I handed over a document to the DHL lusaka office under Air Way Bill # [protected] on the 27th of March 2008 to be sent to Standard Charterd Bank in Bangalore, India.After a week when I recieved a call from the recipient of the document that the said document has not reached its destination I took up the issue with the DHL staff at the Lusaka office.

I spoke to Gatrude, Sydney, Kamana etc etc every one promised me to investigate and come back to me but none did.

Then I tried to contact the customer service manager Grace, but failed as I was being told that she was not in her office or she was in a meeting.I left messages to return my call but in vain.At one instance it so happened that the lady who answered my phone call said "hold on she is here" and I can hear that the lady saying
"Grace it is your call" surprisingly after a few seccods I was told that Grace drove away.

After this I contacted the DHL operations manager Gladys to know that the manifest depatrment had made a mistake by putting a wrong destination code, and finally the document reached its destination on the 11th of April 2008 after 15 days.

This delay has failed its purpose and has caused me and my family untold misery and some fianacila losses.

The documents were ment for the bank advising to release funds
for marriage arrangements of my daughter. We booked marriage
fecilities at cost of Indian rupees 140, 000 equivalent to US Dollars 3700 and paid an advance of 2000 dollars on the 27th 0f March 2008 with a agreement of paying the balance with in 10 days ie before the 7th of March 2008.I was told the the document will reached its destination with in 3 working days which did not happen due to the mistake of the DHL manefest department at their Lusaka office.As a result we lost the advance amount which we paid and also lost the facility of our choice and had to arange an alternate facility which is not our best chice. I am trying to contact on phone and through emails to all the resposible HDL officials including the Head, Carol White but no one bothers to respond.

This is not the DHL immage me and my colleagues are used to so far.It is most unfortunate and unprofessional to display such an indifferace by people holding responsible positions in a famous international company like DHL
