Icon Media Communications / Wrong Ad; No Follow-Thru on Promises

In 2009, The Berry Company sold me an ad space for the "Yellow Pages" directory. As we are a professional graphics arts company, and prepare hundreds of ads for clients in our region (many for the "Yellow Pages"), we took it upon ourselves to submit camera-ready artwork (it was a display ad), per Berry Company specifications. We were then sent a "proof" of the ad we sent them, and we're asked to "sign-off" on our ad. We did. When the book was published 5 mos. later, we were discouraged to find that not only did they place the wrong ad is our space (how could that possibly happen????), but had the unmitigated gall to charge us. After one-zillion emails and phone calls later, we finally got The Berry Company to admit they screwed up. So they extended an olive branch by offering a "Berry Company Cares Certificate", valued at $60 times 12 months. In October of 2010, we had yet another dazzling sales rep solicit us for ad space - and when we told them that we would like to use our "Berry Cares Cert"; we never heard from them again. Go figure. The Berry Company is one of the worst run companies I have ever encountered. They make promises and break them (even if there are signatures/dates/facts). Has anyone else experienced their incompetence???

    The Berry Company finally made it good! Kudos to them for following thru! After about 3 years of ad mishaps and errors, The Berry Company came thru and contacted us (Icon Media Communications), and in fact, gave us a very competitive rate on our current ad (2011) in order to make up for all of the "issues" we'd experienced over the years. When I say "competitive rate", I mean to say that they made good on their "customer care" coupon which allotted us one free year of ad insertion/placement in their phone directory. There are too many names to mention here, but suffice it to say that The Berry Company pulled a rabbit out of the hat and made us "happy
    " once again. Thank you for your professionalism and attention to detail in spite of being a very large company with people virtually everywhere. The disconnect came when one person would leave a task or customer follow-up to the next guy...and basically nothing got done. But it's all bettah now. Woo-hoo.
