Irvine Company move in experience

I recently moved into the one of the Irvine Company Apartments in San Jose, CA named North Park Apartment Home (Cypress Apartment). During the move-in process, office staff called in couple times to confirm that I have everything to move-in that includes rental insurance, security deposit, prorated rent cheque, pg&e setup etc. Which I completed religiously. But when I reached to the office for move-in appointment after collecting everything from me, they told me that mailbox key is not available and it would take around 4 months to get the new key. I don't understand why move-in checklist is only for the customer and not the management itself. They should not rent out the apartment, if they don't have everything ready for move-in. This is really frustrating to move-in to the new home and not receive your mail. Highly disappointed with the way issue is being handled even after the move-in.

I moved in on 10/14/2018

Irvine Company made mistake of our lease term

Here is a thing about bad efficiency and attitude of Rancho San Joaquin leasing office. In August, a staff from Rancho San Joaquin's office called Alexus Jones called us to tell: our original leasing apartment cannot be fixed on time and we can be adjusted to a new apartment has same floor plan better price, if we agree, we need to reply on time. we replied to the email immediately, but the leasing office had no response that day. one day later, we worried about the adjustment and found nothing changes in our leasing. So we sent email to Alexus, but that day it seemed she was not in the office. After a day later, we sent her email again and she replied to me, she helped me to change the leasing at the same price but she changed our lease term from 11 months to 13 months. we went to the leasing office to argue with her and she promised us to fix that. But the result is she told us the manager will help us, but in the end, no one helped us. And during that time, we went to the leasing office several times to figure out, every time the staff said manager will help us. In the end, we have no method only signed a new lease in Park West. During that time, we were trying many times to solve this problem, and Alexus never sent us a quote but she asked us to provide it to them, we provided them the quote from the official website and all the emails to prove we replied them on time. But their attitude and efficiency made us very upset. If you need, I can provide all the emails to prove the whole process.

Irvine Company construction, health risks and fraud

I am a former in-house paralegal of the Irvine Company. I've been fighting them since 2016. We all know how hard it is to be heard through media and news channels where they are involved. WE MUST warn residents and current residents about defective construction, mold, risk of structural failure in an earthquake (or over an unknown length of time).

Irvine Company no response on my emergency maintenance call at deerfield

My name is Ping Nip. I live at Deerfield apartment 46C .

On August 21, I got locked out the door, and I have to rush to work afternoon, and I tried to call maintenance line for emergency for lock out service for 6 times attempt. No one ever called me back or next day, and I was in rush to go home to change my uniform and to get car so I could go to work at hospital that require strictly on time manner.

To be fair on my side, I am demanding the Deerfield company to be responsible for the cost of the window or at least partially compensate some cost of the window due to the fact that no one response to emergency maintenance or even the next day no one response me. I have expressed this to the manager onsite, but i feel my voice is not being heard.

This is not acceptable service to ignore tenant's call for any kind of service regardless emergency or not. This is not first time and everytime I basically had to run to the office to express few times for maintenance. Therefore I want to express my concern and I am hoping someone will address this and reply me with an answer why no one ever return my emergency maintenance call on that day or next day.

Irvine Company apartments

I have lived here for 8 years. Last night I was on a conference call when I got home, so instead of driving into the parking garage where I would lose the call, I parked in visitor and ran upstairs. The conference call lasted another 2 hours and I feel asleep. This morning my car was gone. They towed it. Didn't call or give me a warning. Now I have to almost $300 to get it out. This is how they treat their loyal residents?! No call? No warning?

Irvine Company ignorance of a gas leak issue

Hi
We are Fatema Hasan and Ayad Kadhim, residing in 134 Rockview, Turtle Rock Apartments. We are writing this complaint email to raise the issue that we have with what we believe is an ignorance of a very dangerous situation in regard to a gas leak from the oven in our kitchen. our Stove has many issues a long time ago (months) and every time we call the office they used to send the maintenance guy to fix, at the end (in June 28th, 2018) they decided that we need a new Stove because it's dangerous to use. However, we were waiting for the new stove and we didn't get it (just today we knew that it will be delivered in 23rd!). Today we smell a gas and we called the office (at 2:10 PM) and they said they will send someone, but no one showed up (the maintenance guy showed up at 5:30 PM and told us that he got the wrong apartment #!), as we were waiting and keep smelling the gas, so we decided to call the SoCal Gas company and they advised us to stay away from the stove and don't use it and they sent someone right away. SoCal Gas guy showed up and found a leak in the stove itself and wrote his notes and asked us to take it to the office because of it a problem with the stove itself (that what we told the office many times before). we took the note to the office, but we didn't find the manager to talk to. later on, the maintenance guy came. However, we are very concern about what happened and we believe that the office didn't take an immediate action to protect our family from a very serious issue. The gas leak is a very dangerous urgent situation, but unfortunately, the office didn't take the immediate action to protect us. we were in a risk of fire and we just got lucky that didn't happen and we think that this is a very serious issue that you need to take an immediate action to fix it in term of the management of the apartments and our right.

