I ordered an item from the PropertyRoom.com website in May 2008. On July 28, 2008, ID Secure a/k/a TLG Identity Security removed $11.99 from my checking/debit account without my knowledge or authorization. I have requested ID Secure, et al. to return the monies to my account. I reviewed my account today and they still have not returned the monies to my account. I am very disappointed that as a consumer, our information can be shared with other sources such as a fraudulent security monitoring service. I hope that ID Secure aka TLG Identity Security stops this habit of aligning itself through a company known as "Great Fun" and simply removing funds from people's accounts without their knowledge or authorization. As a consumer, we all need to be made aware that if you are ordering through any of these companies, there could be a possibility that your information might fall into the wrong hands. Thank you for letting me post my warning message so others might avoid this type of fraudulent activity.

They are still at it. I noticed 149.00 taken out of my account in Feb 2011 and I called "TLG" which turned out to be "Identity secure" and I was told my wife had authorized their services because she cashed a little 5.00 "promotional" check when she had received clothing from an order she had placed from a cataloge. My wife never cashed such a check!. I looked at our bank account for 2009 and 2010 and they had taken out 149.0 in Feb of both of those years. I asked Identity secure for a refund for both of those years and they beat around the bush by saying they would furnish a copy of a check with her signature, that was 3-31-11 and nothing has come in the mail. Amazing ! Am identity theft protection company stealing money for bank accounts! Do not deal with Identity secure aka Affinion.

I recieved a card in the mail from ID SECURE stating that if I didn't call the cancel my membership by June 2010 (I recieved this card in the mail June 7th) that they would automaticaly renew my membership and charge to "the account you originally designated each year" well I don't know what they are talking about but my actions were:
I called but they wanted me to enter my membership number so I hung up.
I verified no unknown charges were charged to my credit card account.
I cancelled or verified cancellation of credit cards I don't use anymore.
I went to my bank and changed my Debit Card number.

I too became the victim of the TLG Secure All when they chagred $99.99 on my chase credit card for their services that I never received or did not know about. My case has an interesting twist as I did not notice these recurring charges (every 6 months) on my card for 1.5 years as I do not use this card for transanctions and I never checked the activity on the card. After several calls to Chase and Secure All they offered me a refund for 99.99 (In total they charged me for $400 over the period of 1.5 years). I got really disgusted with the situation and called Secure all again to talk to the supervisor. I told her how come I never received any documentation from this regarding this program (she insited that TLG sent out information packages to me every 6 months). I finally asked her to provide me the copy of all the communications sent to me over the period of last year and a half (I never received a single doc) and then she decided to play nice and offered me the full refund of $400. These people have no concience and I can't beleive how they can go to sleep everyday with the guilt of ripping people off like this. Chase credit company played a shady role as I was told by TLG that I got enrolled when I deposited $9.25 check into my accoutn that Chase supposedly sent to me as a reward (spending a certain amount on the gas and grocessries using the chase card).

property room .com is a rip off be advised that they use fed ex shipping and 3 day service does not count weekends so if its sent friday it will be the following Wednesday before delivery plus the charges are over inflated property room charges 4.95 handling fee plus
small package shipping 2 pound size is over 15 dollars for so called 3 day service you can end up spending in shipping and handeling more than 2 times the purchase price with no recourse their shipping cost are just a estimate and you can figure it will be at least 5% to 50% more a legal excuse to steal be warned boycott property room.com and any form of fedex shipping as they sleep together and you have no recourse except get it taken out of your checking account or charged to your credit card I just deleted all my credit and money information on property room.com and HAVE NO INTENTION OF EVERY BUYING FROM THEM OR ANY ONE WHO SELLS ON THE SITE!
sadly I will not buy from a place i was buying from on a weekly basis unless he will ship some other way dont care usps is faster safer and faster

My story may help you guys. I called the phone number listed on my bank statement. [protected]. spoke to ID Secure staff, who told me that someone cashed the check that was sent to me and opened an account. I insisted it wasn't me and they did refund this year's charges of $129.99. I spoke to a supervisor named Inez Riley, and she found that I have been charged 4 years in a row. don't know how I managed to miss that, but she offered to refund all the charges if I sent a letter stating that I never agreed to sign up, and I never cashed the check they sent to me. she also closed my account, and gave me a confirmation number and a cancellation code in case I needed it. fax letter to [protected], attn: support service.

