Krug Auto Sales Sale of Totalled car

Hi all. You can definitely tell some as.shole, that's right Daniel"As.shole" is responding with the messages back. Yes buying a used car is what it is. But when you go to Krug make sure the car isn't Totalled. Daniel told me he drove this car home everyday and it was great. I was purchasing a 2007 Hyundai Elantra for my disabled mother and elderly husband. My step dad was driving a few weeks after I purchased the car and hit someone rear end. The damage wasn't bad it was 5MPH. the headlight was cracked as well as the bumper. When they had it looked at by insurance Progressive Totalled the car due to it being Totalled the day of original purchase. My parents unfortunately went back and purchased another car waiting on the insurance money. Because I purchased the car 2000 Ford Focus from Krug they thought it was a reputable business. So unfortunate. This happened Monday. Tuesday the car broke down and its sitting at a repair shop. My parents were told it was a great car and just had its gaskets replaced. If their techs are anything like Daniel, they probably just told Daniel it was repaired and probably never was. Nonetheless KRUG AUTO SALES SELLS CARS THAT HAVE BEEN TOTALED. I hope this note finds people that are shopping with Krug and you think different about taking your hard earned money somewhere else. You'll be much more happy. One more rant. Daniel when I approached him today stepped up to me like he was going to fight me. Taking his jacket off and getting in my face. What you going to do BRO. Come at me Bi.tch. I'll take that business and shut it down. Fuc.king PUNK

Krug Auto Sales They are unprofessional, seedy thieves!

On August 19, 2006, I purchased a 1999 GMC Suburban, Stock #K-6954 from Krug Auto Sales at 3919 Col. Glen Hwy. Beavercreek, Ohio.

The cost of the truck was $7300.00, which was paid for in cash.

Unfortunately, the product has not performed up to standards due to several required repairs within the first 3 months. I am disappointed because the car has required me to pay over $2000.00 in repairs since I purchased it from Krug.

o The first weekend we had the truck I was stranded at a shopping center because the battery was dead. Afterwards, the battery was re-charged and it went dead again. We had to replace the battery at a cost of $65.00.

o Within the first two days of owning the truck we noticed that the front driver-side door was not working properly. It had apparently been "sprung" in the past and the latch was not latching to the door mechanism properly. Luckily, I knew someone who could fix the problem at a minimal cost. The total cost to fix the door was $25.00. I was never told of this defect and called Krug Auto Sales and left a message complaining about these two needed repairs (battery and door). I never received a call back.
o Then, three months after I purchased this vehicle company the transmission went out as we were driving in a very congested area. The transmission would not shift the gears correctly while engaged in drive and the reverse went completely out. We called Krug when this happened and they said they "wanted to make this right" and asked me to bring in the truck. I had to have the transmission completely rebuilt which cost me $1,955.00.

 While the truck was in Krug's possession two of my Cincinnati Bengal emblems were stolen from my truck. I incurred the cost of replacing the magnet and antennae topper for a total cost of $17.50.

I have contacted Krug in writing now on 4 occasions concerning my complaint and request for the information below.
I have also submitted a BBB complaint. They have yet to provide ANY of the following items I have requested:

o A complete copy of my receipt for the $1955.00 I paid to your company for the work totalling $1955.00. I was not provided this when I picked up the truck.

o A complete work order of all the work completed on the transmission, including parts cost and labor cost. I was not provided this when I picked up the truck.

o A copy of the warranty for the work I paid for on the transmission($1955.00). I was told over the phone (prior to the repair) that the work would be covered for 12 months. I was not given this when I picked up the truck.

o An explanation as to why I was never offered a warranty when I purchased the truck, even though it was obviously an option because when I picked up the truck a gentleman asked why we hadn't purchase the extended warranty when we purchased the truck. We explained to the gentleman that we were never offered the extended warranty, and in fact, was told that we were not even entitled to the 30-day warranty because of the "great deal" we were getting on the truck.

o Partial or full reimbursement of the $2062.50 repair costs I have incurred during the first 3 months of owning this truck your company sold to me.

On top of all this, the day I went to pick up my truck I was in a rear-end accident in my other car (I was not at fault). The Krug salesman OFFERED TO COMMIT INSURANCE FRAUD to "help me get some of my money back from the truck expense". Basically, he said he would repair it cheaply and turn in a higher estimate to my insurance company so I could "recouped" some of my expenses!

I highly encourage anyone thinking of doing business with these people to steer clear of them. They are unprofessional, seedy thieves!

I have been working on cars most of my life, Not as a job but for fun and necessity. I can tell you that almost no one can predict if something internal in the engine or the transmission is going to fail in the near future. If the car SEEMS to run properly and no obvious signs of problems then its a guessing game for the customer and the dealer. No one wants the car to have problems, everyone's life is better if they do not. Dealers do not live with the cars and drive them daily like you and I. They buy them from other Dealers, Take trade-ins and so forth. They try to look them over, Drive them a few times and if it all looks good they try to sell them.
With all that said, I just purchased a vehicle from them today. I found the vehicle listed and called them and talked to Dan, I asked them if they could put the car on a lift so I could look over the car from underneath. I made the appointment and when I arrived Dan had the car on the lift and gave me a light to look it all over. I spent a half hour looking over everything for rust or damage or anything that looked wrong. They were completely honest and open and tried to hide nothing. One thing that buyers can do is try to educate themselves a little on what they are buying, A quick check on the internet will tell you plenty of things that an average person can check for on specific models when buying a car. The vehicle was in very good condition and as an amatuer mechanic I thought a very solid car.
Anything that was wrong was mostly cosmetic and they offered to try and find replacements and take care of it. So to sum up, I thought they were very open and honest, tried to hide nothing and were easy to deal with. They are just a local family owned business. Neither one of us can predict how long the car will go without problems. It's not my fault or their fault. I am buying a used car and that's what you get. I would recommend them to others and would go back when I look for another used car.

