KIA Motors service department

I would like to complain about the dealership : Gervais Kia in lowell, ma. I had purchased a 2004 Kia Sorento 10 months ago. Since then, there have been numerous problems with it. Over two weeks ago, my car would not start. I had the car towed to the dealership and I still have not gotten it back. Every day that has gone by I had been told a different story. They will not give me a loaner car and they almost did not cover the repairs under warranty. I had to literally call Kia directly and complain about my rights as a consumer to get my car covered under warranty and to have some answers. I found out last night that the service dept. for the dealership has been lying to Kia too. They said my car was going to be ready today and still, I get no calls back explaining to me what is going on.
Please help. I have two kids and no ride to work now. I am extremely upset right now.

KIA Motors misrepresented car loan

I bought a car from them one year ago the car was sold to me
For six thousand dollars more then its worth, I was told I could come in after 8 months of paying and get it re financed
Also, I tried and was told I could not because the car is only
Worth 10, 000 and I still owe almost 17, 000. They wont do anything to help me, the car is changing colors and keeps having mechanical problems. All I wanted from them is a trade in or something else but they just shoot me down. I pay 400.00 a month car payments and feel like this company does not care.

KIA Motors bad service

Bought what was thought to be a NEW Kia Rondo 2008 on June 21, 2008

Yet it had 951 miles on it and It is Already Falling apart, Poor Gas Mileage and Weak!

We feel that we THREW away $20 thousand hard earned Blood Sweat and tears Money to Kia in Good Faith for what we thought was a "QUALITY...GAS EFFICIENT...ECONOMICAL" Car!

We were told by the salesman that with this Rondo model, we could expect to get 26 to 30 Mpg.

We just traveled from FL. were we bought this car and live to CA. and we averaged 19 MPG on the Highway!

Not to mention that we had to run with the air conditioner turned off for more than half the trip due to lack of power! This is the weakest 4 cyl...we have ever encountered!

The Upholstery is coming apart on one of the seats.

The Other seat will not lock into place and needs replaced already.

One of the third row seats back panels is coming off.

The horn at times will NOT work.

It pulls to the left despite already having to have an alignment.

One of the back seat belts locks with any slight movement to the point the person locked in it can barley move, causing that person to take it off & put it back on several times throughout the drive.

The engine and transmission makes weird noises and there has been a burning smell we have noticed but so far Kia service has denied any problems with this Kia.

With all this said we are VERY DISSAPOINTED and APPALLED at and with this KIA! We feel that this Kia they have sold us is FAR Below What they Claimed it would be! The Gas Mileage alone makes it a BAD PURCHASE! Our 2008 Toyota Tundra that has a V-8 gets 18/19 MPG on athe Highway...so for this 4 cyl to NOT get but 19 MPG there is something wrong here! What Happened to the 26-30 MPG?

Kia Autosport of Pensacola Meeting

Current mood: Highly Offended

Category: Highly Offended Automotive

Today Aug 7, 08

We had a meeting over all the issues above...we met with the following Kia Autosport Pensacola Reps.Bubba-Sales, Jessica Lee General Manager, Don-Service.

It started like this. We pulled up with our Rondo, Lettered up with how we feel about our Kia on our windows. We went inside and I asked for them to follow me out so that we could do a walk around and go over the list of issues. We were then "QUICKLY" escorted back inside. While inside, "WITHOUT OUR PERMISSION OR EVEN A WORD" they HELPED THEMSELVES TO OUR KEYS THAT WERE LAYING IN THE CAR AND MOVED IT AROUND BACK...it was Several minutes before we even noticed it was gone!

We then continued to go over all the issues, my husband and I felt as if they were "Manhandling and Intimidating us" at several points I felt HIGHLY OFFENDED! Here we had spent just under $20K in GOOD FAITH for what we thought was a GOOD QUALITY VECHICLE and its already falling apart and all they could do is Offend me and tell me there is NO WAY MY TUNDRA could get 18/19 MPG on the hwy. and that all cars are apt to have some issues to work out...and a break in period. They were Also quick, firm and Continually standing on that the mileage Kia puts on the stickers is ONLY an ESTIMATE...NEVER is it ACCURATE!

I felt as if they were Mocking me when I told them It never had a New car smell, Bubba came back with I can Fix that... as he sneered and chuckled! This is NO laughing matter to us, this is SERIOUS!

