HSBC Holdings terrible experience!

Almost a year ago, I lost my home to foreclosure. Someone wanted to buy the house; HSBC appraised it at $140K and this company offered $100K. HSBC refused. I filed Chapter 13 and while I wasn't notified, I'm sure the house sold at auction. I wanted to dump the Chapter 13 and get into a debt settlement program but I'm sure HSBC would come after me for a deficiency judgment. I hate this company.

Ah yes, the famous HSBC, well you won't listen to my husband who tried to tell you we have faxed everything you wanted and yet you deny our request for modification because we didn't submit the right paperwork from our first mortgage CitiMortage. Uhm, my husband submitted the paperwork that we send via western union each month to make a payment. That is all we can show you. Our monthly statement won't show up to date information tell the six months "trail" is over, which they will probably screw us anyway, is over. UNDERSTAND! HELLO there! I'm speaking ENGLISH here. Thank you very much for be unreasonable and helping out one of the thousands of customers out here who needs help. NOT! Would someone from this company who cares about your customer and willing to work with us, understand our needs, and would like to keep their home, but on very limited income, call us and work with us. Thank you. Please make it someone we can talk to and understand.

The year of 2008, my wife & were unable to pay our taxes on our home so we let HSBC know about what was happening. In the year of 2009 HSBC said that they would pay the taxes, which were 3, 100...so they had a dead line to get the money in by June 2, 2009, which they got the money into the tax office 4days late, the property went to a tax sale, the person bid 30, 000 ...which means his name went on the title deed, in oder to have his name removed, HSBC had to pay him 41, 000, so they" HSBC"paid him off...with that being said HSBC place that 41, 000 on top of our mortgage, which made our payment jump from 1650 to 2817 a mth...which have never been behind since they pull this mess on us...

HSBC Holdings insurance, bureaucracy

This is an account of my troubles with hsbc auto finance following my corporate relocation with mnc to asia in august, 2006. given hsbc’s global footprint and slogan “the world’s local bank,” I would have expected far better understanding of the needs of expatriates.

Due to my outstanding balance on my auto loan, we elected to put the car on blocks in mnc’s company storage. as part of this arrangement, mnc self-insures all stored employee assets for full damage coverage at replacement value.

In the fall of 2006, we received notice from hsbc asking us to provide proof of insurance coverage. at this point, jy in his capacity as an official representative of mnc provided a letter dated november 30th, 2006 guaranteeing that the vehicle was insured through mnc’s self insurance policy that temporarily resolved the issue although the initial $40 charges from hsbc were never refunded.

In spring 2007 we received a new request for proof of insurance coverage. on may 14th, 2007 we resubmitted the letter of november 30th to customer service. after reviewing the letter the agent agreed it to be satisfactory and instructed us to fax an additional copy of the letter to customer service.

Assuming this matter was satisfactorily resolved, we were surprised to notice monthly charges of $64.25 being charged to our account starting may 30th 2007. upon receiving this kr (replaced mr. y) provide notice on october 30th 2007 certifying that the vehicle was fully covered by mnc’s self insurance policy. after this proved unsatisfactory, k spoke with je in hsbc to identify the exact wording required by hsbc. k provided this revised wording to hsbc on november 21st, 2007.

Once again assuming this was satisfactorily resolved, we were surprised to receive a letter from dk indicating that hsbc still did not view mnc’s proof of self-insurance as satisfactory despite using the exact wording requested by j in the letter of november 21st.in this letter, mr k indicated that mnc (misspelled in letter) has not provided proof of casualty insurance protection without indicating what this proof should entail.

"All you have to do is have your ins company call HSBC's balboa ins [protected] and verbally verfy that the veh is fully insured, then the API charges will be dropped."

THIS IS BULL. I and my ins. companies called AND faxed required info from Mar. 2009 to Aug. 2009 REPEATEDLY and we are still being charged for TWO vehicles. HSBC Auto AND BALBOA Insurance - YOUR COMPANIES ARE BOGUS!

I agree with all of the complaints, they have done so much to me I really don't know where to start, they stated I was 6 months behind on car notes and I was only 1, the paperwork they sent me didn't match the info the young lady gave me the day we discussed this issue. They are rude and quick to report you and most of the time it is their fault. I had true-pay, they keyed wrong# to bank and then told me I didn't have a good account number I asked how is that and I sent you a zoided check, so I requested a copy of what was sent to bank and it was a human error on their part, they changed carriers, never called or wrote me to let me know? Then the phone calls start, they have did this to me since Oct 2008 and now they say we have a new carrier, I don't even want to fool with them, I'll let my bank pay them. I am still looking for all of my checks to match the times they said payment wasn't made and I WANT MY MONEY BACK AND AN APOLOGY. If you can't get someone else to fiance your car. DON'T BUY IT..THEY ARE BAD..

