We drove 5 1/2 hours to look at dresses. I couldn't remember the business name. The problem didn't begin until Judy the manger started following us around the store. I had taken 3 picture of dresses my daughters had tried on and was told to stop. While my daughters who are minor were underdressing the clerks stood there with the drape open to watch them. My daughter said they pull the drape shut and the clerk open them again. We had been waited on by 2 clerks to begin with. I was looking at a dress and Judy the manger said that's a $3000.00 dress. Judy the manger stood there the whole time after the dress incident. My daughter is having a party and has 7 girls which are all minors. I can't take all 7 girls to NJ to try on dresses. So 3 pictures I guess was to much to ask for. Yes, we are of a different race and worn jeans. That is no excuse to be profiling in a company. They don't know who I am nor what I can afford. I got very Pissed off and got loud and ask who was waiting on us there was about 6 clerks plus Judy the manger. The girl who was attending to us was young and got scared and said me. When I told my daughters to get dress and told the clerk to get my information she never appeared to the front of the store. I walked back and here the clerks were talking about what happen instead of getting the information. So I ask who was the owner and Judy the manger said Jan and just gave me a card only. I ask were is the information I wanted and Judy the manger just wrote down purple 430 & 530? That was all none of the other dresses period. The card she first gave me did not have the owner contact information. So if your company wants to profiling then you have big problems. As far as Judy your manger thinks she must own the place. I lived in MT Laurel, NJ 38 years and never once treated like that.

A simple price comparison will show you that Jan’s Boutique price gouges most of their gowns/dresses by at least $150. Buyer beware!

If I could give -10, I would. When I went to book my appointment, I provided as much detail as possible (my event, size, color, style, etc.) When we got there. I guess I wasn't important because I'm not a bride. The saleswoman was the rudest and most insensitive person I've ever dealt with in my life. When she asked what I was looking for, I told her. She looked at me and told me that I was much larger than what I was telling her. She then proceeded to tell me there isn't much of a selection in that size and figure out if I want to pay $500-$1, 000 or over $1, 000. She showed me the dresses and they were all hideous and looked like they have been there since 1990. She kept trying to force the ugliest dresses on me. I tried one on and it was awful. I could go on and on. I ended up having a panic attack and had to go outside for air. My mom told her we are done here and said we will just go to the mall. I was so upset and really dreading going to the mall. We went to several stores but due to supply & demand most stores did not have anything. I found my dream dress at Macy's. It was smaller than my normal size, fit me like a glove, and made me feel beautiful. We went to check out and it was on sale. I ended up with a beautiful gown and shoes for less than $100. Stay away from that place if you aren't size 0 and have an unlimited budget. Will NEVER recommend Jan's to anyone.

I am posting this on this comment section because a friend of a friend wanted to shop here but was treated bad! I once wanted to shop here but I no longer want to! I will tell all of my Friends and their Friends will tell their Friends do not shop here ! This is what I am reposting off her Facebook Page : We just had a dress fitting scheduled at Jan’s boutique in Cherry Hill New Jersey. In this day and age you wouldn’t think that racism was as alive as it is today. My daughter made an appointment at the store, confirmed it prior to our arrival, when we walked in a woman named Marie was at the front counter. After my daughter told her we had an appointment, didn’t acknowledge it and said she did not recognize the name as having an appointment. She then flagged us. Marie was adamant in telling us there was no one to help us, and in a condescending tone said, "You can go in the back and look at our inventory." "What was it that you said you needed a dress for?" My niece and I sat on the beautiful decorated bench in the dressing area and the same sales woman, Marie, told us to get up. As quickly as my daughter and one of our guests began looking at the dress inventory, Marie said, "We don't have a dress to fit you." This is a place no Bride-to-Be should visit. My daughter walked out the store hurt and upset. I’m warning everyone happy about dress shopping to stay away from this place... and we conducted ourselves with class.

Yes, we were profiled to but, the sad part was i am the same skin color as the manager. They treat everyone like that. I surely agree I was never in my life treated like that and it will never happen again. I have turned them in though. The woman mad a huge scene because, I didn't want to look at dresses if my fiance wasn't aloud in their. It's rediculous!

On Thursday 6/14/2012, I sent an email to Jan's Boutique to see if they had a certain gown in stock. I received confirmation that they did indeed have the dress in the color and style that I wanted. On Saturday afternoon, In called the store to verify the presence of the dress. I believe that the man who responded to my call was Paul. I told him that I was making a 4hour trip (both ways) on Monday morning and wanted to be sure. He said, "if the computer says it's there it's there."