They asked to keep the car a few days to work on the issues and to check the gas mileage...However I asked them how are they going to estimate this accurately being there will not be but one person versus our 4 people in the vechilcle...they said that they are going to have "A" service technician drive it and we will have to use those numbers! That alone does not seem right or fair. But oh well they have already informed me that being we have over 8000 miles on this RONDO there is NOTHING much more they can do for us! However we bought this car THEM KNOWING we were leaving for a trip to California in a matter of days after buying it. I also Called the Salesperson and told him of some of the issues PRIOR to leaving and again once we got to CA. in which we were told to take it to the KIA dealer there...we did take it to RIverside KIA. So I will follow up and let you know the outcome of all this. But in the meantime... BUYERS DO YOUR HOMEWORK...LOOK over EVERY LINE, EVERY CREVICE AND DETAIL OF YOUR DREAM CAR..."BEFORE" YOUR SIGN ON THE DOTTED LINE!

KIA Threatens to call the Police

Current mood: Appalled

Aug 18th, 2008

We took the rental car back and went to pick up our car. Don Sheppard took me into see the cashier. I asked if they had looked at the tires being we had also mentioned that in the meeting of how they seemed to have excessive wear pattern once we had rotated them. He said no and I waited to see if he would again go over in detail on what and how things were doneâ...nothing. I asked where the sticker was and he asked someone for that and did hand that to me and just like NV. It was far Lower than we had been lead to believe it got. I left my husband there to finish up and I went outside. I proceeded to once again write on my windows how I felt of "MY experience with our Kia experience"... as they had washed it off! My husband came out and helped me to finish this writing and we proceeded to leave. However prior to leaving the parking lot Don Sheppard and Jessica came out and stopped us...He told us "TO LEAVE THEIR LOT...NOW BEFORE HE CALLS THE POLICE ON US!" That is what we were in the process of doing so to begin with.

That brings us to yet another major issue! One of the major decieding factors aside from the Great Gas Mileageâ...was the GREAT Warranty that this dealership was offering! FREE LIFETIME power train and FREE LIFETIME tires! Well now in order to take advantage of this warranty we MUST have ALL servicing and work done at their Autosport Kia Dealership! So now we feel that we have been, Violated, Bullied, Manhandled, Misrepresented, and now Threatened to have the Police called if we did Not leave! So how are we supposed to get our car worked on? How is our warranty going to be honored now? How can we in Good faith Pay More Money out for this type of treatment?

KIA responds

Current mood: distraught

Category: Automotive

Mr. Jimmy Wright from Kia customer care called me back with this...that KIA will stand behind and make sure that any and all "WARRANTY" issues are addressed and taken care of. That they cannot tell the dealers what and how to run their business. He also stated that Kia Autosport stated that they Only oredered us off the lot because we had put the lettering back on our car, and that they would still service our car as needed.

I told Mr. Wright that as an American...freedom of speech is my right...He then told me our conversation was OVER and the call ended

So I guess we are at a stale mate here. We have a car that was totally misrepresented to us...Already having issues with Falling apart and still not right including the transmission is still slipping and the power steering is getting harder and harder to drive. With the Nerve damage I suffer with in my neck it intesifies the pain I have therefore I have to get someone to drive me in my own car. Because We sure don't feel comftorable to take this car to be serviced at Kia Autosport of Pensacola FL. How would we EVER be able to trust them after what all they have already put us thru. How CAN we TRUST them now? Yet if we DO NOT TAKE it for service to them We loose our "LIFETIME warranties on the Powertrain & Tires" ! Something that is very important in any car but especially a KIA that is already having issues!

So as of today I have posted a Video on YOUTUBE!

I bought a 2007 Rondo and I loved it. Actually this is my 3erd Kia, I've had a 1998 Sohia, 2003 Spectra, and now a 2007 Kia Rondo andI love how confortable it is, you sit up high and there is lots of space. There is lots of leg room on the rear pasanger seats, and lots of storage space. It also great gas milage about 26mpg on highway and it runs smooth and quick response for a 4 cyl car. In addition, this is a very dependable car. After I used it for a year I gave it to my son when he graduted from college and he love it
It's a great car and we are really sorry Kia doesn't built it anymore. We really wanted to buy another one.

Sorry friends, but I desagree, the Kia Rondo is a great economical and dependable car.