HSBC Holdings harassment!

I have been 100% percent disabled from type I diabetes complications since 2005. 95% of my ssa and ssi income goes to pay for the special care I need. my physician has written to hsbc services giving them a full listing of the complications and of my inability to pay on this unsecured debt. I have been threatened by hsbc services and this puts my health at further risk for additional complications besides retinopathy, kidney dysfunction, poor circulation in the lower extremities, and a stroke which came on in december 2004.

HSBC starts calling me before 8.30 am and ends around 2.00 pm. Then the calls from an "unknown number" start and continue until 8.00 pm. How can I get therm to stop? I', m currently unemployed and have told them repeatedly. Can I start harassing them? This has been going on for OVER 2 MONTHS!

HSBC Holdings - poor service

HSBC may wain the award as worst bank in Dubai...I have been trying for 7 days to get my internet password reset and no matter what I try it never seems to work. The last straw was when the call center agent told me I could pick up a phone banking number (my original was never received) at any branch. I went to the Ibn Battuta Service Center and was told...

HSBC Holdings interest rate

I have been with this company for more than 4 years. I have always made payments on time, except for when I was involved in an accident and had to depend on the insurance I purchased through HSBC. I have always tried to make more than the monthly payment. My interest rate kept increasing so in May of '07 I contacted the company and asked them to reduce my rate. I was told they would lower it from 28% to 12%. I waited for several months and they never did lower it. I called them in November and asked them why my interest rate was not lowered and I was told I did not qualify. I told them that if I didn't qualify to have my interest rate reduced why did they keep on raising my credit limit. They had no answer. I told them to cancel my card because I had previously been told I would have it lowered and even received a letter to confirm that fact. This company would have kept raising my credit limit and my interest rate to get more money out of me. I think they should be investigated and that all the people who have been charged outrageous interest rates should be compensated. I am also sick and tired of speaking to people who can't even understand English. I have never gotten a rep that could be understood or could properly understand what I was telling them.

Absolutely agree. I was late on a payment and my rate went to 21.80%
Made two payments next (1) for current month and one for next month with 2 checks and explanation. HSBC put both payments on current month and said I made no payment the next month. Raised my interest rate to just shy of 26%.

After calling them, they were just plain mean and would not budge.
This is a secure loan.

Yes I Do Agree

HSBC Holdings rip off!

I have been a victim of the HSBC debt cancellation program. Few months after purchasing my Yamaha bike through a dealership I was going to pay off my balance and noticed that I was been charged a debt cancellation fee every month. I am very sure that I never signed any paper for such program. The customer service agent told me that I was enrolled into this program on the same day I applied for finance by a telemarketing call and it would take up to 6 weeks for them to send me the proof. In the mean time if I don't pay the debt cancellation fee then I would be charged interest on that. My promotional offer will end in few days. I am not sure how and where I can place a complaint regarding this scam!

I am trying to get a group together to file a lawsuit against HSBC. If you bought a Suzuki bike at your local dealership and financed it through HSBC then contact me @ scarpenter2125@yahoo.com. We purchased a bike in 07 and we were under the impression it was a typical loan, like a car and it would be paid off in 5 years. It wasn't until several months later we realized this was a revolving account with HSBC and it would take years to pay off paying the 250.00 every month, which we thought was our monthly note. Anyhow contact me ASAP if this has happened to you.

i have an account with hsbc also: I started using the debit card. I thought that when your checking runs out that they take it out of your savings: No, they give you credit and charge you overdraft. sometimes your withdrawals dont show up online for days . so you still think that you have money in your checking account. meanwhile they have given you credit and are charging you for overdrafy. You dont see it online until your next direct deposit. They use the debit card to get more money from you. I riped my up. banks suck

