IHOP rude manager

The other night my five friends and I decide to go to IHOP to get something to eat in early hours of the morning around 1:30/2 a.m. It was a mess from the moment we walked in. We were aware that IHOP was going to be jam packed and FULL of drunk cowboys but, we have always has some-what decent service so still wanted to go. My two friends arrived there about 10 minutes before me and the other four so my friend put her name on the list for us. After we got there and about 20 minutes of waiting for our name to be called the manager at the front gives me and the four friends who got there late a mean glare and says not only very loud, but very rude, "EXCUSE YOU. ARE YOU WAITING FOR A TABLE OR SOMETHING? YOU HAVE TO PUT YOUR NAME ON THE LIST IF YOU WANT TO BE SAT!" so we replied back saying we did. She looked at us like we were stupid. Then my friends cut in and said, "uh I did...Amanda for 6?" the manager then looks down and says "oh, s**t". So yeah, that made us angry but we didn't say anything.

So anyway, we're sitting there under a cheap hawaiin umbrella (the ihop is decorated in this theme) and attached to a taped monkey. So a woman, a drunk one, comes up to and pulls on it, making the umbrella fall on top of us. So of course we're not just going to sit under it, we try and put it back up. But, something is wrong with it and we are unable to keep it up so we're sitting there holding it up, trying to make it stay and all of a sudden the manager turns around quickly and literally YELLS at us, "HEY! DO NOT TOUCH THAT! YOU CAN'T JUST HELP YOURSELF TO WHATEVER YOU WANT!". We were absolutely shocked. Who does this woman think she is? We weren't trying to make trouble, we were simply fixing someone else doing.

So yes, my friends got extremely mad and the woman now wants to kick us out! After we all exchange many mean words we start walking to our car and remember hey, we need to get her name. So my friend and I walk in back inside and ask for her name. She gave us her first name and absolutely REFUSES to give us her last. My friend and her say a few things to eachother and as we are walking off the manager says, "Act your age, not your IQ.". I think that was very rude, childish, and far beyond unprofessional.

Then we leave, go to Denny's and honestly have the most kind server we have ever had.

well first off.. dont bother asking for last names. all you need is their first name and the store they are located at. they are legally allowed to not give you their last name. you are on a first name basis with them unless otherwise printed on their nametag.

but i do agree with you what happened was extremely rude. but were you and your group of friends loud? possibly too giggly or anything that would make someone upset?

the last thing she said is really the only thing that can get her in trouble.. but unfortunately for you the only one in there at the moment was your friend and the manager.. your whole group wasn't there to witness the last comment.

sucks, but thats life. no need to fret over things like that..

IHOP manager

My wife and I like to go eat breakfast at the location on Merchants Dr. in knoxville TN, but we've reconsidered the last time we were their due to us not being able to hear each other speak thanks to the manager in the kitchen yelling at everyone, no complaints on the food and waitress, their always wonderful, but last 2 times we were their we were shocked at what we overheard this woman saying to her workers and her tone. WE WILL NOT dine there if she is there ever again! Great job to servers, horrible job to manager, really should be embarrassed by her vocab, no one deserves to be talked to like she talked to her workers, My wife and I feel pity for workers around her, again I will be back only if she's not there

IHOP disgusting employee

In April 09, my husband & 2 other couples came to the restaurant & we noticed the cook, was outside smoking a cigarette, with a dirty, disgusting, apron on. When our waitress came over we all kindly asked her, to make sure the cook (Dave) washed his hand & if he could change to a clean apron. No problem, said the waitress & she kinda agreed. She notice how digusting his apron was, I mean he is a cook (Dave), but this was about 1.am. or so.. The waitress came back & said he washed his hand & wiped them on the apron. He had a clean apron on at this point.
Then, on a early Saturday morning, 6-27-09, again around 1 a.m., my husband & I plus another couple came in, ordered our food. Finally my husband notice that other people had come in after we did, placed their orders, & received their orders. My husband askesd the waitress what was going on and the waitress said she just was about to ask the cook, (Dave) what was the problem. Dave loudly responded, " Hey I bet I got on a clean apron" & refused to cook our food, which was no problem at this point. He said loudly for everyone to hear. We asked for the manager, no manager on duty. I guess he held on to this retailation til he saw us again. Customers asked for Dave to wash his hand & put on a clean apron back im April & this is what we get.

good for you for standing up and asking DAVE to do what his company, his manager and his home office should have made him do. If he had any sort of pride in himself or his job he would not have been seen in that manner.

