IHOP poor customer service, manager not qualified d to manage

We were dining at Ihop in takoma park and mozzarella sticks were raw and steak and cheese was way too salty. We had to wait a long time for food to be re cooked. New steak and cheese was still salty but I just decided to eat it and not complain. Mind you I'm a resident of takoma park and have been going to this Ihop for over 15 years, so I'm a loyal customer and tip very well as long as service is great! Once we received the bill, I noticed that there wasn't any discount offered other than sorry for the inconvenience. So I spoke with manager and explained the situation and he refused to give me a discount or offer anything for the inconvenience. All he said was, we gave you new food and I replied, that's not the point. The fact that we had to wait a long time is inconvenient. We ended up paying and once again I reminded the manager that it's not proper how he's handling this matter especially to someone who's been coming there before he even became a manager. He says next time I'll take care of you and I told him ther will be no Next time bc they officially lost a loyal customer plus all my family and friends that come to that Ihop. He said ok and had an I don't care attitude. This is wrong bc customer service is about making sure that the customer is happy. This is not about the money but the way that the manager dealt with this matter. He didn't even have a name tag because we asked for his name: he said that mangers don't wear name tags and yelled a name I believe yetti. I'm not sure if this is his name or not but I will definitely take this to the top because it's unfair and inconsiderate on their behalf. I also notice that manager is much more accommodating to the people from his country. I believe Ethiopia. This is not good because we should all be treated equal.

IHOP poor management

I come into Ihop about 4 days a week. I usually go there to study or do my work online while I eat my breakfast and everytime I go in there I see how hard the servers work. I have never been so disgusted to see that when one of the servers asked the manager on duty for help with an upset customer, she walked away. Then as the server tried to handle the situation it escalated to the point the customer wanted to complain on the server to corporate. When the customer figured out the manager was ignoring her the server got screamed at and blamed. My whole point is whoever aloud this woman to be a manager of a store she doesnt care about is beyond me and wanted someone else to be aware. I hope this will make a better environment because I love Ihop and this is the closest location to me. If this abuse continues I will no longer be going there.

IHOP I was starred at by the staff in a disrespectful manner with no informant.

My stay in the airport was to get rest from a scandal which I accomplished with sleep. I made my way to ihop and got disrespectful stares where as if they could be apart of. So I ask for a important evaluation of them as a customer. The time of incident was at 6:10am at the airport and my name is antonio a. Butts
Actually was employed in lithonia area with the same restaurant with a inhuman experience and feel that the restaurants shouldn't be that way. My diagnosis is schizophrenic and still need answers to my situation as well as privacy but as a past employee I feel it as unorthodox to starred at as a respectable person. So if anything happens this complaint should judify.

IHOP management of the restaurant.

I was called for an interview as a server/ manager at the ihop in kingsport, tennessee. Never have I been treated so unprofessionally! I was scheduled to be interviewed by dianne at 3:00. When I arrived, on time, I was told dianne had left but her assistant would be doing interviews. I sat there for 45 minutes. During that time I felt compelled to assure multiple guests that someone would be right with them, i'm sorry about your wait ect ect ect. I watched as unhappy servers providing horrible service went about their normal routines. Finally, after four more people arrived for their interviews, I asked what the hold up was. Apparently a fist fight had erupted in the kitchen! Are you kidding me? Not to mention it shouldn't have taken almost an hour to deal with while people are waiting for you! Finally, after almost an hour, I couldn't take any more and left having not been seen or even spoken to. I would have been the perfect hire. Not only was I the only one who showed up wearing something other than ripped jeans, I have 20+ years of impeccable customer service skills under my belt. I've served in all types of restraunts from fine dinning to pancake houses. My most recent job was taking care of the vip guests at the hilton in st. Petersburg fl. I ran their complimentary breakfast as they have to spend over eighty five thousand dollars a year to get my services. I was there almost five years before moving to tennessee. I was so excited to have an opportunity to work for ihop, a company I truly love. Now I am nothing short of appalled and incredibly disappointed. I tried to call diane the following morning to ask her why she left after asking so many people to come in for interviews and couldn't get her to come to the phone. I challenge you to try! IHOP assault at work

My name is Abbegail Ahrens, I worked at the ihop in Cleveland TN on Paul huff parkway. This store has severe issues, beginning with employees stealing, doing drugs, offering drugs, management doing meth while at work.
Last night Christmas Day I arrived at work, I'm a new employee, and proper training was never offered to me. I make mistakes, this place has been consistently becoming a hostile environment, last night I was physically shoved out the door by a girl named Paris, the door hit me in the face. Management is incompetent. Something needs to be done with the staff at this store. Please contact me if any other information is needed.