My mother has had a similar problem with HSBC. In 2005 she purchased an off-brand desk-top computer in the amount of 2200.00 at the local Best Buy. The sales man told her it was 12 months same as cash. (I know I was there with her. When she received a statement from HSBC the following month she was quite confused, since she didn't apply or have this credit card. She called HSBC and they told her Best Buy had transferred the account to them, instead of carryng the liabilty themselves. Since the amount was 12 months sames as cash, my mother divided the 2200.00 by the 12 months and made that payment. She was quite surprised the following month when she received her statement with a late charge and several other charges, one being an insurance charge that if she could not make payments due to illness or hospitalization the payments would be covered. However, the insurance did not apply to her since the insurance was only for those individuals not owning their own business (which she did). When she called to complain that she had not signed for this plan, she was told all accounts are charged and it was up to the customer to cancel it. She promptly cancelled the service and requested a credit. They agreed to cancel the charge, which they have yet to do 3 years later. She also questioned why she received a service charge since she purchased the system with the understanding that the purchase was 12 months same as cash. HSBC told her that once Best Buy had transferred the debt to them - that agreement was voided, since it was only with Best Buy that the agreement was made, and if she had read the Best Buy contract in full she would have known this. Complaining to Best Buy got her no where, so she bit the bullet and made her minimum payments plus additional monies out of her business to bring the amount down so high interest charges would not be so high and paid as soon as the bill was received so that late fees would not be added to the account. Despite all of this, after 3 years of paying this bill AND NOT CHARGING ANY FURTHER PURCHASES they say she now owes over $5000.00! Due to an extended illness, and hospital stay, my mother had to close her business, and did miss 4 payments. Since she lives with me, I get phone calls for her EVERY SINGLE DAY about this balance. I have told them repeatedly that she has been hospitalized, and we do not have any idea when she will be released, since she is being sent to a long term care institution. HSBC have tried to bully me into paying this bill (even though my name does not appear on any of her accounts). I flat out refused this solution, and they tell me that her credit rating (and mine?!?) will be affected since they will have to turn it over to a collection agency! I know they can do nothing to my AAA credit, and I am certain that due to my mother's present condition she could care less about their threats. Since my mother has paid the origional amount due at lest 3 times over, I do not feel she owes anthing at all.
I advise anyone dealing with HSBC to read ALL of the fine print and make sure you understand ALL of the additional fees. It wouldn't hurt to ask vendors if they sell their accounts to an outside credit service before purchasing, as well as reading any fine print on their contracts as well, regardless of how long it takes! The time you spend reading, asking questions, and fully understanding what you are getting yourself into, ESPECIALLY with HSBC and Best Buy companies.

HSBC Holdings 0% scam

BEWARE this come on deal for 0% balance transfers from HSBC and GM FlexCard.
They do not send the first billing (read other complaints), they do not tell you that they transfered the funds, you don't even know that you have an account with them. This is how they scam you out of the 0% interest deal. Then they send a "second" bill with the interest raised to 9.99% and late charges. When you call and complain, you will get more late charges and the interest will go to 34.99%.

HSBC AND GM FLEXCARD ARE A BUNCH OF CROOKS, BEWARE!

If GM approves this type of business practices, it's no wonder that they are in financial trouble.
I have always bought GM, but never again.

It's true--they advertise the 0% introductory rate for 1 year and then chage you 17.99%. I complained, and was told that they had purged the information on my enrollment. The expectation was that I would just pay the interest since THEY purged my information. They wanted to know if I had kept the documents that had promised 0%. Aren't banks required to keep certain records by law? Anyway, they agreed to "research" the situation and get back to me within 48 hours. It has been almost a week and I have heard nothing. I have seen these offers from many different credit card companies, but have never had such a bad experience! Stay away from GM Flexcard!

HSBC Holdings hsbc credit card never used; still bill of 3500/-

I never used the credit card ; I still got bill of rs 3500/-.
Further I get threatening sms and letters to pay the bill in 24 hours.

It's really painful.

Name : sameer shelar
My card number is: [protected]

I got hsbc credit card when hsbc representative visited our company last year.

I never used this credit card; still the card bill went up to 3500/- rs.

1>to cancel the credit card I cut the card into 3 pieces and dropped into hsbc atm drop box, 2 months back.

2>since then I was receiving daily sms threatening that “please pay the outstanding amount within 24 hours”.

3>I called the hsbc helpdesk 5-6 times; they said that they are in process of cancellation and I will get a confirmation call in couple of days.

4>but I never received the confirmation call to cancel the card.

5>in spite of this I received 2 monthly statements from hsbc stating the outstanding bill amount more than 3500/-

To get rid of this pain I have approached my company and informed them about the pain I am suffering from hsbc; I also requested them not to provide hsbc creditcards to company employees.

Now I am posting this issue on many websites through which I can create awareness in people not to use hsbc credit card.

The most important "the consumer forum"; if it is still not solve, I am going to register a complaint with consumer forum.

Hope this will solve my problem,

Same here, almost 2yrs back i was convinced/forced to take the HSBC card by an Executive by telling all his personal problems, he did not mention/update me anything about the TATA AIG insurance, he just told me that it was a life time free card. After 3 months i saw a statement from the HSBC bank asking me to pay some 300 /-, when i called them they said that the amount will be cleared within 15 days, but got another statement of 800/- after which i asked to cancel the card but even now i am getting the statements and the amount is piled up to 8000/-.

Even after so many phone calls and emails there is no justification from the bank.
Can somebody tell how to resolve this issue?

This is how HSBC Credit card runs its business that in India through fraud, threat & irregular financial practices.

