Kultur review: poor quality, floors separating 10

I agree as well, I bought my condo in 2009 and walked in for the pre-delivery inspection and there was a bump on the floor. Replaced it all and another bump comes back again a year later. If anyone has any left over KULTUR Maple French Lace please call me [protected] or chester.yu@gmail.com

Unfortunately I did not come across this site befor I purchased 1500 Sq ft of maple Clique. The quality was not that great and lots of short pieces. Some boards were delaminated and a number of the ends were just straight cut. Disappointing! what is wore is that I am short 15 linear feet of 5 inch wide Clique boards. Now what? If any one has some left over It would be great.

I am in a bit of a bind...We recently bought Kultur Flooring (big mistake) are having alot of problems with the product. Here is where it gets interesting: We purchased using their no payments for 3 months plan (which introduces a third party finance company). When we installed the floor we had split boards, poorly coated boards etc etc. Went back to the retail store to complain and she offered us an approximate discount of $400. 2 months later and I went to pay the finance company and they advised me that they were never informed of that discount and that I still owe the full amount! Try to contact Kultur to discuss and found out they have gone bankrupt! Anyone know what my rights are as a consumer. Technically speaking I still have not paid for the product but if I don't pay it is the finance company that will chase me down not Kultur Flooring. Am I stuck paying full price for a terrible product that has lost it's so called 50 year warranty?

WHAT A PIECE OF CRAP! Our Kultur Floors have split in multiple spots and we're now in a situation where we have to replace our entire floor - less than one year after doing major renovations. No wonder they're bankrupt!

Terrible quality product... some planks have warped permanently buckling upwards while others have shrunk revealing gaps. The floor was even installed by a separate company owned by one of the owners of Kultur flooring. If there was a question of installation you would think they would know what they are doing. The floor was kept in the recommended humidity range.
I would never buy from them again... you get what you pay for.

I agree - I did most of my house with Kultur clique flooring and I have never had such a terrible experience with a product before. The planks have separated and warped, even though we followed the specifications on the box for humidity etc. We are already planning to replace the wood in ten years when we do our next major reno, which is a huge shame, seeing as how we spent a good chunk of money buying the product in the first place, not to mention the insane hassle of installing it. Also, to anyone planning on ordering their wood from Kultur, my order was several weeks late, and it seems to be a consistent problem. Assume that if they say it will be ready in three weeks that it will be ready in six. Hate to hate on a company that obviously tries to provide a decent product, but it's simply too flimsy to be worth the money. I would absolutely 100% never buy from them again. Save yourself and go elsewhere! Don't make the mistake I made!

Kultur Hardwood Flooring is terrible quality. Even going by every manufacturers recommendations you still have a ton of issues and they do not stand behind their product whatsoever. I sold Kultur flooring for two years and ended up replacing over $100, 000 worth with other engineered products. They did absolutely nothing to stand behind their product. I am a certified inspector and installer and I know everything there is to know about hardwood flooring and this is absolute garbage.

No where in renata's post does it mention anything to do with radiant floors.

Upon reviewing your web site, it looks like you are an authorized installer by Kultur. It's little wonder why you defend their product.

There are some things you need to look at before you blame the flooring.
Installations Over Radiant Heated Subfloors Kultur Clique can be installed over a radiant-heated subfloor [water-filled tubes running through concrete or sleepers]. In order to ensure that buckling, twisting, delamination, warping, and cupping to not occur, never change the temperature of a subfloor radiant heat system by more than 5F(2.8C) per day when switching the system on and off. Prior to installation of Kultur Clique wood flooring, the radiant heat system must have been tested and in operation for three [3] weeks. The surface temperature of the subfloor must never exceed 85F(29C). Proper relative humidity levels must be maintained consistently throughout the year. Use humidifiers and/or dehumidifiers as necessary to maintain suggested humidity level.
Was the flooring installed by Professional Installer who knows the product. The hardwood is a floating floor and needs to have room for expanssion and contraction. Were all the doors and door casings under cut to allow for this? Was there a shoe molding install around the base and cabinets to allow for this? Were there approved tranistions used where the hardwood meets other flooring? Tile/Lino/Carpet
If this floor is locked in one area and unable to move it could pull the floor apart.
I have been installing hardwood flooring for over 25 years and been working with Kultur products for over 2 years and I think there products are some best in the industry.
