John Robert Powers International JRP scammed me for $3100!

I signed my daughter up for unlimited classes until age 21 she is almost 29yrs old. I digned her eith JRP when she was 12yrs old. I have been looking for this company for years. I was deceived and betrayed. I took that from money put up for college for my daughter who just graduated from high school this past May 2013. We didn't really have the money to do that but they played on us. Several months down the line. No company to go to. I was given a two for one special. Two children for the price of one. I am so glad I didn't go with the first deal or I would have been out of $5, 000-$6, 000! If there is ANYONE on here that can help me or knows of a class action lawsuit against them please e-mail me that info. t_meridian [protected]@yahoo.com

John Robert Powers International Terrible scamming company

This "modeling school" is a terrible thing. They somehow got my number and told me they wanted to see me because I could be one of the candidates to attend the modeling school. At first they are super nice and tell you pretty much whatever you want to hear. Once I got there and saw what kinda school it was, it was terrible. It was small and pretty old. Once we told the guy who attended us that we weren't interested he was rude and pretty much told me I was going to fail at life. He also insulted my mother and called us stupid. Worst experience of my life.

John Robert Powers International This is a just a rip-off company

First of all they show you a video with a bunch of disney tv stars so that you think they put them through school. FACT: none of the disney stars actually went through their school. they are only contracted to say that they did. They are getting paidto say that they used john robert powers agency.

Secondly, they tell you that they only have a limited number of spots open and your child has been selected. FACT: they tell that to every one so you make a quick decision and feel like your child has a real opportunity.

Third, the agent tells you that all your money is refundable IN FULL. FACT: in the smallest fine print the contract they want you to sign states that all of the money is refundable EXCEPT the intial payment of 300$! therefore your money is NOT REFUNDABLE IN FULL! like the agent states. Plus to cancel a contract with them they want you to get anotarized letter and mail it to the corporate office within three business days of signing the contract. Its easiest to just cancel your card and get a new one.

Lastly, this is a just a rip-off company that has been around for as long as it has because it knows how to get through legal loop holes. All the women who claim to be actressess are really paid off women from foreign countries. This company sells you fake information to make you feel like yourchild really has something special so they can take your money and use the legal system to their benefit doing so.

Terrible Terrible experience. The agent who helped us was named Andrea, she was of asian desent (i am not racist, simply describing her to the best of my ability for the next potential victim) her direct cell is [protected]).

John Robert Powers International Do not get sucked in

I was hired by Michael Elbert as a vendor & after receiving compliments on my work from Inna Michelle Elbert, I was later stiffed. I know of FIVE vendors whose checks bounced within one month of my encounter so there is no hope of suing when they are busy laundering their money. They are criminals. STAY AWAY!

It does not matter what your children look like. They want all of them & they want your money. Forget about confidence building techniques...if they file Chapter 11 because they can't pay their bills then why would you risk giving them any money? Real model agencies & acting schools do not have lists of complaints like JRP. I know a model agent who was hired to see children from JRP, paid by Michael Elbert, & the agent only hires adults. Just a way to pretend to keep people happy & feel like you are getting somewhere. It's a scam from start to finish.

It is hard to even categorize these people as human. Charming on the outside, but very nasty, greedy, & absolutely dispicable on the inside. It actually doesn't take much to get Michael Elbert to show his aggressive side. Michael & Inna are ACTING when they shower you & your children with praise.

John Robert Powers International First Class Scam Artist

I was told that my daughter needed head shots taken for the BIG talent show after the 5 classes of training. The photo shot was $600.00 dollars for 2 head shots. We received a disc the day before the show and we had to have the pictures printed out ourselves. Needless to say my daughters school pictures where better than these, and of course after my initial complaint my calls or emails are no longer answered. WORD OF ADVICE STAY FAR AWAY THEY ARE CROOKS!