You didnt insult him. you asked him when handling others food to be clean and neat.

IHOP waitress

I and my husband went to Ihop today and the waitress was just so amazing.
It took her 10 mins to get refill so my husband had to go another waiter to get refill.
He was nice enough to get us refill even though it's wasn't his job.
And when we finnaly got the food, hash brown wasn't cooked.
So we asked her to cook it more, we got burned hash brown and she just walked away.
We decided to talk with manager and we found out the waitress asked for the "EXTRA EXTRA CRISPY"
which we never said. So he offered us new food.
He was really nice and tried to make things work but still the waitress didn't even come to our table.
Our glass was empty and she finally came to our table and gave us check.
I was really getting angry that time and asked her if we can get a refill since it was empty for 10 mins.
Guess what she said. "Oh, I'm busy"
It really got us pissed and we walked to the kichen and talk to her and manager.
Still she was saying if we want respect, we need to respect first.
All we asked us refill and served properly and that's what she said.
So the manager came out, voided our order and apologized.
He even offered us to take the food so we can eat at home.
But we didn't feel like standing there more and were so angry.
Everything was nice except the waitress "Vannessa".

IHOP service - food and night manager-bob

I ordered strawberry, bananna pancake and ham. the pancake were dry and the ham was not cooked. we requested the manager (Bob ) night shift.. first of all a manager is the highest position that night. If a customer has a complaint the manager is suppose to listen, instead he came over with an chip on his shoulder . in all my experience, i have never met a manager that did not or would not listen to his customers. I was not a money issue.. we can afford to pay for our food plus everyone that was in the resturant that night... i will not be eating there again in my life time - very poor managers skill.. he should be fired..

IHOP threat against one's life

supervisor made threat against employee with knife, then her husband came to job site and told the man he would kill him. this supervisor has a long history of throwing threats around at the cooks and waiters. They are all afraid of her because she claims she will fire them. She humiliates them in front of customers and coworkers. Enough is enough! Shes should be fired after today. The police had to be called at this location and customers started to walk out. Some employees left and said they weren't returning to work. The owner needs to do something real fast before this gets way out of hand. It's gone too far already.

IHOP poor service/sanitation/lack of items

On Sunday April 5th after the evening service, a group (22 people)from our church went to IHOP at 7609 Mountain Grove in South Knoxville (as we usually do) at 7:30 pm. We have noticed over the past three weeks that the quality of service has been declining, but it was usually something small that we would just overlooked.

This past Sunday, we noticed that the business sign out front was not on, the parking lot lights were not on but saw people inside and decided to go in anyway. Big mistake.

Six of us were led to a booth only large enough for four people. When we asked for a larger table we were seated at a dirty table that was then wiped off by our waitress using a soured towel
with a bleach solution that left the table stinking, and even she commented about the odor. We then had to ask for napkins to wipe off the wet table to prevent the bleach from damaging our clothes.

We then proceeded to order, or tried to. Five of the first six things ordered were not available. No beef tips, sourdough bread, Belgian
waffles (but we were told by our servers that they had some frozen waffles that were ("better than our own"), lemon for iced tea, roasted potatoes, ... Then our coffee was brought out in styrofoam cups because they had " no clean coffee cups". Then half way through the meal the waitress informed us that if we were going to be paying with credit cards she needed to get them early since the "machine is acting up, and may take a while to work".

We have patronized this IHOP almost every week since it opened because of the lack of restaurants in South Knoxville. We have come to the conclusion that this one must be closing soon as well.
If that isn't their intention, something needs to happen soon, because people will not only stop patronizing this location, but the reputation of every IHOP will suffer as well.

