I published my novel with Iuniverse back in 2000. My book The Souls of Dumah is now available to order in Barnes & Nobel. And online at Amazon. It is available in hardcover paperback and as an Ebook. When I search my book online I find it for sale all over the world but in 12 years Iuniverse has paid me less than $20.
Friends and family have bought over 50 copies over the years. And I have signed another 200. Yet my account reflects no sales.
This publisher makes their money off of their authors, the money they make selling our books - they keep. Do not trust them and do not publish with them,
They also call me all the time and try to sell me expensive marketing packages. One guy kept calling and said my book would make a great movie and for $900 he could promote it to Hollywood. A few questions and it was obvious that he had not read one word of my novel.

I am planning to publish my book from iuniverse please guide me, will this help in selling the book or not. Is this an authentic company?I have been offered a discount for Online Premier Pro but I am not very sure how this will help me to promote my book in the International market. Can some one reply and help if this is a good package or I should select anotherone. I am also now scared to read that they are not very honest with their Royalties. please advice.

Please DO NOT publish with Iuniverse They Are cheats. The only money you will get from your book will be from you selling your book. When they sell your book they keep the money! RIP-OFF COMPANY!

I had a similar experience and so have dozens of others I have been talking with recently and the truth is that iUniverse doesn't report their sales to the author accurately. I and others are planning a class action suit and if you are interested in joining please email me at nutt.justin@gmail.com. Also here is a interview I gave that you might like to read http://blog.emilysuess.com/2012/07/02/iuniverse-complaints-interview-with-justin-nutt/

It is unfortunate that you have been frustrated with the amount of royalties you have earned, but I want to explain how the process works for paying royalties and reaffirm we take the matter of royalties very seriously. When a book is sold by a retailer, a pub comp report is generated. This is an official notice sent to iUniverse explaining what book was sold and at what price. We use that information to calculate the royalty to be paid to an author as described in the author agreement and promptly process that payment according to the terms of our author agreement. If for some reason, there may be a dispute, we can also request a books printed report, which shows how many books have been printed of a particular title and shipped to a retailer. In the case of your book, we have done a thorough investigation and have confirmed we have paid every royalty on books listed on the pub comp reports received from retailers and the books printed reported aligns with those numbers. If you have any paperwork such as invoices or receipts that show otherwise, please provide them so we can clear up any discrepancy you believe exists. We want to make sure you are paid every royalty dollar you have earned, but I think you can understand why we can’t pay any amount simply on word-of-mouth. Again, we are sorry for your frustration, but right now all that has been reported to us by retailers have been paid.

How is that possible? Getting less than $20? It says in their contract that the all profit goes to you, have you tried representing your case to a lawyer? Have you tried contacting IUniverse? If you're not receiving the full profit, than who is? They should have records of it somewhere.