We haven't had all of those problems with our 2007 Rondo up until now there were only minor bugs (which they have denied exist). But today I took my car to the brake shop because I could hear a rubbing. The car only has 25, 000 miles and has already run through the rear pads and rotors. The mechanic looked my dead in they eye and said "this car is not safe to drive" until the brakes are fixed! He also said that in our area (northern state) those should have been good until at the soonest 40, 000 miles. The repair shop at the dealer is closed until Monday. I am looking at a $400 bill for a problem 16, 000 miles too early. I hope they fix it, we bought the warranty we took a chance on a new car so as to avoid repair costs! I will update our experience.

KIA Motors low gas mileage

I bought my 2005 KIA Spectra5 new in September 2005. My intitial gas mileage was 15 mpg. I was told it would increase and be at or near the sticker mpg after 6000 miles. At 12.000 miles on the odomenter I now get a rousing 19 mpg in town and 22 mpg on the highway.
Needless to say, I am disappointed! When I ask about I am told over and over again that I am driving it worng. I have driven many cars in my 65 years and am so very suprised to learn that I don't know how to drive this 4 cyl. automatic car.
I can't even get a service department to take it in for a look see.
I tell everyone who asks me about my KIA not to buy one. I will continue to do so.

KIA Motors just plain double talk from this company

I have a 2002 KIA Sedona with 54, 000 miles on it, bought it new so I am the only owner of this piece of crap. All scheduled maint. has been done by authorized KIA dealers. I took it in for its 60, 000 mile maint. check-up and was told that the timing belt needed to be replaced. After looking in the Warranty book I found that this is considered a part of the 100, 000 mile power train warranty so I approved the work, thinking that it was covered under warranty as stated on page 4 in the booklet under Power train coverage. To my surprise when I went to pick it up after 2 days, I was hit with a $600 timing belt charge with labour. After a long discussion with the service manager with no results, I called KIA Customer service in California. I was told that the timing belt was not covered because it was worn and since it is rubber it gets worn out, however if the new belt broke, they may cover that. I read this dummy who could hardly speak English word for word from the booklet that says the timing belt is included in the 120 month/100, 000 mile warranty. She then asked me if I felt that they should be required to replace the tires too if they were worn out. I told her this was a completely different situation, their service techs said the belt was bad and needed to be replaced, and this is a warranty part and she again said that this belt wearing out is considered normal wear and tear, so it is not covered. I told her every part on the vehicle has wear and tear so what was her point in that statement. She told me that rubber wears so it is not covered and the dealership was well within its rights to charge me for replacement. I asked her what kind of warranty plan do you people have. She then said if the belt had actually broke it may be covered under certain circumstances. I told her that was the dumbest thing I have ever heard to allow a belt that the dealership said was about to break before they might consider it under certain circumstances, I asked her what circumstances, and she said it is on a case per case basis. If I would have said do not replace it and it broke, they would then tell me that we were advised to replace it and since we didn't it was our fault. Talk about a bunch of double talk. Why put this part in the warranty booklet if it is not covered? I told her when my headlight went out on my Explorer, Ford picked up the tab 100% with labour and that went out because of normal wear and tear, but she again went off on how rubber wears and so they could not cover that. I will never buy another KIA ever.

KIA Motors engine blows and warranty is not valid

My timing belt goes out at 65000 mile and blows my engine up. When I called KIA they said that the engine is only warranted up to 60000 miles and will fix it and add the bill to the already existing bill I have. Who knows a car that the engine blows at 65000 miles and isn't mad? And do they know that engine for this car is hard to come by just for the fact that this has happened to the same car over and over? And what happened to 100, 000 mile bumper to bumper warranty? Doesn't the engine fall in between the front and back bumper? Mine did until it blew and we had to take it apart.

Kia gives out false advertising and I wouldn't dare tell anyone to go buy any car from them because they won't be satisfied and everything that goes wrong with their cars are not their fault. They just want the money and I would suggest to buy a car that will hold up and be worth the money that is actually paid.

Same thing happened to me had 4400 as in 4 thousand 400 miles on a rebuilt engine. I was told there was no warranty on the car after I picked it up. My wife broke down on a very cold and damp day (after hours at dealership) I had my car towed t o my mechanic who put it on the computer and was given a fault of Camshaft position sensor and Crankshaft position sensor. He replace each and the engine was not in time so he suggested I bring it to the dealer who rebuilt the engine. they told me that the repair(rebuilt motor was void because my mechanic replaced the sensor. 4400 miles and there is not doubt in my mind the problem was with the repair technicians at the dealership who did not properly repair the engine. As the person stated Kia blames someone else. This after they gave me the run around for over 4 months. And they want to rave about quality. After being told no warranty when I picked up the car with a supposed new engine WHY would i bring it to the dealership to repair. They want $2500 to fix now. I appealed and after being told I would have an answer in 2 working days it took me a week and several phone calls to get the answer...It was the same exact wording from the service manager Not covered because an outsider worked on it. Did not know there was any kind of warranty on the rebuilt until this time 12000 miles (I only had 4400)

