Jennair Refrigerator / Dishonest Jennair technician!
Jennair warranty very close to zero value. Purchased new Jenn-air refrigerator. Immediately seemed like it was not cold enough, even when set to coldest control settings. Brought an accurate thermocouple thermometer from work to measure temp of sealed jar of water (good thermal mass). Could not get below 39'F. Phoned Jennair for warranty service. Jennair technician set a wide time window. When he showed up, he made many dishonest excuses making every attempt to decline to service. Example, he put his thermocouple in the air stream from the freezer entering the refrigerator, showed my wife that it was below freezing, then claimed there was no problem. I admonished him, telling him that obviously the freezer air was well below freezing, as the stuff in the freezer was frozen. He argued that his test was adequate to test the refrigerator temperature and the controller set point. FALSEHOOD. Big hassles, was forced to negotiate, eventually tech said he was leaving, claimed I was not being nice (because I was stating that he should be ashamed of himself and I have a policy accepting only full integrity), I stated that I would then I would return the unit to the place of purchase. He then did agree to replace temp controller. Everything worked fine thereafter for the following 12 years, except that the meat drawer rails had to be repeatedly replaced, not made strong enough.
