Innovatek INNO-88 8GB Silver 1.8TFT MP4/MP3 PLAYER FM / defective merchandize
I purchased the above product on Nover 28th, 2008 for a Christmas present. On Christmas day, it was open. Initially all seemed well but the unit indicated rechargeable battery low. So as per instructions the adapter that came with the unit was plugged into the wall and it seemed the unit indicated charging. It was noted though that both the red light (which means charging) and the green light (meaning fully charged) seemed to be on at the same time. after a point the green light went out and the red was on. The units screen went black. The unit power was in the off position after the charging started. Well after having been plugged in the entire night, the following morning the unit was still dead. I attempted to call the [protected] number on the 26th and listened to a recording. In the recording it simply stated offices were closed and to please call back during normal office hours mon-frid 9a-5:30pm EST Saturday/Sunday 12p-5p with no mention of additional closure for the holidays. I sent emails to the service department requesting a reply as to how to proceed. Did not hear Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. On Tuesday the 30th in the morning finally got through to the office via phone. Was told that I needed to contact returns and they would send email instructing me what the process was. They further stated I must give them at least 24hours to do so. I immediately got off the phone and send an email confirming what I had been told to returns and including a copy of my receipt with an explanation of what had happened. Well it is now the 2nd and again called the office and message again gives the very same hours without mention of additional closure for holidays. I would respect that if they had. Well I have given them their 24hours and now have instructed my credit card company to reverse charges..
Further I have sent an email to the company informing them that if they wish to have their defective unit back, I would not pay to ship it and did not want a replacement from them. It is a shame that they seem to care so little. What this will do, I am not sure and won't be surprised if anything. If you need to get in touch with me. James Sumpter, 919 W.