I, too, feel completely disappointed in the iPOP organization. My son has been asked to attend the 2011 iPOP Presentation of Performers in January. I was told when we signed up for the Regional Showcase that we would be showcasing his talent in front of several agents. There was only 3 agents at the regional showcase. We were also told that only 21 would be called back to continue the endeavor at the National showcase. 21 were not called back...ALL kids were called back because many (with natural talent) declined to continue because iPOP was requesting more money for the national level. Many parents were under the impression that at the regional area, that their child could be given a chance to possibly fulfill their dream during this time. On the contrary, $6, 000 dollars was way to steep for many families in our Area. Of course, this did not include air fare or meals. If these companies are doing the right thing by showcasing fresh new faces to the industry, they should not be asking for so so much money. I am an educator and have traveled to professional workshops throughout the country and by no means is it that expensive to stay at the Hyatt and get the education needed to assist these kids and their families. This is a RIP OFF. I have made numerous attempts by phone and email for Brittney Adams to return my call for questions I still have about the National level showcase. NO ONE has returned my calls or emails. This is completely unprofessional and not good business to disregard our concerns. I am no longer interested in going to this event...my son is continuing his high school education and will continue at the collegiate level. He has the passion for the industry and will not give up on his dream. I believe in him and have faith that things will happen when the time is right. Shame on you iPOP for what you do! It is not fair to drag many of these children and their families to these performances unless you truly feel they have the talent. Do not try to scam those who you only want their money!

John Robert Powers International Saddened

I went online to read about an audition for kids today out in seattle at a macys. i dont even know if i am reading about the same company that my husband took our daughter to. all i know is i hope they didnt wait forever to be discouraged. just by reading comments like these pro or con. you all saddened me. this was for experience & fun. i dont need my 6 yr old to have her dreams taken by critics like you. we dont have 5000 or even 1000 to put to an agent. we just wanted a chance.

John Robert Powers International Scam and rip off

I took my daughter to John Robert Powers for a trial, but did not proceed with it. My mother wrote a check for almost $2000 dollars and I signed the

contract with the knowledge that I can cancel within the 3 days. I cancelled the next day. They had already cashed the check. I was taken to

collections and it is now on my credit report against me.

John Robert Powers is a rip off and a scam. I can't get a hold of anyone

to get this taken off of my credit. I don't know who to contact to resolve it.

John Robert Powers International Think about your child not the money

Our daughter attends JRP classes in Omaha, NE. She's 12, and 5 feet 5 inches. Well, she just finished. Next, she was auditioned and was selected for IPOP 2010 in Las Vegas, NV (we found out yesterday). We paid $1, 950 for JRP Classes, $600 for a Photo Shoot and now need to come up with a minimum of $5, 800 for her to attend IPOP. This doesn't even cover the clothing, Spa treatments, etc.

No, I'm not complaining. Our daughter has never expressed such a strong interest in something before. I mean she took the initiative to respond to the radio ad, put herself through the pain of waxing and gave up basically every weekend for the last 2 months just for this. As my husband says, it's a lot of money, but even if she walks away with nothing in the form of contracts or work, he thinks it's worth it. Because he feels it's a good experience for her to go through. She's had fun, made friends, she's more confident and will be able to use this as a positive experience throughout her life.

If you have problems with money fundraise, you'll only get what you put into it, so it might be a lot of work, ask family members to help if they want. (I'm disabled and still am getting out there and doing it despite my illness) Yeah, I could've put the money towards our new baby due in 4 months, made renovations to my house, paid bills, etc. But when your kid is serious and interested, you make the sacrifice for them, just as if you'd do if you had to choose between their life and yours. It's them first, no matter the cost. Find a way, it's out there.

John Robert Powers International rip off

Be very aware! Our son started in august we signed a contract in june and payed the school the amount of money for 5 months. Well he only attended to 3 or 4 classes before they decided to leave with a couple of peoples money. A couple of us came in one saturday and there was nobody there we stood waiting for like 3 hours calling, leaving messages and no answer, I drove 2 hours to get to this school, so we all decided to leave hoping that someone would contact us also praying that everything was alright because no one contact us stating that they were'nt going to be there. Now monday comes and I call and still no answer and still no one called me either still today I dont know what happened, but I do what I do know is that they stole my money. So every one who goes to one of these schools please do your research very carefully, just because they have a name of a suppose to be real school in la remember thats in la not here theses other schools are just franchise, so if you go some where and you do not have a good feeling about it please go by your feelings because 99 percent of the time it's right. So please beawre for this school we are just peying for the name and the advertisement it gives based from the original john robert power school!

John Robert Powers International Total scam

If you are thinking about wasting your time by going to an "audition" at JRP in Baltimore, beware you will not only waste your time but more importantly your money and your child's hopes and dreams. I took my daughter to one of these auditions on [protected] and at first I was all excited, the presentation was very uplifting and positive and I was ready to sell my soul so thatmy daughter could attend this wonderful program. Thank god i did my research and looking online at other reviews. hindsight is always 20/20 and boy am I glad I looked back. This company only wants your money nothing else. When we told the person we could not afford the 3, 000.00 for the program he became rude and said that our daughter did not make the cut anyway. PLease please stay away from this company!

