When I Googled Interlake Chemicals and their address of [protected] Biscayne Blvd. Miami, Florida USA 33181
there was a picture of a Kinkos/FEDEX. turns out that the business is in Canada and the USA location is a PO box.
Check this out yourself. Thats why you cant go and see them because there is no office.

Sure Step DISTRIBUTORS BEWARE. Sure Step is a complete SCAM. If you're looking to start a floor safety FRANCHISE. Walkway Management Group is the only legitimate FRANCHISE opportunity out there in the space, plus they provide legitimate support and control the BOT-3000E which is pioneering the floor safety industry.

I just wanted to get involved here as I see these completely false posts from anonymous WestCoastWill among others, as a personal attack on me and my business. I can't just stand by any longer, because this is complete nonsense. Clearly these people are the "so called" competition, trying desperately to defame Sure Step name. I am a Sure Step distributor and have been for almost 2 years, and I can tell you first hand what a reputable company this is to be working with. Furthermore, the product is incredible...these are reasons why I joined the team, and I couldn't be happier. I found that SS is an accredited business with the BBB, and has been for 16 years, which is very important to note and something I point out to my many customers, because not just any business can be accredited with the BBB. What I love about this business is that it's not a franchise, which means I have the freedom to run my business they way I want to. SS also provided me with 3 full days of training right in my city, and during my training I landed a few substantial jobs right away...I was so impressed with that and knew right away I made the right decision. I am currently doing a lot of work with many nursing home facilities and MLB and having a lot of fun and making a lot of money, and most importantly making floors and bathtubs safe. Tiles and bathtubs get wet, then they get slippery, and what I do is make these floors and bathtubs safe with a proven Non-Slip treatment...it's not rocket science, but you have to have the right product and be with the right company...there is no other proven product or company like it. So when I see these people posing as phony "know-it-alls, " and posting these complete lies with anonymous names, you know that this is some company trying desperately to compete by going after the most recognized Non-Slip company in the industry. Put it this way, if you have to put the name of the company, in an effort to use it as some form of promotion or advertising to hopefully gain attention, in the fake posts like WestCoastWill has, then you know exactly where the post is coming from, and who actually made these ridiculous and fake remarks...you don't have to be genius to figure that out. Look, if anyone is considering getting into this industry and wants advice from someone who has done the research, and has a couple years of experience making establishments safe from slips & falls, then give me a call. I learned that the company has over 350 distributors world-wide, and I am proud to be one of them. This is so far from a scam, and its an insult to me and my thriving business for people to make these anonymous and libelous comments. So if you would like the truth, and not this rubbish, call me, as I am an actual distributor with SS. If you want to base a business decision on anonymous posts, then that's entirely up to you, but this is the oldest trick in the book! I am not anonymous. If you would like to talk to me, an actual distributor, then call me: Mike @ [protected], I will be more than happy to tell you the Truth.

To be honest, you're coming off defensive and still not providing a positive reason to join Sure Step. I've spoken with dozens of past Sure Step distributors who were fed lie after lie about support and sales help. Why would I join a distributorship that does not even provide its customers with measurable way to verify and protect themselves from slip and fall accidents. It's snake oil. I'd stop lying to yourself and others and see that sure step is a scam that has ruined floors throughout the world due to poor training and has ruined peoples lives by putting them into debt and selling false promises and stealing accounts.

You get no leads and 0 support from them once they get you into the system. I would highly recommend slip doctors instead.

I just went through a 2 month process with SureStep and I walked away because they were not willing to share the risk or think outside of the box as we discussed the territory I was interested in. Furthermore, when I really started digging into the Daltile accounts in my area that they told me would lead to leads and revenue, and the local YMCA's and a couple of others "national accounts" that they openly discussed, I found that people didn't know what I was asking about or who SureStep was. Do your due diligence on this one! Products might be good, but it takes more than great products to be successful!

Hey Mickey! Thanks for chiming in. Did you get a bunch of leads from their corporate office? Please tell me about those leads since this is the main reason I am thinking of going with this opportunity. They tell me about Daltile, NFL, etc. I cannot verify this so it would be good to hear from you.

The original statement says that the address shows kinkos / fedex for their address. When I look it up, it shows an office building.

I’m over in AZ and have had some luck selling this product. Business owners can be very cheap, but if you sell yourself, the product sells itself. It’s just like any other business... You’ll get out what you put in. Yeah, you might strike out 9 out of 10 times, but that one sale makes up for all the NO’s you got. I’ve also had a couple leads given to me by corporate but it’s not often. You gotta remember NOTHING comes FREE and hard work is rewarded! As far as the product goes, no complaints here. It does what corporate says it’ll do. It’s just tough here with the lack of rain and again, people are cheap but that’s not going to stop me from trying.
Hope that helps everyone out

I am highly considering this business but keep reading a lot of people suing them. The latest looks like their own franchisees. Very concerned about sending money internationally. Product sounds interesting and I know I can do well with it. Just don’t want to take this step without talking with others. It’s a lot of money for me. Is this sure step Interlake chemicals company real?