Irvine Company corrupt landlord, illegal billing schemes, fraud, slumlord

Irvine Co. had the nerve to contact my lawyer and agree to let me out of my lease if I remove the Yelp review and photos. That's not how it works. Irvine Co. and management has and is continuously breaking the law. It's not like someone promises to stop running over pedestrians and obey the law as long as people stop recording and reporting them. It doesn't work that way! Justice needs to be delivered for one's illegal behavior.

Irvine Company illegally defamed my character telling my lawyer I "staged" the photos at The Village (where I reside). How stupid could one be! Stating such is only getting Irvine Company and it's management in deeper legal trouble and more serious media exposure.

Irvine Company & The Village are continuously in violation of multiple Civil Codes and Ordinances for many years and need to own-up to it, cease engaging in unfair business practices, stop all shoddy business tactics and immediately correct their actions. I'm fine paying the remaining months of my lease while renting elsewhere just to keep my legitimate review and photos on Yelp and continue exposing them to the media! People need to be informed what to expect should they choose to do business with Irvine Company. Again, it's not a financial issue with me; it's principal.

Emails with time stamped photos attached between myself and management and Corporate Customer Care are saved, dating back to May 2014, so if these were "staged", why didn't Irvine Co. speak up and/or do anything about it?

Either way, Irvine Co. and management has a legal obligation to make certain the property/dwelling is kept in every part clean, sanitary and free from all accumulation of debris, filth, rubbish, garbage, rodent and vermin pursuant to Civil Code Section 1941.1(a)(6). What's their reason for allowing trash to sit outside apartments for more than a day and even longer than a week?

Furthermore, pursuant to Civil Code Section 1942.4, Irvine Company is prohibited from collecting rent for a premises when it's in violation of Civil Code Section 1941.1. In return, tenants are entitled to reimbursement for their rent they've paid while the premises have been uninhabitable.

Irvine Company and management are constantly maintaining a nuisance at The Village. They are continuously failing to enforce paragraph 13 of the lease by allowing the illegal AirBnb business to be conducted at the property. They have been informed of this matter numerous times and negligently give it the blind eye and deaf ear. The only thing Irvine Company did was send a sugarcoated generic letter to all tenants at The Village dated June 13, 2016, informing them how it's a violation of the lease to sublease their unit (aka running an AirBnb business).

Paragraph 13 of the lease specifically states (photo also included with their Yelp profile...approximately page 2 of the photos) it is a violation of the lease for any tenant to "advertise the Premises on AirBnb, Couchsurfing, Craigslist, or any other advertisement or listing service". Furthermore, aside from paragraph 13 of said lease, it is a violation of the Irvine Municipal Code to operate an establishment allowing transient occupancy without obtaining a transient occupancy registration certificate from the City's Manager of Fiscal Services, and without paying the corresponding transient occupancy tax.

Allowing such illegal activity to take place puts all innocent tenants lives at risk. Anyone from anywhere could illegally rent a unit for days, weeks or even months at a time via AirBnb with no credit or criminal background check required. That means murderers, rapists, thieves, drug dealers, etc could rent any AirBnb unit only requiring an AirBnb account and credit card. Hello! Even murderers and rapists have credit cards!

With the way Irvine Company is illegally and falsely accusing the trash to be "staged" on the properties, they must be insisting it's been staged at The Park and all those other properties people complain about all the time. That's an awful lot of years of "staging" trash. Again, Irvine Company is just digging a deeper hole for themselves. My Google photos posted 2 weeks ago for Irvine Company and The village already have approximately 52, 000 views; that's 2 weeks only.