WOW ANOTHER STUPID PERSON! FIRST OF ALL, BEFORE YOU WENT INTO THE INTERVIEW, YOU SHOULD HAVE DONE YOUR RESEARCH. YOU ALSO SHOULD HAVE KNOWN THAT JOHN ROBERT POWERS IS A SCHOOL. WHAT YOU ARE NOT TELLING THE PEOPLE READING YOUR POST IS THAT THERE ARE PAYMENT PLANS IF YOU CAN NOT PAY THAT AMOUNT. DO NOT BE PISSED THAT EITHER YOU DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH MONEY TO PAY OR THAT YOU DID NOT GET ACCEPTED. ALSO THE $3000 THAT YOU ARE TELLING PEOPLE IS A SPECIFIC PLAN THAT WAS GIVEN TO YOU, THERE ARE CHEAPER PLANS AND YOU KNOW IT. STOP [censor]TING PEOPLE.

John Robert Powers International Avoid like the plague

We signed a contract 18 months ago with JRP in Phoenix. We changed our minds within 24 hrs of the contract and wrote and handed in our intention to withdraw from the contract. It stated inthe contract that if we withdrew in 24hrs we would have a full refund. Despite many phome calls and a promise for refund theynever have and we are still owed $3, 250. Now they no longer take calls from us. What can we do to get our money back? They are a really awful company and I strongly advise anyone to avoid them like the plague!

John Robert Powers International Scam

I had relations with JRP in Baltimore for over a year. Their use of inspirational talks and encouragement is all a way to shield what they REALLY care about---your money.

Do they bring in agents and managers? Yes. However I NEVER saw any jobs, money, or even real opportunities come from it. The auditions are just to get you in front of people and learn the "auditioning techniques" which are basically saying a :15 second commercial and walking out.

The classes are a joke, there is no curriculum or consistency. They allow the coaches to make up the classes as they go along, and if you are driving a long distance.. be prepared for frustration as their is no communication between the directors, coaches, and students about class cancellations.

The photography gets even worse, their idea of preparing you is telling you to bring in a bunch of clothes and then they pick them out 30 minutes before your supposed to shoot. So if something doesnt work out, OH WELL! You just paid $1500 for photos you dont like.

All in all, the program can build confidence and image development for kids. If thats all your concerned about, then great. Go ahead and pay for the classes. But if you expect to get anything else out of your money, your in for a rude awakening.

All of you people that think that John Robert Powers is a scam are either dumb or STUPID. As said, in the introduction that you listen to when you are brought in for an interview (and it is AN INTERVIEW), you are told that John Robert Powers is A SCHOOL! SCHOOL IS NOT FREE! If you did not go on the internet and check it out or if you did not ask what John Robert Powers is to a friend etc... before you went, you are STUPID. ALSO NOT EVERYONE THAT IS INTERVIEWED IS ALLOWED INTO THE SCHOOL.

There are so many people that do not know what the heck they are talking about on the internet about John Robert Powers. ALSO, NOT ALL OF THE SCHOOLS ARE THE SAME, THEY ARE EACH INDIVIDUALLY OWNED AND EACH ARE RUN DIFFERENTLY! STOP CATEGORIZING EACH AND EVERY SCHOOL UNDER ONE UMBRELLA.

ALSO THE STUPID PEOPLE THAT SAY YOU CAN GET INTO THE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY WITHOUT GOING TO A SCHOOL OR CLASSES OF SOME SORT ARE FLOATING ON A FREAKING CLOUD. CLASSES, LIKE COLLEGE, PREPARES YOU FOR THE REAL WORLD. THEY GIVE YOU A BETTER SHOT AT THE ROLE THAN THE ONES WITH NO CLASSES.

IT IS A 1 IN A MILLION SHOT THAT YOU WILL ACTUALLY BE IN A MOVIE ETC... IT IS ALSO NOT EASY TO GET INTO THE INDUSTRY PERIOD AND THE PEOPLE THAT SAY SO ARE LYING! I HAVE BEEN IN THE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY FOR MORE THAN 10 YRS WITH EXTEMELY GOOD SUCCESS IN VARIOUS ASPECTS AND IT IS NOT EASY PERIOD!

