I loaned asubstantial amount of money to a not profit organization by the name of IHOOT ( in honor of our troops), there focus is to support the military veterans by offering them funding, seeing eye dogs, housing etc.. The money was loaned in order to entertain the troops and their familes at the Tiger Woods at&t golf classic in Maryland. It has been over a year and the funds have still not been repaid by this organization. Philp Stambler ([protected]@aol.com) who is the marketng director at Walter Reed and Maynard Smith ([protected]@comcast.net) are the main players in this scam. Thought I was doing a great deed by helping the troops, turns out it was the biggest mistake of my life.

I didn’t believe the reviews and had hoped that there was some misinformation until ihoot took me for a ride too. It is disappointing to see an organization under the umbrella of “helping” veterans and not provide what they said the can do. They claim 91% approval rate it should be 1% that get a vacation stay.

I have enjoyed vacations with IHOOT for many years now. Things were going great until just before the pandemic. I am not sure if there was a staffing change, or what happened. But the demeanor of the email responses changed from terrific and happy to rude, short and downright disrespectful. This year, I've submitted my $100 application fee, but the organization refuses to answer direct questions, and did not grant my vacation or refund the fee.

I am also a Wyndham VIP Owner, and frequently donate unused vacation time and money to IHOOT. During the pandemic year, I donated all of my vacation time. This year, I believe I've had my fill of 3- and 4- word email responses from IHOOT, a professional organization. I will run it up the flag pole with Wyndham, and I've also stopped referring IHOOT to my DoD colleagues.

Was a great program. Not sure what happened. Disappointing.

I apply for a week stay for My birthday on September 9 of this year 2020. I gave them a $100 non refundable for according to them processing fees in July. Didn't get response from them so I had called. I spoke with Philip Strambler. He told me there was a problem with my email and they have sent a confirmation several times. I checked my Spam mail and even made a check on my email, Nothing. I call several numbers that showed on the website And the person that always answer was Mr. Strambler. At the end I didn't take my vacation and he kept my $100. He told me I was a no show and that I couldn't reapply. How can I be a no show if I never got the itinerary. Also it could have never been my email because he was communicating with me to true it. This person was rude and disrespectful to me. I feel that he should Be more careful In handling certain situations. He couldve found another way But instead it was easier for he to blame my email and dismiss me by saying I was a no show. It Irritates me to see how people like him can take advantage of soldiers who have given so much for this country

There's only one contact telephone number on the website. This individual received a confirmation for his 1st choice selection, but was a "no-show" which didn't allow providing it to another deserving family.

I joined a few months ago, they took my $75.00 I filled out an application for hotel accommodations and have not heard back! They did reply; we got your $75.00. They never said they received my application or if any hotel is available. When you go to the website there is no place to log in; but they advertise to for you to donate $$$. Veterans be aware; do not join this scam!

Responses are listed after each comment: COMMENT: "I joined a few months ago, they took my $75.00" ANSWER: There is no joining IHOOT! COMMENT: "I filled out an application for hotel accommodations and have not heard back" ANSWER: IHOOT does NOT provide hotel accommodations! COMMENT: "They did reply; we got your $75.00. ANSWER: Applicants receive an IMMEDIATE receipt from PayPal or PNC, not from IHOOT. COMMENT: "They never said they received my application or if any hotel is available." ANSWER: Applicants must acknowledge understanding the Rules, Guidelines and FAQ's BEFORE submitting the application which state that applicants should allow at least 4-6 weeks for initial processing, possibly more for high demand locations and/or high demand periods of time such as holiday periods, Spring Break, etc. COMMENT: "When you go to the website there is no place to log in, but they advertise to for you to donate $$$." ANSWER: Once again, there is no "sign-in, " applicants must submit the application form. If someone chooses to donate a vacation to another veteran, they can. COMMENT: "Veterans be aware; do not join this scam!" ANSWER TO VETERANS: This program has provided free condos and villas (NOT HOTEL ROOMS) for over 15, 000 Active Duty Military, Veterans and their Families for 21+ years. However, one must follow the simple application Rules & Guidelines.

This organization also claims to provide Hotel accommodations for troops to various locations. However, require a non-refundable deposit of $75.00 even if the organization cannot accommodate the Service-member within a year.

IHOOT does NOT provide hotel rooms. It provides Condos and/or Villas that saves Active Duty Military, Veterans and their Families $1, 900 to $5, 900 per stay depending on when and where you receive reservations for a nominal processing fee of $75 for Active Duty, $100 for Veterans with Proof of Honorable Service. If free lodging isn't available, applicants are given 365 days to resubmit new dates and/or locations using the existing fee. It's all clearly stated several times in the Rules & Guidelines before being able to submit a request.