They try to extract large amounts of money from people in middle class families with jobs, to generate work & money for their employees, to grow their company in India.

As soon as Govt of India and RBI realise that they are harassing their people they should be out of business in India.

They are famous for changing due dates and adding excessive late fees just to put your account over what you have actually charged. This is fraud in the extremist sense. Therefore action is being taken by Congress to correct these abuses by credit card companies. HSBC is the leader in it next to Capital One.

I think if there is an annual or renewal fee, the consent of the cardholder needs to be taken before renewal.

HSBC Holdings finance charges

Opened a new younkers acct.in august. my first bill was sent to des moines in my maiden name to another persons address. this is 250 miles away from my address. I didn't get a bill at my address. I called a cust. rep. at hsbc on 11/08/07 because the person in des moines who received the bill called me and told me. I told the hsbc rep. I would pay the bill in full but wanted the finance charges removed. she said she would and understood the situation. I asked her to send me a bill so I knew where to send the payment. she said she would I waited for the bill to come and was ready to send payment asap but the bill didn't even show up until 12/3/07. and when it did it had finance charges tacked on. (younkers card arrived 12/01/07)
I called and asked them to remove the charges. I spoke with abagail #330 at hsbc and she was rude and bullying and blamed me because I didn't receive the bill. how can I send payment if I don't know were to send it? I will pay what I owe, but the finance charges are out of line. I even called a younkers store manager and she tried to go to bat for me. no luck. I am sending the check certified mail and closing the account. I was on hold with hsbc for a very long time and then reps are rude. be sure to look closely when you sign up for a store credit card and if it is hsbc don't do it.

I applied for a Younkers credit card not knowing that Younkers did not handle thier own credit accounts. I received my bill in the mail so I didnt include the bill in my list. I normally paid the bill entirely as soon as I received it in the mail. For some reason HSBC set my account to online - how I do not know. I realized I had not received a bill in the mail so I called to check - this is when I learned I was supposed to pay it online. I incurred late pay fees. I complained and HSBC set it back to mailing my monthly bill. Again it happened so I finally asked HSBC to close my account. I will never buy at Younkers again.

I'm having similar issues with HSBC and if there's a class action lawsuit, I want in. I had a final balance of 4000.00 on my account. I saved the money, called them directly and paid them over the phone. The HSBC rep I spoke to told me the balance was paid off and that I would be receiving the clear title to my Suzuki in the mail. I hung up the phone and watched my account and for 3 days the money didn't come out of my account. Once the money left my account, I received the title in the mail about 3 weeks after that. The following month I received a bill from HSBC for $67 and some change on a zero balance account. HSBC has done everything they could do to keep me in debt to them the entire time. I missed a payment and they jumped, no they pounced at the opportunity to raise my rate to the max. They found every angle they could work to charge me if i paid early or late. twice when a payment was sent it, it was receive a day early and they processed it as quickly as possible before the next cycle. That way the payment wouldn't go for the proper month it was due. Then the next month I would find that I conveniently missed a payment. But when a payment is in on time, and its close to the end of the cycle, they mysteriously hold the payment till its past due. This company needs to be investigated. Its unethical in its dealings and should be held accountable for its crooked actions.

They are the creditor for kawasaki, and thus i am financed through them. First month went fine, i am paying double my minimum. Next two months i see there is a finance charge? what for? its $57 the first month and $61 the next month, i dont understand.

Why am i being charged a finance fee? This makes no sense.

I paid my balnce due in full last month. I now have a statement with a balance due of 1.10. When I pay a balance in full by the due date, I don't expect to owe any further amounts. I would appreciate a prompt reply as this 1.10 balance is due 02/18/2008.

Thank-you,

Sincerely,
Kathy Morrison

Same old crap, I applied for a balance to be transfer from another card, because of the 0% offered. They never informed me that they had paid off the other card, and in the meantime I had another card pay off the balance, and then I got a statement from the paid off card showing a $6000 credit. I had to call them to find out that the balance had been paid by the two different cards. Didn't get my first bill, next bill had $39 late charge and the 0% interest raised to 9.99%, I called, was told they would send a duplicate statement, waited for the "duplicate" bill for 3 weeks. THIS IS HOW THEY SCAM YOU OUT OF THE 0% INTREST, that the advertise. PRETTY TRICKY, HUH? I received next months bill a week later, paid all due. I waited 1 week and made another payment, then paid the next bill on time. The next bill had 2 late charges, and I was then paid a month in advance. I called, they took off the 2 late charges. The next bill had 2 late charges, and raised my interest rate to 34.99%. I am paying off the whole mess and getting away this bunch of con artist.
I cannot believe that General Motors let this bunch of weasels handle their FlexCard.