As noted above, I did get my $139.99 back, but I continue to get "checks" from Pedi Paws. I must have had at least 6. Now, I know enough not to cash them. But, wouldn't you think they would cease and desist?

What a bore!

Just got off the phone with TLG ID Secure. They said I signed a check that indicated that I accepted membership. I received nothing in the mail from them but did check my CC statement online and saw the charge. The statement showed a # [protected] which was not a good number. I then found [protected] that worked. I told the woman I had no recollection of checking off anything like she said I did and wanted the membership canceled. She said it would be, gave me a cancellation number and said it would take 1 to 2 billing cycles. We'll see. I think this company is out of CT. I may try to write to their attorney general.

My mother was robbed of $139.99. She received and deposited the $5 check they'd sent her without reading the fine print back in February. I just reviewed her debit card through the web and traced it back (she hadn't set up the internet review and had been missing a LOT of money each month). They'd been hitting her account at different periods of the month since then until they finally hit on a day just after she'd recd her check from SS in early May. I talked to their customer service (contact number changed from [protected] to [protected] on 5/5) and they said it's a prorated refund. Only refunding $84.99 of the $139.99.

My dad died this morning so dealing with this and the thieves who've been stealing their money is horrid right now. TLD isn't the only one out there. She's been hit by about 10 different ones in the past months. We've got refunds from 4 so far. TLD will be the 5th.

Be careful and diligent.

Well, they did return the $139.99 to my account rather speedily. I'm amazed! I suspect that this kind of publicity for them will make them shape up regarding requests for return of money. Problem is, alot of people will probably not realize what has happened and they will continue in their fraudulant ways.

Thanks for the encouragement. Only problem was being without my debit card for a week, but it was worth it!

I GOT MY MONEY BACK AND YOU CAN TOO...

I like many others have also been ripped off by Tlg, simular to other stories posted Tlg took £350 out of my account without telling me. I contacted my bank(hsbc) by phone and told them it was an unauthorised charge, i also went into the branch explained everything that happened and showed them this website.By that afternoon i recieved a phone call from the fraud dept.Days later i was posted a form for unauthorised charges(all i had to do is sign and date it)...This was exactly 2 weeks ago and i'm soo pleased to say that today my bank refunded me all £350!

There is no point trying to contact tlg and get a refund, the only way to get your money back is from your bank, they have the power to make a charge back to your account. Despite supplying tlg with all your account details, it was not for the purpose of them to take a random sum of money out of your account.IT IS STILL FRAUD, through an unauthorised charge.

I urge anyone who has experienced what i have to go into your bank..tell them what happened, how they talked you into giving over your bank details, how they promised to give you a loan, that they operate under different names and that you were not informed of any charges and you will get your money back.

Tlg are a fraudulent company who are not in the business of loans it is simply a guise to steal money from us.Dont let embarrassment stop you from goin to you bank, they are proffesional con artists and it cannot continue

I called my bank and they recommended cancelling my debit card and issuing a new one -- a pain in the neck, but I know it's the best thing to do. They said I should call ID Security, which I did. ID was very polite and said they would cancel it. I said "What is it?" and was told it was to protect my identity and card numbers. I asked how they would get them and they dais I would call and register. Of course, I knew nothing about this other than the $139.99 on my acount. So we'll see if they do indeed cancel the charge. My bank said if they didn't to come over and talk to them about it. This is a small country bank, which makes it easier, I think.