IHOP overall experience

Hello. My name is Marissa and I'm emailing a complaint about the IHOP located at 6289 Fallsview Blvd. I ordered the Belgium waffle, which I always get when I go to any of the IHOP locations. After the first two bites, I noticed that the waffle was sour as if it was under cooked or the batter was out for too long. I then got my two sisters and good friend to try the waffle just to make sure I was right on what I tasted. One of my sisters is also a certified chef. They all agreed with me that the waffle tasted sour. I then notified the closest waiter of the problem. They then offered me to make another waffle. I declined because the first one was so disgusting. He got the manager to see what they can do. The manager came out and told us he could only take 10% off the purchase because it was "half eaten". He also admitted that he checked it out in the back and said he seen that it was raw in the middle. The food was only about a third eaten up and I have NEVER been to a food establishment that made you pay for raw food. I still feel I should have never paid for this and the manager was very rude and unprofessional about the whole situation. I am very worried about if the batter was left out for more then 4 hours. They should not be serving food like that to the public, let alone making them pay for it. The waiter was apologizing the entire time. It has honestly been the worst dining experience I have ever been through. I am wondering who I contact further.

IHOP don't acknowledge veterans discounts at miami ihop

My sister is an Iraq war veteran she went to IHOP in Miami where she now lives thinking that on Veterans Day she would get a free meal as all other restaurants honor our Veterans on this day with a free meal to her surprise she was asked what that was and told they don't do that at their restaurant. It's really sad because if not for our military and veterans we would have the freedom we have. I'm sadly disappointed that they don't have knowledge of our military.

No company is required to offer a meal for free to anyone. A lot of companies don't do Veterans Day deals.

IHOP Service

I decided to come to IHOP when I got off work me and my boyfriend. We went to the one in homewood Al. When we arrived the host did not greet us just looked crazy and said you can come on. She just slid the menus on the table and walked off. Then they are short staff and all the servers are just talking and playing around using profanity around me especially the hostess. Nobody is doing their job but maybe one. I was not pleased plus I waited almost fifteen minutes before someone came. Something needs to be done about staff asap. Thank you!

IHOP stand-in manager bernie at the east brandon ihop

I frequent the East Brandon IHOP very often. I love going to that IHOP but on October 13th between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. the the regular manager was out for surgery and a stand-in manager called Bernie was on duty. I brought a young lady there that night because she was having a stressful time in her life and I was there to listen and try to help her out and cheer her up. She was very distressed and distraught. Through conversations I was able to get her mind off of things had a nice dinner. Has conversations may go you know they can last a little longer than anticipated. But the stand-in manager Bernie walks up to our table 45 minutes after we receive our food and forces us to pay our bill right then and there. Bernie was rude obnoxious and his actions we're totally inappropriate uncalled for and unwarranted. He interrupted a critical time in the conversation between myself and the young lady. Needless to say mr. Bernie's actions completely destroyed any type of help that I was giving this young lady because it upset her very much so a very nice attitude and having to interrupt a meaningful conversation that we were having. Prior to that I had noticed Bernie strutting in and out of the restaurant acting as if he owned the world and that he was the big boss around town. Anyone with Bernie's attitude should not be in a manager's position at a public place that serves the open public. His actions should not go unnoticed and unreprimanded. I have friends on top of friends that go to that IHOP and they are informed of British actions. Once I find out Bernie's regular IHOP location I'm going to put the word out of mr. Bernie's actions where he completely disrupted a fragile young ladies emotional well-being. Furthermore I would like to be informed of the actions that's going to be taken against mr. IHOP service

