KEMP Windows & Sidings / Scammers and liars
We contracted with KEMP WINDOWS & SIDING in December, 2008. They offered a 3 day cancellation. I gave them a deposit check that was supposed to be held and not cashed until after the cancellation deadline. After checking on-line and seeing this report and reviewing the product closer, we decided to cancel and singed the notice and sent it to the sales rep, who acknowledged that he received it and it was acceptable. Kemp decided to cash my check anyway! When I called him in January to get my money back, he said he would send me a check, 'mistakes happen', but then tried to pressure me into not canceling and he would give me a better deal, but refused to tell me how much better. When I declined his offer he hung up on me! His receptionist did a great job of filtering my calls after that. After 2 more attempts to reach him, my husband called and he said he was sending the check that week, that was in mid-February. We have not received a dime. He has never answered our calls nor our e-mails. The sales rep has also failed to respond to my e-mail asking for his assistance. We have filed a civil case against him in Fairfax County and I will file an update. I am pursuing further by contacting the Consumer Protection Agency and will be filing complaints as to his business practice and I will refer them to this website. Also, the company representative noted that they have a clean record with the BBB. However, I checked the BBB and he has had 3 complaints, 1 filed in the last 12 months for failure to give a refund and 2 for service. They are currently 'A' rated, but I have recently filed a complaint. I urge anyone else who has a problem to file a complaint with the BBB, this will bring their rating down to where it belongs, an 'F'!