What about the 31 serious crimes committed at The Village within the first six months of 2016? Surely those were not staged, but you know Irvine Company is not very smart! I have a crime report provided by Irvine Police Department last June for all crimes (theft related) at The Village for the first six months of 2016. It's in the photos section of Irvine Company's Yelp profile.

Irvine Company contributory negligence of irvine co. & management. unsanitary issues, drastic rent increases, illegal airbnb business.

Definitely the worst company to deal with. Their management consists of the most clueless people in the world. The inside of of the property (at least at The Village and The Park) is so filthy and disgusting. They keep the outside that potential tenants see nice and clean, but the inside is unbearable.

Irvine Company continuously increases rent. When your lease expires, you're given the option to resign another one year for an additional $150 - $200/month, or go monthly for an additional $560 - $600 per month. I am not kidding. I have attached one of my renewal letters verifying it. It is standard business with Irvine Company.

Irvine Co. has been allowing tenants to sublease their units as illegal AirBnb units, putting all paying tenants safety and lives at risk. There are no requirements for an AirBnb customer to rent the units for days, weeks or months from the tenant. Anyone could rent through AirBnb; criminals, drug dealers, prostitutes, etc. All they need is a credit card. Irvine Company has been alerted of this matter many times and does nothing about it. Paragraph 13 of the lease specifically states one cannot sublease their unit or use it as an AirBnb, Couchsurfing, etc. Yet, when reporting this to Irvine Co., they do nothing about it.

To prove how ignorant management is at this property, we alerted them of the illegal AirBnb ad for a specific unit that showed photos verifying the exact unit. Management had the nerve to tell us the unit was in compliance with their lease! How stupid could one be! Management alone is a serious liability. They make such bad decisions, they put innocent bystander lives at risk. Management even had the nerve to come to my unit and ask me to help them locate all the illegal AirBnb ads! Management at The Village is so ignorant, they had the nerve to tell a tenant that quiet enjoyment does not apply to Irvine. That's a national law! Just goes to show how ignorant Irvine Co. and its staff are!

The security people at the properties are not security. Irvine Co. has told us many times that they are "courtesy patrol". Even Irvine Police Dept told us that the "security" at these properties is a total joke. One of the security thugs was hanging out in the garage like they always do, allowing a car to illegally sit in the driveway, blocking all lanes, preventing people from entering and leaving the garage while they talk to each other. The thug "security" dude even had the nerve to argue with me. I had to contact Irvine Police Dept regarding their behavior. Furthermore, their manager James, had the nerve to call me at 12:30 AM, and try to tell me how important he is.

The maintenance/janitorial is a joke. All one has to do is look at the inside of the property. Chunks of wall missing, stains, trash and cigarettes all over the walls and sidewalks, yards with dead plants, etc. I even have video of a janitor emptying a bucket of mop water on the plants. Another reason the plants are always dying. You will always see bags of garbage left outside units for days and even weeks; clearly proves management fails to do their job monitoring the property. If they did, the bags of garbage would not be there days or weeks later. The only areas they keep clean are the paths to the model units and main area by the pool; all for show. Walk around the actual areas and you'll see nothing but filth. It is the filthiest property I've ever lived at in my lifetime.

The maintenance are unbelievably ignorant. One dude had the nerve to argue with me and attempt to talk over me. He might get away with it with others, but there's no way in hell I would allow that. I've had disgusting smells of food coming through my AC vents from day one and it became unbearable. Maintenance had the nerve to argue it with me, insisting it could be coming from my bathroom sink, dishwasher, behind the refrigerator, etc! All they had to do is stand on a ladder in front of any vent with the air blowing! It was disgusting food smells. Even the manager recognized the disgusting smells from the vent.

One of my lawyers had to deal with Irvine Co. for their illegal billing schemes. Irvine Company was gouging me for water. My monthly bill went from $35 per month to $140 per month overnight and worst yet, there were many months, I did not spend a single day in the unit, yet my water bill was $135. My lawyers and I feel this was retaliatory towards me for posting a bad, but honest Yelp review about a very rude and ignorant Irvine Co. employee.

There has been an awful lot of illegal trafficking at both The Park and The Village. A lot of Chinese pregnant people have been illegally renting an apartment here, having babies in attempt to become citizens. This has been on the news many times and the Feds have been involved. Irvine Company has been warned of this matter numerous times and still negligently refuses to do anything about it.