If anyone is interested in joining together for a Class Action Suit against this bunch of crooks, let me know.

Dear sir,

Reg : my credit card no – [protected]

I have received a letter from you dated november 7, 2007 threatening me of sending the credit history of my card to cibil and rbi.

While censoring you of not sending this type of letter in future, I write to inform you that the amount mentioned by you in your letter has not arisen out of my purchase and non - payment but for the debits of the annual renewal fees charged by you. please note that at the time of offering the card your marketing team had given me to understand that the card given to me was life time free of charges. however, to my surprise I received a statement from your bank wherein you had charged annual renewal fees. as I have three other platinum cards from three other leading banks of the world I was not interested in continuing your card by paying annual fees. immediately I had communicated my decision to your executives on your phone number 022-[protected] who assured me of doing the needful. during that time I had asked him to incorporate my new address for future communication and that was done by him. please note that my act of communicating new address proves my good intention and this was done after your charging of the annual renewal fees. please also note that I have not used your card after this.

during the last eight months, in spite of my communicating to your executives about my decision of not continuing the card because of the reason mentioned above, I am continuously getting telephone calls and reminders from your office. please note that this is disturbing and breaking my peace of mind particularly when I didn’t want to continue your card and have not sent any request to renew the same. my conversations with your executives may be available from your voice recorder. please note because of your continuous harassment over phone and sending of insulting letters, I can take you to consumer forum and also inform rbi. about the credit history mentioned by you please note that my exceptional credit history can be established from the other three cards possessed by me for the last ten years where there is not a single day default.

Please note that if I don’t get an apology letter from your bank along with a fresh statement after reversing of your wrong charges within next 10 days, for the above action of you and your team, I will be constrained to take up the matter to consumer forum marking a copy to one of the leading news paper of our country.

Sincerely,

Coupld of months back I recieved my HSBC Credit card which I'm using it now. But the worse thing is I didnt get any PIN number which I found very important to avail the internet banking services. Also, I havent ever recieved any bills regarding my transactions, though I'm clearing few transactions which I remember well.

This has become a major problem for me. There are hardly any possibilities to over come this problem.

HSBC is the worst ever USER FRIENDLY bank.

HSBC Holdings payment statement not received

First time when I used hsbc credit card, I did not received the statement. I talked to customer care dept, then only they sent the duplicate copy after the due date of payment, but I made the payment before due date. but after that I never received any statement from hsbc. I so many time requested to customer care dept and every time I just got the assurance but not statement. since I never know the billing date and due date nor no body can remember the last purchasing after so many days, hsbc has charged the late fees and other charges and also they have blocked my card due to which I am unable to talk to customer care dept also.

Now I am helpless as neither I can talk to customer care dept nor I can't make the payment of late fee and interest charges because this is the mistake of hsbc, as I never received the statement.

HSBC Holdings inefficient processing of credit card applications!!

I filled out an application for a HSBC Gold Credit Card on their website. Within a week, an agent called requesting me to furnish all the documents needed for processing my application. I advised him to call me 2 days later as i was out of town then. In the meantime, Citibank came up with an offer of a lifetime free card and i chose to go with them. When the agent from HSBC called again for the documents, i advised him to cancel the request and told him that i was not interested in the card anymore as i went with Citibank. The agent told me that he would cancel my application with HSBC.

2 months later, i receive a mini card statement from HSBC on my mobile, the message read "HSBC Pre-statement alert: Outstanding on your Card no. ************8680 on 8-NOV-07 is 586.07. Pay full or min amt due of 100.00 by 30-NOV-07."

I was shocked to reveive this message and wasted no time in calling HSBC Customer Care [protected]). I spoke with Debushree and advised her of my concern - She said that card ending 8680 was indeed issued after being successfully processed. I told her that i had not provided any supporting documents needed for HSBC to even process the card and more, I had not received the Card and neither did anyone at home sign to receive the card! She was very apologetic and assured me that the card would be blocked with immediate effect. I also requested her to cancel the card.

I am still worried if HSBC will continue to haunt me by sending me bills for a card that i never provided supporting documents for and that i never actually received!

My friends have had bad experiences with this Bank, especially with the rude behavior of their collection agents in particular.

Personally, i would never want to do business with HSBC in the near future!

I held their credit card for over 15 years. I always paid them even through extended periods of unemployment. In june of last year they raised me to 32% interest not because of non-payment but because I was only sending a little over the minimum. When I tried to negiotiate with them, they were nasty, condescending and disgusting. I tried several times. I even proposed that they should close the card and put me back to my original interest rate and I would pay them. They told me there was no room for negotiation. I did not pay them for one month because I could not get anyone's attention. I then got a credit card counseling service involved that has only succeeded in getting me in chargeoff. I have now gotten a different agency involved. We called HSBC the other day to try again and they just got nasty and hung up the phone. I have never dealt with such disgusting people. They are the only credit issue I am having. I hope they go out of business. I was a long standing customer and was treated like garbage.