What their shop tells you and what is in the owners manual is worlds apart.these kia shops deliberately lie and sell maintenance the owners manual does not call for.my owners manual says 7500 miles for oil changes, so every 3000 is a ripoff.since I use Mobil 1, changing oil at 3000 miles is pure stupid, and just greed on their part.and the owners manual does not list a 30, 000 transmission flush, or a 2 year 24000 mile coolant flush.

KIA Motors bad car

I bought my car on 6/10/08. I drove it home and later that night I went to leave and the car wouldn't start, it sounded like it was trying to turn over and wouldn't. Before I left the dealership they said the car went through a carfax and a 181pt inspection and everything was checked out on the car. I went to pick up my parents the next day to take the car back and it died on me twice on the interstate. We noticed that it was leaking oil and it had an oil trail all the way up the driveway. The service guy confirmed that it was oil and they wanted to keep the car to figure out what was wrong. They said that there was something wrong with the thermistat and they replaced a $25 part on it. They called me to come pick it up and when we got there it was sill leaking, but this time it looked like anti-freeze. They came out and looked at it and one of the guys said that he hoped it wasn't the head gasket. I went back on 6/13/08 to ask for my money back on the car and they refused to give it to me. They said nothing was wrong with the car. I believe that they're trying to screw me over because I'm a woman. The car hasn't held up to the 181pt inspection that they said it passed. I'm really concerned that there is something seriously wrong with the engine and I think the car is going to die. I asked them to show me all the paperwork on the car showing what they serviced before putting it on the lot and everything that they replaced. The manager couldn't show me any of the paperwork. When I went back to look at the car I noticed that the bumper was hanging down in front and there was a big scratch on the left end of the car. Both of these blemishes was not on the car when I bought it, so I want to know where they came from. I just want my money back for the car since I don't think I got what I paid for and what they said I was getting.

this is the second letter sent on March 18...

Thank you for your quick response, I have been contacted by your
representative in Iran on March first. I have explained my situation
to them and still waiting for an answer.

I would like to elucidate this annoying situation that I am in to you;
Since 21/11/2017 I have subscribed and paid cash (639.258.000RLS.) for
a Cerato 2017 model 2017 to be delivered on 19/02/2017 the only unpaid
part was the %5 taxes; three months and 10 days later (29/02/2017)
not only I did not have my car but I have been asked to pay another
(420.000.000Rls.) + %5 taxes in order to get my car. Their explanation
to such action was that the exchange rate has gone up since then.

It was unclear to me as of why I should pay the profit on my
investment to them if so I must charge them the interest and the
profit on my money for the past 16 months.
I took my case to the court and won the case as they had the option to
protest they took it so that they can buy some time.

I am a retired employee and this money was the result of 30 years of
my hard work. It is hard for me to assume such huge failure in my
life.

I am asking you to intervene and integrate your representative here so
that we could end this matter here and now. This cannot be the policy
of a respectful company such as kia which I was proud to have a car
from.

Sincerely yours,
M. Mehditabar

I went to purchase a vehicle on 09/03/07 from this car dealer ship, I spoke with a young man I told him what I wanted my payments to be and how much I had for a down payment. I had looked at a specific vehicle but they told me I had "light" credit so they had another vehicle and I could get this vehicle for 8/9 months and switch vehicles. So I agreed to get this vehicle I took the vehicle home, before I took the car home I was told I needed to pay my payments at any chase .I was also was told to lie on the interview the bank gives. And when the bank called the dealer. The dealer called me and said that I had to put more money down after I already had the car. I told the dealer could I get my deposit back cause I did not have any more money.

And the dealer told me I could not get my money back. Then I received a call from the dealer after that to say chase would not be financing me. Now I have a vehicle no bank to pay but the dealership says the car is mine and the title is still in their name and I have no plates for the cr and the owner of the dealership said continue to drive with those plates and if you get stopped we will pay for the tickets and we will try to get you financed from someone else.

So I am stuck with a car that I am not financed for and can't drive!

