This review was chosen algorithmically as the most valued customer feedback.

I had purchased (booked) one sofa set during “Consumer Fair” in Banglore from “Instyle Furniture”. I had asked for Safari Model Sofa with Sofa-cum-bed and I was quoted Rs. 34000 for the same. I had to pay advance for Rs. 5000 which I paid. I had asked for delivery after 3 months (as my apartment was under construction) which they agreed.

When I went after 3-months, they couldn't recognize and couldn’t search for my order for 2-3 weeks! Then, I gave them copy of my order form, they said: “We cant make sofa-cum-bed in this model”. That is not acceptable to me as that was my first requirement. Still, if they will give sofa without sofa-cum-bed, I need to pay FULL amount of Rs. 34000. (I cant change amount – they can change specifications!). If I ask for Sofa-cum-bed, it will be very HARD material and what I would get is available for Rs. 10000 in market. (model will be changed)

I found it very bad and as they are not delivering as per my requirements (AND ACTUALLY WHAT THEY COMMITTED IN WRITING IN ORDER FORM), I asked for refund. They said: Booking amount is not refunded and so forget about that… I was so angry as I am not getting anything from them (They have not even started the work as they didn’t have order form also – I gave them copy else they couldn’t find out!).

I told them that it is a cheating and I may need to contact consumer forum. They said: “Do whatever you want and you wont get anything”. As per them, they always do this kind of cheating with instructions in “order form” that we wont get booking amount if order is cancelled.

Be aware about these people

Avoid Instyle Furniture at all costs. The quality is very very bad. The leather has started peeling off in less than 4 months. The cushions are falling apart.

Even we are facing the same problem. Although we did not face any problem in the delivey schedule, the quality of the sofa is pathetic. it was promised that the leather is under warranty for 5 years but after 1 year only the leather has started peeling off. All the contact details provided at the time of purchase are not working now. Needless to say, these cheaters are absconding now.

Even I bought a sofa set from them. I paid Rs40, 000.00 for that. The quaity of the SOFA was so bad. Within a year the leahet was peeling off from the sofa from the entire surface of the sofa.

Yesatrday (9th August 2010), I visited Furniture expoat KTPO bangalore ot track INSTYLE people. They were very rude when I say my compliant to them. They took me seperatly and told nonsense reasons. Utlimately they advised me to go for a new SOFA with them.

I tlaked to one guy, climed to be the manager of Instyle bangalore. Somehow I got his number ([protected]).

Is it not a good idea to give complaint against these fellows as a group of afftected peoples?

Hi all,
Instyle funture ppl are swindlers. I tried to contact them to deliver the sofa I had ordered in Feb by paying 5000/-. They were not reachable. I asked my friend who lives near the address (Kammanahalli, Bangalore) to enquire. He visited the location and came to know that they have vacated the shop 1 month back (by may-june 2010) and are absconding. Whereabouts are not known to any neighboring shops also.
I have no idea what to do now. All I know is I have to forget about the 5000/- I paid.
CAUTION ALL!
The lesson I learnt is, when you are going to a temporary setup such as the Expos, either do window shopping or buy something outright and get it the same day.

Search for the keyword instyle in complaintsboard. You will find so many customers cheated.

It is surprisingly similar to our story. Instyle in consumer show in bangalore took 5000/- for our sofa set. So far I have not been able to get the delivery done. The promise was to delivery it in Pune which they agreed.

After several weeks of no communication when I try to contact the person who sold me the sofa (Dimesh [protected] and [protected] - supposedly Mumbai based). He told me that he will get back with the details on when and how to make the payment. He never got back to me again. He stopped answering the phones.

Then I contacted Raju (mobile [protected]) - Bangalore Instyle in charge. He asked me to pay the whole amount. I visited in style office two times in bangalore, he was never there. He said that he cannot give me a receipt as they lost the receipt. Raju wanted me to leave the cheque with one of the boys in the office.

We did not agree to leave the cheque and asked him to provide Mumbai address where I'll go personally and make payment and also take delivery. I am waiting for last few days as I have not received any information despite my repeated calls.

I believe Raju and Dimesh are completely tied up on this and Instyle in general is just trying to con people like us.

BTW - I am planning to lodge an FIR against Instyle if they do not respond to me today.

Is there anyway I can contact you to understand your experince? My number is [protected] in bangalore and [protected] in Pune. Pradip.
