I would like to warn all parents before they take their child to "try out" Karate Atlanta. I have spoken with several parents whom have had similar experiences. They entice you to try the program for a super low fee. The kids enjoy that 30-day trial. Then you are required to commit to a minimum of 6-months and hundreds of dollars. My child hated the program within 2-weeks of the beginning of the 6-month contract. I switched another child into the spot and he hated it as well. My children are very social and involved in multiple group and individual sports and activities. There is no reason to continue to take a families money for a program that has no value. In addition tp paying the outrageous group class rates, then you have to pay for testing; the testing is held at the same time, place, and with he same instructors as the class that you have already paid for. the class is canceled and you have to pay for another bogus fee during the same class time. I warn any family considering this program to think very hard before committing to any contract.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Like the first comment you should shop around. Worst mistake parent make is going to activity just because it is close to home. No all schools require long contracts. Many schools that are part of a chain can also be about the business model/system and not great for the consumer. According to the complaint the kids did do a cheaper trial but the parents still signed up on the 6 month contract. They had plenty of time to decide if they were enrolling or not. Most good schools give the parents a full price package their first visit. That way they have plenty of time to make a decision during the 2-4 week trial period. At the end of the day "buyer beware". Don't sign something you don't feel comfortable with. Contracts a Contract. If you don't have month-month option like most major healthclubs (you should if martial arts school is confident of their program) and you sign a contract be responsible for it.
Martial arts for your children is an investment. You should try a few schools out not just the one closest to your home. Search them on Google and read the reviews then see them in person. Martial arts can be unbelievable for your children but you have to do some research first.