We were around the area at manassas IHOP to have our car serviced. We had to walk to IHOP to have breakfast since it will take 2-3 hours for the service to be done... (We love IHOP by the way) but the service of the crew in Manassas was terrible. Our server was Beverly and i dont really know who is serving us on our table since it looks very disorganized. As we were eating on our table, there was this guy (must be the manager) who asked almost every group of people on their table on how theyre doing and how their food was.. The guy looked at me and just skipped on us without asking how we're doing. Well, I really didnt mind but it was just weird that we are the only table he didnt ask and he even took a glance at us.. (Must be cause most of the customers were white, and we're the only ones that are not?!---im not saying he's being racist though). Then when our food was done I asked for a box for the pancakes that we havent finished so we can take it home.., i told the server CLEARLY that I wanted butter and old fashion syrup to go with it.. Well then she only returned with the box container and before i even speak, she already walked away... Then I had to look for her and she was rushing to get the customers and let them sit on their table which was not even part of her ASSIGNED area. Then after a while, i had to call her and ask that she forgot to give me the butter and syrup. She then confirmed that "butter and syrup, right?" And i said yes specifically the old fashion syrup. Then after few minutes she came back and only gave me butter.. She the walked away like she was in a rush but then i noticed that she was talking and giggling with her co worker. Then I had to ask the other server to give me the syrup since the our server must've forgotten... After finsihing everything with our food, I asked our server if I could have some glass of water before we head out, then she said she'll be back with our water... 15minutes have passed, I still didnt get my water and I saw her laughing and giggling again and serving the other table and seems like she must've forgotten what was asked from her. I then called her attention and said that we still didnt get our water and she said she will get it now.. She came back without any water and she headed straight to a different table.. (Im a very patient person but she is really testing my patience and im almost getting pissed off)... I called another server for water and she said she will get it for us... So instead of getting it, she went to our server and they had to argue and told her that she needs to focus on her area, they were arguing and saying that why she was serving to another table and not focusing on hers, it was very innapropriate and it seems like there's no customers around them. And after all that, we still DIDNT GET OUR WATER! and for the nth time i had to ask again where our water was and we were really thirsty since we had to walk heading back to our car service center. She said she will get it (she didnt even
say sorry nor realized that it has been a long time and they still didnt give us the water we asked for) we left without getting our water and that is the first and last time we're gonna eat at that IHOP location. I hope IHOP does something about this and hire people who truly have the heart and service in doing their JOB. (VERY DISAPPOINTED)

IHOP food bought out wrong sent back brought the items back out with food items sent back brought back out cold and no good.

On 4/29/2016 at 6:15 am in Lindale Texas went into I Hop to have breakfast. Ordered what we wanted, took a long time to get coffee to us. Then when food came out mine was wrong the eggs were cooked soft like I asked but no hashbrowns and English muffin was over cooked that I could live with but the Waiter took my Brk back and when he brought it back out the Hashbrowns were on the plate but they brought the old eggs back out and they were warmed and hard as a rock not soft scrambled and the English Muffin was the same one only hard and cold. Told them I can't eat this. My Brk was ruined. My Husband ordered Scram eggs with ham, grilled onions, bell peppers like a western oml, but was scrambled. there was no taste to his at all but he ate it. And he ordered Decaf and it took till the food got to our table to get his coffee, kept asking where his coffee was.
Went to go pay and they did not care my Brk was ruined and was going to chg me for it and I did not even eat it. The cook was a Hispanic man who does not know how to cook at all and did not give a darn he messed my brk up. The mrg did not either. This is not the first time we have been to this I hop for we live kinda close to it and everytime but once we got bad meals even for Dinner. But we thought we would give it another try since we like to patronize local places to eat. But we will never I mean never eat there again. And if you don't do something at this Rest in Lindale, Tx you are going to have to close this place down for we are not the only one who has had a bad experience. Bad Mrgmt and Corp don't give a Darn or it would not keep happening. It cost us almost 20.00 dollars for nothing.

