I worked for this Plastic Surgeon and was verbally and sexually harassed throughout my 12 years of employment as a Per-Diem RN. Dr. Kole created an unsafe work environment with numerous offensive remarks throughout my working career at the surgicenter. I was humiliated, intimidated and belittled with numerous offensive remarks and unwanted sexual innuendos. It was from the beginning, a hostile work environment.
When I was asked to pursue a position at Kole Plastic Surgery Center I was at the office for a post op visit after having Abdominoplasty and a breast lift done. In which I was given a tour of the new office which had recently moved from Philadelphia to the suburbs of Southampton, in Bucks County, Pa.
From the beginning, It was uncomfortable. For as serious as I was to work for a Plastic Surgeon, He was as serious to break me down verbally and sexually.
He used to ask me if I was stupid? and say What are you stupid? He would reprimand me verbally by demeaning me in front of the surgical technicians and Anesthesiologists. Apparently no one ever said a word to him, as they were used to his outbursts and hostility.
He started by watching me undress into my scrubs in the area designated to change. Then would "accidentally" walk in to find me standing in my bra and underwear and say "sorry." Then the smacking of my buttocks started, as well as "can I see your bra today?" or he would rub by me and know I was only wearing a sports bra and make a comment "no bra today, sexy." He did grope my groin once, which I probably started to cry and he was apologetic and stated it wouldn't happen again, in which it didn't.
He told me since he did my surgery, that " he owned my breasts." That they were "his."
When we would have post op patients and I would assist with moving them he would purposefully look down my shirt and say, "NICE." He was to say the least, demeaning.
He once told me he knew a blonde who could "suck the chrome off of a trailer hitch" and asked me if I could do the same. He constantly stated and described how he "didn't get any at home with the wife." I met his wife and I would ask her if she had wings, as she must have been an angel to deal with him at home.
I was informed from the beginning I could never go to the office manager Bonnie, as she would be jealous if I received a raise and she did not. So along with my regular pay I was given cash under the table per hour to make up the difference. Which of course the office manager was unaware of.
I worked with a Surgical Tech who told me when she started he used to smack her hands with the instruments and make her cry until she got it right. She lasted a few years but not long. He had again, humiliated her and belittled her one day and she never came back.
Even once the office manager Bonnie, on a Monday a few years back said he would come in to the office on a Monday in such a bad mood, one day she left and went home and said she would never go back, but she always did. No one else could put up with him. And it was obvious to everyone she had something on him. Everyone that I passed whether it was a Doctor, RN or Tech would all say she "knew all his mistakes" and that she was probably a mistake herself.
I was told many times that I was the only who lasted as long as I did.
I saw many Nurses and Surgical Technicians come and go.
Before I left I was asked by an Anesthesologist why did I stay? After which they saw the Doctor in question smack my [censored] and say, "good work." Which prompted the question, Why did I stay?
I was asked several times by a Pain Management center how I worked for Dr. Kole? The staff as well as the Doctors asked how I could work for such an eccentric man. An odd man. The one nurse said "how do you work with someone who is constantly degrading?" " I couldn't" she said. One nurse at a facility in Huntingdon Valley Surgical Center called him a "SCOUNDREL?" I Only came to find out that these very same people would in 2018 rent space in the very same building that they talked so lowly and negatively of this doctor about.
So when asked why I work there, I did it for my family. I did it to pay my bills. I did it because I was afraid of retaliation, He always said no one would ever believe me And I never told my spouse until recently as I knew he would flip a table, so to speak.

I absolutely believe the review from this former employee. I had 5 consults with 5 different doctors for thighplasty and left there speechless after the consult with him. He was the most unprofessional doctor I have ever dealt with in my life. He was flippant and dismissive. I couldn’t put into words how I felt when I left. I felt like I was being punked. I have no idea how this clown has one good review. I’ll never forget it as long as I live. I wanted to kick him right out of his his chair. I cannot believe he was the doctor. He may have well been the maintenance guy. Just absolutely unbelievable.

I am an attorney representing a former patient of Dr. Kole's. The patient reported the same type of horrific comments. Please call me to further discuss your complaints.
Sincerely,
