

After many sale calls from the lady Mary, I took their hassle-free phone service trial on 7/16/2014. (I later found out she conveniently forgot to tell me the length of the trial period and they started charging monthly fee during the trial). I received the box on 7/18/2014. After a few tries, I found the call quality was not acceptable. So I called on 8/4/2014 to cancel the trial. Luckily, that was the end of the two-week trial period. The lady answered my call told me another person from cancellation department will contact me shortly. But since I was about to leave for vacation soon, I told them to call me asap. So a man called me back trying to persuade me to have their technical person looking into my problem. I agreed on the condition that he refund my first month's charge right away and email me the instruction about how to return the box right away, and I will contact their tech person in September after I come back from vacation. So he agreed and he also told me that he postponed my trial ending date to 9/10/14 so that there won't be more monthly charges.

But all that promises didn't happen. After I came back from vacation, I found out they not only didn't refund my first month's charge, but also charged another month's fee on 8/22/14. AND, I didn't get the email. So I said, that's it. I don't want to do business with this company any more. Then the true nightmare started. I spent hours and hours trying to reach a live person. I even submitted a call back request from their web site, but didn't get me anywhere. A few times I reached a live person by not selecting "cancellation", I got "ok, I will make a note and have people from cancellation department call you." I told them to call back during night time, because I work during the day. But every time, they left a call back number in my answering machine during the time when I was at work. As you can imagine, the call back number never worked. I had to call my credit card company to block this vendor from further charges.

On 9/17/2014, I finally reached a customer service rep Hilary, who was the only nice person I encountered. She finally emailed me the return instruction (I subsequently shipped back the box on 9/17/2014) and promised to have a billing person call me back to resolve the charges. The billing lady did call me back, but she was so rude and insisted that they refund my first monthly charge on 8/21/2014. I told her that's not what's showing up on my credit card. When I offered to show her my statement if she wanted, she gave me silence.

As of now, they are still holding my $50 deposit and two monthly charges, although they have already received my returned box ...

I regret ever used this company!

KyLinTV charge the service not ordered

They called every week to sell the phone service with cheap price but same service with one of its competitor for international call. They told me the free try and have to pay $50 for the box.

I did the provided the credit card and get the box. I tried for about 10 minutes and sent the mail to sale agent for return the box. Then agent said I have to call the phone number provided. I did many times and every time you waited more than 15-30 minutes and no one answer and eventually cut off.

then they start to charge me service fee. Eventually, I sent the complaint through company's web site. Someone answered and told me can not cancel and have to pay full term. $252 for cancelling the service not ordered

That kind of company to me like stealling money.

KyLinTV Bad Billing & NO Customer Service

I subcribed KYylin TV more than 5 years. Since Sept. 2013, they overcharged me every month. I called or e-mailed them in last 2 months. I can't get any (even one) response. When I called, they sent me to their voice mail and cut me off. I won't get any call back.
I tried to e-mail their billing and their customer service, still no response. I have to call my bank to stop payments.

KyLinTV Steals Information to Extract More Money

My father didn't want to keep spending money on international phone cards anymore so he decided to pay around $70 bucks for this KylinTV. When did he buy it? I'm not sure, but days before I noticed we had this KylinTV box installed in his room, I had an alert from my Chase Bank, notifying me $81.35 was taken out of my bank account without my consent! The one taking out the money was yours truly, KylinTV. At the moment, I didn't even know this company! This alert came out of nowhere! My debit card has been safely inserted in my wallet for many weeks. The only transactions I've made out of my bank were simple deposits and withdrawals from the bank's A.T.M.s or the bank itself. So, after calling the bank for a refund and a card number change, my sherlock bank went to investigate. In their conclusion, the bank credited back the money and told us we (Me & My Dad, we have linked accounts) were not responsible for the purchase in any way form. Someone has stolen our information.
Then, after finding out my dad spent another 70 bucks on the company that stole my money in the first place, I realized their box was connected to my modern. The conclusion I can draw from this is that they took my information through the internet because my father couldn't access my account in any way form and had no intention in trying to take any from my account. He has plenty in his account and had no knowledge that they took an extra 81.35 bucks out of my account. He's trying to contact this service at the moment but they seem to be not there.. He left a message and is probably going to demand a refund. However, reading reviews from this company, it seems like they'll never refund the money. It's a good thing my dad is a hard-head though because if they won't release the tape without an attorney, he will find one and sue the crap of them. Never go to this company for anything, unless you're looking for trouble.

KyLinTV Try to steal deposit money from customer

DO not ever order this company TV services, they have a steal money account system. I booked a contract with them for my parents. When I terminate the services with them, and ask for Refund as check payment since my original credit card which is used for ordering is canceled. The accounting department told me it will take them 3 months to mail me the check for the security deposit money. I do not understand why it has to take so long after they already had my returned TV box.