SO LETS RECAP FOR THE SLOW PEOPLE, JOHN ROBERT POWERS IS A SCHOOL AND SCHOOL COSTS MONEY AND IS NOT FREE! DEPENDING ON THE LOCATION, THEY BRING SCOUTS DOWN FROM VARIOUS AGENCIES AROUND THE WORLD TO SCOUT OUT TALENT. IF YOUR DAUGHTER OR SON OR YOURSELF IS NOT PICKED IT IS BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT RIGHT FOR THAT PERSON OR COMPANY AT THE TIME! EACH COMPANY LOOKS FOR CERTAIN THINGS. TRY AGAIN NEXT TIME.

PEOPLE NEED TO LISTEN AND LEARN FOR ONCE ABOUT EVERYTHING IN THEIR LIFE AND STOP BASHING THINGS YOU ACTUALLY DO NOT KNOW ABOUT. GROW UP!

Ha Ha Ha! And they write horrible notes trying to pose as a consumer. Don't pay for photos. They are preying on you and your dreams. My son has done commercials with a simple snap shot from me and an audition. Log onto sag.org, or any other legit site to see what is norm. RJP and others are desperate to suck you dry in this economy because their victims are drying up.

My wife called a posting that didn't mention they were from RJP and when she responded, the phone was ringing off the hook within 5-mins. When my wife asked about the photo shoot, $450 is what she was quoted. By this time we are just playing with them. My wife asked for them to fax over the contract (Which was blank and had cut and pasted company names all over it! LOL! There isn't a big enough Red Flag to be raised) saying it was non-refundable and there was a $100 reschedule fee. To top it off, photo prints are not included in the package. Ahhh... "Photo Shoot" without photos?

Scam Scam Scam... They ask for fees of any sort, it is a scam! Don't give your credit card information to anyone.

I also went through JRP in Maryland and loved it. The instructors were amazing and I learned a lot. It took me 4 months but I did get an agent and have now been in 3 commercials. I have made way more money than I put in.

You said yourself they brought in agents and managers. It is unfortunate you were not chosen by any of them. Sounds to me like it was not John Robert Powers but in fact, YOU. If you were given classes and the agent opportunities how did John Robert Powers go wrong?

I loved John Robert Powers and everything it is about. I'm sorry you had a bad experience but that does not make them a bad place to go.

(Short and to the Point) Man these guys "SUCK". If I were you, I would read these reviews. There are more negative reviews then positive.

I am fighting to get money back that was taken from my Credit Card without my Authorization. One would say this is Border line THEFT Johnny !

But anywho this is specifically for the John Robert Powers of Baltimore Maryland. And last there Director. Well she has very poor professional skills. I mean I can go on for days but I wont. DONT DO IT. Its a waste of your money and more importantly, Time.

Again Look into these complaints. I believe they are more legit then the positive ones oh wait there aint that many.

TAKEN FROM YOUR CREDIT CARD WITHOUT YOUR AUTHORIZATION? YOU ARE A LYING SACK OF CRAP. YOU GAVE THEM YOUR NUMBER BECAUSE YOU OR YOUR CHILD OR LOVED ONE SIGNED UP FOR CLASSES. DON'T BE PISSED BECAUSE YOU DID NOT HAVE FUN OR SUCCEED IN THEM. YOU SIGN A CONTRACT WHEN YOU SIGNED UP (IF YOU DID NOT HAVE A LAWYER LOOK AT IT AND IF YOU DIDNT READ IT, YOU ARE EVEN STUPIDER THAN I THINK). STOP LYING AND COME TO THE REALIZATION THAT YOU ARE JUST PLAIN STUPID.

John Robert Powers International Scammed us out of Photos

John Robert Powers Scottsdale scammed my husband and I out of 2000 dollars for classes for our daughter and for photos we NEVER recieved. Everytime we called for our photos they made excuses, here is a copy of their email we still to this day DO NOT HAVE ANY PHOTOS Instructors would leave my child standing their with no instructor because they wouldnt show for work. My daughter would call me crying because they put her in with the older kids twice her age. They scammed us out of 550 for photos.
I just want to say again I am sorry. I understand you are doing what you feel is necessary. Please know I have been trying to get these photos out for a long time. When I first started I was under the impression they were done. As you know that was not the case, and we had to start from scratch around January. It has come to my attention part of the problem was also because the printer we use was in the process of moving. I don't know what the delay is now. I talked to Diana briefly before she called your cell phone and she was talking about going to someone else. I personally understand your frustration, whatever you decide I will try to help. I just feel bad because I feel like I haven't really been able to help much with this situation. Let me know if I should be expecting a cancellation letter to the office. Just send it to my attention so I can begin processing.

