I went to K&G's Fashion Superstore in Cincinnati, Ohio(formally known as K&G's Men's Warehouse) to shop for some new suits. I couldn't find anyone in the store to initially help me. There were sales clerks there, but they were busy talking with each other.

I've purchased shirts and ties there on a number of occasions, and thought it would be a good place to get a suit.

I found two suits that I was interested in, but the jackets were too large. I had to walk over to get one of the sales associate to ask for help. Once "Chris" came over, I asked about the jacket, and if it could be altered. He said he wasn't sure, and that we should take it over to the tailor on duty.

He took me to the back, and basically "handed" me to the tailor in the back, who didn't speak very good English at all.

I told her I wanted the suits, if the jackets and the pants could be altered. She marked the pants, and then the jackets. I asked her if the jacket would fit, and she said yes. I then was directed to pay for the suits and the alterations up at the checkout.

I picked the suits up a week later and took them home. I tried them on at the house... when I did, the jackets looked like I was wearing a large tortilla instead of a suit.

The buttons were sown five inches to the side and gapped in the front. I was very upset. It was obvious to me that the suit wasn't going to work for me.

I took the jackets to the store, and asked to speak with "Keith", the manager on duty. I explained the situation, and he took me to the tailor in the back of the store, and walked away. The tailor said that they could not do anything about the suits except move the buttons back into place(which they did). The tailors are a separate company from K&G's Fashion Store, and said they were not responsible. The tailor said the clerk on duty should have taken measurements and guided me to the suit sizes that I needed. K&G's Fashion Superstore said they were not responsible because the tailor was the one who altered them, and should have known how they were going to look.

As a result, I was not offered a refund or exchange of any type from K&G's Fashion Superstore Cincinnati, and had to leave the store.

I immediately went to a tailor that we use, and they were able to fix the jackets, but for an additional $80. Not to mention the time and gas I was out to try to get the $400 suits to fit.

The service from both K&G's Fashion Superstore in Cincinnati, and from the tailors that they contract out was terrible, and I'll never ever go back there again.

K&G Fashion Store Management:

It is with deep regret that I send this disturbing letter to your office for serious review of store policies, standards and work ethics.

I have been shopping at this store for quite some time now, traveling a good distance, which would be approximately 60-70 miles from my place of residence. On June 15, 2011, I came to your Ellsworth Ind. Blvd. location to purchase several suits, shoes and accessories. I was denied a purchase of a suit because of tags not matching size and showing discrepancies of the color of the suit on the tag. After hours of shopping, matching suits with shoes, ties, shirts, and even being measured for alterations, a total waste of time and gas was exibited. My purchase total would have well exceeded $600-700 dollars.

What was more humiliating was for me to get measured in the fitting room by the seamstress and staff and
come out and get to the cashier and put the coat on again at the counter for the cashier. What was the purpose of that embarrasment after being told by the cashier that there was no way the suit could be sold to me.

I even had a customer standing next to me witnessed the request by the cashier for me to turn around and then replied, "Oh yea, you got some junk in your trunk". My wife was totally in outrage and almost lost in when those words were verbalized by your employee. We have never in a lifetime been so humiliated, embarrased, and offended.

We were even more surprised when learning that we were at the Atlanta corporate office location. Why wasn't a store manager contacted at the check out counter? A store with the volume of business and high customer participation, there must have been one on duty.

I have witheld the name of the employee until I recieve a response. Please do not take this letter lightly because it is a very serious matter. A speedy response will be deeply appreciated and we would like this matter addressed as soon as possible. I left my number at the store counter, but do not want to be contacted by anyone other than the management that will be addressing this letter. If we do not hear back from the store in such an appropriate time, we will take this matter further.

I'm back to Nordstrom...after management recieved this complaint, they said they had a conversation with the employee and couldn't discuss anything else due to employee confidentiality. Employee protected and CUSTOMER humiliated and offended. This is by far from being over with.

Respectfully,

R

I wish I'd researched complaints online prior to shopping at the K&G Fashion Superstore in Glen Burnie Maryland...POOR customer service from a manager name "Sam"...if management don't care about retaining customers, you can be sure the sales associates don't care...I'll never give that retailer another cent...you get want you pay for...no more shopping discount...taking my business back to Nordstroms!