We paid the balance off in full but the payment arrive a couple of days late, so they charged me late fees and interest. I did not realize this right away as I knew I was paid in full. Once I did i was 30 days late on late fee I called and cleared this up right away. The amount was about $35.00, they have put it on my credit report and refuse to take it off.

Completely agree. The bank service is so poor that I will never ever refer anyone I know to use their service. I was conned by one of their credit card promotions and did not receive the item as promised. When I called the hotline and they took weeks even moths to get back to me. I decided to terminate the card and will never to have dealing with this bank forever.

I agree with your complaint. The same thing happened to me in which i chose the option "pay balance in full" online while making a payment. After doing so, I assumed my balance was payed in full (WRONG) and believed that emails I was receiving were to just try and get me to spend more money, as they have sent to me in the past. It turned out I had lingering "trailing interest" of around $10 which turned into a 30 day mark on my credit. It seems like I would receive a courteous phone call to make me aware of my $10 balance about to go to collections when my payment history has been Excellent!

HSBC - worst customer service. I called HSBC phone banking from abroad on 15th June 2010. My call was attended by one DURGESH. Despite me going PIN verified, he again asked me to come PIN verified. When I wanted to register a complaint on Internet banking, he refused to take down the complaint. When I wanted to complain about double PIN verification process, he refused to take down that complaint also. When I asked him to connect me to a senior officer, he put me on hold for 33 MINUTES !. After 33 minutes, he came back and said that his supervisor is TOOOOOOOO BUSY ! and she will call back. This is the way the "WORLD'S LOCAL BANK treats its customers ... Good luck to them.

I totally agree with the rude behaviour of Collection agents and Customer Care in HSBC. They proudly tell their name and location and say do what you want we would continue to harass you.
My card expired and I paid once last and then I did not get any statement so i assumed there are no outstanding. Nothing for 2 months. No credit card statement via post. In mails, the one they send did not open. After 2 months, their collection agent from Mumbai starts threatening and shouting. When I complain against it, they said why did you not ask for credit card staement. When I said, I did not know of any dues and in any case they should send me credit card statement, they lost no time in blaming me for all. Then they said that they would send a statement and collection agent's call would stop. Calls again two days later at night and Customer Care informed me that though they are sending me my Credit card detailed statement, though the payment date is 20 days ahead, the collection agent would still call me. And they dont care if I complaint.
Worst customer care service available. Mistake to be its' customer.
Also, the collection agent said that "am I an MP or MLA that I am not paying? Seems that Bank has free for MP/MLA policy."

Please find the following mail I sent to the HSBC after facing so many hassles. I cancelled my HSBC Credit Card and also closed my savings account. There was no transaction happened using HSBC Credit Card. Still I keep getting SMS and calls from HSBC to make a payment to tham, but they don’t have any explanation for what I have to make payment 
------------------------------------------------

Hi ***,
This is regarding the Credit Card issue I am facing from the day I applied for it. I am an employee of *** since *** and I am holding my salary account in HSBC.

One of your executives met me in my office regarding HSBC Credit card and I applied for the same. During that period I received a call from your bank asking me for a balance transfer (of amount 25, 000/-) from another Credit card to HSBC Credit card and I was assured no extra charges for this and I will get 3 months time to repay the amount.

I accepted the request and after that I didn't here anything form HSBC for more than 2 months and all of a sudden I got a courier from HSBE and found a cheque (Number: *****) of 25, 000/-, but by that time I had already paid the due amount for the other Credit card (ICICI).

From HSBC customer care I came to know if I use the cheque I will have to pay around 650/- extra as a processing fee which was never communicated to me earlier. Since the cheque was delayed by 3 months I had no use no use of the cheque as I had already paid the due amount of my other Credit card. So I wanted to cancel the cheque. Your Customer Care gave me the impression that I cannot do that. On being asked what if I would have used the HSBC Credit card for an amount of 25000/- and won't have paid the amount for more than 2 months what would have the bank done. I got the answer that they would put a fine for not paying the amount.

Then I asked why they have taken more than 2 months time to send me the cheque. If I wouldn’t have paid the amount to ICICI, who was going to pay for the fine? Why there was no communication in between to assure me that I am going to get the cheque and why they hid the information that a processing fee would be charged.
After listening to all these the executive told me that if I have to cancel the cheque, I will have to go to the branch office. The branch office is very far from my office as well as from my home. It's not possible for me to take a half day leave just to cancel the cheque.

