Il Poggio / Consumers beware: failed promises and unresolved complaints

We did check our RCI confirmation letter and it stated it was for a 1 bedroom with two sofas. When we arrived the rooms did not have this accomadation or at least they stated that they did not have it available. That is when the clerk offered the extra room at no charge. Then, at check out we had to pay for the extra room for all 7 days of our stay. We were mislead and we did not find out until we checked out of the Il Poggio.

We did tell the clerk at Il Poggio that the ants were prevelant in the room. The clerk stated, "it is that time of the year," with no mention of trying to remedy the situation. This just further intensifies the issue that Il Poggio did not follow through and say they were sorry or try to offer a suitable solution to the problem.

Our contention has been and will always be that we were told upon check in that we would get the extra room free. That did not occur. We have never received an apology from the resort owners. However, RCI did the professional and courteous thing by contacting us regarding our complaint. They at least said they were sorry and offered a free 7 day stay at any resort.

Our complaint still stands as it has from the beginning. We are quite surprised, puzzled and truly disappointed that through all of this, we have never recieved any direct correspondence either written or by telephone from IL Poggio. This is the only forum they have chosen to respond to.

Our sincere hope is that Il Poggio can examine their past practices and be proactive in trying to resolve any further complaints that may occur in the future. Hopefully, they will learn from their mistakes and behave in the future with professionalism and courtesy.

Consumers beware: If you stay at this resort, be prepared of failed promises and unresolved complaints.