The other day, there were approximately 38 pregnant Chinese women walking around the property.

This property has become a very filthy and dangerous place to live. With all of the illegal AirBnb business and illegal Chinese pregnant people staying in the units, having babies, this is not a good to live.

They discriminate on race and types of people, for example, If you have a child they will give you trashed unit which is closed to Main Street or a unit is dark and wet with a bed bug.
If you complain they will say sorry we have nothing available, even though you can see a vacant unit available.
Unfortunately, when you take them to court judge will listen and you lose the case.

Irvine Company they didn't provide papers about rent and impossible to get deposit back from them

We rented a flat through the company www.irvinecompanyapartments.com. We paid the deposit and waited for the papers, but these scammers wanted only money from us. After they received the papers, they started to avoid us and of course we wasted our money. The company turned to be real scam and they are dishonest, so better avoid these jerks and post comments about them.

Irvine Company ripped off after move out

I was staying in an apartment called " the village" in irvine CA and when i moved out i was handed a bill of almost thousand dollars because theey said that the carpet needed to be replaced. The carpet was in a very good condition when i had moved out and in no circumstance did it need to be replaced. When i asked them to show me pictures which showed the need to replace the entire carpet they were very very vague about it and were unble to produce any and threatened to spoil my credit if i did not pay. I was very disappointed with the whole process and just paid the money to avoid my credit spoiling. It is as if though we are at the mercy of the irvine companies.I hated paying that money especially when i had maintained the carpet in such an immaculate condition.

Irvine Company sued its general contractors multiple times and did not make repairs prescribed by its own experts. They delay repairs until after a shrouded arbitration to inflate the numbers for a profit; meanwhile, mold causes illness and dry rot, weakened structures risk failure (especially if there is an earthquake).
Irvine hides the defects with layers upon layers of paint. It's beauty is a facade. Villa Siena and Serrano are the worst to my knowledge. Irvine has a history of silencing people like me to protect their brand. They have so much money that governing agencies dare not touch them. LIVES are at risk. See my LinkedIN. I also have a lawsuit against them for retaliation.
My complaint has all this information buried in the middle for some reason. Find the case and my linkedIN where I've been trying to get their attention for 11 months. [continued below

No one can fight against Irvine Company, because they are too big, and too rich, they bought all judges in Orange County, also the whole California. You can not show me even one lawsuit against Irvine Company that won a case in court of law, one nurse put all her saving in court of law to fight against Irvine Company and she was hoping to win the case ! You must get ride of corruption in order to have a law suite against Irvine Company..

First of all I think its great that your bringing to the attention of all local citizens this obvious wrong doing. I also think that the city of Irvine is a great city to raise a family but at what cost ? If your unhappy with the attorney that you have may I suggest this website. hpps://ocapps.occourts.org go to the online civil cases type in the box business search the city of Irvine, you will see a plethora of cases listed. Choose a case then go to the top section of the page and click on the tab participants.
It will show you each attorney or law firm that participated in the cases. The trick is go over the case summary to make sure your looking at simmular cases. In my opinion there is a double standard in this city. Your getting hassled for a parking issue yet one of my neighbor runs a auto repair business out of his garage without a business license. What's funny about this is the police, neighbors, even one of the neighbors who works for the fire department knows ! In my opinion Irvine needs to focus on keeping good people like yourself if what you say is correct. Speaking about interesting facts is Pyongyang the sister city to Irvine ? Irvine has the Great park North Korea had the Great leader, Irvine has a quite a few empty apartment buildings, Pyongyang has quite a few empty building Irvine has a mass media campaign on How wonderful and safe Irvine is including a 24/7 am radio commercial on am 1640 about an FBI report pitching the greatness of Irvine. In North Korea they brainwash citizens from birth on the greatness of their social progress and so on. But they key difference is we in Irvine are not forced to listen to anything that we don't want to and we can turn it off !

I had the same problem! They ripped me off over the toilet and bathroom drainage. The fact was that they sucked at the moment we moved in. Nobody came to repair even upon several request. Really horrible experiences living there. Compared to living in Canyon Villiage in the valley, it is really horrible. I wouldn't move out CV if not for my job change, the Manager Rita there is super duper sweet. She took care of everything in the building, also helps out with your personal matters. I wish I could find a similar place in Irvine which has a great building manager like Rita!