If customer forgot to call for refund after 3 month, I wonder if they will just steal it.

Can anyone tell me which US department I can file a complain to against to hold customer security deposit for so long? Thanks in advance.

KyLinTV Cancellation of Service

I would like to cancel my subscription with KyLin TV. I have called their service several times to arrange for return of the router, which is in perfect shape. Even though I choose the option to speak with someone in English, I keep getting a representative who claims they cannot help me because they don'y speak English. They tell me to leave a number and someone who does speak English will call me back in 24 hours.

After calling several times and leaving my number each time, I have never received a call back from KyLin TV.

Would you please conatct me so I can cancel the service and return your router to you. My e-mail is [protected]@cox.net.

KyLinTV Horrible Billing Practice

KyLin TV is a horrible company that provides lousy program and misinform customer. What a huge mistake I made when I signed up KyLin for my parents to watch Chinese program. I bought a one year package in 12/2010. The sales person was happy to sign me on without telling me that was not refundable. After my parents tried it for a short while and discovered the program was really lousy then I called to cancel the service. Then I was informed it is non-refundable. They claimed there is tape recording of our conversation but would not release it to me only to my attorney, which was very strange. I guess they think they can take advantage of customers that would not go through the trouble hiring a lawyer. After pressing harder on this issue then they changed the statement and said their was a notice came with the set top box indicating the non-refundable policy once the box was open. Sure there is a notice hidden behind the mailing label. I figured I was stuck with it because this hard-to-find notice. So I bit the bullet and said good-bye to $200+. I told KyLin representative very clearly that I wanted to stop the service right away and returned the box. The rep said she would send me the label for return but it never came. I put the set top box in the original box and let it sit for months waiting for the mailing label. It still never came and all of a sudden I got a email for payment. I was furious about their intentional bad practice. Obviously they knew about all the customer complaints and this could be the only way they make money by cheating out customer. I called them again and talk to the rep. This time she promised the account is cancelled and will email me the return address. She promised that I would received the email in 10 minutes but I still have not got it. KyLin TV is a horrible company with bad products and services. I would strongly urge everyone to stay away from them.

This is Joycey-Senior KylinTV Customer Service Rep. I am sorry to hear about your story, and I really apologize for the inconvenience and unpleasant experience caused on you.

First I must mention KyLinTV never purposely made any terms hidden or plays tricks to make profit, which is obviously not making sense to us and that is ethical in business at all.

We request all sales person mention and confirm the contract terms, pricing and cancellation policy with Customer when placing the order. In addition, you should have received a Welcome Email immediately after placing order, which also stating your 1 year contract and your right to cancel within 5 days from the day you start the service.

With so many complications happened on your case. I have to say there must be some miscommunication and some human mistakes together caused such coincidence and such bad story.

As KyLinTV customer base has grown dramatically over the past few years, we are really working hard to expand our capacity to make sure every single customer is happy to enjoy our service.

KyLinTV Bad service and poor signal

I returned the IPTV to them in July 2010 and they promised to return refund of $50 upon receipt of IPTV within 2-6 weeks. 9 weeks later, I still did not receive the refund. Today I called and they said it takes another 2-3 weeks. I lost the trust in them.

The IPTV has poor signal. We cannot watch the Chinese TV channel. The IT from Kylin TV cannot fix the problem.

KyLinTV crude stop service

We subscribed Kylin TV for a year, due to its receive box did not work, it replaced another one. Not body of kylin told need return the faulted one. Six month after kylin tv stopped the services on Feb. 11, right before Chinese New Year and 2010 winter Olympics, without any notice. Called and discussed with kylin tv staff, we were told need pay $198 for the box cost, or return it to kylin tv.
Kylin tv becomes a TYRANT as it has more customers now, vs to its beginning the business, begged us join and referral new customers for its service.
This company is the worst one we dealt with in the world. Its service people are awful. Don’t be cheated by its sales people. If you are lucky, chose anyone else, never kylin tv.

Agree, Kylin is the worst company I experienced

Their ads are complete lies.
They cut off phone service without any notification.
Asked additional fee for the service customers didn't order and/or use.
They don't call back as they promised.

Kylin sucks! Don't ever use their service.

Now as everyone understood and can check official statement from www.gw-tv.cn . KyLinTV is the ONLY IPTV company that was authorized to broadcast TV channels from Great Wall Package in North America. And KyLinTV is the ONLY company that delivers real HD quality Chinese TV stations outside of China. All other company claiming copy rights or HD are misleading and cheating customers.