IHOP service/food allergy - real eggs - customer complaint no. 497620

On March 17, 2016, I visited a I Hop Restaurant in Palmdale, CA. My husband and I ordered their special. Upon ordering, I requested egg beaters soft due to me being allergic to eggs. When she returned with our breakfast, I took a look at it and noticed that the eggs were not soft like I ordered them and asked her to take them back and requested soft eggs again (politely) . When she returned with my breakfast I asked her again if the eggs were egg beaters and she responded yes. I took a couple of bites of the eggs and my month, lips and throat started itching and tingling. At that time, I asked to see the manager. The manager came over to our table and I asked her were the eggs real and she replied yes. I told her that I ordered egg beaters and the waitress assured me that they were. The manager was very nice and kept asking me was I okay. I just waived my hands and told her not to worry about it. After leaving the restaurant, I told my husband to take me to see my doctor due to my month, lips and throat tingling and itching. Once at the doctor's office, she injected me with Benadryl and prescribed Loratadine 10MG and Famotidine 20MG. I feel that I Hop was negligent in serving me eggs after telling the waitress Alejandr (327) that I was allergic to real eggs and therefore requested egg beaters. If I would not have went to see my doctor, the allergic reaction could have caused me breathing problems which would have been worse. I therefore request compensation for pain and suffering due to negligence I Hop's negligence.

While I'm sorry this happened to you, my initial reaction is this may have been a risk not worth taking, given the possibility of confusion and not being able to tell for yourself if they had used eggs or beaters. Our daughter is allergic to peanuts, and I don't know that I would, for example, order her a sunbutter and jelly sandwich at a restaurant and trust that the order wouldn't be messed up.

IHOP service

On 03/08/16 @7:00PM my family and I went the IHOP in Brookhaven, MS after about 10 minutes there we finally had our order taken which was fine but after about 20 more minutes we still did not have our drinks. At this point I asked to speak to a manager and had a young lady come out that was not a manager and got our order taken again. We finally got our drinks about 10 minutes later. But after another hour we still did not have our food and every other table around us that had come in well after we were there had already gotten their food. I asked to speak to a manager again and no one could seem to find me a manager. None of the waiters claimed to know where she was. I really think something needs to be done. I understand that the young guy that waited on us was new and I have been a waitress before and it is not always the waiters fault but it was very poor management.

IHOP poor management & waitress customer service

Omg. My name is Dr. Kris Falcon. Horrible and humiliating experience. After a 45 minute wait, me, my husband, and family, one who is disabled and a Diabetic in need of taking his meds with food, who were visiting my house here in Pooler GA from North Carolina went to the 24 hour IHOP in Pooler GA. Our waitress Janee came took our drink order and disappeared for about 20 minutes or more. Our table and three other tables shared the same waitress and we were all complaining. It's Valentines day and yes it was busy, but poor service still isn't justified. We asked another waitress to find our waitress and the manager. When Janee reappeared she stopped at the table ahead of ours and apologized to them for the wait, but when she got to our table she slammed our drinks on the table and splashed my husband's cranberry juice and walked away. Appalled is an understatement! And what's worse is the manager, Andy, literally was right next to her when it happened and just cleaned it up. He then asked what was wrong, of course we're a bit pissed at this point and explained our service being horrible and Janee's attitude towards us and that we'd like a new waitress. We're assigned a new waitress, but Janee kept walking by and rolling her eyes at our table. Then I ask our new waitress if this particular IHOP is privately owned or independent. She said it was corporately owned. She offered a comment card. I said no I'd prefer to call corporate. About 5 minutes later the manager appears and asks me if i took a picture of the waitress. What the heck was he talking about? I said no but if i did its my phone. He said there's a policy about taking pictures of waitresses. I informed him I didn't, but where's a policy about it, I'd like to see it. He then asked if I called corporate, I said as informed our waitress I am. He said we could've just spoke with him and not call corporate and began arguing with me saying everytime I come there its a problem. I was embarrassed andso was my visiting family. I said excuse me I've only been here a few times and I'm new to this area and I can't believe how he's speaking to me. He said we have the right to refuse service to you and you all have to leave, you're a problem and we're busy. He was yelling and loud. I asked for his name, he again yelled get out. My disabled brother had no food and he couldn't take his meds for his seizures and diabetes, and my 4 year old nephew began crying saying he wanted sausage and pancakes. I was again embarrassed and now heart broken. Humiliated we left and we drove to another IHOP. This was how we spent our Valentines Sunday.

