I just finished dealing with this company. I ordered a pair of boots from this company about 6 weeks ago and inquired as to when they would arrive. I was told a few weeks several times, so I decided to do some research and found out this guy has ripped a bunch of people off.
I immediately disputed the charges and the credit card company refunded my money. Thankfully, it had only been about three weeks so I was able to get my money back.
A few weeks later I received an email saying my boots had come in. Then, I received several phone calls (one message was left). This guy, 'Herb, ' said that my boots had come in and I needed to go back onto the website and reorder the exact same pair of boots so he could send them to me. I received another email after that from him pleading me not to leave him hanging.
Here is the email chain:
Hi (my name),
I have tried to reach you by phone a couple times. Your boots are here and Im waiting for the re-order so that I can have them shipped. You will get a tracking # when they get shipped. Im sorry there was such a delay in getting them here, but we were out of stock on them and had to order them special from Spain. Please do not leave me stuck with these boots.
I asked for a number to contact you over 2 weeks ago and you gave me the following response:
Hi (my name), Your boots are being worked on at the factory, they were out of stock on the 794 in a mens 10, They are due to be shipped directly from the factory Within about a weeks time. At this time I dont take calls cause im on the road a lot. So the best way to get answers is to just e-mail me here and I can better assist when im at my office.
E-mail me anytime you like
Herb - Sweet Boots
HERE IS MY RESPONSE I SENT HIM:
Due to your lack of grammar, refusal to give me and number to contact you, and your HORRIBLE reputation for business on the web, I disputed the charges. I gave you the absolute most amount of time I could to get those boots to me before I would lose my money forever. I have the right to protect myself as a consumer. I really wish you could have gotten the boots to me sooner...
At this point, I have nothing other than your word to ensure that the boots will actually reach me. Sorry, In this economy I have to protect myself. My advice to you - if you are a legitimate business, is to work on your reputation. I have already reported you to the FBI and the Better Business Bureau. If you attempt to contact me again I will report your phone number and email to the FBI.
APPARENTLY, HERB DOESN'T LIKE BEING CALLED OUT ON HIS SCAM. THIS IS THE RESPONSE I GOT:
Go ahead and report me, Im not afraid of you. Im an honest man doing an honest business. I gave you an honest answer. If im on the road how can I look up your order and check on it? Im sorry but your threat does not scare me, your not going to talk to me that way and expect that im just going to keep my mouth shut and sit here and take ### from you.
AT THIS POINT, I COULDN'T HELP SENDING ONE LAST EMAIL TO POINT OUT WHAT A LOSER THIS GUY IS.
You told me you would have the boots in two weeks over a month ago. I have rights as a consumer. Apparently, you didn't learn that in business school. I know you didn't learn grammar or business etiquette.
Bottom Line -- You should have gotten the boots to me when you promised.
So, go ahead and send me another email with threats and four letter words. Your (notice I know the difference between your and you're) business's reputation is only growing.
I'M STILL NOT SURE IF THIS GUY ACTUALLY HAS A BUSINESS OR NOT BECAUSE I READ A REVIEW THAT SOMEONE ACTUALLY DID RECEIVE THEIR BOOTS SIX MONTHS LATER. EITHER WAY, I'M NOT GOING TO DO BUSINESS WITH A PERSON LIKE HIM. IF YOU HAVE HAD AN ISSUE WITH, 'HERB, ' I STRONGLY SUGGEST POSTING YOUR COMPLAINT ON THE NET. IF YOU HAVE RECENTLY PURCHASED FROM HIM, CALL AND DISPUTE THE CHARGES IMMEDIATELY. GOOD LUCK.