I have a 2017 KIA Sorento and have had the same part go out twice. I bought the car new and can't believe that the same part goes out every 30, 000 + miles. The ESC Off light displays and I lose engine power/acceleration. Looks to be a common problem and I think KIA should pay for the part. I called your customer service only to be told that I am out of warranty (69, 000) even though the part doesn't even have 32, 000 miles on it. I wanted to speak to the district manager only to be told that he doesn't speak to the public. Last I knew I was your customer, now that something is wrong I am the general public. If this is what KIA is all about, I made a terrible decision of purchasing a KIA in the first place.

I purchased a beand new 2017 Kis Sportage on 1/14/2017. Loman Ford paid off my existing car, Ford Mustang. 30 days after the transaction I received my monthly statement from Ford for the Mustang. Upon contacting them I was notified that Loman never paid the car off. When I contacted Loman Ford they apologized and sent out a check immediately. Several days later I was contacted by Ford, the check had bounced. I made numerous calls to Loman Ford with no return calls until I threatened to show up there and inform customers of what has happened. A check was finally overnighted to Ford. GThe following week I dropped off the title to the Mustang that I received in the mail. The following day (today) I have a malfunction light lit in my car and have been waiting for someone to call me back since all employees are in a meeting..

Purchased a KIA brand factory approved front protector(bra). After 6 months the material is coming apart. I was lead to believe the item had a 1 year warranty. Niether the dealer or KIA will honor their warranty.

the car is crap and so is the commercial, I am embarrassed when I watch it in front of my kids. I bought a KIA a few years ago and traded it in a month later and lost several thousands of dollars in the process, but the car had to go. It fell apart daily and had absolutely no power in 4 wheel drive to get up hills when it was snowing. What a death trap!
The commercial is a sexual parade that is not appropriate for any programing. the FCC should remove it.

My Daughter was just in an accident with a 2005 KIA Spectra. The entire front of the car is gone. Her airbags did not deploy. We bought the car new and there was never an accident before therefore no reason to reset them. Thank god she was not injured but her boyfriend sustained a large cut to his eye requiring 18 stithes after hitting his head od the dash. they were both wearing seatbelts. Ihave to wonder if there is anything we can do

KIA Motors extremely dissatisfied with kia motors america

We have a 2005 Sorento that since almost new has had a highly intermittent shifting problem in the defective manual transmission.

We have documented several times via telephone and by certified letters to Kia Motors America Inc. When we asked, Kia denied any other documented cases of our problem.

Even though we have confirmed that we are not an isolated case at the dealer and this problem is a serious safety issue Kia Inc. refuses to honor their warranty and will not replace our transmission (or anyone's with this exact problem). For the record, the dealer has been extremely courteous and professional but we understand their hands are tied due to corporates indifference.

We are not surprised that Kia has not duplicated the intermittent shifting problem during test driving but that does not mean it does not exist. Kia will not accept responsibility for their vehicle. Kia Inc. is "dropping the ball" big time.

Keep in mind that we are dealing with a defective component that impairs the safety of our vehicle and endangers our lives. (We are not talking about just a luxury item i.e. clock, cd players etc.)

Kia dealers have informed us that very few manual transmission Sorento's are sold in the USA so our problem is appearing in very limited numbers. Perhaps too few for a defect to become apparent. If more consumers were complaining of their unsafe vehicles due to defective transmission then Kia would be forced to give this problem the immediate attention it deserves. A recall begins with just one consumer's complaint.

We are sickened by their non-solution to our problem. We have documented repeatedly with Kia Inc. that our Sorento is an unsafe vehicle and should not be allowed on the road until it's defect has been corrected. As far as Kia is concerned the problem does not exist.

Kia's message to us is that they do not value our safety in a vehicle they manufactured. DISGUSTING!

If the situation were reversed the very same Kia Inc. staff adamantly refusing assistance to us would understand how frightening it is to be driving our unsafe Sorento and would insist that Kia Inc. take full responsibility and immediate action to correct the problem. I seriously doubt they would accept Kia Inc. telling them there is nothing they can do to help them. If those same Kia Inc. employees were behind the wheel of our unsafe Sorento with their families including their young children or young grandchildren maybe they wouldn't be so quick to deny that the problem exists.

Here is what happens when we are driving our Sorento: intermittently, suddenly we can not shift gears at all and of course, the vehicle will not move at all. It has happened upshifting in first pulling away from lights and pulling out into traffic and upshifting and downshifting in higher gears. We have been in the middle of intersections, in city traffic and highway driving. We immediately turn on our emergency flashers and wave other drivers around us while they are honking, yelling, and slamming on their brakes to avoid hitting us. We repeatedly try to shift gears and finally get it to shift again and move to safety. Very unsettling to say the least.