I'll keep you posted

Debbie, David, Peggy...you will get your money back. I was ripped off $139.99 by these people May 22 after signing a check for $8.50 from pedi paws. I thought it was a refund they owed me, never thought twice. I filed a dispute with paypal, also called this number [protected], the number for ID Security, the company that actually takes the money. May 28th I received a refund of $139.99 from paypal, AND same day $139.99 from ID Secutity. Two refunds. I'm going to see how long it takes them to realize that. Tempted to close out paypal, close out my checking account which they also have access to and keep the extra $139.99. I'm mad as hell also!
Stay on it...try that number first thing tomorrow. I found if you say right of the bat when the phone gets answered "speak to agent" will keep you from having to play the game with entering account numbers, names, etc.
Good luck, keep us posted!

This same thing happened to me. I just got my bank statement with the $139.99 charged against my account on May 21. I know just how it happened. It was Pedi Paws. I received a $5.00 check and stupidly thought it was a rebate, so cashed it. When I received another for $8.50, I knew there was a problem, so read the back and realized I would be "joining" something.

It's Saturday, so will call my bank first thing on Monday. Is there a best number to call the company directly? This really stinks!

Well, today is Tuesday, 3 June 2009. TLG Identity Security has refunded my checking account for the full amount of $139.99. My checking account was charged 5X $36.00 for overdraft fees (which my bank has refunded along with the $139.99). They will remove the $139.99 that TLG refunded on Monday 2 June 2009. Thank god that my bank (PNC) was very understanding and worked with me on our checking account). I sure hope all of the above mentioned have been refunded and that an attorned will contact one of us so we all can start our own class action suit. Susan M. Zavalick

Truely unbelievable. These people really need to be stopped.
Queen, call the company. I was robbed May 22, 2009 of my paypal account and bank account. (didn't have enought to cover $139 in paypal) Friday before a holiday so there was nothing I could do until Tues. Then, once the transaction was completed I opened a dispute of charges with paypal. I also called these theives and was told they would refund my money within 7 business days. Seems I signed and cashed a $8.50 check back in January. I thought it was a refund for one I had sent back. Never thought twice about cashing it. In April I received another $5 check from Pedi Paws, thought that was strange and read the back of the check where it said something to the effect if you cash this you will be signing up for something. Don't remember reading much more than that, I ripped that check up. Imagine that, they were going to rip me off twice if they could. By Thursday, May 28, paypal returned $139.99 to my paypal account. Friday this ### of a company also returned my money to my paypal account. I have two refunds from this TLG Security ID place. With that said, I do believe if you call them they will return the funds. At least they did with me. Maybe they won't notice I've been paid back twice. BAD BUSINESS, I can't believe how long this company has been operating like this.

TLG Identity Secure charged my debit card $139.99 and I do not know how they got my bank information. I called my credit union and put a block on the payment, but it is the weekend and their is a possibility the amount will pay. How is this possible? Wish me luck, come Monday, I am closing this debit card account.

We just found out that today we too had a charge from, "tlg* identity secur". I have no idea why we have been charged this... I talked to my wife and she said she had been tearing up the checks that were supposedly a refund from pedi paws. When we originally ordered the pedi paws it double charged us even though it showed we only ordered one item. Then they said they would send us a check for the amount over charged which we have still not received. In the mean time w have been receiving checks for five dollars. I am really upset that they let a company stay in business that has a history of doing this to people. The amount of money they pull in by doing this and holding the money for so long I am sure they can gain a good amount of interest on it before sending it back to those who have noticed the charge. Then to top it all off when I read the class action law suit… They said they will change their practices July 21 2009… How or why would a court let them push the date out so far..

I just went to balance my checkbook and found a charge for 139.99 out of my account to this same company mine too had the phone number but they are not open until monday in the meantime i will be broke. By reading your accounts I now realize it may take a while longer to get my money back and I have no idea how they got my information and were able to charge my debit card from my credit union. If you do have to get a lawyer please let me know so that I will know what to do next.