IHOP very nasty and rude

As my husband, child, and I entered the door @ ihop the morning of 2/19/09 we never got greeted it was only asked booth or table.. we sat down and server never stated her name or anything just walked away.. about 5 minutes later she came and asked what we would like to drink my husband asked for coffee never did she offer a pot of it.. my child and I dranked sweet tea.. about 5 minutes later my husband had to yell "hey miss excuse me" can I have some water she brought a glass of water to the table and the glass was "very nasty" it looked like it had dried up boogers on it.. we had to get her attention again to bring antother glass of water due to that was nasty.. she finally did and asked what did we wana order not are you ready to order... we ordered and was sitting speaking amongst ourselves 30 minutes passed we finally got our food, the people that came in 10 minutes after us got theirs before us.. opened the silverware to eat and couldnt had to goo thru 3 sets and put the 3rd in a mug of hot water to clean before could eat with it.. do have pics of the nasty silverware and also have time of all that occured.. server was very rude, nasty, and acted as she didnt want to wait on anyone, over heard her say she needed to hurry up and go on break to smoke.. this is very rude and beleive me you will never have to worry bout me eating in another ihop.. this was not our first down fall with ihop but will be our last.. I would not care how many coupons, nor how much money you try to give back on this its not worth my time.. I would rather take the $30 I spent in there and eat a loaf of bread and bologna.. hope somebody has better luck with ihop than I did..

IHOP cleanliness of restaurant

I was at the IHOP on 31st and Cicero in Chicago, IL. Everything was fine at first other than it being cold inside. We got our food... which was mediocre. My scrambled eggs looked more like an egg pancake. And the pancakes were hot when they got to the table, but because it was so cold in the restaurant they became cold within seconds. The worst part was when I was halfway done with my meal. I hear this horrible sound... ripping and sawing. Then I realize they are right beside me pulling up the old carpet from the floor. The sawing noise sounded as if it were coming from the kitchen. I was totally disgusted. When I left the floor was littered with scraps and particles from the carpet that was pulled up. No on that worked there seemed to care... they just walked around it and kept going. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE.

since IHOP is a 24 hour facility.. it is a LITTLE acceptable. the only thing you really can do is section off a couple of tables at a time and work there.. but that would cut back and make people wait irritably long amounts of time. either way, someones gonna be mad.

you may not like it.. but its no reason for you to flat out complain about them. they were simply just doing maintanance on the store.. Like i said the only thing they could have done is section off tables at a time

IHOP bad service

Monday night my man was taking me out to one of my favorite restrantants that I haven't been to in awhile. When we got there we waited less than 5 minutes before we were seated. But we had a waitress that had only been there for 5 days and was working on the sales floor alone with 3 or 4 other servers. But theres where all the problems began. After we ordered our food, there were 6 other groups of families that came in 15 to 20 minutes behind us and it took awhile before there orders were taken, plus not to meantion that we did not get our food till 50 minutes after we sat down. The other groups of families that came behind us were in and out within 30minutes. Still no waitress and no food. We were ready to get up and leave when our food finally came. We had to ask for ketcup, and the syrup. The waitress came back once to get our plates and never offered desserts, and my man had ordered the all you can eat pancakes, never did the waitress asked if he wanted another order. The service was absoutely terrible and after waiting for our food for so long I didn't wait to be there anymore. There was obivously not enough people well staffed over there and especially some of them didn't even know what they were doing. And if you have someone that is new serving at your restantant, don't you think they should be properly trained before they start serving on the floor? Not 5 days and have not a clue what they are doing. I never been more piss off until that night. It will be awhile before I ever think about stepping into that restrantant again.

Everytime I call the place, they hardly ever answer. When they answer, they put me on hold and then hang-up. If I try to go there to order out, they're VERY rude and make you wait an hour before you can place your order. No costumer service value what so ever and I am sick of it. Please do something about this or there will be more costumer complaints other then myself.

Thank you,

Abe

A group of seven met for lunch. We had poor service, never asked if we wanted a refill, items substituted without being asked if it was ok, and the restaurant ran out of ranch dressing, We had originally asked for separate tickets which is not what we received. We received a single ticket and when asked for separate tickets the server said he could not do that. When paying for tickets, she did not want to take our coupons right away, had to call a supervisor twice. Had a group of people waiting to pay after us. Just not a very good experience all in all.

if you leave the restaurant with a portion of your bill still unpaid, it is the servers responsiblity to make sure that it is paid. Often, customers don't realize this. It sounds like the server was just covering her butt, so she wouldn't have to fork over the money for food your family ate. He should have paid his bill first, then went to the restroom, and there wouldn't have been a problem.

