Korman Communities review: Terrible Experience 2

I had a horrific experience living at Korman Communities in Downingtown, PA and I'm here to put in my two cents. This community is also formerly known as Cornerstone Terrace in Downingtown. Korman only cares about all the money they are raking in from the corporate suites. The permanent residents are given little to no consideration- Maintenance requests are ignored and when maintenance does show up it's without calling (or even knocking in some cases!) The cheapest apartment starts at nearly $1200 and yet what do you have to show for it? The appliances are the cheapest crap they could find, the customer service is terrible, and the walls are so thin you can have conversations with your neighbors through the wall or floor. Similar apartments in the Downingtown/Exton area are practically HALF the cost with the same quality or better! Try Severgn.

The office is run by a total ### named Kimberlee Nacarelli, who only seems to care about climbing the corporate ladder. Unfortunately management and customer service are not exactly her best skills. At a place where you can expect to dish out $1200+ a month for a crappy one bedroom apartment you would expect at least they would hire some good help, but sadly this is not the case. When Kimberlee is not busy writing idiotic memos with bad grammar to the community, she is dishing out orders to her underlings, The "Corporate Sales Managers" - Patricia and Nancy. Patricia is a self-absorbed ditz with no clue about what's going on around her, while Nancy Dunn only cares about making the next corporate sale. They all have huge smiles on their faces until they get you to sign their ridiculous lease, at which time they all turn into a well oiled machine. Have a problem or issue to deal with? Contact any of the fancy dressed women over at the office and they will either ignore you or pass you on to Kimberlee Nacarelli. She is full of lame excuses and likes to blame policies and problems on "corporate", who apparently doesn't exist. Attempting to get corporate contact information resulted in me being ignored and blown off. I was treated disrespectfully and like an idiot.

As if the customer service wasn't bad enough I haven't even gotten to the experience that is living at Korman! Since Korman chooses to use all cheap appliances the electric and gas bills are extremely high. Most of the residents seem to be deadbeats from the hood. My neighbors downstairs were drug dealers and often came blaring into the parking lot at 2am with their subwoofers on maximum. Parking is a disaster, since nobody has their own space. After I got home from work I'd be lucky to find a space anywhere near my building since anyone can park anywhere. Idiots routinely park in the middle of the sidewalk so you can't even walk to your mailbox! Packages are only delivered to your door as Korman will not accept them at the office, so theft of your items is a problem. There's nothing community-like about this place. The lease is written to completely rape you if you miss a rent payment, want to leave, or don't submit the proper "notification" months ahead of time that you are leaving. The management is terrible, the apartments are garbage, and the rent is far too high for what you get.

I want to make it perfectly clear that this complaint is a direct response to the inability of management to provide even a miniscule amount of customer service. I'd like to thank the people who were absolutely no help in resolving any of our issues- Kimberlee Nacarelli, Patricia, and Nancy. The bottom line is Korman Communities doesn't care about customer service of their permanent residents. They are pulling in boatloads of cash from their corporate suites and have a bunch of ###ic women running things. Avoid this dump and find a better living situation.

I stayed in the Korman Properties - White House with my pet. A fiesty terrier. I paid a $500 non-refundable deposit They said pets are not allowed, but they allowed it in my case. Since I had less than 24hrs to plan a trip, I was greatful. The big picture, is the fact they allowed a dog in a non-dog allowed place made it very inconvenient for those expecting no pets and very inconvenient for me to relocate. So please, don't stay with pets against their policy. It isn't a favor to you in the long run and non-refundable deposit is just that. My stay was to be Mid-March - early May and I left first of April due to complaints from "neighbors". If I was a neighbor paying a lot of money not expecting pets, I can understand their point of view.

Therefore, it is okay for them to terminate the lease at THEIR convenience when they broke their own rules to begin with. So bewate if you have a dog. I learned to not stay in a community that as a rule doesn't allow pets. :-)

Not a major issue...just very, very inconvenient.

After living in the Bensalem Country Lights apartments, I can attest to this. Yes, they have very nice apartments... for short term renters. The longer term renters are stuck with old, falling apart units that are embarrassing to bring freinds or relatives to. I opted to have the upgraded unit which was nothing more than modern kitchen cabinets and updated (cheap) outlet covers. The air conditioner did not work and managements response was to send me a window unit. It took a reminder call to get someone out to fix the central air which was very noisy even after it was fixed. For the same rent, you can get much better at competing communities. Korman is nothing but hype and they absolutely do not care that they are lining their bank accounts from the overpriced rent of their crappy units. I will never rent from anyone or any company associated with Korman ever again.