Irvine Company scam

This might seem as an ordinary story to others, but it definitely represents much more to us, it is injustice committed by the wealthy and powerful against innocent law abiding citizens. We have lost our confidence in almost all elected officials and in most of the government departments; however, we want our voice to reach all those who are sitting somewhere in their offices, under the false pretence of representing their constituents especially those representing the state of California. We are almost certain that exposing those who are responsible for our pain and suffering would not prompt any official to confront those wealthy individuals who have harmed us, because that would jeopardize their special relationship and potential future donations, but we are committed to reveal what happen to us whether someone is concerned or not about our well being. This is about retaliation and discrimination; retaliation by a big name CEO who employs his network of agents and attorneys to harass and intimidate those who are much less wealthy than he is, those who dare confront him in any way, such as practicing their right as granted by the Law; and why wouldn’t he? When he owns almost an entire county in California, it is easy, as long as he has such huge wealth he can buy anything, from attorneys, to federal government employees to elected officials. This way he can rest assured that his name would remain untarnished. Since we are certain our civil rights have been violated, we are going to put down facts, names and dates as it happened. We live in Santa Maria Apartments in Irvine, Orange County California since December 2004. It is owned by Mr. Donald Bren; CEO, real estate developer, investor, owner and chairman of the board of The Irvine Company; oh, sorry, correction, he does prefer to be called The Philanthropist Mr. Donald Bren, who has been ranked high on Business Week magazine’s list of “The 50 Most Generous Philanthropists”. We’ve been retaliated against and harassed by Mr. Bren’s agent and attorneys just for practicing our lawful rights. Imagine that Mr. Philanthropist, as he preferred to be called, has retaliated against a senior citizen mother and her daughter who are both in a bad physical condition due to a car accident, by Revoking their lease renewal offer, cancelling their current lease and transferring it to month-to-month, just to squeeze out of them about $300.00 a month in retaliatory rent increase. Immediately after the act of retaliation we contacted The Fair Housing Council of Orange County, they agreed it was a clear case of retaliation which is definitely a violation of the Fair Housing Act, and advised us to send a letter to the landlord/manager, and told us to call them back if we didn't receive any answer. We did send a letter to Ms. Christine Haneishi, our community manager who initiated the retaliation as the Landlord's representative. When we received no answer we contacted once again the Fair Housing (They have instructed us to do so), we informed them with what happened, so they promised to call us back, but they never did. On April 2, 2008 we filed a Civil lawsuit Pro Per in California Superior Court, Central Justice Center in Santa Ana, Orange County. We are not going as far as saying every employee in the court is a bigot, racist, or would stoop so low to please that Corporate tycoon and his entourage of lawyers; on the contrary, most of those who work there are efficient, hard workers who take the time to help in any way they could, there may be only a handful of those who would go against any ethics and morality just to harm others. Unfortunately, our case was assigned to a very few of those bigots, namely; a deputy Clerk and her supervisor, who for almost a year now have tried every possible method of violating the law, from hiding our complaint to the presiding judge which was mailed to his room and under his name, and returned it back to us by one of the supervisors marked CANCEL; How could anyone cancel a complaint? Then the Deputy Clerk cancelled the Entry of Default which was signed and filed by the Clerk of the Court/CEO Alan Carlson, does she have all that power and authority to cancel her superior’s decision? As a result an alternate Judge followed the deputy clerk and dismissed our case (December 8, 2008). Since we don't trust any employee in this court, we didn’t complain to the court executive officer Alan Carlson. It is truly shameful and disappointing to have a few low-ranking court employees gambling with people's lives just because they think they are superior in terms of race, also to assist in every way those who represent Mr. Bren. During that time attorney Linda Burden who represents Mr. Bren, used every low, unethical and dishonest tactics in the book to harass us, from defending the landlord’s agent act of retaliation, to making several false accusations and threats of eviction and suffering of consequences. She kept coming up with fresh accusations and warnings, at one point she didn’t realize the hole she just dug for herself regarding a certified letter. We don’t think Ms. Burden had lost her ability to read a simple address on an envelope, but we believe that it is either she tampered with this certified letter’s envelope, or an employee(s) at the Post office had collaborated with her. She couldn’t see how her little scheme was falling apart; this is why we filed a request for investigation with