In 2015, Robert Diduck responded to an on-line advertisement for a business opportunity referred to as the “Sure Step Distributorship Program”. Sure Step is a product manufactured by Interlake Chemicals International Limited (“Interlake Chemicals”). When Mr. Diduck contacted Interlake Chemicals in response to the advertisement, he was given the phone number of David Simpson who was identified as a “master distributor” of Sure Step. On November 22, 2015, Mr. Diduck entered into a distributor agreement with Narol
Professional Services Ltd., with Mr. Simpson signing the distributor agreement on behalf of the company. It later came to light that Narol Professional Services was in fact not a limited company but a partnership, with Mr. Simpson and his wife as partners (“Narol”).
[2] The distributor agreement provided for the assignment of an exclusive sales territory to Mr. Diduck. It also required Mr. Diduck to: attend training sessions as were required by Narol or Interlake Chemicals from time to time; operate his business in a professional manner and in accordance with accepted business practices; maintain business records and allow Narol access to them; aggressively market the product; and, supply and apply the product in a “good workmanship fashion in accordance with the directives issued by [Narol] to [Mr. Diduck] from time to time.” There was no evidence of any directives being issued.
[3] Upon entering into the distributor agreement, Mr. Diduck paid $24, 750 as required by the distributor agreement. He was given some training by Mr. Simpson, although the evidence of what training was offered or provided was vague.
[4] The business relationship did not go well, and on September 16, 2016, Mr. Diduck delivered what purported to be a demand letter to the president of Interlake Chemicals. In it Mr. Diduck claimed that Mr. Simpson had misrepresented the legal status of Narol and had provided limited training to him
in relation to the Sure Step product. Mr. Diduck demanded the return of the $24, 750 that he had paid to Mr. Simpson upon entering into the distributor agreement with Narol.
[5] In January 2017, Mr. Diduck filed a statement of claim against the defendants. He asserted claims for breach of the distributor agreement and for negligent misrepresentation. He claimed that the distributor agreement should be rescinded because of misrepresentation about the legal status of Narol. He claimed damages for breaches of the distributor agreement relating to inadequate training provided and violations of his exclusive sales territory. He also claimed that Mr. Simpson and Interlake Chemicals misrepresented the Sure Step Distributorship Program in their assertions about potential profit, sales and income.
[6] In May 2017, with the consent of the defendants, Mr. Diduck filed an amended statement of claim, which added a claim pursuant to The Franchises Act, C.C.S.M. c. F156 (“Act”). In his amended statement of claim, Mr. Diduck asserted that Mr. Simpson and Interlake Chemicals failed to provide him with the franchisor’s disclosure document as required under section 5 of the Act. On July 31, 2017, Mr. Diduck delivered to each of the defendants notice in writing that he was rescinding the distributor agreement pursuant to the Act.

State of Washington Alleges Manitoba Company and Salesman Violated Business Opportunity Fraud Act
Posted Wed, [protected]:27 by michael webster
State Says Company Had No Registration Nor UFOC For Sold Distributorships To Access

State Says Interlake Chemicals Lacks Registration and UFOCThe Manitoba Company, Interlake Chemicals (see logo), has been served a Notice of Intent To Issue an Order to Cease and Desist by the Department of Financial Institutions, in the State of Washington, for violations of the Business Opportunity Fraud Act of Washington.

According to the allegations, "Glen Stroud, Dan Hammond, and Interlake Chemicals International Ltd. Corp., and their agents and employees, have violated the Business Opportunity Fraud Act of Washington, RCW 19.110, and that their violations justify the entry of an order of the Securities Administrator under RCW 19.110.150 to cease and desist from such violations."

The tentative findings of fact are:

"Interlake Chemicals is the seller of a business opportunity to distribute NON-SLIP products and services. The company’s NON-SLIP products include SURE STEP, a product applied to floors and bathtubs. SURE STEP increases the coefficient of friction of treated surfaces, which prevents the surfaces from being slippery when wet.

Interlake Chemicals sells distributorships and master distributorships by territory. A purchaser of a distributorship has the right to market, sell and service the NON-SLIP products within a designated territory.

A purchaser of a master distributorship has the right to market, sell and service the NON-SLIP products within a designated territory, and also has the right to establish local distributors in the designated territory which it will manage.

Purchasers of the opportunities receive an inventory of the SURE STEP product, an application demonstration kit, application equipment, promotional materials, distributor training manual, distributor training video, on-site training, and home office support.

Purchasers of the opportunities are expected to establish their own business in the designated territory to market, sell and service the NON-SLIP products.

According to the Distributor Agreement, the purchaser may not use Interlake Chemicals as their business name. According to the Distributor Agreement, purchasers of the opportunities must purchase a minimum of $2, 400 in NON-SLIP products from Interlake Chemicals annually, in order to renew the agreement. Failure to do so results in the expiration of the agreement.

Interlake Chemicals represented to purchasers in a brochure that “revenue from your initial inventory will more than pay for your entire SURE STEP investment three times over.” Interlake Chemicals further represented to purchasers in a brochure that “the market potential is unlimited, and the profits are enormous.”

Interlake Chemicals offered and/or sold its opportunity to Washington residents via advertisements on the internet. Additionally, Interlake Chemicals offered and/or sold its opportunity through a website it maintains at www.interlake-chemicals.com."

I have taken the time to reproduce these tentative findings of fact, and bolded the requirement that the distributors not use the name "Interlake Chemicals" in their own business name.

Undoubtedly, someone erroneously thought that a) if Interlake sold distributorships, and b) required the distributors not to use the name "Interlake Chemicals", then c) the sale would neither be the sale of a franchise or business opportunity.

This is an incorrect conclusion, in my view, given the facts asserted.

The State of Washington alleges that at least two distributors bought this offering by Interlake Chemicals, who did not register with the State nor have a UFOC.

For the record, Glen Stroud was involved with Paul Beaupre - who masterminded the largest single business opportunity fraud prosecuted in Canada. (Your humble scribe appears on the WFive's expose of Beaupre.)

Perhaps a background check by Interlake Chemicals would have been in order? Certainly, a good US franchise lawyer would have been useful.

(Yes, of course Richard would have seen through this too - but, I thought to highlight Keith Kanouse's article also.)