ihop store #599 north myrtle beach, s.c. ---------june 2009 my family and used this rest. several times during our stay the food was great, but let me tell you of our server that is another storie. my husband, daughter and i have all had gastric surgery so we placed one order for us and one for my grandchild and son-inlaw, which to list she didn't seem happy. at the end of the meal my son-in lay paid his bill, while my husband went to the restroom now we were seeded right at the servers station and so is the restrooms. as the grandchild was fussing my daughter walked outside while waitingfor him she came out the door screaming like we were not going to pay the rest of the bill, my daughter told her as we stood there that he was in the restroom, she goes in to tell her daddy. the server made go appoligebut keep getting rude. to say the lest we always leave a very good tip traving, but this time she was very unlucky because he was mad. so he asked for a manage but none just a phone number, we called nothing there no appology. watch where you sit and if you divide a meal they act like you can't afford to eat. we travel several times a year and most the time we are in north myrtle beach atleast twice a year. if ididn;t have the money to stay in some of the best resorts usualy a two or three bedroom i would keep my as at home.

I've worked at the same location IHOP and have the same feelings. Terrible management to say the least, and they go through employees every week because of it. I've never been so disrespected by my employers and am upset with the maltreatment I've suffered. Also, the managers have cursed out customers and have no idea how to run a business.

IHOP - poor service/bad management

My wife and I were treated like dirt when we entered this establishment. It was as if we were not welcomed in this establishment. First of all, we just wanted to go orders so we stood at the front counter for approximately 5-10mins., before anyone asked if we wanted to order something. When the waitress, with no name tag, asked if we were waiting long but...

IHOP over charge

Look my 3yr old daughter to breakfast, ordered her the jr. rooty tooty which has 1 egg, 1 pancake, 1 sausage and 1 strip of bacon. This was $5.49 and there are no prices on the kids menus. Then I asked for a side of fruit for her and an apple juice. My breakfast was 7.49 and my drink was 1.99. When I got my bill it was $23 and some change. I couldn't believe it. As I overlooked the charges I was amazed. Her side of fruit was $3.99. The fruit bowl so was not worth it. It had 2 grapes, 2 pieces of watermelon(kid bite size), 2 pieces of cantaloupe(kid bite size) and 2 pieces of honeydew(also kid bite sizes) When I brought it up to the waitress she said ya that's what it cost, take it up with the front and maybe they will take it off the bill. Well all I got was you should of asked how much it was. It is all pre measured its only 4oz. My response was do you think I would of payed 5.49 for the meal, 1.99 for a drink and 3.99 for fruit $11.50 for a 3 year olds breakfast when mine was only 9.49. All I got oh well. You should of asked. I will never go back there again even thouth it is only 2 milage from my house. They should really look into customer service and what thing are realy worth.

I have such a better story! I LOVE IHOP-we have one 25 miles from us here in Ohio and go quite often. On a recent trip to Disneyland there was an IHOP across the street and we decided to stop and eat there (instead of getting ripped off eating in the park)
I saw the prices on the menu and about fell over. The same breakfast (pancake combo) I pay $5.99 for in Ohio was freaking $10.99. EVERYTHING on the menu was jacked WAY up in price. It was completely a rip off. It cost me $25.00 for breakfast for myself and 1 other person. They even stated there were no refills on orange juice--wth? It was $3.99 for 1 glass!

I, of course thought maybe because its California thats why so expensive. I went to the IHOP in San Diego and guess what? The prices there were exactly the same as the IHOP in Lancaster Ohio.

I think it is pathetic that IHOP (or any restaurant for that matter) would jack up their prices like that just because of where its located. That is crap.
Its pretty sad when we could have eaten IN Disney for less then it cost us at IHOP-that is crap!

IHOP gift card rip off

Cashier refused to take in the gift card due to machine is broken. I requested the cashier to punch in the gift card number manually, but he refused again. Later on, instead of resolving the issue, he passed us on to a waitress to deal with us. The waitress only said that the machines is broken and that we have to pay in full. The gift card was never used before and we even have the receipt of the gift card to prove it. This is a total rip off. Not only did the cashier not resolve the issue but passed us on to another waitress, really upset me. We should have received equal services as anybody else in that restaurant, and just because we looked young, he has no rights to pass us to another person. This is discrimination based on youth. So unfair. Cannot believe this still exist in the 21st century. Where is the justice.

I have been a long-time customer of the IHOP restaurant located at 61 Depot Drive, Hiram GA, 30141. My Family and I normally call-in for takeout on the weekend and in the past the service has been good.