That's interesting info Susan - yes we need someone (An Attorney) to help us all out of a bad situation that is not our fault at all. Get this - when I called the phone number [protected]) that was listed on my bank statement because it was my debit card that was used by TLG ID SECURE - a recording that was playing while I was on hold was telling me how to prevent Identity Theft - that just takes the cake doesn't it. Well I did talk with a gentleman named Corey and I was advised that I would have my money back into my account within 7 days. He told me that when I cashed the refund check I signed up for a membership with SHOPPERS ADVANTAGE. I told him that I had received some data from them and that I myself called to cancel all connections with SHOPPERS ADVANTAGE - because I did not want their membership. I cancelled my debit card. I need to correct my previous statement - my purchase and refund check was from EasyComb not Boojee Beads. (Sorry Boojee Beads...) We are all hard workers trying to make a honest living in this bad economy world we all live in - and for someone to take our money unlawfully is just wrong and we need HELP from a HONEST LAWYER that believes right is right and wrong is wrong. I'm all for a Class Action Lawsuit myself - because these type of people need to be stopped.

TRILEGIANT SETTLES CALSS ACTION FOR $25 MILLION
COMPANY AGREES TO CHANGE ITS BUSINESS PRACTICES JULUY 21, 2008

A Madison County, Illinois court has granted final approval of a nationwide class action awsuit against Trilegiant Corporation, providing up to $25 MILLION cast benefits, along with changes in Trilegiant's business practices. This settlement resolves nationwide litigation against Trilegiant for allegedly gilling and collecting unauthor8ized charges from consumers for products or memberships that consumers never requested ro consented to receive. It also resolves disputes over alleged refusals to cancel memberships upon consumer request. "We believe this settlement provides substantial benefit to the class members, " said Brad Lakin of the The Lakin Law Firm, which filed the suit against Trilegiant in 2001. Trilegiant, a subsidiary of Cendant Corp., has also been the target of actions by attorneys general in California, Connecticut and Florida. In 2006, it settled charges brought by 16 states alleging that Trilegiant and Chase Bank had deceived consumers into paying for membership programs. Consumer Affairs.com readers, like Glade of Missoula, Mont., have filed hundreds of complaints about Trilegiant and its many membership programs. "I discovered a charge of my Chase card for $12.99 for TLG Priv.grd. I called Chase and discovered that this company has charged me $470.00 over three years, "Glade said. "Chase gave them my infor when I opened my accounts and acts like it's my fault." Under the settlement, consumers who had unsolicited or unauthorized charges for Trilegiant products posted to their credit cards or other accounts for such Trilegiant products as Privacy Guard, Credit alert, Auto Vantage, Travelers Advantage, Buyers Advantage, Complete Home, Digital Protection Plus, Great Fun, Great Options, HeathSaver, Hotline, Just for Me, National Card Registry, NetMarket, SHOPPERS ADVANTAGE, Travel ER, and others, can file a claim to receive a minimum of $20.00 or whatever they were charged - up to three times the cost of each Trilegiant Product for which they were charged. In addition to the cash compensation, the settlement requires Trilegian offer consumers an easy cancellation method, affirmative relief regarding Trilegiant's business practices, a charitable contribution, and payment by Trilegiant of all costs and legal fees related to the lawsuit. This I found while looking into my above claim and thought everyone would appreciate how TRILEGIANT has CHANGED their practices of taking UNAUTHORIZED MONIES. Please, someone help all of us (A LAWYER INTERESTED IN TAKING OUR CASE AND SPEAKING FOR US) Hope this helps everyone. Susan M. Zavalick (callsusan@yahoo.com) Lancaster, PA

Today is the 27th of May and our account was charged $139.99. I have no idea who this company is or how they got into our account for this money. I contacted our bank and the stated charge is pending since yesterday. I just don't understand how someone can go into your finances and take what they want and you are left scratching your head...Well after playing detective, I canceled my account with Woman Within and Romans and it was not them (they work with UMG Security) and then called the SHOPPERS ADVANTAGE which gave me a free trail membership which I did not want. We ordered PEDI-PAWS for our dogs and received a $5.00 check which we thought was a reimbursement check which turned out to be a Shoppers Advantage trial membership. It was through PEDI-PAWS and SHOPPERS ADVANTAGE that are affiliated with TLG IDENTITY SECURE. Here is the telephone number that you have to call: [protected]) I spoke with Frank with stated the monies would be reimbursed and I contacted our bank. Be sure to get a CANCEL CODE, then call your bank with all the information. Hope this helps everyone that has been taken advantage of.