I agree that my daughter somewhat learned from a few of the classes as far as the rest not so impressed. They left her standing their for over an hour waiting for an instructor to show when they didnt they placed her in a class with the older preteen girls only to be picked on because she was so little. They scammed us out of the photos and out of our money that we paid and the money we paid for classes. I will continue to let everyone know that John Robert Powers Scottsdale is a scam and I will make it my mission for everyone to know Diane the Owner is a liar and so is Lyndsey. I have them on voicemail claiming they were going to refund us the money on our photos and that they have every excuse in the book as to why the photos they did have were 5 months late and printed off of a machine at their office.

Update by Jrp Scottsdale Scams

I completely disagree. Their staff isn't knowledgable they cant agree on anything. They dont call back on phone calls. They cleaimed to have a scout in town when in fact they just paid someone to come in and tell those of us who didnt have photos that we HAD to have them. They were quick and eager to take my 560 but they NEVER deliverred the Photos. They even claimed we would get a cd no cd either. Also I was their the day Gina had a conferance and showed the parents the horrible letter they gave to her (Gina was their director til they fired her) in her letter it stated she wasnt making enough sales. When she had a 'snack shack" for the kids to get something to eat they wrote in their letter it wasnt her job or the job of john robert powers to make sure the kids were fed. If you want to get scammed or have your child call you crying because their staff left them unattended and didnt have an instructor leave them their. Otherwards take your money somewhere else

I would like to say to the mom that was scammed over the photos that I know who you are. My daughter attends JRP as well and we also went through the same things with the photos. You and I actually spoke about it soon after Gina was fired. (which my I add was complete bull.) I fought through it and received them and they are unusable. And this is according to industry professionals. I have payed alot of money for her to attend and I feel that my daughter has gained from the classes. She enjoys it and is hopefully going to be known soon.

I would like to say that I completely disagree with the above statement. John Robert Powers Scottsdale has always delivered everything I ever desired for my two children, and in the best way possible. Their programs have give my child confidence, poise, a positive attitude and how to be respectful of others. I have been a client for about 2 years now and couldn't be happier. The majority of other JRP parents I'm sure will agree. However it has come to my attention, as I know the staff, the usual complaints are from people that simply do not understand the industry, fail to listen to detail or simply failing to motivate their children to participate and enjoy this learning experience. As for the photo's mentioned above, I also had headshots done at JRP by a wonderful photographer Wayne and my children looked beautiful. The photos do take some time to get processed, however that was explained when we signed the contract. I just wanted to make a positive comment out there for JRP, there are a lot of satisfied clients there and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to enrich their children's future!

John Robert Powers International - it's a big scam

First they lie and tell you that all these huge celebrity's have gone there which is completely false. Then they try and scam you into auditioning for i pop which if your lucky you get picked and then you have to fork out a couple more grand to be in that which is an even bigger scam.

John Robert Powers International Rip Off

All the company wants is more money and they don't follow the contracts that are signed. I have paid over $5000 to them for my son and he has only been called to 4 auditions. But the worse part is that we were de-frauded by Jennifer (the owner) when it comes to the latest set of classes/photo's from JRP. They are one big joke and they do not deliver what you pay for.

Here is the full address of the Portland John Robert Powers, they are a rip-off do not give them any money, it is not worth it. They charged us 600.00 for a photo shoot that was to be twice as much as the regular photo shoots and we only got 2 outfit changes and head shots only. It is a joke. It is sad because they tell all these kids that they are the ones and then they don't follow through with getting them audtions.

JRP is such a big scam! While i was taking classes there i didnt seem to get anywhere with my acting + modeling career. My parents had to pay thousands and thousands of dollars. So i went to this one audtion for an agency in LA and i got a call back. And they said i had to pay like 6, 000 dollars for both me + my sister for classes and photos and what not. We weren't completely sure if we should sign the contract. So my mom told the lady that we'll back tomorrow cause we need to think about it. She kept talking and kind of didnt let us leave till we signed it. She said that if we didnt want to do it anymore we could call in later and cancel. So later that day we didnt want to waste all that money cuz i figured out it was a scam. Then we call and ask to speak to that lady and someone said she wasnt there and that we could call by the next day to cancel the contract thing. Then later they denyed the whole thing. And we were gonna sue them but they would'nt give us a refund after they said they would. They lied and mutilated us! So a few months later...i was like what ever and i started to go off and look for an agent! And i finally signed with one, i got to auditions and stuff now! Still to this day, i hate JRP's guts and we never got our money back.

