I entered into an agreement with Mr. Joe Rivera, President of the company [protected]@Site to do a total gut renovation on my home in Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, N.Y. He is a short stocky Hispanic man with a short hair cut. He drives a Hummer and works with his father who drives a white van with the words [protected]@Site painted on the sides of the van.
While I was interviewing Mr. Rivera for the job he was very pleasant, on time, and answered my calls and returned my calls within a reasonable amount of time.
All of that changed once I decided to hire Mr. Rivera and handed him a check for the down payment. Work on my home began and remained at a glacial pace, there were times when days went by and not one stitch of work had been done. Mr. Rivera avoided answering my calls and I would not hear from him for up to three or four days at a time. Worse yet, when I went to my home to check the progress of the work I found workers who I could not communicate with because they were only able to communicate in Spanish. . I was able through an interpreter to communicate with his electrician; he informed me that he did not possess a license to perform electrical work. [protected]@site is not licensed with the NYC department Buildings, go to their website and check for yourself. Mr. Rivera also “repaired” the cornice and within the first rains of spring I had to repair it again because rain water was coming into my home and damaging the walls.
Mr. Rivera installed a new roof on my home and within a month of the first warm days of summer I had 25 to 30 bubbles on the roof that had to be repaired by another roofer.
While Mr. Rivera was working on my home there were no more than two or three workers on the site at one time. There were times when the workers showed up intoxicated and there were actual fist fights amongst themselves. The work site was left unclean, with food from lunch left on the floor. This of course attracted rats, mice, and cockroaches, which as you can guess made me extremely unpopular with my neighbors.
I did some investigating on the internet and found out that Mr. Rivera ran his company out of a laundromat by the name of Splishy, Splashy, laundromat, which is located at 183 Smith Street, in Cobble Hill Brooklyn11201. If you put Splishy Splashy laundromat into a search engine (Google.com) you will see that Mr. Rivera had legal problems at that establishment as well. He was evicted from 185 Smith St.and moved his construction/laundromat business to 183 Smith St. I went to 183 Smith Street, in Cobble Hill Brooklyn11201 unannounced, and Mr. Rivera arrived there within an hour and a half.
I confronted Mr. Rivera and told him that I was very unhappy with his work ethic, attitude, workers and the shoddy work; he said to me that “you are beginning to become a pain in the ### and I think that I am going to drop you as a client”.
Mr. Rivera immediately stopped working on my home and I contacted an attorney. What Mr. Rivera did to me was despicable and if you are planning to hire him please do your homework.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Wow! I'm so glad this Joe Rivera parasite is finally on the Internet. If he has approached anybody out there about repairing their credit, be warned! He did that to his nephews' former wife and stole her identity to buy a Mercedes Benz brand new SUV. He's such a fraud that nothing is sacred to him. People out there, if you see a white van with Men@Site Contractors lettering, BEWARE! The devil is coming to get you!
I agree with person who says this vulture doesn't go into neighborhoods where people have common sense. So doing work in Bath Beach and Bay Ridge is a figment of his imagination, to pretend he's this dignified, honest man. Please, for all who want to protect your interests, stay away from this vulture. As other writers have stated, he's a BIG LIAR AND A FRAUD. I even recently found out that the police is investigating him for being involved with a black drug dealer--that's how desperate for money he is. I'm oilman@html.com
This vulture doing business in Bath Beach and Bay Ridge? Am laughing out loud! He doesn't venture into neighborhoods where he knows people might have come sense, he goes to poor neighborhoods where people are ignorant and don't know any better. As the other writer says (Peter Falcone) these testimonials are made up by somebody he knows because he's not capable of writing good english. Believe us, he's really a crook and a fraud; why he's still defrauding people is beyond understanding. Where are the authorities when you need them to take action?
The laudatory comments about Joe Rivera are probably made up by himself or somebody submitted them for him. There's now way so many people can agree that this is an honest person. HE'S A FRAUD, A CROOK, A LIAR--SOMEBODY THAT WOULD TAKE ADVANTAGE OF HIS OWN MOTHER TO GET WHAT HE WANTS. HE'S BEEN INVESTIGATED BY THE NYC BUILDINGS DEPARTMENT, BY THE NYC POLICE DEPT, BY THE NYC DEPT OF INVESTIGATIONS. HE KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT CONSTRUCTION' HE'S A FORMER FACTORY WORKER THAT SAW AN OPPORTUNITY TO BILK PEOPLE OUT OF THEIR MONEY AND TOOK IT. DON'T HIRE HIM BECAUSE IF YOU DO IT'LL BE AT YOUR OWN PERIL.

Hello...I have contacted Mr. Rivera multiple times in the past to do work on my home and have received nothing but quality performance from him and his employees. I would not think twice before recommending him. He is simply marvelous.
I disagree with the complaint on Mr. Rivera. My name is Stacey Nicholson and I live in Bath Beach, Brooklyn. I hired Mr. Rivera to do a total renovation of my house. My house was completed beautifully and within a justly time limit. I was so pleased with his work, that I also had him do work on my house in Long Island. He allowed me to make small installments even after the the work was completed. I was very apreciative of his genorosity and genuine character. I would recommend him to anyone who wants a great job done.

Hello.. My name is Alex Jones, and i COMPLETELY disagree with the complaint above. I decided to contract Mr.Rivera about a year ago to do a massive renovation in my entire home in Bay Ridge in Brooklyn, he did from start to finish and i was very pleased with the way he worked and very happy due to how amazing my home looked after the renovation. I honestly think that who ever wrote this complaint about Mr.Rivera has something personal against him. I have recommended Mr.Rivera to many people and not one person has complained about him.
Hello, I disagree with the complaint on Mr. Rivera. Had work done in my home and I can not thank him for the excellent work. He was recommended by a mutual friend and I was grateful for the work done in my home. Mr. Rivera renovated a kitchen and bathroom in my home. We had made an agreement and he kept to his. Job started on time and was completed on time. Also he gave me the opportunity to pay installments, which made it so much easier for me. I would recommend him to anyone who needs good work done. I also agree with the other comments, must be his competition.
This man is one of the biggest CROOKS in NYC. He went around claiming he was a NYCPD detective, can you believe that? He bilks mostly poor ignorant people of their money; he;s no contractor, was never trained as one and doesn;t know what he's doing. But people don't bother to check who he is and "contract" with him blindly. The sad part is that he's still going around the city bilking people and getting away with it. Where did justice go and why aren't his "businesses" seized, like the van and the other cars? Put him in jail where he belongs!
Hi... I disagree with the compalint above...My name is Tina Astudillo ,and Mr. Rivera was recomended to me from a friend that hire Mr. rivera in the past and she said only good things about him. I hire Mr. Rivera to do an entire renovation in my home located in Dyker Hights , and I had give him the money to start the job. ...Mr. Rivera start the job on time and finished the job on the date he promise me, I was so happy to see my home so beautiful after the job was done !... i don't understand why the person above will state that Mr. Rivera will do that.
What I think is that the person who wrote all this bad things about Mr. Rivera is his competition.
Joe Rivera has engaged in multiple fraudulent acts. The police and many other court agencies are investigating him and his business. If you have anything to say, please tell your story. We may have a collective suit against him.
