I was initially contacted by them a few years ago by phone. I joined so I could get discounts on cruises. When my initial membership was about to expire, I was contacted by an "Account Representative" and convinced to upgrade to a better membership which cost $1500.00 I think my wife and I booked one trip through ICE with that.
A year later, I was contacted by another account representative. He convinced me to upgrade to an ICE Platinum Rewards. It cost $900.00 more money. It was a ten year membership and gave us bonus points. We got a stay in a two star hotel in Maui through them. We also got upgraded to 100, 000 points. The account representative told us he would be available to take care of our needs personally. He also told us the 100, 000 points were good for the ten year membership.
Whenever we wanted to use our 100, 000 points to go somewhere, the account representative was never available. We left many messages but never got a call back. When we contacted the general number to book reservations for our points they never had anywhere decent just places in the U.S. in the middle of nowhere. We never heard from our account representative again.
About a month ago I got a call from ICE. It was from a new "Account Representive". He wanted to know if I wanted to upgrade to upgrade to another plan. I asked him if he could help me use the 100, 000 points I had to go to Tahiti. He told me I no longer had the 100, 000 points because they expired. He said he could help me get back into my platinum rewards plan if I pay him an additional $1500 but I wouldn't have the points. I told him the ten years was nowhere near expiring. He told me I never paid the $29 annual renewal fee after the two year initial period. I told him I never got a bill. I was also told that my points would expire after two years and I was never contacted by ICE to tell me they were about to expire. He told me that it is not ICE's responsibility to let me know any of those things. He said he would be my personal concierge if I paid the $1500.00. I asked him why I only get contacted by ICE when they want more money. I told him I already had a "personal concierge and he never told me any of those things, he only contacted me when ICE wanted money. He told me that that was their job.
I.C.E. is a total scam. They only care about up-selling members not servicing their needs. Avoid them at all costs.

I wonder if there are any class action attorneys who would take this on because companies that take your money and don't deliver a benefit of anywhere near equal value are vulnerable to class action suits. Companies like ICE have deep pockets and huge vulnerability so a suit is very likely winnable. Also time share companies they are the worst, they have deep pockets, high maintenance fees and never give you the value commensorate with your annual fees.

Same here...but what can we do about it? can we get together and sue the company for promises never delivered nor ever have intention to fullfill? Anyone with some legal knowledge in our crowd to help us out? feel so cheated and trust violated

It could be a winnable class action case. I don't know any class action attorneys but ICE has deep pockets and doesn't deliver value equal to the money they charge so they are very vulnerable. Time shares are other companies that charge way more than the value they give, they also have deep pockets and high vulnerability. If you run into any class action attorneys run the idea past them. I'll be glad to help you convince them just post a reply to this message and I'll get an email and contact you. ICE called me again recently and asked me for $1500.00 to gain back my status. I told them to [censor] off.