The United States Postal Service Consumer Advocate office in Washington D.C. Then in mid 2008we contacted once again The Fair Housing Council of Orange County, and requested their help as they are required to help us by the law; either by conducting an investigation, mediating or by representing us in court. After inquiring about our ethnicity and promised to have someone contact us, we never heard from them again; could it be because they are not willing to assist people from different ethnic groups? If that so, it means we have been discriminated against by those who are supposed to fight discrimination and retaliation? It wasn’t until very recently when we have learned about how The Fair Housing Council of Orange County including its President had been marred by corruption. We refused contacting our local Congressman John Campbell, the reason is simple; to live in a corrupted county like Orange County, California, one must understand that it is a huge closely-knit network of corporates, its CEOs’ survive and thrive by controlling most of the county through donating to politicians and surrounding themselves with attorneys to keep their watchful eyes on who might revolt or might represent a problem for them in the future. We don’t know Congressman Campbell, however, all facts suggest we better not contact him; the following reasons are enough: 1. Both Mr. Bren and Congressman Campbell are Republican who live in Orange County, California. 2. Congressman Campbell’s office is located in a building owned by Mr. Donald Bren. 3. Congressman Campbell’s office is a very few yards away from the law offices of our landlord’s attorneys. So, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out what his answer would be if. For the record, we are neither Republicans nor Democrats, we are Independents. Mr. Campbell’s office is located in: 610 Newport Center Drive, Suite 330 Newport Beach, CA 92660. Mr. Donald Bren’s attorneys’ office is located in: Smith & Susson, LLP 660 Newport Center Drive, Suite 100, Newport Beach, CA 92660. We did contact California Attorney General, his office didn't help, we contacted the US Commission on Civil Rights, we even contacted the Justice Department Civil Rights Division, they too didn't answer, and we also contacted Senator Feinstein; whom we wish if she didn’t answer instead of that cliché letter we received from her. We are certain that those elected officials are trying to distance themselves from this problem in order not to offend our billionaire landlord. The problem with those elected officials is; when they hear or read different names like ours their minds instantly make a simple process assuming that since we are not called Janet, John, Cynthia or Robert etc... We must be stupid ###s, who are not educated enough to understand how life goes on in the free world, who could hardly understand, some words such as: Democracy, Law, right or wrong, or anything that could come close to normal intelligent human beings. Take for instance Senator Dianne Feinstein, when we mailed her our complaint we were quite aware of the fact that her authority has limits, we do understand quite well that as a Senator Ms. Feinstein can’t intervene or give any advice in a matter within the jurisdiction of the court, this is why we didn’t ask her to comment, intervene in any way with the court’s issue or decision, all we did was informing her of what happened to us from retaliation at the hands of Billionaire and CEO Donald Bren, to the Fair Housing’s reluctance to assist us in any way, to the court corruption. Our request was: “Where to complain against those court employees?” Instead of suggesting the right place; we were lectured about the separation of powers doctrine, assigned by the Constitution to the branches of government and the integrity of our system of justice. This is about misconduct and corruption in the court, so as a Senator she should have at least gave us the benefit of the doubt and directed us to the right place to complain, after all, this has to do with unacceptable mismanagement at its best, but we believe the court employees are off limits and have a license to commit any violation against whoever they dislike as long as no body has the power to question their actions. The response would have been completely different if we were reporting about a terrorist whom the court employees hid his/her file to help set him/her free. It seems that if any issue doesn’t include any terrorism act it doesn’t catch the eyes of the officials, so the keyword is TERRORISM, tough luck for us, there is no terrorist involved in our issue, at least we two are definitely not terrorists, the terrorists are those who are terrorizing law-abiding citizens, by harassment, manipulation and dishonesty, in addition to hiding behind their protective shield of wealth which could easily buy lost, weak souls and their illusory materialistic happiness as well, in addition to some others who are given authority whether in federal or private sector, in some cases this authority is used to satisfy and appease the devil within themselves; those are the real terrorists. Since our problem doesn’t mean anything to Senator Feinstein she didn’t even care about how unjustly we’ve been treated by The Fair Housing, which in itself is a violation of the Fair Housing Act, she also didn’t care if Mr. Bren is hiding behind his team of lawyers to suffocate and pressure those who dare practice their