My wife is afraid to drive our vehicle and I fear for her, my children and young grandchildren, as well as my own safety. Every time we make a left turn or pull out into traffic we wonder if this is the time it will happen again. Driving is stressful enough without this added dangerous burden!

We are absolutely shocked and disgusted at Kia Motors Inc.'s unacceptable customer service. We are not being unreasonable by asking for a replacement transmission. At this point we should be asking for a replacement vehicle! We don't even know if a replacement transmission will be defect free or have the same problem but we have only asked for new transmission.

I was sold and installed bad breaks when I attempted to returned the worker stated that the life time parts warranty had expired. I would not accept another KIA or have car services at a KIA dealership if they both were free. The car is good until it have to be services. the car is only 6 years but I have had the brakes services 12 times the car was brought for my mom but I had to take over the high payments (another story) fear of one day mom in a ditch because of the brakes had other service done at the dealership and was not pleased I brought mom a Honda and she has been very pleased.

I have a kia sorento 2007, I brought it in for a recall on the brake light switch behind the pedal. They suggested I change the cabin filters as well as the air filter which I did and asked them that they change the oil while they have it. Well, what a mistake, theres a plastic cage that sticks down through the oil filter to keep it in place and wouldnt you know of course it was broken and they say it fell down in to the engine. So $1800.00 later for the repair and $317.00 for a rented car while they had my truck 6 days its fixed. I stopped payment on the check after I drove away thinking that KIA would do something about it because I still have approx 20, 000 miles left on my warranty "NOT" the repair service tech said it was the guy before him that broke it wouldnt you know and of course KIA took that hook line and sinker. I live in Manchester N.H. so if you go to their KIA'S site and find the closest dealer in the 03103 area code you will see which crooked dealership I had to deal with for this. Great job by the government to let cars in this country that promise the world to sell, go ahead try to collect on any warranty issues with this company. There is a loophole for every part on these automobiles. And the government lets it go on and on and on and on without stepping in. Mike H.

Report all these problem together with documented proof to the national highway safety administration. If they find that this is in fact a safety issue they will order kia motors to issue a recall.

KIA Motors another extremely poor quality kia vehicle!

Here are the problems I had with my 2002 kia sedona ex:

Gas gauge – after filling up with gas, the gauge immediately moved to half but took about five minutes to move from half to full.

It also didn’t read accurately. While driving, it slowly dropped (As would be expected). The problem here was, it showed only 1/2 a tank of fuel when it's really 3/4 full.

Trip computer / overhead console – the digital display for the various overhead console functions was wrong. For instance, it showed time as 3:69 p. M. And the temp readings were preceded by a small l.

Sliding doors – on the left sliding doors, the plastic bushing busted off the center support brackets causing the door to bind.

Windshield wipers – completely failed when the connecting bushings fell apart.

Interior door handles –the handle actuates a cable attached to the latch, allowing the door to open when the handle is pulled. The cable seemed to have too much slack in it, making it difficult to open the door from the inside. The interior door handle on the left (In my case, driver's) side simply broke off because it is non-reinforced plastic

Oil usage – in just under 3, 000 miles, it leaked and/or burned about 3/4 of a quart. There's no evident leak, so i'm guessing that it's the latter.

Air conditioner – leaked refrigerant slowly and then ceased to function.

Engine – jerked (Or stalled) hard, threw on check engine light but continued to run.

Paint – the paint beneath the rear window peeled. Clearcoat paint on piece above license plate "alligatored" or "checked."

Airbag light — airbag light was constantly lit.

Warning lights – warning lights for charging system and brake never light (Bulbs test okay).

Charging system – this malfunctioned, requiring replacement of alternator.

Acceleration – sometimes ran at idle speed even when trying to accelerate.

Glove compartment door – failed to close entirely, allowing inside light to stay on.

Cruise control – periodically shut off automatically and could not be turned back on until the vehicle was stopped, shut off, and restarted.

Leather cover – peeled off of the shifter and had to be re-glued.

Sun visors – plastic broke causing mirror covers to fall out.

They had to be replaced.

I have a 2014 kia rio and have just been told I need new brakes. There are only 20, 000 km on it. I find this atrocious that I need to spend this much money on a 3 year old car. I will never recommend it. Ive had many new cars and have never had to purchase new brakes at such a low mileage.