I asked for the option whether I can hand over the cheque to the HSBC executives who come every week at our office. That option was also not accepted. I asked to wave off the processing fee so that I can use the cheque for my future Credit card use. But that option also was not granted. I was very frustrated and said that I am not going to use the cheque. The executive replied back that I still have to pay a fine amount and the executives comment that if I didn't want to use the cheque why did I accept the courier was really disgusting and I decided not to discuss the matter with the customer care further.

I spoke with one of your executive who comes at our office on a regular basis to help the customers. He complicated my problems further saying that I must have applied for it otherwise HSBC does not accept telephonic request (remember, I didn't call HSBC, rather HSBC called me up) for such kind of balance transfer. I was unable to convince him that I didn't submit any form for such kind of request. Moreover, you confirmed me later that telephonic request is possible for such kind of offer (and all Credit card executives keep calling their customers for such offers).

Even if I would have submitted the request, why did I receive the cheque after more than 2 months? What's the use of the cheque now? I want to cancel the cheque, but again no help was offered regarding this matter.

Today I got another call from HSBC that I have to pay some minimum amount as I have received the cheque. I don't understand why I have to pay a minimum amount though I haven't used the cheque.

I have discussed the matter with our finance department and couple of times I have discussed the matter with you. As per your request I have stated all the difficulties I have faced with HSBC.

I would request you to look into this issue and take necessary steps to cancel the cheque. I would also request you to cancel my credit card. I don't want any further hassles using HSBC credit card.

Thanks,
“One of the most HSBC tortured user”

HSBC Holdings hsbc credit card cheating

Long time back HSBC peoples called me regarding life time gold credit card. I refused that. But contineously they called me up. They should complete 15 customers per month. So they sent out credit card with out any confirmation. I didn't open the cover also.

Recently I have received one SMS regarding 4670 Rupees outstanding. They didn't send any communication letter and call. I called the customer care people they told HSBC won't give life time free credit card. They will charge anuall fees and what ever charges applicable.

I am very disappointed with their service. It is very worst. They are cheating the customers.

It happening in HSBC malaysia as well, the HSBC marketing will try to persuade to you take up the credit card by telling your waiver of annual fee as well as cash back but it is not happening. After few months I still don get my cash back and worst when i call customer service they just say they will investigate and eventually I had to call so many times with no answer given !

HSBC is a very sneaky company they send out many card offers by different names some with very good interest rates that is how i fell into their trap. they sent me and offer for 0% for 12 months on balance transfers. it sounded great because at the end of the offer the interest was to be 9.9%, they first did what they said then they began charging me late charges when i was set up on auto payment with them, so i couldn't be late the first time they removed it after that they kept telling me they were not responsible if the payment was not on time even though sometime i had emails from them that they were on time when i told them this they said just because they received it on time doesn't mean it's posted on time there is no bank that i know of that has this practice and i have checked with many this is when i found out it was an HSBC card even though there was a different name on the card when i started checking my cards i had 4 HSBC cards and didn't know it. I think all cards should have to say who owns their company, i have had nothing but trouble from all cards from HSBC.

This is very rediculous to say about a multinational bank that, the executives/bank officials in Somajiguda(hyderabad branch) are too egnorant and rude in thier speaking with customers.

I actually made an advance payment of rupees 2000/- on the 3rd january-2008 and my billing date is on 5th of every month but the payment of rupees 2000/- did not reflect in the bill and when I called customer care people they adviced me to either raise a complaint in phone but it takes 3-4 days to get response or to go directly to go bank and meet Rahul Varma, he will solve your problem on the spot. So i decided to meet Rahul Varma in the bank, but in bank one lady officer in a single window desk said you cannot meet Rahul Varma and also if paid your money then it will may reflect in next bill.

Then, I asked what is the solution, then she replied me that go to Chennai branch( in very egnorantly). This peaple talk very softly when they ask us to apply for Credit Card but they responces in this kind of way after once we became a customers.

HSBC Holdings nobody cares about missing money

HSBC made several fixed monthly telegraphic payments to Standard Chartered Bank in the first quarter of this year for me, both HSBC and SCB accounts are in Dubai and are in my name. Three of the payments never hit the receiving account but have been debited to my HSBC account. It's now the end of October and it still is unresolved, they have just lost my money. People take the details, go on holiday and don't reply, complaint emails and faxes are simply ignored (after carefully being given a 'complaint number' by the bank). These people are a complete disaster, the staff have no pride in their work and no respect for their customers. Their just saying 'sorry' all the time does absolutely nothing.

HSBC Holdings savings account - failure to show fees and debits online

The normal procedure of maintaining an account is to have a balance of 25000 over a quarter period. Now I have not been able to maintain this balance for numerous reasons, which is not up for debate now. There are charges levied against your account incase this is not maintained.