legal rights. Why should she concern herself with such unimportant matters? Because if they were important issues, someone in her office should have called to see how could they help? If it is not possible in one way they should have tried figuring out another, but why should they, as long as in their minds, our names denote stupidity and most probably low level of education. Our all-time favorite is California Attorney General Edmund Brown, we contacted his office twice, the two responses should be the subject of a very successful highly-rated sitcom. Keep in mind we are talking about court complaint. First, they suggested contacting the Orange County Internal Auditing Department, the other suggestion wasn’t less hilarious; they advised us to contact the Department of Human Resources in San Francisco. Doesn’t that prove our point? Since our names are less common the assumption is, we are not going to differentiate between a court of law and a supermarket. Isn’t that exactly a racial stereotyping and racial discrimination at its best? What those elected officials don’t know is; we are highly educated, well-informed knowledgeable citizens who came to this country several decades ago from a country known to the world as the cradle of civilization, it laid down the foundation of the legal system for the entire world to follow, that was thousands of years before America was discovered. Unfortunately, at present this country’s name is synonymous with corruption, backwardness, negligence, and is controlled by those who believed to be powerful and influential, they shamelessly dominate every aspect of life there. How did it reach this point? The reason is very simple, bad management, favoritism, and greed. Since we wholeheartedly love The United States, it is the only place we call home; we are extremely worried that what we are witnessing rings a resonant bell to the beginning of a very bad sign. It is hard to believe that just because we practiced our lawful rights Mr. Donald Bren has unleashed his power through his attorneys, Ms. Linda Burden and Mr. Scott Smith to hurt, harm and chase away an injured senior citizen mother and her physically ill daughter, just to prove that he is rich, and has the upper hand to behave however he desires. Oh, we don’t want to offend Mr. Bren in any way by leaving out his beloved title PHILANTHROPIST, we could have been awarded that title too, if we have harmed innocent citizens by violating the law as he did with us. It doesn’t matter if we constantly live in fear of eviction, it also doesn’t matter if we have been exemplary tenants who pay the rent sometimes even before the month starts, it doesn’t matter if we had to completely stop seeking treatment to be able to pay the retaliatory rent increase; no, no all that is meaningless, what does matter is Mr. Philanthropist, CEO sees his wealth grow, so he could pay his attorneys to keep up the good work of harassing, threatening and warning those who would dare complain. We should be grateful that Mr. Bren has allowed us through his retaliation to contribute, even if it is by a very small portion, to his Philanthropic cause by using our nearly $4, 000.00 in retaliatory rent increase in a year, after all, it is for a good cause, our health comes last. What Mr. Bren, his agent and his attorneys don’t know about us is that when it comes to our rights, we are persistent, strong human beings who fear nothing but God, we know our duties quite well and strive to fulfill them, in return we expect our rights to be fully respected. By all means, we are not done exposing those who have harmed us, and caused us such mental and physical anguish; as a matter of fact we have just started, and as God is our witness, we promise that we won’t rest or settle until this issue is exposed and laid wide open before whoever is interested or not, even if it reaches the Supreme Court, whether it is Mr. Bren, The Irvine Company’s agent Ms. Christine Haneishi, Attorney Linda Burden, attorney Scott Smith, The Fair Housing of Orange County or The Central Justice Center in Santa Ana, they all have participated in violating our civil rights and contributed equally in our physical, mental, financial and emotional anguish and suffering. We do have proofs for every single violation done against us.

Our fire alarms are constantly going off from the hours between 5-8am! I have dogs and a newborn baby so I already barely sleep as it is! The alarms are obnoxious loud in our bedroom and even louder in the hallways. I have to grab my baby& dogs while in a sleepy haze and run to the street. And it is always causes by someone smoking! I want to move

Irvinr company allows the Village market to have kbob parties every Thursday and Friday night of the week giving them permission to play load music until 9pm. The music is so loud that We can hear it with closed windows and earplugs in our ears.
It is impossible to enjoy our lives there.
Also we are constantly sleep deprived because of the noise.

I had lost my contract and became temporarily unable to pay rent. My apartment managers were very understanding and seemed to do everything within their limited power to help me out however, Irvine Company was quick and ruthless in evicting, suing, garnishing my wages then over a year later sending an additional amount directly to collections without attempting to contact or notify me that an amount was due. Never again, Irvine Company. For shame.
