Placed an order of 500 soccer balls from Mr Iftikhar-Kabir Sports PVT in Pakistan.
2nd October 2012 - Made first payment of $2400 (70% of order amount)
8 October - Told me that i paid last than the agreed amount. Then later acknowledge that he was wrong.
17 October - Sent me an email informing me that the goods has been sent to the custom for processing.
"We are pleased to inform you that we have handed over your ordered footballs 500 pieces to cargo/forwarding agent to complete all custom process + paper work to hand over to airline to uplift for Singapore.More information about this shipment to be forwarded you by our next e.mail message."
20 October - Sent an email telling me of a change in the custom policy. Asking me to make more payment to him for clearance of the goods.
"We have got problem as we just got phone call from clearing/forwarding/cargo company that they got cleared the goods from custom etc and fulfilled other documents/paper work formalities as well.
Therefore, AIRLINE is asking for the AIR FREIGHT COST in advance as they told us that airline has just changed their policy as during past years we have been getting the CREDIT for 15 days or for ONE MONTH from them and during this period you know we have been getting the payment from your side and have been paying to airline, but now airline is asking for the payment up-front means cash and then they will accept the cargo. So viewing above situation, we strongly request your honor to arrange for the balance payment to send us by WESTERN UNION enabling us to pay airline so goods may got uploaded for the Singapore."
20 October - I rejected his request for more money. He replied that there is no way to send the goods unless i send him more money.
24 October - After many emails and threats of not receiving our goods, i transferred another $437.84.
2 November - Confirmed that he had received the money. But came up with story that during the holiday weekend the goods went missing while it was under the custom.
"Yes, we got the money and paid to our forwarding/cargo agent to pay airline and also to hand over the goods to airline which were lying under custom bonded warehouse controlled by Pakistan Custom Authorities. Our agent just informed us today that after finishing of religious holidays they went back to that custom bonded area but they could not
locate the goods. They further told us that during these holidays, there were few incidents occurred in that area as some part of the warehouse was got flood water and some parts was got fired and also due to this mishap lot many shipments/goods are un-located as those were shifted in hurry some other alternative places so still they are trying to locate the goods with the help of custom authorities and inform us back once these are located."
This is obviously a lie and he is trying to make up story to cover up for himself.
2-4 November - Tried emailing him and he only gave me negative news, telling me that the goods cannot be found.
9 November - He replied "As we would receive the payments from our customers from Europe within 2nd or 3rd week of this month so after that we will manufacture your order and dispatch you during end of this month or start of next month at the latest."
22 November - He replied and said he could not provide the soccer balls as promised.
"Our customer from Europe is late in paying us so we suggest you to buy the number of balls from the local market which you need for a event on 8th of December to fulfill your customer requirement since our customer has delayed the payment so we can start the production only after receipt of the payment from our customer. Sorry for the in-convenience but delayed is from our customer who has not paid us on the committed date."
3 December - His reply: "We regret to inform you that we still did not get the funds from our European buyers so that is the reason we could not start the production yet. Once we get the funds and we start the production, we will inform you right way."

This was the last email he sent and since then i tried to send him many emails and even tried calling his office number in Pakistan but to no avail.

I even wrote to Mr M. Kashif Almas Vice President of Sialkot Chamber [protected]@scci.com.pk. But he did not take up the case and referred me to Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, Sialkot. I wrote many times to the Authority, Mr. Basit Rauf but no reply till now.

I am really disappointed with the entire incident and i hope you can help to channel my case to the right authority who could handle this trade complaint. I have not just lost on the money but my company reputation is seriously damage because of this irresponsible action of Kabir Sports Pvt. who is operating and running a business in Pakistan.
I want to put a stop to this injustice and prevent him from cheating more merchants and buyers.

Please advise me on the appropriate action. Thank you.

Same problem. Placed orders and had no issues. The last order was $5500 US sent the money but no balls. He agreed to a payment schedule after I talked to the Pakistan Trade Commission in Canada. But I still have nothing from them.

Same problem here
went missing after deposit of a big order
does not reply to emails or phone
was not suspicious as i worked with him for 9 years, on and off
but never on big orders
Strong suspicion he is just a middle company with no facilities, and no real business
Something must be done to put this kind of people out of business with no bank account
any legal actions possible in Pakistan?

Hi,
My name is Alain BOURGEON, I'm french, I was running a trading company some years ago. I worked with Kabisport from 1990. In that time the company was managed by mr RachidSoofi. I introduced this company on the french market and placed big orders. When Mr Iftikhar Soofi joined the company, problems began. Quality problems, late deliveries etc...
I faced many problems with my major customers and never got payment of my commissions. More than 20 000 US$ hae not been paid.
He promissed, promissed, delayed payment, then just disappeared.
Just expect to meet MrSoofi one day who knows, during the ISPO fair for example.
PLEASE DON'T WORK WITH THIS GUY AND FORGET KABIR SPORT.