What is indeed a painful issue is that these levies cannot be seen on the account statement. The balance statement of the account does not reflect this amount, and the account is put on hold for want of payment of these charges.

My issues is that unless I see that there are charges, that i need to pay before i can start using the account again, i cannot do anything. In short, nowhere in the account statement could i see that such a charge is being levied on my account. The least that the account should have showed is an overdraft or a negative balance, which I could resolve by paying. But unless this is not visible to me, i am not in a position to envisage such a hold on my account.

I recently transfered an amount of Rs. 36000 into the account, and issued a cheque for Rs 35000, unassuming that there is such a hold on my account. I was never told of it. The cheque bounced! and I had to face the embarrasement of not having an honorable cheque, despite having the amount in the account, AND having to pay chq bouncing charges.

I later discovered, that i have to call the customer care to remove this hold, which would further take 5 working days for the process to be completed.

Such shoddy management is nothing short of being called ridiculous! My suggestion to all, take your monies out from this bank if you have already committed such a mistake

I inted to move the courts soon.

Karthik

HSBC Holdings shadie pay off of auto loan

I just paid off my auto loan with HSBC auto finance. I paid off the amount ,a little over 15k,that was stated in their billing statement. I have never been late with a payment. I then get a bill from them for $104 and it is due in of all things it is due in 01/05/2010! I called had a heck of a time finding out what this is about.Basically they didn't know themselfs at first, them a supervisor said it was for amertised interest, because the pay off amount was only good for 30 days or so and they got the payment from me 2 days after the pay off was good for. Whats up with that kind of ethics, I pay off a 15k debt, never late and they charge me $104.00. As to the $104.00 bill being due in 2010, there was no explanation at all, they did say it had nothing to do with the pay off of the loan and I would receive my clear title. All I have to say is, HSBC I better receive it! I would recommend that no one use this finance company, their treatment of customers is, if nothing else, quite shadie!

[protected] press 1 for english, then 3, then 0, then 0. But did you not check your mail a few months ago? Or the hsbcautoloans.com website? HSBC Auto Finance EXITED the auto finance industry in the US.

Santander bought out their portfolio and will now be servicing your loan.

You should of payed before the 30 payoff. You had to pay 2 days interest. Its your own fault!

There is this thing called daily interest, the payoff you sent in was probably your balance owed, not the Payoff amount. The payoff amount would include the interest accrued from the last day you had made a payment until the day the payoff is received.! Per you contract!

HSBC Holdings hsbc-tata aig general insurance

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am Sandeep Lohchab, I used to carry a HSBC credit card and few days after receipt of Credit Card, I got a call from TATA AIG saying that “TATA AIG-HSBC have made a partnership for general insurance”. That executive start telling me about the plan and start gathering me the information, I told him that I don’t require this kind of policy. Instead of my denying he sent me the policy.

After receipt of the policy, again I called the TATA-AIG that I don’t want this policy. But no action has been taken and when I receipt the statement that policy premium amount was there.

After that I called HSBC and TATA AIG many times. They are saying that you have to give written application for cancellation. Then I told that I have never opted for this policy then why should I apply for cancellation.

But they are always adding that amount to my statement.

Finally I destroyed the card.

But, still I am getting the calls from them regarding the payment.

Please help me what should I do in such situation.

AS I HAVE NEVER GIVE ANY ACCEPTANCE IN WRITTEN THEN WHY THEY ARE CHARGING ME FOR THIS KIND OF POLICY.

Hope for a positive reply me from your end.

With Regards

Sandeep Lohchab

HSBC was rated the worst credit card company under last year's survey. I can see the reasons why. It has limited customer service hours. I have called so many times in the afternoons and weekends and I had to wait until the next business day. Anybody who has HSBC credit cards can close them down and try a new company

Dear Sir/Madam

Some 1 yrs back 2008 i was approached by HSBC credit card agents who kept on following up with me till i agreed to apply for their life time free crdit card. I had never used the credit card. After 1 yr i received a call from the bank that i had outstanding balance of Rs 4000.On enquiring about the transaction the bank told me that the same has been deducted towards TATA AIG General Insurance premium.I was shocked to hear that since i had neither applied for the same nor received any such policy either from TATA AIG or HSBC. I got my card blocked and asked the bank to cancel the policy as i had not applied for the same.

HSBC Holdings unfair late payment charges

We have a HSBC Visa card this is the first time we used it, it is a joint card, we have misplaced the bill that we received and tried to find the outstanding amt from customer service but dint get any help saying we dont have pin number, one fine day we got a call saying outstanding amt to be paid, we asked to arrange a pickup as payment centers are far but they said it is not possible, they charged 1000 charges. This is unfair, with out our mistake we had to bear this charges.