I totally agree with the customer on this one because the management and the the white dress should not have acted as they did and should have been fired on the spot I cannot believe this if I was treated in this way by an employee of IHOP anywhere I would not have acted so nicely that is awful and it's bad to say but I have experienced the same almost the same experience but mine was a little different than this my server's name was Renee and the manager working was Shannon and it was awful nobody should be treated that way

IHOP service

1. I was passed over during seating.
2. I was place and had to wait over 20min for serves. I only received it because I ask if the lady that was passing by was the Manger. She took order.(Not what I ask for like I wanted it)
3 I sat there another 10 min request Water and the Waitress said that's you waitress job. After another 10 to 12 she came saying they were short of staff.( I only got water because I looked upset)
4. I was so upset I boxed the food and got bill
5. Manger took money and sent a busboy to return my money.

This was an average IHOP. The food is good and the service was fine. Nothing surprised me and nothing disappointed me. If you're looking for good breakfast food, IHOP does a perfectly fine job. I had an omelette that was good. The wait staff took good care of me. Pretty much what I've come to expect from IHOP.

IHOP servers

On Friday-Saturday January 23-24 appx 1am I visited the Beavercreek location with a friend. After being sat down by server Caitlin next to the kitchen doors we were waiting for a longtime to get served finally she came back and said "I will take you drink order only" We gave her our order then waited and finally a young lady came back and took our food order.

Shortly after a server was standing right next to our table speaking to a customer who may have been a off duty employee and complaining loudly about her job. She had really dark black hair. She kept going on and on about how much money she wasn't making and how "F" up the management was. She said she had lost over $300 because they had her working in there and she had to help the new girl. Then the other girl start chiming in I think her name was Caitlin and she was saying the same stuff this was all going on in front of our table loudly with no respect for us at all.

I finally asked her to please take that in the back as I didn't want to hear it. But not but a few minutes later they were back right at it again then they went to the POS station and the new girl was there trying to input a order and was confused about something and the girl in the black hair started verbally attacking her telling her she don't get paid to train her and she was taking money out of her pocket and was just so cruel to her. This again was in a loud voice and on the floor with customers all listening in.

I was disgusted by this behavior and it really made the entire experience unpleasant. Im not sure if the problem is management or corporate but some one needs to get into the store and train the stuff properly it was a mess.

IHOP very poor service and food

My husband, grandson and myself visited this location on 08/20/20015. I would consider ourselves good customers as we frequent this restaurant on the average on 1-3 times per month. On this particular day, we arrived at approximately 11:00 for brunch. We were seated promptly. It took awhile before we even saw the waiter to take our drink orders. Now mind you, the restaurant was not crowded at all. I heard a woman a few tables away asking why her order was taking so long. We ordered our drinks and waited. After what seemed like forever, the waiter came back. We then placed our food order. We overheard another party complaining about wait time. We waited approximately 20 minutes and finally asked when our food would be coming. The woman a few tables away finally got her food and said it had taken 45 minutes. The people behind us left as they got tired of waiting. When we finally saw the waiter again, I asked how much longer it would be. He apologized and said they were training a new cook and the food should be out shortly. We decided to wait as our grandson was very hungry. Another 10 - 15 minutes went by. Our food finally arrived and I have to say, I was very unhappy with the quality of our meal. The pancakes were cold (butter not even melting) The home-fries (which I've had before and loved) were so salty I couldn't even eat them. The eggs were like rubber. My husband's omelet (bacon and swiss cheese) was disgusting looking. We asked to have the pancakes microwaved, ate those and left the rest of the food. I have to say, we left after about 1 1/2 hours, hungry and very dissatisfied. The waiter did send the manager over, he apologized, but said the home-fries were the same as always, I disagreed. He did offer to take the price of ONE meal off. Unfortunately, it will be quite a long while before we visit this IHOP, if ever.

Last time I went to IHOP I waited about 1 hour for 3 orders of pancakes! its not worth going to IHOP! I rather do my own pancakes at home. In IHOP they make great pancakes but I don't want to wait 1 hour for a few pancakes!