this is ###ing great... LMAO... stupid people vs. smart people... oops! smart people win!
when you go to a used car lot to buy a car, you're pretty much... mmmm i dunno, buying a used car?!?!?!? get over yourselves. i know these people, and they offer an extended warranty for those of you who don't know how to check your oil...
and; if your automobile breaks down less than a mile from the sales lot, i suggest you call them IMMEDIATELY AS opposed to waiting 3 or 4 days to get all pissy about being ignored on the phone. you gotta be kidding me... idiots...
and by the way, if you're going to type IN CAPS LIKE THIS FOR YOUR ENTIRE ###ING COMPLAINT THAT YOU'RE POSTING ON THE INTERNET, PERHAPS YOU SHOULD HAVE A GRASP OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE, LEARN TO USE SOME PUNCTUATION, AND MAYBE YOU WON'T COME OFF LIKE THE SUPID HICK YOU ARE... seriously... really? yer complaining? idiot... as for defaming someone's character by posting on the internet an accusation of turning back odometers, well; you must be blowing goats. oh, wait, i don't have any real evidence of that, but it'll do. 'cause now it's on the internet...

On Thursday(6/17/2010) my wife and I drove to Krug to look at a Jeep Wrangler that I had found online that day. I test drove it and decided that I wanted to purchase it. Our salesperson was Daniel(did not get his last name). Daniel suggested we go to Wright Patt Credit Union to apply for the loan. He stated that all we had to do was write a check for $100 deposit and he would hold it until we found out about the loan. My wife worked until 6:30 on Friday so we were unable to go that day to apply, which I talked with Daniel about and he was ok with. We got up Saturday and went to apply for the loan as soon as W.P.C.U. opened at 9 A.M. We ended up calling Daniel while applying for the loan to discuss a price. The Jeep was advertised at $10995 but W.P.C.U. was not willing to go above $10000 because the loan to value ratio would have been too high. Daniel agreed to $10000 and we would pay $790 tax and title cash when we came to pick it up. The credit union told us they would not have an answer for us on Saturday because they closed at 2 P.M. Daniel called me Saturday at 1:17 P.M. to see where we stood and I let him know I wouldn't know until Monday but the credit union said it was highly unlikely we would get turned down. He said no problem, just get back to me Monday when you hear something. On Monday my wife received 2 calls. 1 letting us know we had gotten the loan and another letting me know that the car lot had sold the vehicle to someone else. Needless to say, we were both pretty angry. He made excuses saying someone had sold it behind his back and anything else he could think of being very rude to my wife. I then called him while I was on lunch at work and got the same excuses. I got mad and before I got too mad and blew up I told him to have a nice day and hung up on him. So after driving all the way out to the dealership, constant contact, 3 hours working on a loan, and putting down a deposit(a small one, but an agreed upon deposit none-the-less) everything that was done was for nothing. I held up every end of my side of the deal only to turn around and have the vehicle sold out from under me. I wish there was more that people could do to a company for something like this but I guess this will have to do

I bought a nice 1998 Grand Cherokee a few years ago - and despite my wariness towards used car lots, I found Krug to be professional and they represented the vehicle well.
No, they couldn't predict that the car smelled like a cow barn the next summer - that's a Jeep problem where leaves fall into the windscreen and compost in the blower housing. They couldn't predict that the A/C wouldn't work 2 years later (related to composting leaves rotting out the evap. core...another Jeep thang).
I would buy another vehicle from Krug in a heartbeat after MY experience!

Says right on their website underneath WARRANTY that they offer a warranty. Seems odd they didn't offer it, and if they didn't, maybe it was because they already knew a problem *might* exist!
================
With today's highly complex vehicles, it just makes good sense to know that you're protected against expensive mechanical repairs.

We at Krug Auto Sales offer reliable vehicles, but even the very best vehicles can develop mechanical problems... That's why on select cars we offer several warranty plans through Auto Services Company, Inc. With ASC Vehicle Protection Plans, you're protected against those major expenses no matter where you travel in the United States, and there is no deductible on covered parts and labor.

Ask your salesperson for more information about these plans and the vehicles that qualify for them.

I have never purchased a car from Krugs, but I have to agree with James that used cars are used cars. You never know what can go wrong, and it's ridiculous for you to expect that they would be able to tell you if the transmission would ever break.

And it looks like they have an A+ Accredited standing with the BBB.
3 complaints in 3 years, all resolved or dismissed by the BBB as of 03-05-09.
You complaint has to be one of those three, no?

I have bought 5 vehicles from Krug in the last 7 years and they have all been wonderful cars. The owners and salespeople have always been very helpful with any problems whatsoever. The story above has nothing to do with negligence on the part of krug. A transmision is something that can break down on any car. Like any other dealership, Krug unfortuneately are not fortune tellers. I didn't hear nothing mentioned about getting a tune up/ inspection after buying this truck which is of course a must whenever purchasing a used car.