John Robert Powers International Scammed

I was approached by a representative for JRP and went to an introductory class. They seemed like a legit company and so I paid $2000 for my daughter to take classes and have auditioned one a month.

About 3 weeks ago they called to inform me that they were "moving" to a new location and classes would be halted until Mid-May. I called yesterday 5/7/08 and talked to the old director. He informed me that the owner is nowhere to be found and filing bankruptcy and he owes money to his staff. My contract still has at least 6-7 months left to be fulfilled with no recourse yet.

I call the John Robert Powers corporation and they said that they apologized but I would have to sue the old owner to get my money back. I live in San Bruno and this JRP is in Redwood City. I am extremely angry and frustrated at this company. I thought that I was being cautious in checking them out first and still got shafted.

I took JRP in Corona before( maybe 7 years ago). I spent thousands of dollars ( which I do not want to remember anymore as it still hurts), and I felt like I just threw them in the trash. I really did not learn anything from JRP. The instructor who is a black american would just gather the students have them walk, every session. Would give advises and reminders to take care of skin, nails and drink a lot of water. She would also advise to get photos of models from magazines, because that is how you can build your fashion and style. WOULD YOU PAY THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS for these common sense and non sense advise? I was hoping I will be taught how to do make up, right etiquette in table manners, personality development but I could hardly remember any significant learning. I also felt she was a racist, as I have felt ignored in her classes and really focused on the younger ones and white americans. I did not join JRP to be a model, but to boost my confidence through personality development with JRP because I was insecure, timid and wanted to improve myself, however, it was a BIG disappointment! How I wish I was able to get my money back. I don't think they are fair. Once you have paid, your'e hooked! Also, if I remember it right, the instructor is selling something on the side...You would think John Robert Powers has a very credible reputation, but this experience made me believe it is all MONEY...what a disappointment! If there is still lawsuits please, please let us know.I wish to get my money back.

I am a professional in the photo industry and can attest to anyone interested in modeling that 99% of the working models in the industry never stepped foot into a modeling school. You cannot be taught to have what you must be born with: Good skin, height, confidence and an athletic build. No modeling school is going to make up for the fact that you are shorter than 5'8", have bad skin or are just average looking.

Remember, there is a REASON why models make so much money: They are exceptionally good looking. The world is full of beautiful people who will never make a penny as models because they don't have what it takes. Model types are RARE. Don't let a salesperson talk you into spending thousands for a school you don't need to appease your vanity or boost your ego.

What proof do any of you have to to show for your complaints regarding John Robert Powers?
It seems you are very ignorant about this industry and do not understand what John Robert Powers does for their clients and are making blanket statements. So have you booked a job in the industry yet on your own?

Obviously woof and pinkmommy work for JRP - they all sound alike in all the 'reviews' and comments. You can usually spot them because they keep saying something like, oh they don't choose everyone. LMAO - uh, yes they do because it's all about the $$$.

I'm not sure why the families who brought their children to an audition at JRP didn't understand that it was a school. It sounds as though a few of the franchises (I heard Baltimore come up a few times) were being run improperly and perhaps unethically, but I don't think it's fair to run a sweeping generalization about all JRP offices. Not everyone gets offered classes. I know this because my friend and I both brought our daughters together- her daughter was not chosen, nor were they offered any classes whatsoever. The school was very interested in my younger girl- Julian, with whom I spoke, said that if there are two children in a family that show promise, the school will typically only choose the one who is more marketable to AVOID the financial burden on the family. We knew it was a school; all we did was look it up on the Internet. Simple. There are success stories, but it's an extremely difficult and competitive business. Julian reminded everyone that, on average, if you are VERY good at auditioning, you'll typically book 1 out of every 50 auditions. My husband and I have been in the business for over 20 years. He's booked many commercials and has two agents in town (Orlando). We know the business. No one can "make" you a star- they can provide guidance and training to polish raw talent. That's what JRP does. And they do it well. It's an investment, like sports or skating or horseback riding, or whatever passion your child has. If you're getting into the business so that your child can become a "star", than you're already in it for the wrong reasons.

I have been to John Robert Powers. I don't know what a scam is, but it is definitely FALSE ADVERTISING! they make promises that they can not keep! I am so mad. My mom and dad work so hard everyday trying to pay bills day to day but they got fooled (and me too!) into paying $10, 000 for me to become a famous model and be known all over the world. I was told I needed only two years and everyone will know me. TOTAL CRAP! it is WAY TOO MUCH money to pay especially UPFRONT. when you are not even getting paid back.

I GOT FOOLED :((((((((

I need a lawyer.