Kylin TV Customer service contacted me and removed the financial charge, I have already sent back the box to them.
I am not sure if I can remove my comments, but anyway, to be fair, there is followup from their CS.

I had one year package with Kylin TV and continued with another yearly package for my parents, however, they still charged to my account even I clearly told one of their representative -- please stop my pogram after my yearly package is done...now they are sending me the bill for the service that I did not request at all...
any kylinTV customers, please switch to Charming China, they only charge $5.99/month with 50+ channels and 10+ HD channels, hundreds of new film -- all free! i was paying Kylin TV for $360/year with this terrible customer service.
In order to stay away from the harrassment from kylin TV, I agree to pay the money they asked, luckily, my credit card was changed, they stopped their service, so the bill would not be scary! the representative talks like a answering machine, "this is my company policy"...Kylin TV will go bankruptcy for sure, just the matter of time!
again, stay away from the terrible company!

Dear Customer

We provide free STB to all subscribers who elect to lease the Equipment (set-top box ). For Customer who subscribe the service after Mar.2009 will need to pay a $50.00 USD refundable one-time deposit for each Equipment you lease as "Equipment Deposit".

Customer must return all Leased Equipments directly to KyLinTV's designated return address within ten (10) business days upon termination or cancellation of the Services or upon receiving KyLinTV's notice of revoking the grant of Additional Equipment(s). A charge for the difference between then market price of the Equipment (was $198.00 USD) and the Equipment Deposit you paid will be applied if you do not return the Equipments on time.

KylinTV is a joke. False advertising and charge you extra when right when you cancel their service. It's just sad for an Asian like me to see such a black-hearted Asian business. And KylinTv, dont use the word "FREE" when you'll charge your customer $198 for you "FREE" box. Stop your false advertisement. I'm sure that you'll eventually run into a lawsuit that you deserve.

I think there might have been some miscommunication or misunderstanding. Normally, we do free replacement for any unworkable STB, and also provide the free return label for Customer to return the old(unworkable) Equipments. In additional, we send notification by email or mail to Customer who didn't return the Equipment on time at least twice before we charge Customer STB deposit.

KyLinTV Bad billing practice

I purchased KylinTV service and later cancelled the service on 7/23/2009. Kylin service person told me that once they successfully charge my credit card for the last bill (of $33.98) and cancel my account in their system, they will send me an email for instructions on how to return the TV settop box. I received the instruction email on 7/28/2009 and ship back the settop box. Everything looked smooth at this moment, but there is a catch later. Read on... A few weeks later, I received a letter from Kylin's collection agency named "Saturn Systems" and the letter demanded me to immediately pay $58.98 otherwise they "are committed to use whatever means necessary and proper to secure payment". On 8/27/2009, I called Kylin about this matter and they admitted that there is an internal billing issue that mistakenly failed to charge the last $33.98 bill which caused the problem. Kylin was able to charge $33.98 after they try it again. On 8/28/2009, I called Kylin again to check if the last payment went well. They acknowledged that they did receive the payment. However when I asked them to restore any damage to my credit scores, and make sure that my credit score won't be ruined by this error caused by Kylin, they refused to do so. It is rediculus for a company to immediately direct unsuccessful payment to collection agency without trying to contact its customer first! It is also rediculus for a company to refuse a confirmation to its customer that they will try to recover the damage caused by their own fault.

I certainly would not recommend kylintv to anyone. Their bad billing process and errors will cost you a credit score dents. Their inconsisitent response in customer service will cost you time and money to deal with.

Info about Saturn Systems - ---- Saturn Systems is a bunch of crooks, run by a total dick named Bob Stein. This [censored]er refused to remove this error from my credit and refused to provide proof/validation of the debt. I was sent nothing through the mail by this agency. I cancelled my Wildblue account in late 2006 and was told on the phone that I owed nothing and was paid up. Yet I found out later they kept on charging my credit card. I cancelled my account due to other unrelated fradulent use later, and heard nothing else from anyone. I didn't notice my credit was in collection until I saw that entry by Saturn Systems. i emailed them basically asking who are you, why are you putting an entry on my record, and would you please provide me proof of this debt?

The response? We don't have to prove anything at this time, you didn't respond to our 3 notices, please contact wildblue the original creditor."

I stated "You sent me no notice, I never received any. Why should I contact wildblue while you are dinging my credit?" He got huffy and said "Contact wildblue, this will be my last response to you." [censor]! I filed a BBB complaint which he promptly snubbed and ignored. I'm currently in the process of conferring with an attorney to take this [censor] to court.

This [censor] with Saturn Systems will NEVER see the last of me until my credit is corrected.

There is no reason to deal with the mismanaged KYLINTV, just call your VISA company, they will reverse the unreasonable charges immediately.