peachykeen, I can't believe these people. I have filed a complaint with Internet Crime Complaint Center, a division of the FBI. Everyone else should do the same. I will continue to stay on this until I see some sort of justice. These people are theives and need to be stopped. I have to go to the bank first thing in the morning and stop payment. Hopefully it will be in time. I will be faxing paypal a formal dispute of charges. Being all this happened on a holiday weekend there is not much else I can do. I won't be able to sleep until this is settled! I don't care if it is $139 or 139 cents, you can't take someones money like this. I cannot believe how many people they have ripped off in the past year and nothing has been done about it.

Debby - ours was from a $5 Pedi Paws check as well. We ordered one in December for a Christmas gift. I have no idea if my husband cashed the check, but I don't think he did. These people are such ###! He called them the day after the pending transaction showed up on our Bank of America online baking and they cancelled the charges.

I think everyone on here needs to submit complaints to the Better Business Bureau and get these people taken out. It makes me sick!

Add another one to this list. May 22, 2009 my paypal was charged $139.99 from this company. I have no idea who they are or what they do. I do remember a couple months ago getting a $5 check from Pedi Paws. I DID NOT CASH IT, I read the back of the check where it told you you were signing up for something by cashing, I ripped it up...so cashing the check or not checking the check, it doesn't matter. They still charged my account. I am going to take this as far as I can. I agree with a class action suit...something. These people need to be arrested and charged with theft. They stole $139.99 from me and I'm not happy.

We too have a charge 'authorization pending' on our debit card, dated 5/22. I did not notice it till AM of 5/23, of course a holiday weekend! I sent an e-mail and left a voice mail for my bank...hopefully we can get it stopped before they process business.

On May 22, 2009 I was going through the bank transactions and noticed a charge for $139.99 from TLG Identity Security. When my husband and I called our bank we found out that my husbands card number was used for the transaction. We requested a new card and destroyed the other one. We will be notifying the BBB in Texas and we think a class action suit would be a great idea. we need to stop this company and make them pay for all the stress they have caused everyone. My husband is the the only one working in the household because I am a disabled veteran. We can not afford to give hard earned money to strangers.

AFTER PLACING AN ORDER WITH STAPLES I WAS REDIRECTED TO THIS TLG WEBPAGE AND PROCEEDED TOCHECK IT OUT! IT SOUNDED LIKE A DECENT IDEA...UNTIL I TRIED TO BACK OUT TO THE STAPLES SITE...THEN I HAD TO GO OFFLINE AND BACK ON TO GET STAPLES AGAIN. NOTHING SEEMED TO BE AMISS UNTIL THE DEBIT CARD I USED FOR STAPLES STARTED GETTING DEBITED FOR TWO, YEAH THAT'S RIGHT COUNT THEM TWO, TLG SERVICES(PRIVACY GUARD AND ID SECURE). THEY GOT ME FOR $11.99 BEFORE I CAUGHT THEM. LUCKILY THE CARD I USED WAS A PREPAID DEBIT WHICH IS ALL I USE ONLINE, AND I ONLY KEEP ENOUGH FUNDS AVAILABLE TO MAKE PLANNED PURCHASES. TLG REPEATEDLY TRIED ABOUT 4 MORE TIMES TO DEBIT ME FROM 11.99 TO 139.99. AFTER READING OTHER COMPLAINTS ABOUT TLG MY SOLUTION WAS SIMPLY CANCEL THAT CARD AND GET A NEW ONE ELSEWHERE. TLG IS AN UNETHICAL, SLIMEY, SNEAKY, AND USELESS COMPANY. BEWARE EVEN LEGITIMATE WEBSITES, LIKE STAPLES, WHO MAY UNWITTINGLY BE ALLOWING THIS COMPANY TO OFFER IT'S SERVICES TO THEIR CUSTOMERS.!