Today however, the service I received was in a word “Terrible”!

- When I called in my order I notified the employee that I possessed a coupon for buy one get one free breakfast and she indicated that these coupons were not authorized for take-out orders any longer. There is nothing on the coupon, which I have used in the past, to indicate this restriction.
- I was told that my order would be ready in 15 – 20 minutes. When I arrived at the restaurant 20+ minutes after placing my order I was told that it would be another 5 minutes. It was 10 minutes before I was called to pick up my food at the counter.
- When I attempted to pick the order I was told that the restaurant was out of the proper size bags to support an order the size that I had placed, hence my order was placed in a smaller bag causing it leak out in transit to my home.
- When I attempted to pay for my order ($16.35) I gave the employee $20.00 and I was told that there was not any change available and she would have to go into the back to get it. After 10 more minutes she returned with the change. In the meantime another employee approached the counter and I asked for a customer service survey form. She looked around the counter and there were none available, she stated that she would retrieve one from the manager in the back.
- A few minutes later she returned and indicated that there non available, which by this time my food was “Cold”.

As I stated in the beginning I have been a long-time customer and I know that you have a large customer base so that losing one or two may not matter to you, but you have lost my family and friends business based on my opinion lack of management and over-all Customer service.

IHOP a roach

10/29 To whom this may concern: about four years ago my mom and I went to ihop on taylor rd. in cheaspeake virginia, we order our food . I can't remember what my mom had but I had french fries and a sub. I had only taken a few bites when the largest roach I have ever seen come walking out of my french fries. I was shock, that only happen thru hear say. I called the waitress over and told her about it. by that time the roach had crawed off the table. The waitress was so not believing me, she acted in such a non caring way that my mom and I got up and left. I have not been back since [and I only live a half mile from ihop] till last week on a sunday, where we went there after chruch because we were so hungry, and we wanted breakfast, and there was no other place really to go. it was so much better than before. I just wanted to let you know that it is much improved. Sincerly judy upton

IHOP undercooked runny egg whites the norm

I always order my egg whites cooked. This restaurant seems to not be able to do that on a very consistent basis. The State Health Department requires them to make a posting on their menu to the effect that "undercooked eggs are a potential health hazard". Runny egg whites on my plate are unsightly, unappetizing, potentially unhealthy and just plain disgusting. I am a cancer survivor and can not (NOT) eat something that has questionable preparation.

IHOP fraud and scam

On March 18, 2002 My family and friends family went to IHOP in Waldorf. We already had a problem because the place smelled like mold. My family used to visit IHOP frequently until this day. We all ordered our food. I had ordered Biscuts and gravy. Well, the food came out and the woman was handing the food around so everyone's hands were full. Next thing we know, she places the hot plate of biscuits and gravy in front of our toddle (15months at the time), of course we tried to grab the plate real quick, but before we could he put his right hand in it, thinking it's his food. He starts screaming, the server walks away.

We were trying to get the gravy off of his hand. He burned his left hand trying to get it off himself. I ran to the bathroom and got a wet paper towel, the gravy just stuck to him. The server came over and we demanded the check and asked to speak to the manager. The manager then comes over and asked us what the problem is, so we told him what happened, not like he couldn't hear it. We also told him that we want to leave and get him to the hospital, because his hands were bubbling.

The manager kept us at bay for almost 30 minutes. We told him we were leaving and then we got up to walk out. All of the sudden he gives us our check. We didn't eat, and left everything on the table. We walked up to pay so we could finally leave. I asked him to write his name and the servers name down so I knew how to contact regarding his medical bills. He starts arguing with us, telling us our son had no business putting his hands in the food. I said 'excuse me' and he continues, 2 people were behind us, so I told him to let me pay my bill so I can get him to the hospital.

He then looks at the people behind us and tells them not to worry about their bill, and he was sorry for there inconvenience. Really! I just stood stunned, he then says, what the F*** is my problem, I told him to just let me pay my bill. After that he proceeded to call me a ### and told me to give him my F-ing bill. When I told him that he had it, he started up some more, so I said 'that's it' I'm through, and walked out.

My son had to see his regular doctor the next day and she was overwhelmed by what happened. Unfortunately, there isn't too much they can do for him because of his age and he's small. She could only give him a ointment to apply when he feel asleep. By Friday of that week, he ended up with an infection in the blister; they were starting to pop.

