I am disabled. I went to Kmart store 7098 on Tuesday, Dec.30, 2008. I was using a handicapped scooter to get around in the store. When I was ready to check out, I went to checkout stand #1. The sign overhead was not lit, but the cashier told me it was closed. The sign said that the register would be open at all times for the disabled. I asked to speak to the Manager, but I was greeted by the supervisor who told me, "Sorry, we can't help you on this register, but you can go to customer service." At customer service I asked to speak to the manager and was told he was not available. I want Kmart to stand by its promise to have a cash register available for handicapped people at all times!