IHOP fired

Began there beginning of August was fired same day over another girl lies bout me working at dollar tree, I left unlike her who was fired this past may. He wouldn't listen Rashied never paid me for that day and never called back about IHOP nonsense, fired cuz Sasha jealous over all black guys were flirting and saying I wouldn't last cus they run all them out. IHOP bad food service

04/08/2015 about 10;00 PM Party of five I ordered a Philly Cheese Steak with onion rings about 15 minutes later Brandon brought me my order with french fries and said cook made a mistake and would bring me onion rings. About 5 minutes later brought me four burnt onion rings and asked me if they were too burnt he would bring me another order. Of course, I waned another order and 7-10 minutes later brought me what looked liked the leftover broken pieces on the bottom of onion ring bag. I asked Brandon what was it and he said pieces of onion rings ands Brandon asked if I wanted another order I said yes. I then quickly went to tell him to cancel order and just to give me a half refund for onion rings. Brandon explained it was too late to cancel order and that I would not be charged. I told him thank you and that I didn't want onion rings anyways. I had already finished my sandwich that was getting cold while waiting for onion rings. Brandon brought out onion rings out 5 minutes later and said I had to take them after I declined so I took them to go and gave to someone else in my party since I no longer wanted the onion rings without the sandwich meal it was just not the same. I saw no Manager in sight that night, a terrible time there.

IHOP newport, ky ihop sucks!

The GM doesn't know how to talk to his employees. This is the 2nd gm in the less than 6 months this store has been opened. Talking down to your employees and telling them that "I don't care" when they come to you with a legit concern regarding customers or the food, is not manager material, let alone GM material. Writing you're fired on the table for a server to see isn't professional. Rubbing up on an 18 year old server isn't professional either. No manager should ever be caught giving another employee a massage while on the job. This store has the worst employees and management ever. No manager should ever let another server yell at another server and not do anything about it. This store needs a new crew of employees or the turnover rate Will continue to be high like it already is for this store.

I ordered Country Fried Steak and the vegetables (mashed potatoes and brocolli) was very dry. I asked for gravy on the potatoes and was told that it would cost me 2 dollars extra, couldn't get butter for the brocolli. Manager told us that that was just the way the company told them to do. Needless to say, I won't order that again.

My husband and I visited the iHop on City Line Avenue in Balla Cynwyd, Pa on 9/11/10 at 2:00 am. The manager was outside smoking a cigarette while customers were talking loud using profanity and nothing was done. The waitress couldn't decide which was going to wait on us then the food was horrible along with the service.

TERRIBLE, my sister in-law ate some plastic, the waitress was NOT concerned about this, it took over an hour for our food, we watched the food sit up under the heat lamp for about 20 minutes while our waitress Yovnne (manager on duty) looked perplexed by our order. I will never, go to an I Hop again!

Went to Ihop in Lynchburg, VA this am...not overly busy. After waiting 30 min for our pancakes and eggs we were told after asking our waitress...she did not offer any explanation as to why we still had 10 minutes to wait. As we all had appts to make we had to leave before eating. Very disappointing experience. We eat there quite often and never had such a disappointing experience.

As soon as I came in I was greetewd by sumone who looked like they did not want to be there. It was me my husband his sister and. A ten year old, 5yr old, 4yr old. And 10month old, we had to get up and ask if sumone was going to help us it took forever to get our drinks, we ordered an appitizer and it basically came out with our meal and the mash potatoes were cold . On our plates ! Future reference I am not going back to this ihop

My first visit at night was horrible. The coffee was cold, the food was tasteless, and the service was slow. the
roast beef tasted funny and when we left to go home
we has gas and the feeling sick with the aftertaste of the beef. I went only once for the breakfast meal.
I did not have problems with breakfast.

The manager told us to leave the restaurant because they are closing. However, upon our leaving, we saw new customers going in and being served. He lied to us because the front door sign stated clear "open 24 hours" . He discriminated us because we are non-Whites.

I was very disappointed when ate at the IHOP in Union Gap, WA. It is NOT clean..windows, walls. And especially the big vent above the check in area, was absolutely filthy. Should make a unannounced visit. I won't eat there again.

ihop at 170-19 hillside ave, jamaica, NY 11432 never accept gift cards...i have no idea its like since last two months their gift card system is not working...and every body over there is so rude and some of the employees are really crazy they dont even know how to talk...

Ireally dont feel that it was right that you termanate a good employee for not saying come back to see us .
i am one of the best employees that you had i was never late i had some of the highest sale in the whole place.
i have always liked working for Ihop i would love to have my job back .its not fair.
