This Jensen Legal Group is still in business - stealing from people that need help. Thank god, I reviewed the account documents - unfortunately after they withdrew the first $441 payment from my checking account, but have cancelled with them and closed my bank account. Now they are telling my husband that the money is non-refundable after he was told on the phone that at any time this could be cancelled and we could withdraw our money. Do not fall for mail, email or any other organization that charges fees, all though Jensen Legal services does not disclose the fees upfront, not until after they have your information and have withdrew the $.

Jensen Legal Group Debt Settlement

DO NOT HAVE CREDIT ANSWERS HANDLE YOUR DEBT SETTLEMENT THROUGH JENSEN LEGAL GROUP! THEY HAVE YOU KEEP MAKING MONTHLY DEPOSITS TOWARDS SETTLEMENT, AND THE LEGAL GROUP TAKES THE MONEY OUT FOR THIER OWN FEES, AND YOU NEVER BUILD UP ANY SAVINGS IN ORDER TO SETTLE WITH THE DEBTOR. COMPLETE SCAM. I HAVE CONTACTED THE BBB. JUST BE FOREWARNED.

Jensen Legal Group They Don't Tell You About UP FRONT FEES

I called this company after hearing an ad for debt settlement on the radio. I spoke to a man who told me he was a lawyer and they were legitimate and that there were many fakes out there. He did everything by email, I even signed online. He went over the contract with me and all the fees, except that they would charge me over $1500 up front. That little surprise came a month later when I got a statement from the bank I had to set up an account with charging me over $800 in fees, out of which $778 went to Jensen Legal Group, it happened the next month as well. When I called they told me that according to my contract I could cancel anytime but they would keep my money. "Read page three" is all they told me. Their tactic is to appear very legitimate by presenting themselves as lawyers and giving you all the fees information you need so you don't have to worry about reading any contract, since they went over it with you, except for the part where they would charge you upfront. Oh, and they tell you to stop paying your creditors and avoid their phone calls until your account goes into collections. By this time you are more deep into debt and severed ties with your creditors AND they have a chunk of your money. You are hostage and poorer and worse than you've ever been. I may never get my money back, but I'm making sure the world know about these people - The Jensen Legal Group, out of Frisco Texas.

I used to work for JLG. This company, parent company Landmark Management, changes their marketing name annually or 'by state' in order to re-market to consumers with a different name (American Debt Mediators, Credit Resolution Advisors, Credit Answers, Jensen Legal Group, Worden Law Firm etc. are all the same company) because they have burned their bridges so many times with consumers. There is NOTHING this company can do for you that you can't do yourself with a little time. This (these) company requests that you to stop paying your bills, which opens you up to late fees, higher interest rates, and then litigation by creditors after a certain period of time, and will NOT represent you once you get sued. Contrary to what they tell you, they ARE NOT a law firm. There is no attorney looking out for you. 50-60% of their clients get sued by companies like Discover, Capital One, etc. It's a no-brainer that you can settle on your own with your creditors for 50-60 cents on the dollar after a certain period of delinquency, just like these people purport they can do.
You don't need to pay these people a 12% fee, plus 49.95 a month for 'maintenance costs'. They mislead consumers, especially the elderly and non-English speaking clients, that there will be no credit effects, no tax implications, even misleading foreign and elderly consumers to think that they are doing a consolidation. Then by the time consumers are fully informed during a "Welcome Call" what the real 'program' is, it's past the 10 day cancellation window and they keep your first payment. Do yourself a favor and work your situation out with your creditors. These people are rip-off artists preying upon the fears of consumers.

Jensen, took hundreds of dollars from me. They guranteed everything would workout in my favor, just keep sending us your money. As time passed three creditors sued me and the monies I had paid to Jensen went into their pocket when it could have went towards paying my creditors. My advice, work out a deal with your creditors, they will work with you. These phony services leave you broke and hanging, kicking yourself in the you know what. Never deal with these services take it from the voice's of experience.

I received an ad in the mail and thought I'd call to see what it was all about. Good news, they can get debts lowered. All I had to do was sign online contract and they would do the rest. I had one question, my payment to a creditor was due in two days, should I pay it or will they get in touch? They never answered me, so I called a lawyer I know and told him what I'd done, he groaned and said "no, no, no, no". I then called JLG and immediately cancelled, even then it two days to stop the process and get an email to confirm. When I was able to talk to them to get answers, they're process is to collect your money, not pay the debt for three or four months or till the creditor is willing to settle for less, then go on to the next one. Mean while your credit is, their words "taking the hit", I was fortunately able to get into a credit counseling service, recommended by one of my creditors, and they are getting interest lowered on the debt to get them paid off early and for less. I should have done this earlier, but am glad to do it now, always do your homework, even at 60. This group tells you to LIE, NOT MAKE PAYMENTS, AND TRUST THEM WITH YOUR MONEY. This should be the biggest red flag I've ever seen. Avoid them at all costs.

I use to work for JLG (only 4 months). The debt settlement process can be done on your own which they don't tell you. If you speak to the debt collector directly you can negotiate a settlement becuase they get paid based on the debt they collect. The sales person will say almost anything to get you to sign because he gets his commission for the first 4 months your enrolled. After that the sales person could care less. The goal is to save as much money as possible to pay the settlements one at a time; the problem is almost all of the clients aren't made clear about this. I felt sorry for almost everyone of the clients I spoke to on a daily basis. There were some people who are dumb and should have never been a credit card to begin with however.

Yes, it seems like they are just taking your money, but what do you expect? That they work for free? I've been with Jensen for 13 months and they have taken most of their fees. They are taking their fees because most people in debt, well, lets face it, they aren't the most trustworthy people out there. They have already knocked off one debt of mine. I owed 6 K+ to one lender and they got me out of it for just a little over half. Saved me 3K. Now they are in talks for another lender. Anyway you look at it, you just seem to be shoveling out money. It's not all about paying the money you owe, they also work to get your credit score back up in a respectable score. Then it's up to you to take care of it and build it back up.

I am two months into the program with Jensen Legal Group and just found out myself they are charging me the fees up front. I also am getting a terrible amount of calls from my creditors and Jensen legal group told me to just ignore them and they will subside. I am terribly worried about it. I am deep in credit card debt and even if I try to negociate with the credit card companies, it would take me forever to pay off. This way with Jensen Legal Group I would be out of debt, so they say, in 4 years. I don't know what to do, they have $600 of my money so far and the calls keep coming. HELP
