The International Society oif Poetry has taken my money with the promice of membership in the society, with a membership kit. I have received not a thing from them. They cashed my money order which was purched 12/4/08 on 12/15/08. They do not answer their phone. They refer you to the web site Poetry .com, but no way to contact them for information. I consider4 this a Rip Off and poor business. They should be closed down.
Its like the pyramid scams of the 80's and 90's but the new idea is to convince victims that they have won something, like "you have won a cruise" telescams, they prey on weak... I wrote a poem to just see what would happen. Probably the worst thing I have ever written...and it won? lol this is a scam someone should have shut them down a long time ago...I feel so bad for all these kids being screwed over emotionally they really don’t deserve this, something like this could crush the dreams of what could be the young generations Poe or Shakespere.
I agree to the complaint about the International Society of poets, back in 2008 i was scam out of a membership by the company i paid for it and never received anything from them, then also i won a award for my poetry paid for it and also again was told that a membership was also included in it, received the award but after that never heard anything for the company again i lost about 400$ investment the award and the membership fees so i do agree on the scam
Everything people say about this organization is true. They will never let up on contacting someone if there's any chance they'll get a dime out of them. I've tried, to no avail, to get them to stop emailing me. They won't. Let every beginning poet beware!