After trying to contact IHOP for a month, someone finally calls me and asks that I have his doctor send a fax of his situation. She also makes the comment, 'You need to understand that the server was only 17 and does not have children of her own.' They sent them one stating that he did receive 2nd and 3rd degree burns to several of his fingers on both hands and would be scarred as a result. We didn't hear anything more, so I sent numerous e-mails to IHOP, finally we contacted by their insurance company a month and a half ago. The insurance man came to our home and took pictures of his scars.

We were told that they would contact us asap as to how they will settle this. I still haven't heard back. I just sent a e-mail telling IHOP that if this isn't resolved, I would turn this over to my attorney. I have given these jerks ample time to try to help the situation and the only response I get form them is, 'it's your son's fault' and 'sorry, but what do you want us to do?'. If I hear back, I will update this report as to what they want to do.

IHOP Wrongfully fired employees

I was wrongfully fired because they say i tried to resale a ticket and some of my beverages were not on my ticket and the other mgr that worked on our night shift Ms. Shondra went and told the general mgr Ms. Cartina that I was rude to her and loud which i did not do. I was working for that particular ihop for 3 years without a write up on file at all and all of a sudden i get 3 write ups in one night. To me something is not right with that and its not only me its other employees that she has fired as well with no good reason. I sat down and explained to her and the owner Nash that this job paid for everything i own and i didn't have anybody here in atlanta but me and i needed my job. As a result i am almost homeless and about to lose my personal possessions as well but they don't care. That ihop in my opinion needs new general mgmt and a good exterminator for all of the insects that are in that store.

IHOP unacceptable

MasterCard's Merchant Rules prohibit merchant's from requiring identification to process a credit card transactions on signed credit cards. After dining at IHOP I provided my MasterCard for payment and was asked for ID, which I declined. They asked for another form of payment as their "policy" required ID. I told them I had no other form of payment and was threatened with arrest for 'dine and dash' and 'theft of service.' Until my wife finally paid. Unacceptable, Merchant should know the rules.

Someone has got to go into the Hwy 60 store in Lake Wales. The servers wash dishes. How unsanitary is this. Instead they are to cheap to hire full time dish washers. I am sick of companies not providing enough help in their business. They are just concerned about the funds of the business and saving money. Instead of paying for what the customers want. I have been into the 95 store and you have the Regional and store Manager talking to an employee like they are nothing and something should do something about. You don't treat people like crap. They help bring you business. How can you think your above everyone when you don't know how to deal with people.

I have experienced the management at store 95 in Lake Wales to be very rude. She talks to them any kind of way like they are 2 year olds. I am so surprised to see people get treated like this and nothing is done about it. These servers are here for the customers. Without them there is no running a store. I am very upset. Some management take their authority to far.

A merchant has the right to ask to see ID any time they want. I worked at a major credit card co for 20 years in the fraud investigation department. I WISHED more merchants would have asked for ID cause it would have saved the company I worked for tons of $$.

Per merchant agreement the merchants are supposed to veri the signature on the back of the card matches the signature on the sale---just how many times do merchants even bother to look anymore?

I write "check photo id" in sharpie on the back of all my credit cards (debit cards too) and highlight that. I get asked id occasionally which I am thankful for.

You should be thankful they (IHOP) have that policy in place.

It protects you as the consumer. With all the identy theft and credit card fraud going on in the world, an ID check is the first step measure enuring the name on the card matches the ID and the picture resembles (however vaguely) the person attemting the tansaction.

A restaurant (or business) pays a fee for each credit card transaction, so in effect they are accepting less than the full amount transmitted. If a fraudulent transation has occured it is charged back to the restaurant (or business). They lose the money.

When a business accumulates losses above a tolerated amount they usually pass that on to the consumer in increased costs.

Would you have complained if someone had used your card and IHOP had not checked ID?

I agree. If the cardholder wishes to show their picture ID with each card use, why not simply write 'Check ID' on the back of the card?

I don't believe you signed a waiver before you dined agreeing to live up to their credit card/ ID policies. Perhaps these should be served with the menus?

Mastercard should not make a ruling like that, unless your picture is on the card. Cashiers are not hand writing experts, which means anyone could use your card. I welcome any place of bussiness asking for my ID.
